Funimation Cancels One Piece Simulcast

I'm still wondering why this is in teh fansub section
-
Sanji's name is also used as a pun in Japanese though, so by translating his name you can lose these little jokes here and there, as well as the reasoning behind his name. Though I think the French thing comes into it too. Makes you wonder how much thought Oda put into such otherwise common sections of a story. I highly doubt ALL of the references are intended, but I am sure he makes use of them when he finds them.son to leave it in Japanese. At least, I see no reason and have seen no argument that justifies it.
Yeah, I realize that (Sanji no oyatsu= three o' clock snacktime)… I was amazed when we started learning about telling time in my first Japanese class. I was like, "Sanji?? Seriously?? :D" Makes me think that if you'd write his name in kanji it'd be the "three" and "'o clock" ones.
And I'm starting to wonder about this leak thing: once could be an accident. Twice: are they sure they've screened everyone who works at FUNimation?

I'm still wondering why we have Lilke EIGHT Threads about this topic

I'm still wondering why we have Lilke EIGHT Threads about this topic
Probably because it's such a hot topic. It's probably the biggest thing to happen to the OP fandom since the simulcast was announced.
Which like like, less than three weeks ago.

8 rivers of tears lol

You know what People need to realise?

There are like 20 of these threads so I figure I'd put it here.
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interview/2009-06-05/funimation-discusses-leaked-episodes
They basically say they'll continue and are suing the guy who leaked the video and will go after anyone who tries to distribute their subbed episodes via torrents, like Horrible-subs, or something.
Plus now they're just not gonna upload to their site until minutes before they put it online, and they'll up their security.
-
Yeah, I already posted it in the other topic.
Them uploading the simulcast episodes after they air in Japan will definitely keep it from leaking too early. I'm hoping that with that, Toei will trust them to do the One Piece simulcast again.
-
What about downloading it after it airs? 'Cause I'd kinda like to do that…

Whoever's first wins. Leaks won't do much damage if FUNimation can beat them to it.
-
The Major problem with the Leak was that it hit BEFORE it aired in Japan.
anything that happens AFTER it airs in Japan probably won't have much effect.
-
What?! They cancelled One Piece????
! That is unacceptable
-
Sooo… anyone think they might try and get an episode up tonight? (Note that I said "try" and not "will" since things are still a bit uneasy and whatnot)

Probably not. I predict that they'll need at least another week or two to straighten this out.
-
I'm hoping they'll put an episode up, but I'm not counting on it.
-
Yeah it looks like they didn't. But we also haven't heard the end of their talks with Toei, and it seems logical we'd hear that before we saw episodes again.
-
If they were going to put an episode up they would have told us.

(somehow, I lost this thread… like, it didn't appear on the forums for a while... sorry. XP)
@Skull:
Why all the hostility? … It's a shame you can't accept other views that differ from your own.
Why can't you just chill and learn tolerance?
um… tolerance? XD Hon, I'm sorry, but you make me lol. Most of your posts on the announcement thread and this one are skirting the lines of trolling. At the very least, it's inflammatory. I mean, you outright insult people, companies, and animes that you happen not to care for. I'm really not intolerant; it's just been you vs. other people here. In my post, I equally blamed the others. Funny how you chose not to quote that part.
Some words of advice if you don't want to be mistaken for a troll:
Don't enter a thread where you disagree with everyone else posting
If you enter a thread and don't know that others disagree with you from the beginning, as soon as you find out more than 75% of posters do, leave
Don't insult people. Also, don't use inflammatory language ("vomits", "absolute garbage", "atrocious", "rip my ears off", "anybody with actual taste"... need I go on?)If you don't want me saying you're causing lots of drama, then just don't be the center of drama. =) Generally, in the situation of "One person vs. numerous other people", the "one person" is said to be causing lots of drama. Here, it's "Skull Kid vs. Other AP Members". So I say you're causing lots of drama. No issues against you personally; I know you and I disagree about where to get anime, and I'm OK with that. It's the fact that you can't just express your opinion, but have to go on to diss things that other people like that makes me take issue with you. If you could use less inflammatory dialogue, I'd be on the same terms with you as the rest of AP: relatively ambivalent. Because you're inspiring conflict (and provided you're over 18, I can't think of it as anything but intentional), I facepalm and sigh at these arguments. And, of course, lol at how seriously you're taking yourself. XD It must really get you off to diss people and have them grow agitated with you.
@Skull:
Cease and desists the One Piece groups have said will cause them to stop if they get. I'm hoping that more groups will turn up after this to continue the series, but I can't count on that. The fact that Funimation releases cease and desists at all is enough to make me dislike them.
Re: Oh Noes, ANBU received a Cease and Desist for Naruto so there's never gonna be any more naruto fansubs ever again.
…please do research. New fansub groups will ALWAYS take over when others quit for C&Ds, particularly for popular fansubbed shows like OP and Naruto.
'Sides, you blame Funi for sending the C&Ds? Imagine you paint a pretty picture, and sell it for $1000. You make prints of it, and each one sells for $50 a pop. Someone ELSE starts making prints and sells them to people. Well, all those people buying the fake prints could be buying yours. It's infringing on your business. You're going to tell them to stop, because it MAKES SENSE....how old are you? This is common sense. >.o
@Skull:
What really matters to me is the episode per DVD ratio being so low …
most companies release 3 eps per disc. Some 4. 5 or 6 eps per disc is pretty nice. Couple that with most DVDs sell for $30, and Funi's not doing bad at all. I'm quite satisfied with the episode to DVD ratio. I refuse to buy any series with less than 5 eps per DVD.
@Skull:
I want these things to happen because I see it as being good for the show's exposure…(blah blah blah)
This isn't good for the show in any sense. What the hell kind of world are you living in? See, most of the world is CAPITALIST. Which means, "If it's profitable, it is allowed to exist". "Profitable" means people pay for it. In this particular case, buying DVDs, manga and merchandise makes something "profitable". Because of the ads associated with the stream, that also contributed to this idea of "profitability".
The kind of world where people would receive things because they're pretty, good, needed, etc. without paying for it is a COMMUNIST world. Which means, "If you exist, you're allowed to take what you need, and what you want, to a certain extent". So go tell the governments of the world to switch to communism, and fansubs will help out One Piece. =) (No, that smiley was not sarcastic. I really do want you to go do something about these opinions, instead of sitting on your ass and arguing over them here, where inevitably your opinions will have all the sway that a gnat has over a tornado.)
Now, I refuse to feed you further, and as such will ignore any insults I'm sure you'll try to toss at me, because really, hurling insults back and forth in the way you wish to do so with the posters on this thread is juvenile.
Last thing I have to say to you: I DO understand that you don't like Funi's translation, etc. etc. So when I say "Go watch your burned DVDs like a good elitist" I mean it. I totally understand your position and have done the same myself when I don't like the way a company handles an anime. Sure. That's one thing. But I've never gone to a forum and said, "Man, I'm SO glad this company couldn't release >product< because I HATE what they did with this anime! If I could have, I wish I had helped in their failure!" …that's trolling. Or flaming, depending on who you're talking to. No, I just say, "Hm... gonna watch the better version and be happy here with my anime. <3 Yay... this is such a good fansub." And refuse to watch DVDs of it if my friends offer. I tell them that I hate the job the company did, so I watch fansubs. You see the difference between what you and I are doing? I am being a fan. You are being a fan-troll.
oh. Bee-tee-dubs, are the FANSUBS paying you to advocate them? Would you be happy if I told you I hero-worshipped K-F until they fell behind, at which point I was very sad? What about if I told you I did the same with Vegapunk? Would you be happy then? What about if I threw money at THEIR heads? …I'm joking of course, Skull Kid. I'm not so much of a bitch that I'd actually say any of this paragraph in seriousness. I just thought I should point out how much MORE of an elitist ass you are. =) I don't mean 'elitist ass' offensively, mind you; it's just a mindset. That you happen to have. Me, I take good stuff, and like to follow the rules the majority of the time. Because breaking rules takes so much more effort, and I'm a lazy person at heart.
Make of this what you like, but I don't mean to hurt. I'm really a kind person, and I only want you to learn how chilling works. Because chilling is really rewarding. With that, I think I'm gonna go sit down, read, and be chill. ~_~

we got our fansubs !!! get over it ???

we got our fansubs !!! get over it ???
No. If this went well we could've gotten "One Piece" faster than any fansub.

Attacking Skull Kid.
Wasn't really necessary given most of the negative feedback he already got and the amount of days that's gone by since that post was made.

Yeah, but I like to respond to responses to me, and my computer legitimately didn't show this thread since I made that post. Like, I searched for it, and it was disappeared. o.O
