@SympathyX:
Please god tell me that the Second being the bottom of your list is a joke!?
hes by far one of the best and most complex incarnations of the Doctor to date!!
Surely you've atleast seen The Invasion, Tomb of the Cybermen, The Mind Robber, The Krotons, Evil of the Daleks or The War Games before making such an assumption!?
They are some of the finest Doctor Who stories ever to grace the series!
The Second Doctor and Jamie McCrimmon are possibly the most memorable, lovable and overall best pairing in the entire series.
….and the Sixth doesnt even make your list??!!!
The Tenth is good but in no way is he the best. He's suffered some piss poor writing from RTD and other bad writers. If he did another year under Steven Moffat then maybe MAYBE he would have pushed his way through to the top but to be honest I dont think we have seen the best of the Tenth Doctor and as he has bugger all episodes left, I dont think we will.
Since David Tennant done it before, hopefully, before long Big Finish will pick up the rights to the Tenth Doctor and do some continuing adventures within the next few years. Freema Agyeman would probably do it and theres plenty of spaces in the story to fit in extra stories. The comic strip manages to do it so why not??
My list has to be
8, 2, 6, 10, 3, 4, 9, 1, 5, 7
Oops, Forgot 'bout the Sixth - He'd probably go under the Ninth,
Now thing is, I really dislike the Ninth, but out of 9 & 6 - I'd choose Nine.
Also, toyed about with Second & Seventh's Placing, But I haven't seen enough of him to judge, so that placing was simply due to my lack of knowledge on him. Perhaps I should swap their places round. not really that I don't like the Second, just simply that I can't fit him in higher.
Also, I'm in agreement about M'Gann being my Fav Doc (I like Tennant's but overall, I like 8th Better - It's a shame He was only Our Doctor for 'One Night Only!' - I loved the way he was portrayed & his scripting, atleast in that movie, was great, his personality, acting & humour.
The reason I think the movie did bad was because of the modernisation & americanization of the Master, he was really cheesy, bit like the new Nasty Nick.
I think, If Eight had been given a series or string of specials atleast, he would have been his generation's Tennant (Ie, Bringing popularity back to the show again, ie - Almsot Brining New Who into Mainstream-ism.)
'S a Shame M'Gann didn't get a proper series, he was at a few conventions & all that, but said he hated wearing the wig most of all. I think his costume really suited him, brought back the Doctor's real, elegant, gentleman victorian old theme, ie, that he is much older than he appears. There were rumours about M'Gann getting a string of Movie Specials, a few months ago, and as much as I'd love this to happen, it probably most definately won't …
I think that Eleven has a great chance to become many peoples favourite Doctors, and with Steven Moffatt's much appraised writing at the helm, I think he's got an even better chance.
However, I really liked Davidson's Doc, he brought a nice refreshing Wave of almost youth to the show, as I belief Matt Smith will next year.
And also, Davidson shows commitment, being up for Charity Specials, Eccleston treated the show like a one-night stand, Did the show, left, no publicity, no limelight, no questions, reviews, articles, opinons, he probably doesn't even know who the 11th Doctor is going to be & won't for a long, long, time.
