That's true…and I think kids means 1 and below...12 and 13 are tweens..

I think it depends on the anime, but when I was younger the reason I didn't watch anime was, because my country didn't touch on the anime once (maybe one but then I wouldn't have known). I don't really know about kids watching anime, I mean you wouldn't show a kid something like battle royale and so on. Most people think it's safer to show kids intended anime (digimon, pokemon, hamtaro, and the list continues).
What about manga for kids? I sometimes bought stuff that were intended for 16 year olds, when I was younger but it didn't really have an effect on me. Practically cause it's easier to pick up the books.
I do remember someone saying that the ratings aren't for you but for the shop owners (whether to let you buy it or not).

It highly depends on the anime. There are some anime that are suitable for kids…maybe chibi maruko chan would be okay or hamutaro.
But there are some anime that are like rated PG
Bloody anime, shows with mild violent languages, and of course hentai or yaoi anime arent good for little children. They must wait till they reach the right age!

As it has been already stated before I hardly think that Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Beyblade etc. isn´t targeted at teens or adults. I mean if kids wouldn´t watch those shows then who would? OK probably I would watch Yu-Gi-Oh! but appart from that I doubt that those series are created just for one adult person.
-
Well, isn't anime for children in the first place? Ok, that might be going a bit too far… there are certainly anime aimed for older teens and adults, but there are more anime for kids out there than those for adults.
-
Set,game, and match! Viz it's official. Anime is for EVERYONE.

Alfred J. Kwak? Pinnochio? Huckleberry Finn? Sinbad? Calimero? Wickie de Kleine Viking? Boes Boes?
Yup, those are all anime. In fact, I think more than half of the animated series that were on when I was a kid were Japanese… Which, of course, I only recently found out about. Still funny, though.
And considering those were all kid's shows, I think my answer to this poll is clear. Any type of medium is for anybody who decides to watch or read it, when it comes down to it.

**All right, fuck the rules anyway.TO VIZHATER
Listen Joe, Have you ever mosied your ass over to the Television and pressed POWER? And den u wached them shows! Did you ever POSSIBLY entertain the thought that Anime is just like those millions of TV programs? Varying wildly in content and age-aim? Would you possibly entertain the IDEA that Anime isn't its own breed of animal? That its all in all EXACTLY like american Tv shows except with different cultural background and its all animated?
Wait I'll do your response for you.
" BUT GEEZ FELLAS ITS DIFFERENT BECAUSE JAPAN IS A LAND WHERE PAPER IS MADE OUT OF GOLD AND NOBODY EVER DIES EVER BECAUSE THEYRE BIG BRAINED UNLIKE AMERIKA! LOLOLOL."Shut the hell up.
I can't tell if your just being a troll, or your just backed into a corner by the sensible people and decide to foam at the mouth and flail your arms wildly to discourage predators.
REGARDLESS, your simply dragging down conversation after conversation. Like a Troll.
And Trolls …... nobody cares for.Out?
Yhea.
**I wish I could staple this to the heads of every single person who asks the question, "duhhhh, do you like anime?" Which is about as stupid as asking someone if they like TV shows.
-
Probably should keep away Anime from our next generation…
Or they might grow up to be... INYASHUA LOVIN COSPLAYERS GRASP ... the horrors.
Not kidding... much... just kidding... maybe... seriously, it depends on the anime.

**Well learn something new everyday:) I did watch Alfred J. Kwak, Sinbad, Boes Boes and Calimero. I once found out that Calimero was one of the oldest animes out there. But of course they were translated into dutch. I don't remember watching Wickie de Kleine Viking (didn't Oda watch that when he was a chibi).
I also think that age isn't really the most concern but more like how a person handles the anime (maturity)? Whenever I think of years, I think of time, and that leads me to think that time is something we invented.
I miss those anime when I was little, I probably didn't realise some were anime. Though I researched and found out that japanese/dutch companies mainly worked together to create those cartoon/anime. so funky…

No, if he meant that it would've been "nigga," he clearly had intent to be offensive. He could've just said "dude" or "guy."

He proboially meant it as like saying the word dude or something. Kids talk like that all the time. I doubt he meant it in a racist way.
I know what you're saying. I was talking to a friend at my school and she said it and I practically fell over. She didn't say it in a hateful way, she was just talking.
However, this word is used more often than not with hateful conotations. >(

No one in their right mind should allow a child to see "Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend". But then, I think no one in their right mind no matter what age should watch that at all.
-
Nigga please.

After this reply, no matter who, you will be warned if you reply anything off-topic. That means something other than "Kids and Anime".
Really, this discussion is not a troll. He's just stating an opinion and other people have good replies on it, too.
Keep whatever happened to PM in PM. That's already taken care of anyway.
