As long as people are willing to pay, I think this type of things are here to stay.
It do sucks. I mean, as I said, I'm a fan of post-release support of games. It gives games more longevity. I have bought expansion packs for PC games pretty much as long as I have played games. And I'm really looking forward whatever stuff Fable II, GTA IV and Fallout 3 will be getting. But this isn't post-release supporting. This is abusing otherwise a wonderful concept.
That said, having to buy these won't make or break the game. It's just costumes. And we don't even know the price yet. Still slighty disappointing, tho. I hope Tekken 6 won't take this road. Gee, that would something.

depends. Ps3 has a superior d-pad, which would work the best for this type of game. However they will be releasing controllers that will (supposedly) remedy the situation for the 360's crummy d-pad.
essentially both games will be identical. Plenty of players to fight against online (Live and PSN both have MANY users. I never wait more than two minutes to find a match in HD remix on PSN).

Never really saw the appeal of the D-Pad for fighting games I know playing Street Fighter II back in the day was crazy hard using one of those.
I've often wondered about that myself; seems like being supported by people who only want you there so the world can end in fire (with you going to Hell in the process) would be somewhat off-putting

I'm kind of the opposite. I would play great on the Genesis and on the Dreamcast ala d-pad while my stick controls always sucked, even in arcade I was only decent comparably. I'm still no pro but I do a lot better with a d-pad.

Hmm the D-pad is questionable though, I personally got used to the Direction buttons on the PS controllers.
The Controller is based off the Sega Saturn one which was one of the best Fighting pad ever so it prove to be a great controller. Still I think I'll have trouble to pull off the Ultra on a controller either PS/Xbox system.
Might have to do some button mapping. But I'm gonna play it on Stick either way so I can pull off Guile's Ultra with no problem.

It's just a matter of little practice. Like with anything, really. At least pulling off moves in HD Remix is super duper easy and nice after getting used to it. And I doubt things will be any different with SFIV. I wouldn't go back to d-pad, any d-pad, at this point anymore.
i've always preferred the ps d-pad over everything. If I can get pretty damn good with Guilty Gear, then i'll be more than fine for street fighter
You can pull of mostly anything with a really good GamePad like the PS one has but I can't go back to controllers after playing fighting games on sticks.

I agree. Hell, I'd have taken any character(s) from SF3, but those two and Dudley were the ones I wanted the most.
I like the look of the Haggar costume for Zangief was a great idea. Shame they've never been in the same game together.

About Dan: His super is pretty much point-blank, if you're to use it best thing to do is Focus Attack Lvl. 2 or 3, and then do the super. Else use it to do block damage (it does a total of 19 hits)
By my guessing this simple combo should do around 35%-40% damage.

No you can't play against PS3 to 360 only to the same console.

I definitely want to try out the new characters more - I only got to play two matches at MAGFest, one of which was against Justin Wong (!), so I got my ass handed to me once and had an ugly win later on when there was no crowd around. I gotta play with my homegirl Cammy, and I definitely want to see if my HD Remix Balrog and Third Strike Dudley tactics work with SF IV Balrog.

There have been tier lists for quite some time. It's not like I really adhere to them (or at all); though I can't say the same for the rest of the players in the states, seeing as how everyone seems to.
But yeah, Sagat requires NO EFFORT from anyone to master. He always manages to find some dirty way to make it to the top, especially in the game, with his Tiger "Everything" spamming, high priority, and his cheap-ass [foward + roundhouse (x2) –> Tiger Destruction Ultra Combo] is just wrong.
I main E. Honda, and I've never had problems with him until SFIV. It's bullshit that the Tiger Shot hits high and mid, as opposed to hitting high and low like it always has in previous SF incarnations.
