RE: Volume 108 Predictions/Discussion
Chapters 1089 – 1099, ending with Vegapunk and Kuma agreeing on the name "Pacifista", with either "Pacifist" or "Kumachi" as the volume title. On the cover we'll get the Egghead crew of the past, i.e. big headed Vegapunk, Kuma, Bonney, Sentomaru, Borsalino, and Saturn being ominous in the background. Maybe throw Ginny, Ivankov and Dragon somewhere in there as well.

RE: Next Straw Hat Crewmates (Vol. 10 - Egghead)
Editors might nudge Oda to give certain characters more screentime, but putting "I'm gonna join!" into their mouths over and over again?
Also lol at "Oda likes to keep readers guessing". Zoro, Usopp and Sanji were pretty straightforward but they don't count since they were very early on, right? Just look at Nami, I'm sure there was a lot of guessing if she was really gonna leave! ... Right!? Then Chopper... also straightforward, but also early, so doesn't count! There was a lot of guessing with Rob– nope, her joining was a surprise to everyone. But we readers were meant to guess in Water 7 with all the shipwrights, and especially Franky vs. Paulie! Just remember the discussions! ... Aaand then Franky got the flashback and the colorspread and wasn't delegated to the arc-specific ally fodder group. Now, Brook joining was debatable for sure! ... If you ignore the fact that he was asked to join within the very same chapter of his first appearance, a quirky skeleton and being the musician that Luffy has been looking for. But we can't have another swordsman! What, he's the one Laboon has been waiting for?! Fine. Jimbei though, I'll give you that one, just don't look at Brennen's well-thought out theory on why Jimbei's was being set up as the next crewmate.
So all in all, I think we see that yes, Oda likes to be unpredictable on who's going to join next. If you ignore all the outliers that make up the majority of the crew.
Never change, Nakama thread. Never change.

Why does She Hulk have such a low audience score on Rotten Tomatoes?
Cishet men with zero self-esteem are likely sending in negative reviews.
Holy shit, what is up with this asinine and stupid excuse??
Jesus christ, a show can actually just be bad without it being internet trolls trying to sabotage it.
This narrative is just so weird to me.
@Shiebs Have you read the reviews? or did you just look at the score? She-hulk is a very boring show. Its a law-centric comedy but none of the comedy works. None of the jokes land. The main character is extremely thin and has no depth.
As far as I watched it, it seems the whole thing is centered arond how a character that looks like Tatiana fucking Maslany is somehow unattractive and no one likes her. Also some weird dating stuff. This wouldn't be a problem if the other characters were funny or fleshed out even a little but they are not. All of them are boring, one dimensional and interchangeable.
As a comedy show it fails. As a superhero show it fails.
And none of this, absolutely none of this, is centered on the fact that its a show run by women.
anyway, all in all. I say absolutely FUCK OFF to the convenient excuse that only incels and trolls don't like a show.
If something sucks it sucks.Did you read the reviews? Here, have an excerpt:

I mean, you lead your rebuttal with [...]
Which, to start with, completely ignores that the marines came to Amazon Island to target Hancock with Seraphim in tow, and accomplished nothing except losing Koby...
When an Emperor and the Pirate King's first mate unexpectedly join the fray I don't blame them for being quickly overwhelmed and outmatched.
which ignores acess.timecos point. He argues they didn't accomplish their goal, you say "that wasn't their goal", and then don't establish what their goal is supposed to be or what if anything they accomplished.
They argued that the Seraphim could've just laid waste to Amazon Lily and/or subjugate the island before Blackbeard's arrival to establish hype, which is why I'm pointing out that the Marines never intended wanton destruction or to fight them if it can be avoided. Also, the Marines came to Amazon Lily to apprehend Hancock, I genuinely thought that was obvious.
Then you whoelsale dismiss Acess.timecos actual reasonings given as disengenous
I don't wholesale dismiss the reasonings. I give concrete evidence why those reasonings aren't good arguments for why the Seraphim would be significantly weaker than their originals: The latter have never shown anything beyond the very same level of accomplishments. So why is it seen as a detriment to the Seraphim?
which is not helped by needlessly mocking remarks such as "And are those Hawks in the room right now, or do you only hear their voices?" or "If we're making up explanations", and more. Your entire tone comes off as mocking, absolutely not helped by the "Cry laughing" emoji you added to acess.timecos earlier post.
When that's the attitude you bring, he has ample reason to not consider discourse with you worth his time. And like, not even 10 years ago I would maybe write my counterpoints in a similar snide "what are you thinking? lol" way which is fun and empowering to write, but also makes you look bad to the people on the other end and actively hurts your chances at engaging in good-faith discourse with them...assuming thats what you want.
I admit I do like to add some snark into my posts, and if anyone decides to not engage with me because their feelings can't handle separating snark from arguments, then that's their prerogative. That still doesn't change the fact that my posts aren't just a string of random insults designed to get a kick out of being mean. But again, people are free to see it that way.

RE: Chapter 1076: Old Friends
Stephen isn't infallible, but always leave it to hobby/Google translators to have the absolute confidence to know better than paid professionals.
Borsalino ordering any Battleship to Egghead doesn't mean that all ships that are coming will be of that class. Just as they were heading to Egghead for an operation, even before Luffy teamed up with Vegapunk, other non-Battleships were likely as well.
Having a ship of a certain size doesn't mean it will be manned to its upmost capacity.
If someone tells you that there's a group of over 100 people coming to a place, do you expect them all to be the same height, or does it need to be specified that there will be both tall and short people?
And maybe you should bother to read the official version before claiming that something was or was not said. But that's just my common sense talking. What does it know.

Given how translating "Mo" to "A" must have a definite reason, either Oda shared a footnote with translators worldwide... or this is going to be revealed so soon that they already have the next chapters scripts? Either way, I love this attention to detail!
Unfortunately no, if that was the case then stuff like Mother Frame and Rox never would've happened

Also she’ll need someone to protect now that she poses such a significant threat to the world government
Yeah, maybe something like a small army of killer robot dads that the biggest fleet of Marines we've seen so far struggled with and took one of the most important people in the world who usually just hides away in their little chamber to disable.
You think she’s going to travel the world with hundreds of pacifistas around her at all times?
Plus you’re forgetting that super important person disabled all of them around her
They won’t be following her anywhere
- Her reason to travel the world has been achieved.
- I'm not forgetting that. Nusjuro disabled the Pacifista but nothing says they're permanently destroyed, especially when he seems to "only" have frozen them for now. But sure, the Straw Hats obviously are much better at protecting people than Pacifista.
I forgot that this thread is concentrated "let me desperately look for reasons to make this character get permanent focus", don't mind me fucking off from this hellhole.

I was curious about this sort of thing too and came across a video from last year that suggested the OP world might be experiencing fluctuating sea levels due to having previously and being in the process of a Pole Shift phenomenon (in which the north & south poles change). Though, in this case, the theory was that the poles were shifting at a 90 degree angle, that would leave the Red Line as the equator (apparently the Japanese name for the equator translates to "Red Road") and the Grand Line in the Prime Meridian position.
Won't watch the videos so maybe they clarified it, but neither the Red Line nor the Grand Line are the equator, so such a pole shift wouldn't be 90 degrees.

that was to show Yamato didn’t have that. That was the comparison between Yamato and the others. Yamato was willing to join the crew straight from the jump with nothing holding him back. The others did by refusing initially with Luffy winning them over. There wasn’t an arc that Yamato went through when joining the crew.
But then there’s Usopp and Robin and then I remember arguing in this thread is a doomed process.
Yeah, nothing was holding Yamato back from setting out and chasing his dream. No exploding handcuffs, no father that repeatedly beat him into submission, no threat to the country he wants to be safe.
