More people throwing their lives away so Luffy can escape. Pretty sure that's all the last 10 chapters or so have been. Also a bit sad to see Big Mom come out of her cake coma so soon.
I didn't dislike the chapter though, don't get me wrong!

I feel like either:
The Sunny is going to get damaged so badly they're going to be stuck on an island somewhere with a desperate attempt to try to contact Franky and get him to that island
The fishmen put Strawhat flags on a lot of ships so it would be harder to tell which one was the Sunny.
Not sure what the other rumors are, haven't read all the posts :X
Completely agree. In all likeliness Oda has no intention to show - and maybe also no idea - what awakening would be like for all those weird Paramecias out there.
Take Buggy. Definitely not gonna happen, it would be completely unlike him to awaken; but still. If his ability to slice up and control parts of himself was extended to the environment, would it make his DF power a lesser version of the Ope-Ope? And speaking of, can that particular fruit become even more out-of-this-world?
Honestly, awakening reeks of a huge can of worms that I'm not sure I want to see opened at all. I'll be perfectly fine it remains limited to a handful protagonists in the series, and not getting an explanation is fine as well as long as the result is cool and my disbelief remains suspended.
It would be a bit different than the Ope-Ope. He wouldn't be able to cut other people (Doffy can't turn people into strings), just the environment. Buggy also wouldn't need a "room", he could do it anywhere. He'd have telekinetic control over anything he wanted to cut. It would make him relatively dangerous as a Shichibukai. Unlikely, yes, but still a thought.
I can't think of anything terribly clever Luffy could do by altering the environment. Make punches without punching? Create shields? Meh.
Hey all! I'm a LONG time reader, haven't posted yet. I've been coming here every week for years though!
The title of the chapter suggests something really bad is going to happen. The last time %chance was brought up, it was during Marineford. Hawkins said Luffy never showed a 0% death rate, no matter how many times he tried. This instance is different. Sunny gets badly damaged and they have to abandon it until they get Franky? Maybe I'm looking into it too much XD
