I think it's fine for anime-only watchers to make predictions, even if the manga readers already know the outcome. This would be an average prediction if the anime hadn't already given information that pretty much rules this out from way back in the East Blue arc. I honestly think it'd be a bit more boring if Roger were actually Luffy's dad. I'm not a huge fan of dynasties. Granted, Luffy is part of a dynasty, just from a different path.

RE: Chapter 603: "Keep it in Your Heart" Discussion
I've been spoiled by early spoilers for far too long. Honestly, I think we're lucky to get next day high quality scanslation. That said, I'm still antsy, time to find something else to do.

RE: Felch Discussion Part 4
Okay, even though everyone was saying it for a while, I now believe that Kubo is a troll. Lost Badge Arc of Trollness.

RE: Your Top 5 Awesome Anime/Manga Characters Trapped in Shitty Series
Saying a manga is shitty just because you didn't like one arc is really stupid. And Hisoka's personality didn't change during the story.
Yeah, that's pretty much exactly what I'm saying. I liked the Soul Society Arc in Bleach, but would I still call it a shitty series due to the big turn south it made afterward? Yep. As for Hisoka, do we gage all our favorite characters based on how they grow as a person? Hisoka is an evil, self absorbed bastard, if he went all sunshine-and-rainbows it'd make him a crappy character. Yeah, I know you didn't necessarily mean he had to go all goody goody, but I just expected more of a role from him, that's all.
I've never read it, but you're saying it is a shitty manga because you're unable to wait for the ending. WTF!!
22 years man, that might be longer than you've even been alive.
That wouldn't have been a proper ending.
I respectfully disagree, but I'm not a fan.

RE: Your Top 5 Awesome Anime/Manga Characters Trapped in Shitty Series
Ichimaru Gin - Bleach
Such a waste… All that time spent wondering how awesome Gin would be (should be) down the drain as cannon fodder. Ridiculous.Takayanagi Masataka - Tenjou Tenge
The single coolest character in the series, I enjoyed watching him kick the main character's ass at the beginning. Most of the characters of Hunter X Hunter
Wow did Greed Island screw up a good thing. Yeah I know the recent chapters before the great hiatus have been good. Hiatuses have really killed interest for me, and ditching awesome characters like Kurapica for Greed Island was cold. Remember when Hisoka was awesome? What happened?Teresa - Claymore
At one point I thought the plot of this manga was actually going somewhere. I was and am sadly mistaken.Dark Schneider - Bastard!
The series itself is great, but it's half finished due to a lazy and/or sick mangaka, so the story has been half finished for a LONG time. Seriously, ongoing since 1988 and only 26 volumes.Vegeta - DBZ
If only planet Namek had never existed and the series had just ended after the Saiyan saga. But alas, Captain Ginyu and Frieza, and more did come into existence turning Dragon Ball into the soul sucking, endless abomination it is today! -
RE: Manga you WOULD'NT recommend
Reborn is a complete waste. Bleach has been -really- bad for the last couple hundred chapters, I still can't figure out why I still read it. Rave's problem is it just keeps dragging on with unmemorable fights. Fairy Tail might be headed that way but the current arc seems a little more promising. Pretty much any shoujo manga isn't worth it unless you're looking for sappy unrealistic love stories.

Usopp, no contest. Before Usopp only had his long nose going for him. Now he's a freaking pimp!

RE: Felch Discussion Part 4
20,000 years for an immortal dude. Last time I checked, 20,000 << eternity. When I read the spoiler script for 523 I thought it was a fan prediction. And why only go on a 2 week hiatus, just end the damn thing and try writing something new. The series has clearly lost its spark.

RE: Chapter 599, "9 Pirates" Discussion
So, what do you guys think Oda's fix for Franky's ridiculous arms will be? I say that Franky will be a modular cyborg. He can put on his old arms if necessary, because dear God right now they're eyesores. I'm gonna miss Franky's hairdo.

RE: Felch Discussion Part 4
I'm just glad to see another freaking character on the page. The "final" strike was pretty underwhelming considering all you really saw was some black sliver. Aizen came to a pretty pathetic end, unless it was all part of the plan.
-
RE: Felch Discussion Part 4
Well Ichigo's "final" Getsuga Tenshou was pretty underwhelming… At least the animation will be damn easy.

RE: Absent From JUMP for One Month

RE: Whitebeard vs. Rayleigh
This deserves to be a tie. They're both amazing characters.

RE: Felch Discussion Part 4
I seriously thought that Aizen was going to say, "I see, Hogyoku, you won't let it happen will you? You won't let me be a pretty boy any more." As for the "final form" discussion. Come on, don't you know he has some ultra uber form? It's the Kubo Law of Aggregate Villain Completion. I say he's still got at least one, maybe two more forms.

RE: Felch Discussion Part 4
I don't know, I really think this fight will stretch on for like 7 more chapters. There will be some trick up Aizen's sleeve to turn the tide, then he'll boast about being all powerful. Then Ichigo will turn the tables again leaving Aizen stunned, and there will be an anticlimactic dual exchange. See: nearly every fight Ichigo has had. Okay, so it is predictable, but most manga is. The key to the success is how the story is told, and Kubo has kind of gutted that and turned his manga into an action-only series. The problem is he does a shitty job of implementing the action scenes. Most of what he does is just show a dark blur when a sword swings and facial expressions with a pose. Take the current chapter for example: Ichigo cleaves a mountain, but from the way it's illustrated it just looks like a small dirt mound got cut. Since Kubo's main focus is on drawing the characters and attempting dialogue this chapter, the significance of the moment was lost, and it came off as cliche or corny. The best mangaka can take the most predictable story and spin the action scenes into something truly monumental, and add details and depth to the story that make it interesting. The problem is Kubo is so self absorbed that he's convinced himself that the only creative inspiration he has is himself, and the rest of us are idiots. I'm done with this manga. Thank GOD Oda does an incredible job. Even Kishimoto is stellar compared to Kubo, at least the action is good in Naruto. Bleach has fallen apart.

RE: Filler Match: Best Heroine!
I'd vote Hilda over Aoi, but Aoi isn't a bad choice.

RE: Felch Discussion Part 4
So, Ichigo's "trade-off" is he has no reiatsu? Where exactly is the downside for this? It's not like he ever used it for anything else anyway.

Can someone explain to me this "The Heart" thing? Maybe link a chapter?
I've only read the SS arc and the most recent chapters. You didn't miss anything.

RE: Mihawk vs Zoro
Gotta love how predictable the Zoro fans are, even considering what happened in the last chapter.

RE: Felch Discussion Part 4
@Lady:
WE'RE STILL DECIDING?!!
Oh, well, it was still bad but an improvement (not a compliment). Still, everything I'm witnessing is one big joke. I'd be surprised if Kubo surprises us.
Technically, the title is Deicide. Which I would guess means the systematic slaughter of gods. I guess the title makes sense given uber shinigami fail.

RE: Felch Discussion Part 4
New Chapter: Contest of the mullets! Aizen clearly has the advantage with his long flowing 80s mane, but ichigo has a stylin 90s emo mullet going! This one could be close folks!
-
RE: Absent From JUMP for One Month
Shit, well maybe I can use this opportunity to break the habit of reading early spoilers.
-
RE: Felch Discussion Part 4
Yeah, we totally haven't read the manga with expectations that the series would improve rather than devolve into a bunch of one dimensional characters with uninspired dialogue.
-
RE: Felch Discussion Part 3
The sad thing is I still read the manga… if you can call it reading... just to see other people's responses to the utter stupidity that Bleach has become. So what exactly has kept the hate fueled? In my opinion the series has been going downhill ever since the Soul Society arc ended. Was there something promising on the horizon that kept us reading in the vain hope that something interesting and cool would happen? I've forgotten what it was in Bleach that was appealing to me. And here we are bitching about how the series sucks, and continuing to read it so we can find out just how bad it's gotten. So I guess the real question is, when do the fires of hate burn out on this little drama and people just get tired of the same boring shit over and over again. THAT will be when the series gets canned, and it's probably only a matter of time. The real question is just how agonizingly long will that be? If you compare Kubo to say, Lindsay Lohan, then we're in for a long ride before this thing ends.

RE: Felch Discussion Part 3
I feel bad for butterflies, Aizen is giving them a bad name.
-
RE: Felch Discussion Part 3
Well, if Orihime can stop saying Kurosaku-kun long enough, she could possibly bring everyone back with her powers.
Pretty much this. Never close the possibility of resurrections. How many characters have been "dead" only to make a miraculous recovery, or were mysteriously unharmed?
The point was I was wishing the manga would take a turn into something unexpected and exciting, rather than being on autopilot for the past 200 chapters, or however long it's been.
-
RE: Felch Discussion Part 3
Seriously disappointing. The thing about invincible characters is that they're boring. This story is ending (please God say it's almost over) all too predictably. Let's guess where this goes:
Since Gin has failed in the same fashion as the others before him, it is now up to Ichigo. Ichigo beats the hollow inside of him gaining some lackluster revelation and some measure of power-up that will be able to expose a weakness in Aizen's defenses. Aizen goes to make the key, but gets delayed by more peons, buying just enough time for Ichigo to come in last second and be the hero of the day. After 12 lines of dialogue and a couple sword slashes Aizen goes down, befuddled as to how he could have lost.
Alternately I give it a 10% chance of Aizen succeeding and making the key, but still ultimately gets stopped.
Hell with as easy as Aizen has had it, he'd better succeed.

RE: Ace vs. Luffy
As important as the role Ace has filled, it still doesn't mean he should win. To Luffy, the victor.
-
RE: Felch Discussion Part 3
If Kubo has actually offed Aizen, then kudos. I was happy when he offed Tousen, a lame character to be sure. I wouldn't bet money that Aizen is actually dead. Right now I'm leaning towards, "It was a good effort Gin, you actually managed to SCRATCH me! It was all part of my PLANNNNNN!" Seriously, what kind of master plan involves chasing powerless teenagers for an hour?

RE: Starcraft 2
The TV commercials for it make it out to be way more epic that it will actually be. I guess the trend nowadays is to turn video games into full feature movies with lackluster gameplay? I played the beta and I have to say that given how long it's been since the first release it doesn't feel all that different from the original Starcraft. There's a couple of tweaks that they made to the game that make things run a little smoother, but it's essentially the same game. Zerg is weaker, or at least it was near the end of the beta. Protoss is more or less balanced and Terrans are overpowered. Given that the original came out 13 years ago I'm not terribly impressed with the outcome of the game. Probably the most concerning elements in are in multiplayer, where Battle.net 2.0 has been an absolute trainwreck (no chat channels, realID posted to your battle.net friends, and the infamous popularity system for maps, and many other changes. Everything put together killed my hype for the game and I won't be buying it on release day, possibly not at all. Anyway, that's my perspective one it, take from it what you will.

RE: Kid Vs Enel
Voted for Enel! Here's to hoping he wins the tournament for once instead of losing to Crocodile every freaking time.

RE: Felch Discussion Part 3
Bleach is a lame horse, it needs to be put out of its misery. As Gin would say in Gintama, "Aaaahhh, when will Bleach end?"

RE: Pwngoat vs Crocodile
Must… go... with... pwngoat! Sorry Croc, but you've won before.

RE: Coby vs. Kung-Fu Dugongs
A lot of lesser one shot characters winning this tourney's matches. I thought this was Coby's for sure. When I see a strawhat lose to pwngoat, then I'll know it's for real. :P
