chopper hasn't had a fight where he has to switch forms to gain an edge, he's either just been in a single form for his matchups, and unfortunately, kung-fu point falls a little flat.

RE: Next Straw Hat Crewmates (Vol. 9 - Yamato vs. The World)
so i know everyone is on the yamato train, and that's all well and good, seeing as how we need a wano representative of some kind on the crew (was thinking kinemon for a while, but being stabbed through by kaido and zoro being able to do his moves kind of negates him), but how come Law is never brought up as a serious candidate as a permanent crew member?
Is the reason people discount him because he's a captain of his own crew? You'd figure the inclusion of Jinbei, a former captain and warlord himself, would make it clear that is not a real reason. He's a support type fighter, he's gotten a very strawhat-esque flashback, he fully believes in luffy and even said the strawhats perform miracles everywhere. he's a true believer, wants to find out the secret to the D clan, and knows that the strawhats can lead him to it. the ONLY reason to exclude him long term is that he's also a doctor, but that seems a minor hurdle. he was impressed by chopper and if we want to be pendantic, we can say he's more a surgeon than anything else.

RE: Chapter 931: Soba Mask
I like Page One being Sanji's warm up fight this arc (the suit is a lot of fun, and if this is an easy sanji win, i have no problem with it whatsoever), and with that in mind, I'm thinking that Zoro's warm up fight might be Shutemaru to get him on Momo's side, since Momo (or any of the other samurai retainers) aren't currently capable, especially since i believe zoro was on his way to Kuri after Ebisu.

RE: Next Straw Hat Crewmates (Vol. 7 - Wano)
So i've been a long time lurker on here, and just have a few thoughts on the next nakama thing.
In East Blue, Luffy picked up 4 crewmates, then picked up 4 more in Paradise. It would be pretty reasonable to assume that he will pick up 4 more in the New World. So far, we've only gotten 2 characters that have received the full flashback/full arc treatment: Jimbei and Law. Both had their own pirate crews to start with, and while Jimbei has agreed to part with his and join the Strawhats, he hasn't traveled with them. On the other hand, Law has traveled with them but has not agreed to part with his crew. Law seems to have complete faith in the strawhats, and is also a D, so it's not unreasonable that he should have interest in the endgame beyond being part of the grand fleet to help in giant brawls. The main question with him is whether he'd be willing to depart from the Heart Pirates. Maybe the end of Wano will provide them a home of sorts? I know, I know, he's a doctor, chopper's a doctor, he's a shichibukai, jimbei's one too, etc. However, this is the Pirate King's crew. They need some powerhouses to fill out their ranks.
As for the 2 remaining spots, the most obvious choices seem to be Carrot and Kinemon. Most people have completely dismissed him as an option, and i'm not sure why. He's in his prime, has a 2 sword style, funky personality, and established crew interactions,e tc. The only thing holding him back seems to be his role as a retainer to momonosuke, and that he has a wife, Otsuru. The reason I think he may join them on their journey is that Momo will want to fulfill his father's wishes (as will Kinemon) of opening Wano's borders. It makes sense to have someone travel with the strawhats to see the world, and it sure as heck won't be Momo, Vivi-style. So he'll send his most loyal retainer, his wife'll be like, it's been 20 years already, i'm a different person, what's a few more years, it's nice to know you're alive, blah blah blah. His other retainers aren't quite as established, too old, or too weird (raizo and kanjuro are just bananas characters).
Carrot is an interesting case. She's been highlighted sporadically, traveled with the crew, and has shown a badass powerup. There are no other mink candidates since pedro died, and since the strawhats are so freakin' diverse, they could probably use a mink. The main detractor with her is that she hasn't seemed…necessary? She hasn't driven the plot at all really, she was just there and decided to take the trip. On the other hand, she can handle herself, has interacted with the crew in new and interesting ways, and yes...i'm buying the lookout thing. These two aren't quite as powerful as Law and Jimbei, but that's good. Can't have everyone be a monster. Unlike previous crew members, their dreams/dead mentors are a bit more roundabout, but they still exist. Opening Wano/Pedro's will, Oden and Pedro. We've never seen the tragic thing happen so currently for our nakama prospects. Oden, in Kinemon's mind, was just recently killed, while Pedro JUST died. So the format is different.
Or we can meet some other characters down the road, but man...we're close to the climax here, it'd be weird. anyhoot, just some thoughts.

RE: Chapter 905: A Beautiful World
so…what if Green Bull is...GIN!?!!? Gin was shown to be pretty strong but misguided. He ate sanji's food about 3 years ago in story (if east blue and paradise took about 10 months, it makes sense), which would be a fitting last meal to have. maybe he found a devil fruit soon after their encounter and joined the marines during the draft? just spitballin'

RE: Next Strawhat Crewmate (Vol. 6)
nobody seems to be on the kinemon bandwagon, and i don't understand it. Momo is too young to go with the crew, but it was his father's dream to "open up wano" so it seems like Momo would likely try to carry that dream out. He'll pull a Vivi and stay in Wano after it's all said and done, but send out his most trusted retainer to see the world, much like Oden went out with his guys on whitebeard and roger's ship. Kinemon's been with them since punk hazard, he has a ridiculous personality, is pretty strong, but not overwhelmingly so (so like, brook level) and has a funky devil fruit. he's far more likely to join than anyone else being mentioned. everyone hates ceasar clown, carrot is a shallow character, so is pedro, not to mention that all the minks are first and foremost loyal to Momo and his clan. None of the vinsmokes have any shot whatsoever of joining.

RE: Next Bounty Predictions (Dressrosa Arc)
Ok, longtime lurker here. Just thought i'd post some bounty thoughts.
Luffy
550,000,000 for defeating doflamingo, ceasar clown and oneshotting a pacafistaZoro
240,000,000 for his showing against the pacifista and strength according to tashigiSanji
180,000,000 for his showing against the pacifista and standing up to vergo, according to tashigiFranky
144,000,000 for blowing up vegapunk's lab, his showing against baby5/buffalo and his very public fights this arc. His bounty should rise fastest early because he uniquely cannot get stronger, so it should rise quickly then plateauRobin
110,000,000 just for being visibleBrook
77,000,000 for being the famous soul king, bounty upgrade for being a strawhatUsopp

RE: One Piece Chapter 742 - I'll always be close to you
Not really a fan of the ending,i konw it was to be expected from onepiece, but i would have preferred to see some ingenuous trick frok usopp instead of just dumb luck and a dofla executive scared by a face.Oda seems to have lost the taste for a good fight, since nowadays they are all off-screen….that or he does not have the creativity anymore to create lots of different moves for every new fruit like in the past.
the flasback was ok,but since i notoriously have an heart made of stone, the touching part was wasted on me.
The woman in the birth of becca panel was probably just the obstetrician who helped scarlet to give birth to becca,or do you think that king riku, kyros or a child viola were able to assist her?
As to how people now know that becca is the grandaughter of king riku,i think dofla just spilled the beans of that, just to add some suffering to becca,s private hell
Anyway, now that sugar is down, the real battle can begin,so i'm not complaining
It seems that oda has been off-panelling only the losses. Smoker vs. Doflamingo. Sunny crew vs. Jora. Law vs. Fuji and Doflamingo. Usopp vs. Trebol. Franky vs. Dd family. Makes sense, i think, since it'd be a downer to watch the heroes fail. Necessary to the plot, but not what makes the fights fun. Usopp will shine again at some point, franky's been a beast the past couple arcs. We're still gonna get a bunch of good one on ones which will inevitably be victories, so i'm not upset about the manner of Usopp's victory.

RE: Chapter 736: " Executive Officer Diamante"
Same here. If the wall was made of metal, he would be made of metal too. Also explains his growth. the thicker the wall, the bigger he becomes.
Pica seems like the absorbing man from marvel comics

RE: Chapter 734: "Rommel's Whirlwind"
I don't know if this has been said yet, but i think that Cavendish has no idea about his hakuba personality. When he first talks to luffy, he mentions that he never really tried hard to achieve his bounty. I get the feeling that anytime he is hard pressed, he falls asleep and becomes hakuba, then wakes up not knowing what happened.
