Hey there, with the recent chapter revelation of Gecko Moria, I noticed that his body isn't THAT massive. When I heard he was a giant I originally thought that he'd be the size of the Elbaf or something. But when you look at him, he might be the same size as Whitebeard (possibly smaller). I'm a bit dissappointed by this, since I really wanted to see what a Gear 3rd giant pistol would do to a regular Elbaf giant. Anyone else agree here?
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

Gecko Moria, not an elbaf giant?

RE: Is the manga better than the anime?
I personally enjoy both, although I always feel more anxious for the next chapter of manga than the next episode of anime. Some people prefer the authenticity of the manga, and sometimes the art is nicer too. Also, it requires a bit more imagination, which can be fun. By this i mean that readers can make up what the voices are like and visualize the motions of the characters. Whereas the quality of the voices and effects in the anime is entirely dependent on the animators. Although i do have to give credit to some of those episodes. The comedy scenes are usually masterfully done. Either way, they're both good.

Blackbeard's non-devil fruit abilities? [spoilers]
Yeah, so how strong do you think Blackbeard was pre-devil fruit?
Here's what I get so far:- He gave Shanks his scar (at least 10 years ago)
- He didn't have a devil fruit ability when he fought Shanks
- Nobody knew why BB killed Sacchi until now. Meaning that nobody knew what devil fruit he stole.
- Despite Shanks' lack of knowledge about the dark fruit, he warned WB that Ace wasn't ready yet to fight BB.
So, considering these factos, do you think Blackbeard could've beaten Ace without the Dark Dark fruit? I mean it seemed like he would've gotten his ass kicked, but I'm really curious to see how he gave Shanks that damn scar… and how he would've taken over WB.

RE: Soldier Dock System
Yeah I have to agree. We can't even build a ship in 2 days in our modern age.

RE: Soldier Dock System
I'm sure it's just a defense system with a crap ton of fire power. I mean, Franky did build ships that could kill Sea Kings. Plus since the Straw Hats don't have access to a bunch of sea stone like the marines do, they'll need something to fend off all those insanely massive fishies.
By the way, did anyone else think it took surprisingly little time for the water 7 shipwrights to build the new ship? I mean, ok, I understand it's a manga and the strawahts couldn't be stuck there for a long time, AND that the characters have super-human strength and abilities…. but it should have taken more than a week to build. Just something that bothered me.
I wonder what the ship will be named? -
RE: How much has Luffy improved?
WAIT. How can people think that Luffy hasn't improved since the beginning of One Piece? It's practically anime law that characters get stronger as the story progresses. Hell Zoro even explained to Nami on the Rocketman how they had all developed, whether they realized it or not. The more you fight, the better you become. Simple as that.
And on a personal note, i think that Luffy could KO Arlong in a matter of seconds at this point. If he manages to get Croc wet, even for a minute, he could go gear 2nd and beat him in no time. He'd still be tough though. I mean, he was a shichibukai. -
RE: Zoro's Sensei?
Whoa wait, the shining part of the sword is the blade. The tip and entire side of the blade is visible in that panel, when it shouldn't be at all if the blade was hitting the paper head-on. You see what I mean? The sword looks wider, like this ====> against the paper, when it SHOULD look really thin, like this –---
Yeah, well anyway, the point is that he's a good swordsman that was trying to get a point across -_- -
RE: Zoro's Sensei?
Yeah, I'm sure Zoro's sensei is a formidable swordsman–-probably not as strong as Zoro, but still strong. And I think a lot of people are missing the point of the sensei's lesson. If you look at the picture of when he swings his sword, it's clear that he hits the paper with only the side of the sword. NOT THE BLADE.

Shanks officially handicapped? [possible spoilers]
Yeah, so with the recent chapter of One Piece, we get a flashback image of a younger Shanks and Buggy, back when they were on Gol D. Roger's crew. I'm sure people noticed that Shanks was holding his sword with only his LEFT hand in the flashback. Soooo, wouldn't this imply that Red Hair was originally a left handed fighter and could have been stronger before the luffy/sea king incident? I ask this because a lot of people out there believe that Shanks is just as strong if not stronger than the time before he met Luffy.
On another note, if Shanks was able to duel with Whitebeard and come out of it relatively unscaved, wouldn't that make him an equal to Gol D. Roger? I mean, they probably didn't have a serious fight, but a duel's a duel. Kinda makes me appreciate the pirate king less.

Franky an honorary member?
who here thinks that franky will be like vivi and stay an honorary strawhat? with the latest chapter, and the whole "i'd like to build a ship for you" thing, it sounds very reminiscent to tom's words. to me, franky would like to be considered a life long friend of luffy and co. but not join them. plus franky's relationship with iceberg and the others has improved drastically, so i see no reason for the funny cyborg to leave water 7.
i do hate the idea though, since franky has become one of my favorite characters so far in one piece. hope he makes a kickass ship.
