Ok, so what's you idea? Going for an inactive person, or someone you believe may be primed?
Dude, you literally just bolded where I said I wouldn't be factoring in someone potentially being primed just yet. And on top of that, there are more options then those two. As you can obviously tell, I haven't let off of you. Now if Crys fails to show up and contribute today then I'll be all for lynching her. Inactives don't need to be a focus of discussion other then us prodding them to post. We all know and agree that they are detrimental.
@Huschel:Do you see how it was Jabber and Wooden who brought up the firefighter today?
@SpaceCowboy:Yup. I'm waiting for them to reply. Especially Wooden.
No I didn't, where on earth are the two of you getting that from?

RE: Mafia 57: Keeping it Simple
Alright so I agree that Shinobu is likely not primed, either due to being mafia or having a huge target on his back. At some point and time I might start considering who's more likely to be primed when deciding who to vote, as I'd rather accidentally lynch a primed townie then a non-primed one, but not this soon.
@Space:@SUDK: Even if you completely missed my answer to your question, you ended up leaving a vote on me, which was a (third) wagon that would hardly gain traction, especially because you werent here to advocate fo it. Do you feel like your vote was wasted?
Seriously? This coming from the guy who started a 4th wagon.
@Kitsune: Yesterday you were very much in favor of a lynch, I get that you overslept but you have to understand how bad that looks, your only saving grace at this point is that crys still hasn't showed up since her first post and is the biggest inactive liability at this point. Otherwise I'd see you as the top inactive target. -
RE: Mafia 57: Keeping it Simple
Shinobu, why on earth would you claim now? There isn't a single vote currently on you?
-
RE: Mafia 57: Keeping it Simple
At this point I’m willing to vote Shinobu as well. At the very least his lack understanding the parameters tells me he isn’t our firefighter.
-
RE: Mafia 57: Keeping it Simple
Space I get and actually agree that crys is more detrimental then Shinobu right now, but you claim that they both are. Starting a fourth wagon with so little time left is pretty much the same as pushing for a no lynch, except of course it causes you to appear in favor of a lynch.
And honestly Kitsune is just as much if not more of a concern then crys. As he stated that lynching should be the main priority but hasn’t really given any suspects or put down a vote. Why is crys the only one getting your attention? -
RE: Mafia 57: Keeping it Simple
And it's still the one with the most reasonable reason.
SUDK voted for me because I didn't answer a question… that I did answer. I don't buy Huschel's vote on Shuhan. I already explained why.
The only one I could see myself voting would be the one on Shinobu. So what’s your opinion on Shinobu? Would you have voted him if he’d had more votes?
-
RE: Mafia 57: Keeping it Simple
I get that Le crys isn’t here, which makes her as bad as a no Lynch advocate, but adding a 4th wagon at this point is detrimental only 3 hrs or so left. Honesty SuDK starting a third was excessive as is.

RE: Mafia 57: Keeping it Simple
@Shinobu:
In my head; day 1, no lynch. Day 2, 0-1 doused, possible information on who is targeted.
Which would give us some actual lead, however possibly outing firefighter for a N2 kill.
But if firefighter doesnt reveal themselves D2, then we could potentially show 2 people that have been targeted on those nights. Which would not only clear those people but give us a better idea on who might be mafia. How exactly are we supposed to gain information Day 2 based on who was primed? We won't know who was primed until after they've already been ignited.
-
RE: Mafia 57: Keeping it Simple
So here's some of the thoughts I have on some people and things.
Nothing Huschel has done makes him seem scum to me. The hypo firefighter is a most risky move for either side to implement and mostly comes down to whether the firefighter is revealed before the arsonists make their first ignition. Still, I'd expect the arsonists to be against it, perhaps not publicly, but I'd be most surprised for one of them to put the idea forward. The lack of investigative roles makes me think they'll play conservatively. That being said, I don't think them going for the win once they think they have numbers is much of a risk, unless of course one of them is feeling the heat.
Wasn't super happy about him voting for inactives before the day was even half over, seems a bit soon, but he took it down after he showed so to each his own I guess. The no lynch crowd is a concern, as I really think it's detrimental for us not to use our lynches. I understand that no lynching day 1 might gain us an extra day to talk, but you're assuming a perfect storm for arsonists(no scum lynched, no primed lynched, complete firefighter failure). I don't necessarily think both mafia are on this train of thought, I'm in agreement with Kitsune's lone post of substance.
I don't get the assumption that the mafia don't know who each other are. The example role pms had an [insert player name] spot on the arsonist pm. Not sure if this was just missed or intentionally misleading. Care to go into detail about your assumption Jabs?

RE: Mafia 57: Keeping it Simple
True, it's not that straight-forward. Let's say you were an arsonist and we'd be at the point where you could decide to kill two doused players with three Forest players having been lynched already. Would you go for the win or would you wait?
I don’t quite understand the purpose of the question. Obviously they go for the win, the firefighter succeeding just means they won’t be able to ignite as many as they think.
@Shuhan:Wooden: How do you feel about lynching inactives.
I’d be okay with it, day one doesn’t give us as much to go on so it’s a reasonable fallback option. We’re a long ways from anyone being inactive, only about 3 hours into the day.
-
RE: Mafia 57: Keeping it Simple
Keep in mind it is also assuming the firefighter fails in both attempts.
-
RE: Mafia 57: Keeping it Simple
I'm in agreement with beginning the lynching right away. Arsonists can't kill anyone tonight and probably won't kill anyone until they have at least 2 or 3 primed. The longer we wait to start lynching the more opportunities the arsonists get to prime trees. The 7-2 ratio appears designed to give us enough room for error for this exact purpose.

RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
Foolio, how did you know what all the items were named?
-
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
A pm forging item? Yeah town was screwed from the offset with something like that. Oh well.
I was a 1-shot tracker, used it on Space night 2. Hence why I theorized that the mafia chose not to go anywhere. Also I totally screwed up and thought yesterday ended at 5pm and not 9am. My bad, though I would have hammered Jabs anyway.
-
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
Wait, there were 3 mafia? How is that even fair?
-
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
@Wooden, do you still suspect Jabberwok? What do you think of the fact that SpaceCowboy hopped on his wagon? I have my own thoughts but I'd like to hear yours first.
Yes I do. I'll go into detail farther down.
Space switching his vote to him tells me that they most certainly were not working together. Knowing what Space is now makes it very clear that he was following a common mafia strategy of being against the biggest suspect of the day(that he knows isn't mafia), but willing to target if necessary. That way he can get the lynch in and still say "I told you so". Of course this doesn't mean that Jabs is innocent.
As you mentioned the item shop was critical to Jabs' reasoning for claiming and his defense. While the setup that seems likely now does lend itself to vanillas being more likely, it absolutely crushes Jabs' argument, period. While Chester posting here hinting of a shop is one thing, the fact Jabs claims to have gotten direct communication from Shuhan makes it seem as if the item shop is certain, and yet, no shop. So until a shop shows up Jabs' story is looking pretty bogus to me. -
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
I would assume that all killing actions would happen at once unless otherwise stated. Shuhan, is that a question you can answer for us?
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
So I think we can all agree that we should be lynching today. There should only be one scum left so we can afford a mislynch at this juncture.
-
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
Do you think it’s possible that Space elected to not target anyone? He wasn’t exactly high on most people’s suspects list. Perhaps he feared running the risk of being tracked or killing someone who was being watched.
-
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
Wooot!
I don’t know who did what but good job.Now where’s our item shop?
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Both blocking a kill and killing a scum seems pretty unlikely for a town with limited numbers and an alleged Bonilla townie. Especially since Space didn’t have any heat on him previously. This leads me to believe that a third party is indeed at work and has likely killed the only mafia in the game.
The only way this effects our scum hunt is that we probably won’t be able to rely on searching for anyone Space collaborated with. -
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
No ones here to hammer Jabs either. Unless Foolio shows up to switch to Shinobu it looks like a no Lynch :-/
-
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
Vote Lynch: Jabberwok
I'm with Foolio in preferring Jabs as a target. Shinobu strikes me more as misunderstanding a few things, that being said it is enough that I'm willing to switch in order to achieve a lynch. I'll be able to come back on to do so if needed all the way up until the lynch.
-
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
Yes, I did say that one mafia sounded unbalanced, and I also said that I prefer focusing one target at a time. That's really only limited to me, however, as I don't like being pulled in lots of different directions, it helps me to collect the clutter in my head. The reason I can do this is because there are other players who have other targets, so it's not like they'll be getting ignored. If I start to sense that two certain people seem to be in cahoots, at that point I can start to focus on 2 at once.
You seem to be trying to imply that I ignore all the other players, which simply isn't true. -
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
I agree with Foolio that 1 mafia seems too unbalanced. The alternative is 1 mafia/1 third party, but since we’ve seen no evidence of a third party I’m considering that the least likely of the scenarios.
So yes, I think there are 2 mafia.
I notice you haven’t included yourself on that list. Care to do so? -
RE: The Muppets
I for one, would love another literary classic turned into a Muppet movie. Treasure Island and Christmas Carol are still my favorites.

RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
Tell me exactly what you had for breakfast! It could be critical information!
I actually didn't have any :(
But I did get coffee before being in charge of about 17 kids at once. So that's something.I don't know that flying under the radar is exactly the right term. The two least active people have been you and SuDK. You've both had busy schedules irl and have been doing your best to post anyway. So it seems likely that the mafia hasn't aroused much suspicion yet, but that's probably not for lack of activity.
Flying under the radar doesn't necessarily have to do with activity. Lack of activity gets noticed, hence you pinpointing SUDK and I, but you also have to consider any that does just enough to stay out of the spotlight while appearing to be a productive townie.
Ok, so if I read this correctly, we lynch someone today other than Jabber, the mafia kills someone during the evening and then on D3 we somehow figure out that there are actually 2 mafia and we Lynch Jabber?
Or in that situation, we already lost the game.Your reply to Shinobu makes me think that you want a lynch today, but at the same time your post seems to indicate you want to spare Jabber and lynch him if we find out he's lying. So who's the number 1 candidate to have a rope around his neck?
I wouldn't say that I want to spare Jabs. I was laying out my entire thought process on the matter. I analyzed everything for myself, but I still don't believe Jabs on his claim. I didn't want to leave anything unsaid, so I left it all out there in case you come to a different conclusion about Jabs claim.
@SpaceCowboy:would you guys be fine with a 24 hour extention?
Yes, you'll find my vote for that at the end of this post.
@Shinobu:@Everyone: What is your stance when it comes to me being next on the block? Cause Foolio clearly likes the idea of it.
Do you think overall i should really be next? If so why?I try to do things one suspect at a time unless I think I'm seeing interaction that reeks of scumbuddiness, which I haven't seen yet. I do find it odd you feel the need to send out a massive plea for help. I will agree that many of your posts have caused some puzzled looks on my face. I just haven't seen any of them as being purposefully detrimental to the town.
Vote: Time Extend
Oh and Shuhan, Space voted for Shinobu, not Jabberwok.
-
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
One day, I'm going to finally get the hang of this multi-quote thing. one day….
@Shinobu:2 thoughts on this: A lynch today would go against what I personally think will benefit town. As if it is more outnumbered terms, actively seeking a lynch would have more chances in resulting in a dead member of town, which is always gonna be a bad thing.
A lynch always has a greater chance of killing a townie, it's because of that fact that the game keeps going. This is going to be a short game, we can't just sit on our butts and wait while the mafia picks people off just so that we increase our chances of hitting one. If you aren't happy with the available evidence then start trying to dig some more up.
@Foolio:Also why are people calling Jabberwok's claim a "soft claim?" What's soft about it? He literally stated he was a Vanilla Townie. We don't know what his item is (and I don't want to know) but that's irrelevant if his claim is that it does nothing.
Is that not the term for it? I always figured this is what was used when someone casually claimed in the middle of post without making it more declarative.
@Space:@Woody: Howdo you read Jabber's claim His claim as a vanilla does give me some insight into the amount of mafia we're dealing with. If he is being truthful then I'd say one mafia is likely, 5/2 is much too heavy in the mafia's favor without giving the town a major power role advantage. You don't normally see games with just one vanilla town where there is one vanilla there is another. Perhaps if the store had opened sooner then the mafia advantage could have been negated but alas, it hasn't. Of course, if he isn't telling the truth then it opens it back up for a 5/2, in which case we lynch that sucker.
@Jabberwok:I'd really like to here more from SuDK and Wooden since they've each only posted once today. Wooden in particular hasn't posted in the last 14 hours with no real explanation for his inactivity this morning.
I stated pretty plainly in my last post that I'd be back in the afternoon, wasn't aware I needed to give a detailed account of how my morning was spent.@Jabs: You say that 1 mafia is the most likely scenario, which as I said I agree with if you're telling the truth. Which means priority number one should be lynching while it is still advantageous for the town to do so. You don't have much in the way of suspicions, do you think that the mafia might be flying under the radar for now?
@Foolio: Let's assume Jabs is being truthful, do you still think that there would be 2 mafia in that situation?
-
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
Well that’s a tricky ability. Would have been more useful with a larger number of players.
Just got home from my work trip and I’m mostly just checking in before I collapse in bed. A few highlights with more sometime tomorrow afternoon.
-A Lynch should definitely happen today, no one is really all that inactoce(I might be the chiefest sinner there), so we’ll have plenty of dialogue to work off of. Even more so if we keep the conversation going. Something to note, however, is that if there are 2 mafia then we’re basically at mislynch and lose.
-I’d have no issues putting a Lynch vote down right now on Jabs after his soft claim, but there is still lots of time in the day and enough people have called him out on it that he should respond.
-Chester is taking his sweet sinister time getting us the shop, I almost wonder if it’ll be coming at all. -
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
I had hoped to come in and post more about setup, but I’m about to go on a 5 hr drive that will keep tied up til after Day 1 ends. In case someone brings it up(as someone often does), I’m not in favor of lynching anyone at this point.
-
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
@Shinobu:
Hot damn, the madness has begun, not much of a statistics guy, but id like to think 2 maf sounds about right.
Seeing first day (fun) lynch votes makes me shake my head every time.Did I miss a Lynch vote or are you talking about the one I posted before the game started?
-
RE: Shuhan's playhouse theater presents: Chester's Revenge
If there are 8 players then I’d say it’s likely a 6/2 town/scum ratio. That’s assuming third parties aren’t involved in the setup, and I’m not prepared to go on a witch hunt speculating whether one exists or not while no evidence is available. I won’t criticize anyone who wants to speculate about it, but don’t let it distract you from a mafia that’s guaranteed to exist.
Second thought(typing on mobile and don’t feel like erasing). Are we sure there’s 8 players? Shuhan only had us pick from 7 items. Did someone not get one?
The lack of a setup post is concerning. Especially considering the trolliness that Chester displayed in his previous installment. Hopefully it’s just because Shuhan had to run off to work and he’ll give us one upon returning.
