Can't believe the new anime is only a matter of days away. I personally cannot wait and by the small trailer it looks like they've done a great job of keeping with the style of the original series. Never expected anything less of Madhouse nowadays though.

Yeah, it's not too bad though. The main content of the game is all intact but all the blood is gone and replaced by black clouds when you finish off an enemy. Same as the Japanese version. I believe only the NA release had all the blood. Even with the censorship it still got a 16+ rating from the classification board.
We're normally okay here in England as far as censorship goes, it's Germany who normally get the raw deal of it. If a game is deemed unsuitable it just won't be released. Take Gears of War for example. Pretty major released just to be thrown to the side!
Started No More Heroes recently, really sweet game, even with the European censorship. Love the constant nods to otaku culture and the gameplay is surprisingly tight. Also finally started working on Call of Duty 4 too. Amazing, although I'm sure you didn't need me to tell you.
Otherwise not a whole lot else. Got plenty of games in the pipeline, just finding time to play them is the problem.
Can't wait for these. Will be nice to reach the conclusion of Skypiea, and if we do get G8 afterwards, that would be the icing on the cake.

Edit: Also forgot to mention, if you live in the UK, Godaiger in my Kinnikuman MAL Club spotted an article in December's Fighting Spirit Magazine for Kinnikuman's 29th anniversary. Only a brief two pages, but really sweet to see in an ordinary MMA/fighting magazine. I've provided his scans in the spoiler tags, but I'm gonna try and get my copy next chance I get.

Unfortunately, the manga side of things isn't really that much better in terms of translations, but there are 4 and a half volumes available. You can get the first 33 chapters here, and a little bit more can be found on the Dynamite Glove forum by a user called ghrghr here.
The anime can actually be found raw but with English scripts up to episode 33 too, if you search for 'Joe' on Tokyo Toshokan. Dunno if they'll be active anymore, but may be worth a look.

The Ashita no Joe movie is coming out on DVD in America, under the name Champion Joe. It's not clear as to whether or not they plan to release both movies, but it's nice to see something at all.

Oooh, I do love me some typing games. Had a chance to play the Lupin Typing game while I was in Japan. Some little arcade in Kabukicho had it, so I had a go on it. It had romaji, so it was easy enough to play, but typing out words I have little to no recollection of was a tad confusing. Overall, decent game, especially if you like Typing of the Dead and such.

Personally, I don't replay many games, and I don't think No More Heroes will be any different. I can see myself playing through it to completion and then tucking away neatly on my shelf. I'll definitely be buying it though, looks pretty sweet.
Super Mario Galaxy on the other hand, I can see myself replaying quite a bit, even after getting the 120 stars. Mario games have great replay value, and Galaxy is the best for some time, in my opinion.

Living in England, I don't get to see a whole lot other than what I've caught on YouTube, but from what I've seen, without their piss taking the show is more or less just like reading from a review, which one could just as easily read at IGN or somewhere.

Regardless of the reviews, I'll still most likely be picking it up when it reaches England. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if it was released at a slightly budgeted price, either.

More or less what I was expecting, but I'd like to see it reaching a bit more towards 70%.
As much as I love both versions, for me it's gotta be the Japanese original, hands down. That's not to say I'm not enjoying the dub, which I am (and will be even moreso when the DVDs come around), it just doesn't give me the same feeling I get from watching the Japanese episodes.

Yeah, DMP released 3 volumes and then called it quits, putting it on 'hiatus'. They said if the fans showed interest, they'd carry on with it, but I'm not holding my breath. Which is a damn shame, 'cause it's actually a pretty neat manga with some great characters.
Nice to see Saizen finally getting started on the series. I remember them announcing their intentions to do it what seems like years ago.
Hopefully this will finally increase the awareness of the series! It really does deserve to be watched, but with it being so old it's hard to introduce people to it.
I'll be buying it, without a doubt. I've been dying for the opportunity to own a domestic release of One Piece for years, and with Funimation doing such a great job I have no reason not to.
All of them, ideally, but I'd love to see movie 4 over any others. It's personally my favourite of the lot, and definitely seems the most suitable for Funi to release at this point. Movie 6 would likely be my next choice.
Anyhoo, instead, you could just say "Thanks Vegapunk, I hope to watch your HD encoded version of the movie" If you have anything to say besides that, You're just being stupid.
I'm afraid there isn't a HD version of the movie available. Vegapunk's encoded release will be taken from the Japanese DVD release, and as such will be at DVD resolution.
Anyway, not to be rude, I just want to say I somewhat agree with EvilGamerX and the others. By all means I think you should release your encoded version of movie 8, it's clear that you've put a lot of effort into it already, and it's also just what those who cannot get the Funi releases need. But I think you should be careful in not attracting Funi's attention.
With the group being so far ahead in terms of episodes, it means Funi will likely just turn a blind eye in their issuing of a C&D notice, but when you're releasing a movie that they're bringing out on domestic DVD in the next couple of months, it seems you're potentially putting yourselves in a great deal of risk.
Please don't take this as an insult. Everyone is extremely grateful for what Vegapunk do for One Piece, it's just it seems like this will be putting you in Funi's bad books, especially with their current stand against piracy and trend of handing out C&D letters.
Either way, I'll still be nabbing your movie to burn and then purchasing the Funi DVD release come February. So keep up the good work, and good luck with this release! Let's hope it works out for you.

I believe there are usually 3/4 months in between the box sets.

Ugh, I hated that Ren & Stimpy series. Just too unnecessarily crude, in my opinion. Which is a shame, 'cause I love the old Nickelodeon episodes.

On-topic, I have to say I'm continually impressed by the dub. I'm sure nothing I can say won't have been said before, but everything just seems so right now. Granted, Luffy needs to be a bit more consistent, and Robin could definitely do without the stick up her arse, but as things are I'd say it's looking pretty great.
Also quite liked "We Are" on the Knock-up Stream, and I can't wait until we hear the improved version.

I'd say it's certainly worth picking up. While it doesn't quite have the same appeal that the original Kinnikuman has for me, it's definitely not to be shunned. Give it a try and see what you think.

Chaos is a pretty sweet character. He definitely does "cool" better than Jade and is actually likable. Kicking the shit out of Buffaloman is pretty impressive.

Yeah, that's where the anime ended in Japan, but the manga has lasted much longer and is still ongoing. It wouldn't have even gotten that far had America not commissioned more episodes. Guess we have something to be grateful for to 4kids and their fans.

If you still have the vector file (.psd or whatever) for the coloured version, you could probably just resize the colour layers to the higher resolution scan, rather than recolour the whole thing. It might need some tweaking to make it quite right, but it would save some time and make a much higher quality image. Great picture, by the way!
I think I might contribute something towards the project sometime soon. Might be nice to get something from a British fan. =P

The only exam I've ever cheated on was my GCSE French writing exam. We had to write an essay on a pre-defined topic in an allotted time, and we were allowed to take our own dictionaries into the exam (because the school didn't have enough to go around). Before the exam, of course, the teachers and moderators would quickly check everyone's dictionaries to make sure they hadn't got the essay all written out on the back page or something.
Now, I was pretty bad at French. There was no way I was gonna be able to keep writing for 90 minutes by myself, so in preparation, starting from the letter E, I sneakily wrote a few sentences at the start of each letter of the alphabet and covered them up with small pieces of paper so they wouldn't notice when flipping through.
I didn't get caught, but even still, I only managed to scrape a C grade out of it. Probably because my essay was just a Babel Fish translation. >_>
Other than that, I've never really cheated on a proper test. It's not so bad at high school level as you can generally get through regardless, but at if you feel the need to cheat when at university, I just see it as putting off the inevitable.
