The final move of Gear Fourth: Model Snakeman will be for Luffy to unhinge his jaw and eat Katakuri whole.

In subsequent chapters, Luffy won't get his usual post-meal fat belly, but rather, a lump larger than his body which starts in his neck in the scene after he wins.

In the subsequent scene, it will be slightly smaller and in his shoulders.

In the scene after, smaller still and in his torso.

When they arrive at Wano, Luffy will then reveal the secret technique of snakeman: molting. He will shed his skin and the new Luffy will emerge: he looks just like current Luffy but a bit older, and Garp's height.

The final scene of One Piece that Oda has envisioned from the beginning involves Luffy dying from an allergic reaction to a bee sting from a perfectly normal bee.

      1. It was stated by AUTHOR. If he said he was the strongest then he meant exactly what he said.

That was a title he was known by, not necessarily a literal description that he was, at the moment, a combatant that no one in the world would be able to beat.

      1. I don't care if it was hax devil fruit or not.

    • RE: Chapter 835: The Nation of Souls

      @Murcielago:

      1. So what ? He was titled "the strongest" by author, not me.

Based on his history and reputation.

Just looke at the vice-admirals : Vergo was one-shotted by Law

Thanks to being overconfident when facing a hax devil fruit power. And only after fighting (and being injured by) Sanji, Smoker, and Law.

      Smoker was one-shotted by Doflamingo

We didn't see him get one-shotted. We only saw one attack before the scene cut away. And Smoker was already injured from previous fights anyhow.

      Maynard was one-shotted by Bartolomeo

We don't actually know anything about what happened in that fight, but based on how Bartolomeo's powers work, we have a pretty good indication that it was mostly about Maynard injuring himself, and not about Bartolomeo "oneshotting" him.

      Bastille was one-shotted by Sabo.

Oh no, a Vice Admiral was one-shotted by the #2 member of the Revolutionaries, who was able to hang with people like Jesus Burgess before he got the mera mera no mi? How weak of him! Wait, no, that doesn't indicate weakness in the slightest.

And you telling me they are not weak?

Yeah, I am. Plus, you might not have noticed, but the WG has, like, a couple dozen Vice Admirals, many of whom have likely been Vice Admirals longer than Maynard or Smoker.

Plus yonko has 2 or 3 monsters on his team that can destroy all marine forces (except admirals ofc).

      Woo, more baseless assumptions!

One bln worh Jack (Kaido's top fighter) might lose to Bartolomeo ? I shan't even comment this…

Because you don't have a good response. Yes, I know.

      1. Who told you they wouldn't ?

It's shown throughout their entire portrayals. If it was that easy to make them work together, they wouldn't be Yonko.

Remember that they won it EASILY.

Not really. And that's despite having just about every concievable advantage, including: a hostage, fortifications, home ground, overwhelming numerical superiority, a weakened foe, secret weapons…

And Mihawk, Doflamingo, Garp, Sengoku didn't even fight.

We didn't see everything that happened at Marineford, but: Mihawk fought Vista, Doflamingo went after Oars Jr., and Garp attacked Marco.

It's just your assumption that they were just sitting on their asses the whole time.

Plus WB had on his side Jinbe, Crocodile, Ivankov. They are pretty strong you know.

Really? None of them could stand up to an admiral for more than a couple seconds, so I'd think you'd call them worthless and weak like you suggested the Vice Admirals are.

    • RE: Chapter 835: The Nation of Souls

      @Murcielago:

I saw everything during the marineford war. The strongest yonko couldn't handle with Kizaru or Aokiji.

You mean, the battle where it was made expressly clear that Whitebeard had been greatly weakened by his illness, and then was injured (impaled, in fact) by one of his own allies before he even started fighting?

And "couldn't handle with Kizaru or Aokiji"… what? The fact that other people intervened doesn't mean he couldn't deal with them; it meant dealing with them was a distraction - remember, he wasn't there just to fight; he was there to rescue Ace. Everything else was secondary.

Others are trash. Vice-admirals (except Garp) are weak, Bartolomeo proved it.

He proved that one Vice-Admiral can lose to a hax devil fruit power he doesn't know about in an enclosed space. That doesn't imply "weak" in any way, shape, or form - hell, there's no reason to believe Jack would have been able to do any better in that fight.

If marine attacks them, they can join forces in front of danger.

If they would all join forces… but they wouldn't, because they hate each other as much as they hate the Marines. They'd go after the weakened remnants after the battle, or take advantage of the distraction on both sides. Even if two of them might team up, there's no way all four would.

That's why there are shichibukais. It's called balance.

The balance exists because the Yonko are each strong enough to pose a hazard to the WG, but aren't willing to work together. Remember that the Marines + Shichibukai won a battle with a very old and sick member of the Yonko only after preparing an ambush at their massively-fortified HQ, and using a prisoner to prevent Whitebeard from just sinking the island outright. Had they met in open battle under virtually any other circumstances, they might not have won at all. They almost certainly couldn't take on two at once - remember how the war stopped when Shanks showed up? Even "no restraint" Akainu was like "I'm done" at that point.

There was definitely build up for conqueror's haki and observation haki throughout the series, but I can't think of any for armament haki (which is what most people mean when they mention "haki") prior to Saobody.

The very first logia fruit introduced was Smoker, which doesn't directly introduce or show armament haki, but definitely implies a need for it. How the hell else is Luffy - a brawler - ever supposed to be capable of taking on Smoker?

      @Murcielago:

Totally disagree with this. Admirals are the greatest power of the marine. Yonko are the greatest power of the pirates. So they should be on the same level since they are enemies. Otherwise marines would have been destroyed.

That makes zero sense. There are three admirals (plus a fleet admiral); if one admiral was as strong as one of the Yonko, then the Marines should have been able to take down the Yonko. But if one of the Yonko is stronger than an admiral, it's still risky to take on the WG, and if they did, they'd have to worry about being attacked by another of the Yonko.

Mama literally is the weakest yonko.

That's quite the baseless assumption you're making.

Do you think there could be a reason why they didn't get their number chapters?

If Chopper had gotten his at Drum, it would have tipped off that Vivi wouldn't join.

With Robin, her "joining the crew" moment was right after Alabasta, but giving her a numbered chapter then would have spoiled the drama of Water 7 and Enies Lobby. I guess Oda could have given her one post-Enies Lobby, but she just kind of naturally rejoined once she was rescued (her defining moment on the topic was while she was still held prisoner), so it didn't really fit. Plus, it would have been two such chapters within just a handful of chapters, and involved 3 different characters - I can see why Oda might not want to handle it that way.

Not exclusively, although also that. I guess I'm a little unclear about how actively people steer the Sunny while they're sailing. Is someone always at the helm? Like always?

Well, it's a little unclear in One Piece, but in general, any time a ship is sailing, you'd want someone at the wheel - otherwise, the motion of the water could move the rudder or even just alter the course of the ship. Not as huge a deal in our world (though not entirely inconsequential), but on the Grand Line, I think it would need constant supervision, and that certainly seemed to be an issue when they first entered the Grand Line.

Ace was a pirate for three years. Marco has been a pirate for decades. Even if they were similarly strong, Marco (and likely, people like Jack) would have had more time to build infamy and show how strong they are. Luffy isn't a strong, important character because he's a Monkey (although being a D is special),

I mean, he kind of is (every member of the Monkey family we've seen has either been established as ridiculously strong, or been implied to be)… but at least Oda gave it a reasonable explanation: his grandfather putting him in mortal peril from an early age to make him strong.

Sanji's origins were not relevant at all until this particular plot point deemed them to be. Usopp being Yasopp's son has been completely irrelevant so far as well.

Sure, but suddenly, we have a family of super-strong people that Sanji came from (potentially as part of the explanation for why he's so unusually strong). The way it's been handled for him and Luffy so far doesn't bug me, but if we got a similar explanation involving Zoro's family, it would bug me.

Yeah, I really hope Oda doesn't go that route: I hate it when series undermine characters' hard work like that by effectively saying "only characters born to the right families can ever really be important".

And while I'm sure a child of Big Mom's can get away with a lot, talking back to her in such a fashion is probably not the healthiest move one can make.

Also, when P & T were shaking in their boots at her rage, the three eyed girl was totally chill.

Sure, but two things make that more understandable:

      1. Pekoms and Tamago were the bearers of bad news, meaning they are the ones most likely to draw her ire.

Again if there were many moons, why is it affecting only Enies Lobby and not the entire world?

I was initially confused by this question, until I realized maxdexter made another post after the one I was referring to. The issue I was referring to has nothing to do with Enies Lobby, it has to do with the fact that the 'planets' all have their orbits in different planes. I have no idea what the explanation for Enies Lobby is.

IF we think that that model those historians (note they were historians not astronomers) was accurate, which you and others are arguing for by bringing up "the various orbits don't share a plane", then the other moons are big enough and close enough to be seen.

Physical models virtually never have the orbits accurate in terms of size: if one were to make one to scale with the Earth 1" in radius, the Moon would be around .25" in radius, and the Earth and Moon would be nearly 5' apart. The point of the models is to show the various bodies and the shape of the system (ie how the other bodies move relative to the planet of interest), not to accurately recreate distances.

But they are not. They see only one moon in the sky not, 2 or 3 ect.

That doesn't mean very much: we rarely have views of the full sky, and different moons could rise and set at different times. Further, some of them could not be easily visible from the surface.

Okay, I've gone and doing some surfing on what realistic affects would be if there was a 2 moon planet

There are planets with 2 or more moons. In fact, Earth is the only planet in the Solar System to have one and only one moon. Mars, for example, has two moons.

One article has gotten me thinking, according to the article, the two moons would eventually crash into each other

That depends on the masses of the bodies and their orbital characteristics.

      @Katzztar:

Well you've convinced me its a geocentric model. […]

There are a couple key differences between a geocentric model and the one in Ohara:

First, but less importantly, as maxdexter explained, the fact that the various orbits don't share a plane.

Secondly, look at the geocentric model you linked. Notice how each object is on a short arm hanging from the long arm from the Earth? That's because, if you view the Earth as unmoving, and everything as orbiting the Earth, during a certain point in the orbital cycle, objects appear to move backwards along their orbits (like this). This is easily observed, and has been known since at least the days of ancient Greece. However, if you look at the model Oda drew, the bodies are attached directly to the hoops describing their orbits.

The model being of a world and its moons would solve both of these problems.
