      @NuFiasco:

      You just said it's getting harder to control, so it being an easy scapecoat like you said is contradicting your original opinion. With this post, You're living by "what ifs" which isn't really…I dunno...Fair?

      I don't know, when a manga character tells you how dangerous it is to use some power, do you take their word for it, or do you actually wanna see it happen. Did you believe the Kaio-ken could kill Goku? Do you think the gears will ever cripple Luffy?
      Expected negative consequences should occasionally arise. Otherwise, what was the point of worrying about them in the first place? If Guts uses the armour a dozen times and both he and everyone else always come out of it alive and relatively uninjured, then it obviously isn't as dangerous as we were led to believe.

      @Thousand:

      Your problem is you're way too fixated on the worst-case scenario being the only way to justify the armor. I didn't like it much my first either. I would have liked somehow Guts to be able to beat the Godhand with pure muscle and strategy. But that's not only wholly unrealistic but completely dumb given these guys can manipulate dimensional rifts with their finger-tips! With that said, Miura has been handling the power-up pretty well. Every time Guts puts on the thing, it's always a big deal wrought with tension and dismay. Everytime he puts it on, he comes out worse physically, mentally and spiritually. The beast inside him grows stronger and hungers inside him even more. And now we find out that it's getting even harder to control. It's extremely apparent, the curse of the armor is a real and legitimate threat. Every time Guts uses it, while he isn't outright massacring allies he is drawing closer and closer to the edge of doing that. It's intentional by Miura and has been hinted at for quite a bit. If it were not for a clever trump card that he set up way in advance, Miura would have written himself into a corner with it because the situation keeps deteriorating to the next level. You can not like it but the way the author has been executing it makes it anything but a cheap power up.

      Yes, yes, its getting harder to control, Guts is getting weaker both physically and mentally, he's getting closer and closer to turning his companions into shark bait, fair enough.
      But think about it this way, what if he keeps using the armour every time a big eldritch abomination tries to eat them, and every time that happens he "almost" kills somebody or he "almost" bleeds out or Schierke "almost" can't bring him back. Wouldn't that be cheap?
      I'm willing to admit that we aren't there yet and that things might change, using the armour might cost him dearly or he might give it up to prevent worse from happening. But the use of the armour already happened too often for my taste.

      @Thousand:

      No consequences? Didn't you see how 3 chapters ago, the power of the armor was getting stronger to the point where Shierke can no longer call Guts back and if it hadn't been a full moon, he would have killed Caska?

      Sigh…but he didn't kill her.
      A writer can tell me how a characters big power abuse could have had a negative consequence if the sun had been blue and pink frogs boogeyed through the forest while chipmunks smoked weed all he wants. Until the armor either kills someone Guts cares about or rips his brain apart it will keep being a cheap power-up.

      The problem with the armor is that it has become a "get out of trouble free card". Yes, we are told that it takes a giant toll on Guts body and that Guts could unwillingly kill a companion while using it. But he hasn't been shown to be any less effective than before, so the damage the armor does obviously isn't crippling his fighting ability yet, and he hasn't killed anyone he didn't want dead yet.
      We are told that this could happen, but if he keeps using the armor on a regular basis without any tangible consequences it will start to seem cheap. And I'm talking about consequences that are more than "losing taste and certain colours"

      @JERK:

      As we've discovered in this thread this isn't actually the case!

      Also I made the point that liking music doesn't make that music fit One Piece. I listen to largely hip-hop, very very few of which would fit One Piece.

      They're still using music they like, excuses about tempo and fitting lyrics be damned. And in their ignorance they also have a limited supply of songs and genre to choose from. Or did I miss someone using a song they dislike just because it fits in with scenes?
      And while you like hip-hop, you probably don't dislike the genres that you think fit One Piece and do consider them good music?

      @JERK:

      Do you seriously think I would be greatly challenged in arguing why buttrock sucks lol.

      No, I actually agree that it sucks, and you'd probably do a good job arguing it. But saying "stop enjoying this, enjoy this instead" is still a dogmatic attitude. I get it, you don't want to crawl through mountain of shit just to find something worth seeing, but thats how entertainment is, internet user generated entertainment even more so.

      It makes sense that people who make AMV's usually prefer to use music they listen to and like. And yes, most of it sucks, but most of anything on the internet sucks. If you try to create a dogma of what music is good and should or shouldn't be used, you open up a completly different can of worms, mostly because music in general has alot to do with personal taste.
      Besides, I don't believe AMV culture in general is salvageable, its not really art, and it won't be run through a quality filter by time like books, music, movies…which means it will always remain a mirror of the present AMV crowd and their taste, so its pretty pointless to argue with them about it.

      You got a point there, I would agree with Isidro but Farnese? When the hell has she done anything? My memory on this series is bad but I don't recall her doing anything major besides helping casca out.

      That is about to change dramatically, as you can see in the latest chapter. But thats really beside the point. My point was that compared to those two in Guts' group, Caska would be a major help. Hell, she'd probably be on par with Serpico as far as battle prowess goes, minus the strategic genius thing. Though it may take some time for her to regain some muscle mass.

      Not really, considering that it's highly possible that she doesn't want to get it back.

      By returning her to normal, Guts is forcing her to bear the burden of what happened. …And it's a pretty damn big burden. Guts trying to bring her to her senses may turn out to be a selfish act rather than a selfless one.

      Yeah, I'm sure Caska likes being a drooling spaz. In fact, Guts should selflessly leave her in the state she is now, let her happily live out the rest of her life counting bugs and having her ass wiped by strangers. Maybe build her a nice cottage somewhere close to the sea, buy her a little pet bunny so she won't be lonely. Perhaps after a while she'll start to like Guts enough and they can have cute retard sex.

      You're missing the point, guns in One Piece are nerfed, because One Piece is a shounen, and heavily melee combat based. Thats why a punch and sword slash will always be more effective then any gun shot. Or are you telling me that we'll ever see an Admiral/Shichibukai/Yonkou go down to a gunshot wound?

      And Whitebeard didn't get taken out by bullets, he was taken out by the hundreds of slashes and bullets, and cannonballs….well you all read that page.

      haki infused bullets, seastone bullets could maybe work as well.. he would OBVIOUSLY know Kizaru was a logia user and therefore would OBVIOUSLY know he could do something in that situation. and Kizaru wouldn't have even payed attention to him if that gun of his was that useless.

      if you could infuse arrows with haki (already seen) then it's likely that you could infuse bullets with haki in a similar way

      Give me one example in the manga where anyone strong got taken out by a gun. The only one I can think of is Hatchan, and he isn't exactly high tier. Beckman threatened Kizaru and then did…absolutely nothing. Van Auger vs. Ace, pathetically inneffective. And its not just Logias or even Devil Fruit users for that matter. Anyone strong either dodges or shrugs off a bullet. All the marines might as well have pea shooters for all the good their guns do.

      The Moonlight boy appeared in a full moon night the last time we saw him. It is a full moon again. Him appearing is perfectly reasonable and in line with what we know and I actually expected it ever since we saw Guts starring into the moon from the ship and asking himself where his son might be now.

      Thats were the term "Lolita" comes from.
      Sure the subculture has nearly nothing to do with the book(as long as pedophil-sex isn`t a part of it) but thats were it all started.
      Dressing like a doll or little innocent girl is what society made now out of it, but the roots are still coming from this.

      Example:
      –Also our relgion is not that anymore what it`s used to be back in time, but still the roots are certain--

      I know, but the point is that you can't use one in connection with the other anymore. The term is from the book, but like with many other things, the japanese took the term and stripped it of its original meaning. Its "attractive and sexually active prepubescent girl" vs "girl who dresses like a victorian doll". Perona is the latter.

      Sooooo. . .

      I'm sure a lot of people will have theorized about this particular scene, but…

      ! Guts's and Casca's son was used for Griffith body, and also, his soul was still intact, as when Griffith subconsciously reacted to save Casca at the Hill of Swords. So, if all the "living essence" of their son was used for Griffith's rebirth, this kid cannot be a reborn child of Guts and Casca. Also, how much time has passed since the Albion Eclipse? Because this child looks quite grown up.So he SHOULDN'T be their son. . .but this whole scene is just screaming "family".

      Well, let's see how things unravel, but if he goes back to the "plot" right now, this is really unexpected.

      EDIT: If the image doesn't show, it's this scene:

      ! http://read.mangashare.com/Berserk/chapter-238/page019.html

      Or maybe the moonlight boy actually uses Griffith's body as a kind of vessel, his powers being augumented by the full moon, so that he can take control of the body and shape it into himself for one night and go after his parents.

      @Malintex_Terek:

      I disagree, Retribution accomplished a lot. It was a whole lot better at capturing post-Eclipse Guts, the first volume or so didn't, because it's fairly clear Miura wasn't sure where to go with the series and by the time he finished Golden Age he had completely different character. There are things volume 1 Guts does that contradict his character in the rest of the series, which doesn't happen in Retribution.

      Well, it could be argued that Guts in the first Volumes was on the verge of a mental breakdown. The memory of the Eclipse was still fresh and he spent all the time since he left Godo's place in complete solitude, fighting for his life every night. Seriously, the various spirits that harassed him during the night were the only company he had, and all of them were actively trying to make him loose it.
      Anyone would start to crack under these conditions and start acting weird and out of character. Who knows what would've happened with Guts if Puck hadn't come along to play the morality pet/companion/first aid kit.
      So its more a case of Guts' personality getting broken to pieces by the eclipse and by all the mind screw that came after. But with Puck's help his mental state started to heal, albeit very slowly, and thats why he is now more similiar to his pre-eclipse self.

      I think the characters/ personalities of the nobles are meant to be less distinct, to make them all appear the same. If we were talking about an individual, like a Shichibukai, then we're going to see something unique. These nobles are just stuck up residents who have no spark about them. Oda intends it that way and they're not really going to be prominant villians as individuals or a small group, but as a way of describing corrupt citizens of the OP world.

      Oda has so many characters to worry about; these nobles are just there to make a point about corruption. He doesn't need to give them a distinct trait. He's probably using the Tenryuubito to represent them, as they do have extreme sinister traits, down to them being a smaller group so Oda can work on them better.

      I personally don't think its a big deal that the nobles have dry personalities.

      The problem with that is that it makes them unrealistic, it reads like badly written propaganda. They are going out of their way to appear evil for no reason whatsover(other than making it clear to the audience that they are evil).
      I don't know, maybe inbreeding has left them with a special case of tourrette's syndrome that causes them to make every evil thought that crosses their brain reality. Thats the only way I can explain why Sabo's parents are actively trying to make Sabo hate them as much as possible, or why all the nobles always go with the most morally abhorent action that will make any mentally healthy person cringe in disgust. To be fair, One Piece is starting to slowly move into that direction as well. Its not quite there yet, but…

      manga spoiler

      ! Whitebeard apparently has the power to destroy the world with his earthquake fruit so…lets just say a fight between him and Blackbeard could have an interestingly high damage potential

      @WolfClawStudios:

      NOO people, this is an audio debate we're holding, with NO CONCLUSION. You don't have to decide which one is better, that's not the point of this.

      Please get back to me.

      Out of curiosity, how would the audio debate look in practice and how would it be organized so it doesn't just become a cluster fuck of opinions.

      @Demon:

      That's so dumb.

      People are trying to deseat the Straw Hats. Not because other characters are genuinely more popular, but Just because they ARE the Straw Hats.

      This is a popularity contest in the end, people should vote for who is ACTUALLY more popular, not "lol, Straw Hats should lose, a derp"

      That logic is flawed: people who don't want the Straw Hats to win obviously don't like them all that much and therefore prefer their opponents most of the time, so they still vote for whom they like better, which means it works out.
