no surprise really both sell more than One Piece in North America, with the R+V anime being released by funimation Viz is probably trying to capitalize on sales.

I hate to say it because I enjoy One Piece but it will always be an uphill struggle here.

No the colour pages go to Naruto chapter 515 which really burns, the pages were really great but we only see them as they would appear in the volume.

luffy is on the cover but he is disguised as Naruto (as well Nami is disguised as Akashiya Moka ;p)… if Luffy is to be on any cover expect it to be next issue with issue 600

actually after a more careful look he is on the cover in a tiny circle lol

yes I received mine last week, the chapters were 597, 598, 599

backorders are… if enough people want to buy it and show this by ordering it from Viz they will consider republishing it. they may have a threshold of a certain number before they will.

for example say 1000 orders come in they may calculate it is worth reprinting

Guys, keep in mind, the early volumes of One Piece like vol.1~10 all sold over 300k each. Just in this first half of 2011.
There's a lot of people picking up the titles now and buying the old issues.

In fact, total sales of One Piece back issues alone are outselling any other manga series TOTAL.

One thing I was thinking about the other day, while reading a article on how much Mangakas earn in a year, is…

I love One Piece but was thinking that just as in the music industry the rise of Mega Bands has a over all negative effect on smaller bands could Oda be harming lesser known or up and coming Mangakas unintentionally because there is no way they can get close to his popularity

I have also not spoken in absolutes except that Jinbe was stronger than Luffy pre time skip as was shown in the manga and stated by Jinbe himself. Until I see something in the manga telling me that Jinbe is now weaker than Luffy I expect he is about equal now.

what i was referring to was the posts that want Jinbei to join and would place him in a lower tier of strength below the monster trio.

I have nothing against Jinbe joining currently but I can't see him as weaker than Zoro and Sanji it just doesn't fit for me, if Oda comes out next chapter (or whenever the time skip is over) and says that he is I will accept I am wrong.

in brief I have nothing against Jinbe joining but would consider him to be as strong as Luffy (or almost as) until proven otherwise.

The manga has shown us already where Jinbe stands and I don't see how you can make the assumption that Zoro or Sanji are now stronger than he is. I am not saying he won't join cuz you never know he just might. However to say you are certain that he is currently below the "big three" in strength I think the ball is in your court to prove your statement not mine to refute it.

Whether or not Jinbe joins I saw him as stronger than Luffy before the time skip and, until otherwise stated in the manga, at least equal to Luffy now, to demote him to a "second" tier in the strawhat pirates is simply laughable.

Those are not Sea Kings. Those are Sea Monsters.

Sea Kings = 海王類
Sea Monsters = 海獣

They are clearly written distinct from each other in the manga.

It looks like (can't be sure) her tail is fused here, and it can be split into feet at will. Alternatively perhaps only females can do it, but I dunno.

This really shouldn't be an issue at all, they can split their tails and walk on land conversely when they go back into the water their tails fuse again. simple

there are lots of things I would like to see but it can't be helped

again we have a problem with improper translations making things more difficult to understand for some

you edited out the salient point, if the colourspread is the first chapter they present it will be published, sometimes they will include one in between the chapters but in my memory that is rare. The also rarely put in a coverpage between the three chapters but they have occasionally.

get used to it they rarely print cover pages (or colour) except for the first chapter presented, you are right about the Dragon issue never noticed it myself i just assumed it said what was true.

anyway the bits with Koala really made the chapter for me, showing her to be almost one of the crew getting supplies with Aladdin etc etc

it all leads to the tragic death and that death leads to what happens next with Arlong and perhaps Otohime (only time and Oda will tell)

Back to the chapter I thought the little vignette of Koala and Tiger to be very touching, she holds his hand and he pushes her away then she holds him close anyway.

then the wave at first he doesn't but then he turns and gives her a hearty wave

this little girl was probably the only human ever to touch his heart but he still couldn't accept human blood despite all of this,

for the record I don't like the way Oda had Roger killled. Anyone of his uberness should have not been able to have been executed by only two marines with glaives (or whatever the hell they were) this is an incredible plothole in my opinion.

Luffy being immune to bullets is all that allowed him to prevail? No, it isn't convincing to me. From the manga so far I would never have thought that 50 fodders with guns can kill someone as strong as Tiger was, even on land.

again they did not kill him read the chapter again he was hurt but would have survived if he just could accept the blood

Them not being fodder would be fine, if they weren't drawn as typical fodder, going bulgy-eyed when he made a move, and we know for sure that the strongest individual there was a Rear Admiral. I get that he was at a disadvantage, but it still wasn't convincing.
