      @Cyber-Robin:

      Is that the same Sakura Wars that was on the Wii? I initially bought it from amazon for the PS3 but got sent that one instead.

      Same one, yeah. Only difference is the Wii version uses the Wii remote and only has English voice acting. PS2 version came with extra goodies and two discs featuring an English dub and the original Japanese audio.

      In a best case scenario yes. If the system goes down, or they lost the rights for it, or go bankrupt, or any one of a number of scenario's that have happened in the past occured, then you're out of luck.

      Well actually, that's not always the case.

      As long as your account is tied to having acknowledged purchasing the game prior to its removal, you're free to redownload it after deleting it even after it's been removed from the marketplace. Same even applies with Steam. I got OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast a while back on Steam. Sega's license with the Ferrari at the time expired, forcing them to pull the series from all downloadable sources. They regained the license, but OR2006 is no longer on Steam to purchase. I can still very easily delete the game and redownload it without any hassles, simply because the game is tied to my account.

      The ONLY one you have to really worry about is the Wii, but that can be fixed as long as you register the console before any possible break down occurs. In that sort of situation, a call to Nintendo can have them transfer your account over to a new Wii, should you have to replace your old on.

      On the plus side, if you already owned it, you don't have to worry about losing it if you delete it. Just stops being available to purchase for those who don't own it.

      Recently picked up Sakura Wars: So Long My Love for the PS2 and Tales of the Abyss. Then I found out the $30 I spent on SW was better off held onto just one more week, seeing as how the game just dropped to $20 today. DAMMIT!

      Either way, I'm havin' trouble deciding on which of the two to start on first.

      Just because it's intended for younger audiences does not give any series the right to be…whatever in the hell that was.

      Dragon Ball was already intended for kids. SD is pretty much for the slightly younger ones. Older fans can look at this as an amusing take (what with it being Super Deformed). Honestly, expecting it to be something "awesome" is gonna set you up for disappointment.

      @InvaderP:

      Remember that hilarious DBZ filler where they reenacted the Cell Games with actors putting on ridiculous costumes with huge heads and Mr. Satan defeated Cell? This kinda reminded me of that. But it's a magazine for little kids, so I guess it's okay.

      Haha, it does.

      Actually, Goten was far from a carbon copy. He had some of Goku's qualities that Gohan didn't have, but he certainly was no Goku. Especially considering the circumstances in which the two grew up.

      Well it was kinda both. Her constantly pushing him to study made him pretty much want to strive for that goal. Especially since all he ever did was study, study, study. Plus it was nice to see how he compared to Goten, who wasn't pushed to train or study at all and just be a regular kid. He pretty much ended up being exactly what Goku would have been like as a kid if he knew how to speak properly and wasn't naive about manners and what not.

      Hell, card editing is nothing new to the west. Pokemon had several of its cards edited, such as…

      -Replacing a Misty card's artwork with new art, since the old featured her nude
      -Replacing a Sabrina card's artwork with new art, since the old gave off the impression that she was flipping the bird
      -Editing a Grimer card's eyes as it was popping out from a manhole, the original had Grimer's eyes looking under a girl's skirt
      -Removing graves in the background of a Gengar card
      -Editing a Trainer card with a different symbol as the Manji symbol in the original was easily mistaken for a Nazi Swastika.

      What didn't help Legends' case was that the sequel and Misadventures of Tron Bonne both came out at really awkward periods in the PlayStation's life. The Dreamcast was out in full swing, while the PlayStation 2 was on its way. In fact, MML2 released a month after the Japanese PS2 launch and only a couple of days before the US launch (literally, two days before its US launch). What also didn't help was that Capcom did next to nothing when it came to advertising the two games. Hell, I don't think they even advertised the N64 version of the first game, which came out in the same year the N64 was dying off.

      It's no wonder they didn't sell too well.

      Megaman Legends 3 is going to be canceled because Inafune left Capcom and no one cares about Megaman.

      There's a reason why Mega Man Legends 3 wasn't canceled but Mega Man Universe was.

      If you look at all of Capcom's blog posts about the game, you'll notice something very different - the game is basically being made by the community. Capcom's letting the fans basically do all of the decisions and work for them. Less work and costs to come up with ideas and designs for them. Whereas MMU was helmed by Inafune and relied on the manpower of actual employees.

      Either way, this does not look good for the future of the Mega Man franchise.

      But that's the thing. Gohan only did all of that because he was a kid.

      Remember that Gohan was five by the time it came to fighting Nappa and Vegeta. Prior to his training with Piccolo, he was a pampered little kid who had no experience with fighting and was never exposed to what he would later encounter. Along came the Freeza saga and Gohan was charging in against Dodoria and Freeza without hesitation. When it came to the Boo saga, Gohan was already in his teens, had his ultimate power unlocked and realized he was the only one left that could fight him off. Plus there was the whole getting revenge for killing his friends and family.

      No way. Anime's never been particularly done well with standard TV syndication. Better to keep it all on cable networks. Especially with the way censorship policies have tightened up over the years. If anything, I'd rather FUNi quit making their damn channel so obscure and difficult to get access to. I'd rather tham make their channel more accessible on cable than taking over Toonzai.

But then afterward, he says "Toonami needs to return to Cartoon Network, and Toonami will be a 24-hour channel." Someone asked if it'll be the same Toonami or a new one, which he responds "It's going to be a New Toonami just like in Cartoon Network Philippines."

      Is it me, or did the dub just make a bunch of variations of the opening theme and try passing them off as new tunes? o_o; Cause that's what the dub's song for Goku turning Super Saiyan 3 sounds like to me.

      Also seems a little too…positive for what was supposed to be perceived as a suspenseful scene (making you question if Goku is actually serious about there being another form), as well as serious (between Goku's energy causing the Earth to shake, everyone running in panic as windows from buildings shatter, as well as the fact that he's effectively cutting his time on Earth) to eventual positive surprise.

      K0HiiPNdILI

      This was the song that was used. I dunno, I may be just being picky. But I noticed they did the same thing in Season 3 when Gohan erupts on Freeza after chucking Kuririn into the water and not letting Gohan go after him. They played the dub opening for his onslaught on Freeza, as if something horrifying didn't just happen and Kuririn being possibly dead. Compare it to this:

      dSLfvh4eHrI#t=0m10s
      The song used in the Japanese version kicks in at the 10 second mark.

      Edit: Found someone who actually uploaded the scene with the Japanese BGM. God, it's a pain in the ass finding DBZ videos with anything Japanese on it these days.

      Ah yes, the ol' "it sounds too dated" excuse. That's one of those "DUH" moments, as I still can't believe some people don't get the idea that Dragon Ball Z started in the late 80s and was recorded in mono. Also said people seem to be of the opinion that DBZ and hard rock is a perfect mix…when it really isn't for a majority of the time. Especially not the American bands chosen for the dubs of the movies or synthesized stuff.

      Because of that, they tend to deny there's any fast paced music used during fights in the Japanese version when there isn't a presence of a guitar or something. However, the difference is the Japanese version does tend to have various combat themes like the dub:

      The problems I had with the dub music was that there was too much focus on trying to make everything into a theme, rather than having music that helps convey the moods of scenes. Because of that, it kinda screwed with the view of the audience that grew up with the dub and caused some of them to look down on the Japanese music for being "boring" and "less hyped."

      The second problem I have comes from how exactly the dub music was made; it's all synthetic, whereas the original used a good chunk of actual instruments and various methods to play the music out. This gives the music range, so you end up hearing something like a violin during a sad scene or an actual piano, as opposed to hearing a keyboard and electric guitar only.

      I guess a good example would be to show the "theme" the Japanese went for Majin Boo saga that was used:

      KnMUVVc6EfY

      There's obviously a guitar there, but there's also drums and violins playing that full aid the entire song in their own way that compliments the entire song.

      Also, the dub didn't have an organ. 👅

      As for natural causes, it's as mentioned before; the Dragon Balls won't revive someone who died of natural causes (illnesses count as such). Unnatural causes of death are generally ruled under something that triggered a death before someone's lifespan was up, such as being killed or in the Grand Elder's case of tremendous heartbreak and grief.

      @FUNimationRules:

      Couldn't Artificial Human and Andriod be the samething? An Artificial Human would mean a fake human, and an Android would be a robot that is designed to look like a human. Androids are Artificial Humans because they are not real humans. Now I don't expect this to cover up the whole FUNimation missing the fact that No.17 and No.18 were once human like No.20.

      It's because the term Artificial Human is a direct translation from "Jinzouningen." It's a broader term in Japan. Trunks even states that the two are specifically cyborgs in the Japanese version (using the English word, in fact).

      @dan2026:

      That isn't really true.
      #17 and #18 were out of his control because his brainwashing was ineffective.
      They still hated him for kidnapping and experimenting on them.

      Technically while the latter is true, what I said was also not false.

      After waking up #17 and #18, Dr. Gero stated this:

      "I must say, I'm relieved by your tone. I originally devoted too much of your programming to the Infinite Energy Reactor, so I couldn't control you very well. You wouldn't even listen to my orders before."

      This suggests that Gero focused more time on their energy supply, rather than working on ensuring they were obedient. Which is true with what you said. But this comes up between the three later on:

      _Dr. Gero: It's them!! The friends of Son Goku I told you about!! Don't let them catch you off guard - they destroyed #19 and almost killed me!!

      #17: #19? So you caused another of us to die, did you? And you talked him into turning you into a cyborg? What type was he? An energy absorption model?

      Dr. Gero: Well, yes.

      #18: Why did you go back to your old energy absorption design? Because we infinite energy models were too powerful to control? But because of that - you lost!_

      Needless to say, with all of that power they possessed, coupled with their anger towards Dr. Gero, it's easy to see why a scientist would refuse to something he's unsure of on himself if he's already seen failure from two other subjects he's tested it on. Would it have had the same effect on him? Don't know. But that's Dragon Ball for ya.

      @Megadoomer:

      Basically, in Trunks' timeline, androids 17 and 18 allegedly showed up in the city and started destroying things (he hadn't heard of 19 or 20, and judging by his reaction to seeing 19, he knew that it was 17 and 18 who were activated and were destroying the city in his timeline). I suppose it can be excused by Trunks being one or two years old at the time and not being informed properly once he got older, but he seemed certain that it was 17 and 18 who would be destroying the city.

      Meanwhile, since the heroes wouldn't have known about this attack beforehand in Trunks' timeline (since Trunks didn't tell them, and the androids couldn't be sensed), they wouldn't have been there to stop it, and their presence in the main cast's timeline forced Gero to activate 17 and 18 earlier than he intended.

      I might be overthinking this, but to sum it up: why were 17 and 18 active so early in Trunks' timeline when Gero would have no reason to reactivate them?

      Ah, basically Trunks' meddling caused the change in who appeared. It's assumed that even though none of them knew who they were and that since they didn't have Ki to detect, everyone fought the Artificial Humans once their destruction became apparent.

      The details behind the beginning of their assault aren't really given too well aside from the fact that the Z Warriors all eventually fought and fell against the duo. Dr. Gero activated them and was killed before he could see the destruction, in Trunks' timeline. But since there was a shift in time, Dr. Gero had made himself into a cyborg, created #19 and went in himself before deciding to activate the twins.

      @Megadoomer:

      -(might have been a translation error, but) why did Trunks call the two androids #19 and #20 if those weren't the ones that he meant?

      As mentioned, this wasn't so much of an error when it first came around. Toriyama intended #19 and #20 to be the Artificial Humans, but his editor didn't like the idea of an old man and fat guy being the ultimate enders of the world. So he created #17 and #18.

      In the Kanzenban, this was fixed so that he calls them #17 and #18. The anime also avoided this issue. Unfortunately, the Tankoubon were stuck with the eventual error, which affected the translations as well.

      @Megadoomer:

      -in the original timeline, why did 17 and 18 show up in the city at the exact same time and place in Trunks' timeline as Gero and 19 did in the main one? The main cast couldn't have known about Gero at the time, so they wouldn't have forced him to activate those two androids earlier than normal

      Not sure I follow on this one. Could you explain it a bit better?

      @Megadoomer:

      -in Trunks' timeline, why couldn't any of the surviving cast go to Namek and wish for the people killed to be brought back? They couldn't have brought back Goku, but the cast would probably be training for those twenty years in the afterlife, seeing as the only restriction on the Namek Dragon Balls was that you couldn't be brought back from death by natural causes

      No one knew where the new Namek was. Remember that once Yamcha, Tenshinhan and Chaozu were back, the Namekians made one wish to go to another planet similar to their original one. Keep reading the story. You'll get an explanation from Goku about this when a certain problem rises.

      @Megadoomer:

      -how could Cell's presence have changed the timeline to that extent if he had spent his four years there underground?

      Which Cell we talking? In the timeline we've known, there was Cell that was still in development and the Cell that came from another timeline.

      @Megadoomer:

      -why weren't 16, 19, or 20 active in Trunks' timeline?

      Trunks altered the timeline by interfering with things. He mentioned this when he sees #19's head. Apparently his meddling with killing Freeza instead of Goku, as well as interacting with the others screwed with time.

      @Megadoomer:

      -why didn't Gero give himself the infinite energy production and left 19 with the reliance on absorbing energy, if he had the technology when building 17 and 18?

      It was a technology he wasn't completely finished with. He noted that #17 and #18 were out of his control, which is why he went with using the energy absorbing technology.

      @Megadoomer:

      -how were all of the androids so ridiculously powerful (compared to the enemies that they fought on Earth) if the analysis of Goku and his friends stopped once they left for Namek?

      Screw ups in time because of Trunks (his meddling made #17 and #18 stronger than in his own time) and typical Shounen manga logic. 😛

      @Megadoomer:

      -why is 16 as strong as Cell's first form? Did Gero build his androids backwards? Because it makes no sense to make the androids significantly weaker in the order that he builds them (16>17/18>19/20), leaving himself as the weakest one of the group.

      He had #16 locked away for a reason. He was considered a failure likely due to his personality.

      @RobbyBevard:

      He didn't have any sort of master plan, he was making that arc up as he went along.

      Technically, Toriyama didn't really fully plan ahead for any part of the series. He just went with what came to mind then and there.

      @Cyan:

      ahahahahaha

      SEGA: We Pretend Our Mistakes Never Happened and Then Make Sequels to Them!

      This is the second god damned sequel to this spin-off. Why, of all the Sonic spin-offs, are we getting ANOTHER Sonic Riders game? No one liked any of them. Both titles averaged around 55 and 56 (respectively) out of 100 on Metacritic, with Sega also saying they would be pulling all mediocre Sonic titles from store shelves (the Wii/PS2 sequel included). Who was the jackass that thought it'd be wise to make another and on Kinect no less?

      @Insider2000:

      I have endless belief that that game will not operate correctly.

      Considering how everyone said the second title was totally unresponsive and broken to high hell, I also doubt having body waving will provide better result.

      @GuetaMinute:

      Could have easily proved your point with Sky Deck a Go go alone.

      EDIT: Holy shit I just noticed out of that humongous list you put up you did not even put Sky Deck a Go Go or Crank the Heat Up. There's something wrong with you..

      The list was long enough. If I kept going, I'd have put up the whole damned soundtrack. 😛

      The music for the 3D games are fucking terrible.

      Excuse me, what?

      Have you even listened to Sonic Adventure's soundtrack?

      @BatrozX:

      The only thing that really disappointed me in this game was the music. Not that it is bad, but when you compare it to the music in Sonic 3 and Knuckles, Sonic 4 sounds incredibly average. I really expected much more from Jun Senoue.

      @Darkstorm:

      I only really find the mega drive era stuff catchy anyway, and he's only partially credited with 3 & K, so I've never really associated him with good music myself.

      Senoue wasn't the main composer for Sonic 3 & Knuckles. It wasn't until 3D Blast on the Genesis and Sonic Adventure where he was the main guy behind the music for the Sonic games (not counting Crush 40's themes that later appeared).

      Sonic 3's composers were Brad Buxer, Bobby Brooks, Darryl Ross, Geoff Grace, Doug Grigsby III, "Scirocco" and, of course, Michael Jackson. Howard Drossin composed Sonic & Knuckles' music. Jun Senoue was only part of the sound team, so he only provided little compared to the main driving force.

      @Captain:

      To be fair to IGN, each section (Sony, Nintendo, etc.) has completely different reviewers.

      Which is really a stupid thing to do, as you get conflicting results, such as this.

      Could be worse; could be IGN. They complained about Sonic Unleashed having too many werehog segments on the HD version. Then when they reviewed the Wii/PS2 version, they gave it a higher rating, despite the SD version having MORE night stages.

      That thread only involves the three consoles, rather than discussion of online games overall. Plus there's the whole game recommendations and what not.

      @Tamaki:

      What do you guys think of Raging Blast 2?

      Just by the demo, I'm hyped. It's SO much better to play and doesn't leave you feeling like you need crab hands to properly control anyone. They definitely fixed the controls, which makes it feel more natural. I love how the camera actually shifts around during points in combat when one charges up a strong attack during a combo.

      Also love how the theme kicks in when you go into Raging Soul mode. So far so good. Tempted to actually get it when it comes out.

      @Honor:

      EDIT: Also, why does everyone in DB/Z fandom have to be either a dub worshipper or a freakin weaboo? The other anime fandoms I'm in either never had this problem or fixed it YEARS ago.

      For me, the Dragon Ball franchise was always something I wanted to get a proper dub. I grew up originally on the dub prior to getting my hands on some VHS fansubs and discovering just what exactly was being done with the dub. It was always a shame to know DB, DBZ and DBGT were going to be stuck with the Americanization treatment, as the newly dubbed music for Z and GT really did not fit the tones of the series, and the script was just plain awful.

      Then Dragon Ball Z Kai came around. It's insane to think I'm finally enjoying a Dragon Ball dub that sticks close to the script, did away with Freeza's granny voice and kept the original music.

      As for the rest of the fandom…don't get me started on how many different ways Dragon Ball is split up for the English-speaking community.

      @sniperking323:

      Can somebody tell me about the current Dragon Ball box sets from Funimation?

      I really wanna start buying the series, but I'm really not sure on wether I should buy those or wait until Funimation starts releasing the Dragon Ball Dragon Boxes u.u

      I'd just wait for the possibility of Dragon Boxes. The current DB sets are the same as the originals released years ago, albeit with more episodes packed away in the newer sets. The quality of the footage looks really awful compared to what could get released.

      Listen to his second form. It sounds REALLY lackluster. Like there's no real emotion put towards it. Watch his reaction to Tenshinhan using the Shin Kikoho on him in Z and Kai. It's like he's barely pissed at all in Kai. o_o;

      …Someone gave '06 something higher than a 3/10?!

      Dave Halverson of Play Magazine is notable for initially giving the game its biggest praise; a score of 9.5 for the Xbox 360 version. This was dropped down to 8.5 in the next issue, with Halverson explaining how he was incorrectly told that the load times and glitches in his review copy would not be in the finished product. Later, Halverson gave the PS3 version a 5.5, expressing his disgust not only for how the glitches and load times had not improved, but how the game actually ran marginally worse despite the extra development time.
