So, are the Dramatic Showcases over with?

So it looks like no Dramatic Showcase this year :(

Ah well, gives me time to get the ones I'm missing.

I beginning to think I was premature in getting rid of the GLM series. Not 100% sold on the Vinsmoke Children in chairs, but I think once all 6 are together, will look pretty damn good.

While I'm here, is there any word on any future Dramatic Showcase's?

Got my Nico robin Variable Action figure. She's pretty amazing. nice to finally own a decent sized Robin that has her fruit powers in effect.

But wow Megahouse, At least give us a stand. She's barely even stands on her own and has already fallen off the shelf multiple times.

Luffy Gear 4th looks good, but I'm happy with my SCultures and wouldn't be worth it. Think I will keep getting the Dramatic Showcases at this point, maybe if they think about rereleasing the POP Mild Ace/Sabo, I will snap those up. Otherwise, I'm good.

Yea, I have pretty much given up on POPs at this point and am focusing on Dramatic Showcase.

Is it sad that what I wanted most was a re release of POP Mild Ace, Sabo and maybe the other Luffy?

Penora looks ok though.

And as much as the VAH line is look good, there is no way I'm taking a chance on them, no way in hell.

While this thread is about non One Piece figures, it does concern other lines so I am putting this here and if it should be elsewhere, i apologise.

As much as I love my current One Piece POPs, it is becoming more and more clear that the line has gone seriously south. I am now re-evaluating where I want to go with my collecting of One Piece and also other series. (That doesn't mean I want to sell the figures I have, in fact I still want to finish the POP Milds as they are so great).

So which line do I turn to? WCF is ruled out right away as while I like the sheer variation of figures, I'm not a fan of the chibi look.

I would also like to visit other series like Dragonball Z and Sailormoon.

So that leaves me with two choices really. I can either begin the Figuarts line, which allows pose ability and caters to the three lines.

Or I can revisit Banpresto, which can be found for a decent price, although that would mean rebuying the Grandline Series which would be a little annoying, but also would open the way for allowing lines like Scultures and maybe Master Stars (Although I don't know too much about either) to add other characters that GLM haven't done like Paulie,

Thoughts, opinions, comparisons? I welcome any feedback from anyone.

So we thought Big Mom would be the first target, then Luffy teams with Law to take on Kaido,

KHA Alliance reveals their target is Shanks, then Kaido shows up.

I feel a lot of people on here need to go back and re-read past arcs. Chapters like these are well within Oda's style of storytelling.

Violet telling Rebecca to close her eyes and saying she shouldn't blame herself was really powerful for me. Loved seeing her fighting Doflamingo, even if it was brief.

Happy with POP Mild Law, I was hoping we would get him when they started rereleasing old POP Milds and some new ones thrown in too. Would be nice if they rereleased POP Mild Sabo, Ace and Luffy again too.

Interesting that Rosinante is sitting down, rare we get that pose and a nice change of pace. I like the face he's making during the current opening, hoping we get that one.

Please tell me that isn't it. Seems very bare. More to come later?

Agreed, Robin in her black dress from the current arc would have been an instant buy for me, I am so tempted to get the figuarts version.

Im not a prude either, I love Shuffle! for crying out loud, but there are a number of figures that would bring me a lot of flak if I had bought them considering they go on the shelving unit in the living room. I barely have gotten away with post TS Robin and latest Vivi POPs as it is. Rebecca was a def "not in a million years" from the mrs. She rolled her eyes at this latest Nami. Good thing she isnt averse to be getting Koala, although that may be because she is a huge Sabo fan and wants them as a pair.

Is it too much to ask for a decent post timeskip Nami with a good face sculpt that I can display in my living room?

Liked the chapter, even if it did bring the fight to a halt.

I liked how everyone is going to buy Luffy some time, I do hope though, that they don't buy enough. 10 minutes against people so far beneath Doffy, even if it is so many people shouldn't be too much trouble for him.

That Law mentioned the birdcage remaining up puts paid to people theorizing it would stay up after Doffy gets defeated.

Were people this annoyed when Sanji had his "I'm the hunter" moment in Enies Lobby? Same thing, with less foreshadowing. Would you rather have the chapter end with Burgess coming at Luffy, despite us all knowing something would stop him next chapter?

I tend to agree with the posters who say that people of Dressrosa are a bit stupid. For year's king Riku was know as a humble, generous king who only had Kingdoms best interested at heart . I find it hard to take, that they would believe this noble king would attack them for no reason. Just as it happens on the same night that Doffy and his boys show up. I know Doffy good at manipulating people, but i don't think he needed to be that good to manipulate this lot.

To a degree yes, I can see where you are coming from. But also remember, they had no way of knowing that King Riku was being controlled the way he was. They saw with their own eyes King Riku attacking his people, along with the Royal Guard.

How come you guys accept that doffy is able to create strings out of nothing but find it not ok for him to transform stuff.around him into strings. I think it's probably because no one asks himself how dfs work anymore or at least everyone has come to terms with the magical function of dfs. Doffys df awakening is consistent given what we saw from doffys abilities. No one complained when break white was first used.but.now.thathe ability is part of a new level of DF usage it's meh ?

Also doffy trying to catch luffy with his df powers is basically what we waited for the whole time. Why would doffy not try this with his best techniques?

Mangastream's version was better, be interesting to see how close it is to the official one in a few days.

Overall was a decent chapter. I'm guessing the reason we had a "20 minutes later" moment was because Oda realised that 1 hour time limit wasn't workable at all. So our final fight in this arc just had 20 minutes of Luffy off-screen fighting against someone with supposed superior abilities due to his awakening. Luffys new gear doesn't have that bad of a time limit if he can go that long in a fight.

BTW - Where is Darth in all this? He would love tearing this chapter apart. Also, why is half of this thread talking about blood sports? Trying to work out what in this chapter links to that and drawing a blank.

Looks like Nami, Nojiko and Zoro have been delayed until late May. So there won't be any POPs released this month.

I still have to get Nami and Zoro pre-order (already have Nojiko on pre-order) so not too worried about that.

Possibly, but they way some of them are expressing it just rubs me the wrong way.

I am as excited as anyone to see what Gear 4 looks like, and disappointed that we have to wait 2 weeks to see it, but I would never bash on Oda for taking these breaks.

It's sad to see people complaining about Oda taking these breaks.

I would rather he take these breaks and it take us a little longer to reach the end, than for Oda to run himself into an early grave getting these chapters out, neglecting his wife and child(ren?), barely sleeping.

He has long earned the right to take time off, and should have long earned your respect enough to understand.

As hyped as I am about this, anyone thinking its too soon for Gear 4? I would have held that back for the fight with Kaido/Big Mom.

I collect what makes me happy. That is really all there is to it. It was my philosophy when I collected model horses and it's the same for my anime figures.

I do the same, and I collect a lot of things. The last thing I am thinking about is resale value.

Any word on the first wave of the POP Milds?

I must admit, they have made some odd choices lately (even if Lao G did grow on me as the manga went on).

What irritated me no end, was they sculpted a really good Nami face and put it on the mugiwara version 2. Hopefully one day Nami will get another release with a face of the same quality down the line.

For now, I am just focusing on getting the POP Milds, with Sabo and Koala later on this year. If I have the money, maybe Bon Clay, as I loved him in the Impel Down arc. Other than that, unless the next expo (when is that btw?) showcases something awesome, that will be all I am interested in this year. A Corazon and POP Mild Law would be great, I would even consider Sai as I like the design.

A part of me is also glad I left the Grandline series when I did, as they made numerous questionable choices too. The GLM/GLL wasted their time with the 15th Anniversary line, GLC flip/flopped over what line they wanted to do (CP9 still unfinished), GLV (only doing one part of the General Franky), GLT (WTF?), GLS (Two ships?!?).

Dammit Louis! I haven't finished pre ordering the last batch of POP Milds and you go and put another 3 up!

Since the 1UP incident, I am even more wary of whom I buy One Piece figures from. Louis was very helpful with my questions regarding pre-orders and I cannot wait for them to start rolling in ^^

Not a bad chapter. Overdid it with the reaction shots, considering we had a fair few in the chapter beforehand.

I liked Zoro's strategy in forcing Pica to come out. It reminded me of the Red Dwarf Episode: Epideme. (Extra points if you get the reference). Pica's Haki was out of nowhere and didn't go anywhere. Considering how dependant Pica is on not being hit at all using his DF, I can accept that his Haki wouldn't be as strong.

I did like how so many people speculated Elizabello was going to use his punch to launch Zoro and we get something different.

Im also hoping that we will see a re-release of the Ace/Luffy Mild Boxset and Sabo POP Mild as well. Also not too late to add Law as a POP Mild.

Decent chapter. Had some cons as well as pros though

Pros

• Zoros line: "Plan D: Contact them on the Den Den Mushi and tell them to get the hell out of there! Only problem there is that I don't have a Den Den Mushi" - I Miss Brook
• Zoro losing his cockiness (if only for a minute) after realising Pica had tricked him. I'm hoping the Samurai at Wano show him some humility in the future.
• Robin showing some dignity with her injuries, only dropping to her knees after Rebecca went to Kyros. Fits her character.
• Also nice to see her bouquet wasn't totally impenetrable.
• Robin's injuries. They were unexpected and a bit shocking, considering we never saw the caltrops make it through the bouquet.
• Seeing King Riku and Violets reactions to Scarlett being murdered. It was nice seeing that after Kyros helped King Riku escape, he tried to have Scarlett found to keep her safe. Also Diamante being a total dick to Violet. He really is proud of shooting an unarmed woman in the back isn't he? :P

Cons

• Fujitora…....... sighs........ less said, the better.
• Scarlett's grave knocking Diamante out. It feels cheap, almost like a joke after the fight we just had. Its a little unfair, but I was also hoping, when I saw him fall towards it, we were going to have a Shaun of the Dead moment ;)
• Zoro's Plan E sounds the same as Plan B, although it may be a translation problem. A jump and a leap are the same thing. Maybe it should have been "fly" instead.
• Jimbei's cover story. Just not interested in it a single bit. At least it looks to be over soon.

Side Note:
Ok, this isn't relevant to the chapter, but more to do with the anime episode that has just been on. It was refreshing to see Koala fighting (especially using Fishman Karate), but its a shame that an anime filler shows such badass female fighting when the manga lacks it. I would have loved to have seen that in the manga.

Cannot wait for them to start coming in, plenty of time to pre order the rest of the POP Milds this year. Still hoping they will re release the Luffy/Ace double pack and Sabo.

This will be the year of the kids for me this year, with only Koala and Sabo being the adult sized POPs I am after.

Was interesting seeing Diamante using his ability turning those spike balls into confetti. Glad to see him finally get taken down.

As for Rebecca, while it could have been executed better, I can understand Kyros' reasoning.
