    Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

    • RE: Next Straw Hat Crewmates (Vol. 8 - Onigashima)

      So to be upfront, I am a believer of the number theory and don't really like Yamato, so personally at face value I thought his fruit flat out confirmed he wouldn't be joining. But I'm not close minded, and I have come up with an idea that I think has a solid chance of maybe being the solution.

      First of all, I have to say I don't actually know for sure if this is accurate since I don't know Japanese, but I do remember one of the previously posted lists of possible 2.9 names said Fuko fit and means Wolf. So what if the Inu Inu Model Ooguchi no Makami name is there to throw us off, to make people who believe the number theory think Yamato is definitely not joining, but then we get a scene where the fruit is nicknamed the "Fuko Fuko Fruit"?

      This could also solve the "guardian deity" issue as well, that could be how the scene plays out. During the wrap up of the arc Yamato decides he can't join because he has to stay as a guardian deity, but then Momo/Kinemon says "What are you talking about? Its jusy the Fuko Fuko Fruit, there's nothing holding you back from having an adventure." Yes that's a super crappy example, just something like that.

      As a believer of the theory, I'm not so precious about it that I'm against a loophole like this, and I think it would be a potentially clever way of for Oda to hold to the numbers without making it obvious.

    • RE: One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 (Switch, PS4, XBox One, PC; 2020)

      Being worried about what part of the story is being covered in a video game is kinda silly. The only concern should be if the game is fun. I appreciate them trying new things, but PW4 is widely considered to be half baked mechanically. They are not likely to add more to it, and if/when a PW5 comes they will probably want to revamp the mechanics rather than expanding from PW4 unlike how PW3 was built on 1 and 2.

      Ganbarian has actually been off the radar since World Seeker, so they will probably have something new soon. I'd love to see a return to Unlimited Adventure/Cruise style since I consider them just legit good games whether you like One Piece or not, but after World Red was make to cash in on the Monster Hunter clone fad, and World Seeker was made to cash in on the open world fad, I sadly doubt it will happen. They could also be working on another Grand/Gigant Battle too. I still consider Gigant Battle 2 to be the best One Piece fighting video game and would love to see something like that in HD.

      But when it comes to predictions, with Dragon Ball FighterZ DLC wrapping up, I'm still in fully belief that that dev team will be making a One Piece game next. That team has only made 3 games, first DBZ Extreme Butoden, then OP Dai Kaizoku Colosseum, both of those being kinda eh because they were on 3DS, and then they made DBFZ. I might be too hopeful for it, but the pattern is there.

      I think maybe the better comparison right now is a puppet like The Child from The Mandalorian.

      @Robby:

      Still no Moria on Bon Kurei or Wapol huh?

      Moria is even a completely finished character that was in the previous game!

      We actually know who the remaining ones are thanks to datamining. Kin'emon, Kiku and for some dumb reason Oden.

      Moriah and Kuma actually have a potential issue with the way PW4 redid some things. They properly sized characters this time, where they previously downsized larger characters. Specifically Whitebeard, Jozu, Vista and Pasafistas are much larger. My guess is they had issues simply upscaling their old movesets into bigger bodies.

      In general the game feels super unfinished and if you haven't gotten it yet and don't feel the need to get every OPPW installment, you should probably just wait for the next one.

      @Megadoomer:

      This will be the first Pirate Warriors game that I get, but I find something odd about the latest character videos that have been released. Is it just me, or is Nami the only one (out of the first five Straw Hats, at least) to not have her pre-time-skip version playable?

      I'm not sure how the previous games handled this, but I find it odd that all of the other post-time-skip Straw Hats have NW (for New World) after their names, but Nami does not.

      It's pretty clear to me what happened, but I get why you wouldn't notice since it's your first one. Her moveset was heavily changed, probably to accommodate to the new heavier focus on aerial combos. They made this new moveset more focused on her new abilities, therefore it wouldn't fit pre-TS, therefore there is no pre-TS Nami. Nami has always been an issue anyway. You never unlocked her until Enies Lobby due to her having Climatact moves, but she still ran around as an NPC before that. Maybe that will be the case again, but for the entirety of pre-TS since they cut down on so many arcs anyway.

      In general this game clearly feels like a stopgap to me. It feels like they wanted to spice things up with the aerial combo updates and fleshing out arcs more, but as a result they had to cut the roster and arcs featured. It just gives me the vibe that while there was a gap between PW3 and 4, 5 will be coming quickly to essentially bring the roster and arcs back up to PW3 levels but with the PW4 upgrades.

      @kevo_koma:

      I get what you're saying and I am genuinely curious, but what is the appeal of games like Pirate Warriors? I tried playing the first one and genuinely got bored of beating up endless repetitive hordes of guys. There's barely any skill involved(as far as I played).

      So is the appeal that its like a popcorn game where you just turn off your brain and enjoy punching, slicing people with One Piece Characters?

      Not a knock on the game or genre but simple curiosity on my part

      As a huge fan of all Warriors games, yes. They do have a little more depth than most give them credit for. But yes.

    • RE: JUMP FORCE (2019 Video Game)

      These are datamined files, not definite DLC. J-Stars had files for Dai, Jotaro, DIO and Yoh that went unused. It usually means DLC, but take any of them with a grain of salt.

      He appears to be a stage hazzard. He breaks the platform when he hits it with his head, which is not something a support character can do.

      why ganbarion didn't show another admiral, shichibukai and black beard?

      The game isn't out for over 2 months. They aren't going to just show everyone right away, and there's still plenty of time.

      That's exactly how Gigant Battle worked too. You had default, up, down, forward-down and forward-up combos for both in the air and ground, 10 combos total. I never really got the problem some people had with it.
