RE: Greg: Teacher of SUPER " OP " course !
To not give away to the crowd what exactly he is doing.
BB fully absorbed WB's power, not just copied an aspect of it, so he actually got the entire fruit rather than a remnant. If that's just from having a bowl of fruit in his coat and then he ate the new DF ala Smiley, well that is what it is… or if he used his darkness powers to physically pull the thing out? WE dunno. But he was putting on a show.
What is this Red Hawk Theory? Could someone elaborate on it further.

I can't really be sure. But I hope not. It would be cooler as this deserted place preserved only through historical ruins and landscapes to cement the general ambiance of the Void Century. There could be people living there, but it's too early to tell. And I'm not even sure what role they could serve aside from adding more allies or preserving history, which is what all of the other kingdoms are already doing with their Poneglyphs. The whole inherited will theme of One Piece would ring truer to me if only distant descendants of the Ancient Kingdom like the D's and certain royal families lived than an island civilization. But that's just how I feel.
Since I am sure that the Blackbeard Pirates will be the final opponents for the Straw Hats, I think that Shiryu will be Zoro's final opponent. In fact, I think Shiryu's going to take the World's Strongest Swordsman title from Mihawk. But that might take a bit of time to explain.
Whether Shiryu takes that title from Mihawk or not i do hope to see Zoro and Mihawk fight. Also even though it takes could you explain to me as to why Shiryu would take the title. I'm really interested in knowing.
What you say about Raftel is interesting.
One last question to you and everyone here is do you think Luffy will die at the end of One Piece? Two of my friends were having this debate recently, one believes at the end of the series Luffy will die while the other believes Luffy won't die and at the end of the series he will go leave the Straw Hat and Shank's grave fulfilling is promise to him. What come do you and the folks here see for Luffy?

No problem. You don't have to agree, but just keep an open perspective as the series proceeds. In fact, I also advise you to keep an open perspective as to who Zoro will fight as his final opponent…
I will. I got question for you about Raftel, do you think there will be people on that island?
As for Zoro's final opponent i don't think it will be Mihawk but i'll keep an open mind like you said.

They may or may not meet at Raftel, but they won't have a decisive fight there if they do. Oda likes to have his villains be taken when they're a threat not just to the Straw Hats, but citizens and people around them to set an example. Teach in-present time on Raftel wouldn't really be a major threat aside from probably murdering Shanks earlier. But that will still be earlier and having already happened. The only stakes here would be who gets the title of Pirate King and who gets the One Piece. And while that is a narrative event that will be one of the most major moments in the manga, it's not enough of a portrayal for Teach as the most cunning, despicable, and personal villain for Luffy. He needs to be more relevant as a threat to the world by having innocent lives be on the line in present time and other people affected by Teach. It's how Oda works as a writer. There's a reason why so many arcs end in some sort of countdown of doom while crowds look at Luffy's battle with an arc antagonist and become cheerleaders to motivate him to win. The Straw Hats don't need to just beat the Blackbeard Pirates at/before Raftel. The only people there would be the Straw Hats and Blackbeard Pirates, and maybe random island inhabitants (but I doubt it). They need to beat them in front of the entire world. One Piece's fights work as a catharsis of built-up emotions and lore to make you hate the villain, and Teach needs more present build-up just remembering the bad stuff he did in other arcs of the series when the time comes.
Also, when thinking about the Final War in the series, consider a three-sided conflict instead of simply two between Luffy and the World Government. The third side being Teach and all of the forces he will amass throughout the series as a Yonko and other stuff. And in this scenario, it would help give a purpose as to why there are three Ancient Weapons instead of any other random number. Each side gets an Ancient Weapon so the war is "fairly" balanced. The Straw Hats fight both the World Government and Blackbeard throughout the saga (and the two enemy factions can fight each other a bit too), but it comes down to just the Straw Hats and Blackbeard Pirates at the end. Luffy doesn't care about justice and the only major relation he has to a Marine character is Akainu, which is only about how he killed Ace. But they don't even know each other personally or have any chemistry, it's one act based on Akainu doing his job. Someone like Sabo, Ace's brother, inheritor of Ace's fruit, and a Revolutionary seeking in the change's injustices in the world for the better, is much more motivationally suited to defeating Akainu. Not that we can't see Luffy and Akainu meet again and even fight for a bit.
Teach's relevance also can't really end at just being a rival for Luffy at Raftel. Mainly because he is a D. The one conspicuously evil D that defies the trend. If the Final War is going to revolve around the truth of the Void Century, Ancient Kingdom, and Will of D being released to the world and finally becoming relevant, thus propping up Luffy to take ahold of that history as a burden, then it's very easy for Teach to play a role in that too as a D himself like Luffy. It's easy to simply view the Void Century subplot amounting in "Straw Hats want to release history vs World Government wants to censor history", but there is still a LOT we don't know. And Teach is a pretty special person, probably as special as Luffy in his own perverse way. And Oda confirmed in an SBS that Teach likes researching history, so that already confirms that Teach's story role is going to connect to the Void Century, which will be a center focus in the series' finale. Oda's done a really good job at showcasing how morally complex the Gorosei, Admirals, and Marine rankings could be. So I think we need to give him a little more credit for the Void Century not being a simple story about "the big bad smelly World Government was jealous of the epically chill Ancient Kingdom with pretty flowers and awesome parties, so the latter got destroyed". Seeing as how they treat pirates as a collective threat despite there being good ones due to all of the bad ones, and how Teach is the one evil D, they probably have a decent ethical reason for why they fear the D's so much. Even if most of the Celestial Dragons, the "fated" enemies of the D's, are complete scum, because moral conflicts can be more than merely black-and-white.
And this is an action-adventure shonen. It's going to end with one-on-one fights. It's simply how it works in almost every series of this genre. It's more likely and beneficial for the Straw Hats to face recognizable characters who serve as interesting dark parallels to them, being people who have hurt people close to them, and are the biggest threats in the world than the five old guys who don't have any individual personality, the Admirals (there will only be three of them at most left in the endgame since Fujitora is a good guy), and random Vice Admirals/lower ranks no one cares about. They can provide decent fights, but the FINAL fights of the series require more special weight. At the end of the day, the World Government is morally grey. Akainu's definitely evil, but the faction as a whole still has ethical intentions, despite how twisted they can be. Not that such a morally grey faction can't work as a compelling final antagonist group for a series, but they're merely interested in keeping the status-quo. That's a threat, but those stakes are not really as captivating for a series finale as someone purely dark and malevolent rising in power throughout the series and threatening to submerge the world in chaos for a whole new nightmarish age.
Blackbeard's pulled a lot of stunts, crossed against so many people, and has all sorts of great character depth personality and design-wise that there needs to be more of a payoff to his story presence than being a rival for Luffy before Raftel. Just for being an evil D alone, he deserves being more than a stepping stone for the World Government to be the true final enemy. One Piece will be found at Raftel, but how it's used and who will get/use it first are completely up in the air. And he's the best fleshed out antagonist character in the series, so it's not like we're losing anything with him superseding the Gorosei or Akainu for final villain.
Nice write up. Thanks for the insight. I guess we gotta wait and see.
