Cowboy Bebop The Movie
not the one your thinking of
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-07-22/live-action-cowboy-bebop-film-in-development-at-fox
The IFMagazine.com entertainment website reports that film producer Erwin Stoff (The Matrix, A Scanner Darkly) is developing a live-action adaptation of Sunrise's Cowboy Bebop multi-genre action anime series for Fox. Stoff told the website that the project is "in the really early stages" since the parties "just signed it the other day." Shinichiro Watanabe's original anime follows the motley crew of the spaceship Bebop as it travels throughout the solar system in search of the next job. Stoff promised "a real degree of faithfulness," and added, “When I met with them in Japan, one of the first things that I brought up was the experience that we had on A Scanner Darkly, and how hard we worked to remain faithful to Philip K. Dick, and that was our big concern here.”
The anime distributor Bandai Entertainment and Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block released the original 1998 television series in the United States, and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released the subsequent 2001 animated movie. The anime was also adapted into two separate manga series, and Tokyopop released both manga series in North America. A Bandai Entertainment representative was unable to publicly comment on this report.

Grant Morrison on FC2
http://www.newsarama.com/comics/080721-MorrisonFC02.html
my god my freaking god
Superman Beyond is also where we find out what the ‘red skies’ really mean, and how it all ties in to Warren Ellis’ ideas about ‘The Bleed’ space between universes as well as the origins of the Carrier from The Authority, and the horrifying secret origin of the Monitors. I don’t really think readers have grasped the scale of Final Crisis yet but it should start to become clearer by the time Superman Beyond and the other ‘skip month’ books come out. Sonny Sumo, who by all rights, went back in time and lived and died in feudal Japan is suddenly running around with a Shilo Norman, who doesn’t remember being Scott Free’s apprentice. What gives? Well, read on…

RE: The official Dark Knight thread
The Killing Joke
! What I just realized is that much of the movie is a really clever re-working of The Killing Joke, one in which The Joker wins. I mean, think about it. Instead of Gordon as his target, Harvey is. The Joker goes to great lengths and great pains to destroy Harvey's life, all to prove that if you introduce enough chaos and tragedy into someone's life, they'll crack. Rachel is killed, he's set on fire, his plan to capture The Joker and exonerate Batman in the public's eyes backfires…he has that One Bad Day. And his response? He absolutely lost it.

RE: What are you listening to right now?
Introduce a Little Anarchy - The Dark Knight OST
-
RE: The official Dark Knight thread
1st: Rachel. They couldn't get Katie Holmes in the movie, so they used Maggie Gyllenhaal? Terrible. They should have written her out.
replacing her with a better actress
! and then killing her seems pretty final to me
EDIT: whoops

RE: The official Dark Knight thread
This movie is multimedia crack.
there is nothing else to say

RE: Is Akira as good as people say it is?
I agree Shinji has to be the GAYEST character in anime existence. But the Same can be said about Akira, Biker gangs? a FREAKIN GOVERNMENT LAB RAT? Dude their was nothing special about this show it is terribly overrated just like Evangelon and Death note.
so what do you just watch the pretty pictures and not listen to the words?
-
RE: Is Akira as good as people say it is?
So, now I'm interested in Akira. Is the manga pac on lurk the original manga or something else? Also, would one recommend the anime before reading the manga just to see how good it is, or just the manga?
the movie is still good after reading the manga just not as good
and yeah the ones on Lurk are the ones your want like a 180 something mbs a volume 6 of em

RE: Futurama

not as funny as the 1st one, but I believe that is more due to the fact that the 1st movie was the 1st time seeing Futurama in so long

RE: Powerpuff Girls/Z/Inspector Gadget Discussion Thread
In a way, to be indifferent to that suffering is what makes the human being inhuman. Indifference, after all, is more dangerous than anger and hatred. Anger can at times be creative. One writes a great poem, a great symphony, one does something special for the sake of humanity because one is angry at the injustice that one witnesses. But indifference is never creative. Even hatred at times may elicit a response. You fight it. You denounce it. You disarm it. Indifference elicits no response. Indifference is not a response.
Indifference is not a beginning, it is an end. And, therefore, indifference is always the friend of the enemy, for it benefits the aggressor – never his victim, whose pain is magnified when he or she feels forgotten. The political prisoner in his cell, the hungry children, the homeless refugees -- not to respond to their plight, not to relieve their solitude by offering them a spark of hope is to exile them from human memory. And in denying their humanity we betray our own.
Indifference, then, is not only a sin, it is a punishment. And this is one of the most important lessons of this outgoing century's wide-ranging experiments in good and evil.

RE: Post how your day was
So let's put it this way, would you rather someone flash you and expose themselves or someone constantly harass and call you names, publicly humiliate you and insult you shattering your self confidence and giving you depression.

RE: Western Comics thread
I'm stoked for Final Crisis, because I've been getting pissed at Darkseid getting thrown around by people like Superman all the time being a god, and think it'll finally be his time to shine
