Franky on Fire and Gorilla screaming in terror… I laughed so hard there!
Whoever drew Sanji was brilliant. He hasn't looked this badass for a while.

Who's that with Croc? I feel like I should know but I can't put my finger on it.
Judging from the scar, it's Daz Bones. But that's the only thing that looks like Daz Bones on that GB.
Quite eventful, actually. I really liked the interaction between the two brothers and Shirahoshi.
@I:
(and side note–yay for skimpily clad men staying warm with nothing but an added scarf for a change in cartoon history, lol)
We had so much fun lampooning that when the manga chapter came out:
!
(ps: pretend not to notice the Drake's Crew drawing fail)
The expansions were awesome, both Apoo's and Drake's scenes. I liked that they tried to explain why Apoo should be running from the boars instead of fighting them.
Flashback bogged down the pacing a bit, but that was a minor thing really.
You even had Lines! ROFL now I know you're serious about covering every marine.
@No:
:O I especialy love Manbotori. Isn't it the first fat tori we have so far ?
Manbotori wouldn't look right without the extra width <3 @Nolus:
These colours are perfect! Nicely done!
It's good to see the will of Hattori (hahaha) still lives on!
Expect some new marine-toris from me tonightThanks! All guesswork, really. Based it off the colours of the real fish, hope they don't deviate too much when the colour version rolls around! @Noqanky:
DUUUDE !! ….
:D
@Book:
I love it! A new type of bread grows every time he has a shave. Very convenient!
Also, here's part 28:
! http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w84/Pepelogoo/stefan_28.jpg
Thank you for the wonderful comic. :) I wanted to do more with Whitemantou, Whitebreadsticks and Whitedonut… but maybe that's going too far...
Hee Hee! Marine Burger. The bitter rival franchise of McMarine's!
fantastic job. It really reminds me of an ink drawing from Okami. Now do the other two brothers. :ninja:
Since I started I might as well get the whole set…
And you're welcome, Nia. I'd forgotten how fun making avatars was.
@No:
Quick, someone draw Whitebeard with bread instead of his half moon shaped beard. :ninja:
Since I was on and had my tablet plugged in:
!
Hey, does this count as the first Avenger Stefan fanart?
edit: Argh! Beaten to the punch! Which was awesome, BTW.
I did a Fukabotori, but as I don't know the colour scheme I had to wing it. (No pun intended).
Also I know I'm late but that wanted poster is so adorable…I didn't think I could love this even more but that wanted poster! Wonderful!
That's poster's cover material, that is.
@Kareem:
Basically like Nina Tucker from FMA. Once joyous, energetic and full of life; now painful to look at. Basically.
Suddenly I have the mental image of Scar face-kablooeing you-know-who with his Right Hand of Doom. :ninja:
Well what's the difference between a deus ex machina and an asspull?
Deus ex machina tends to be external- Another character jumping in and saving the day for our heroes when all hope is lost.
An "Asspull" tends to be from the main characters/villain themselves. Generally it refers to features or abilities that suddenly appear and solves the problem on hand without any kind of foreshadowing. Keep in mind that having a secret ability itself isn't an asspull if the author has hinted and given clues that the ability exists, it's only an asspull when it appears out of nowhere with no proper explanation.
So example:
Normal main character is thrown into water by villain and suddenly reveals that they are half-fishman and can breathe underwater = asspull
Main character who is always covered up and wears gloves, doesn't like dry climates or heat, suddenly thrown into the water and is revealed to be a fishman = not asspull.
They stretched out a few scenes, but they did it really well. This episode was quite satisfying indeed…
And Zoro made me laugh.
ps: Extended T-Rex fight next week? Really? jaw drops
That was superbly boring -_-
tosses FT into the same boat as Bleach
That high pitched sound you hear is my squealing. Stefan is TOO cute.
Why does Toei have to go all out on an episode that is mainly talk? In episodes like these your just looking at the people talk and in our case to read the subtitles, not state at the action scenes. It didn't bother me one bit nor did it seem to bother anybody else.
It seems like someone always has to complain about the anime. This is yet another reason why people on this forum piss me off sometimes.
Indeed, there is a difference between fair criticism and pointless criticism. Fair criticism is when one complains about something that actually has an impact: ie. that they butchered a scene, or changed something unnecessarily like Whitebeard's face being melted off etc.
Pointless criticism is when people nitpick over things that do not matter, ie. the level of detail in the backgrounds in a talking scene. Unless the background itself has a direct impact on what they are talking about (ie, house burning down, war going on etc) complaining about not going all out on it is stupid. There are things called budgets. It makes more sense to save the details for action scenes instead of putting detailed background in a freaking talking scene set in a static room. It's the kind of call a smart animation supervisor makes.
Because it takes more time to animate fast paced action sequences then it does to have two Marines talking.
I don't quite follow your reasoning. Please clarify.
That was possibly the best handled episode of the entire war, I think.
The expansion scenes were fantastic additions, there were no points at which it dragged.
Art slightly off at some points, Rayleigh and Hawkins looked rather odd, but I didn't mind because they expanded the Supernova scenes a bit more too.
I was horribly afraid they would censor Kid's crucifying the other pirates, but not only did they not censor it, they made it the featured ending scene! (Which I felt was an improvement over the manga's chapter end of Urouge and the umbrella woman. More suspense)
Overall, that was just awesome.
Hey i have a question lets say some one ate like a shark shark fruit a logia type and the person can turn into a shark or a hybrid version of a shark would it be fair for the person to be able to swim in the water because common it would be sick, it would be a version of arlong but cooler, but the cost would be you cant rly use it when on land but u can u just need some type of salt water breather thing over ur gills so that you could breath
You would be a a shark hybrid. You could turn in to a mix of shark and man and you would then be able to breathe. The fruit is pretty much worthless if you turn into 100% shark though
I found an artist on PixIV who seems to specialize in this:
(I don't hotlink or rehost other people's pictures, so you will need to have a pixiv account to see this)

i totally thought that Hodi's ability to make water come out of his hands was like something he acquired thanks to the mutation.. .__. i am wrong i guess…
Didn't Arlong used to be able to do something similar?
WTH Wapol becomes a king again? :(
Sanji can perform super-Geppou!
Robin can grow giant limbs!
Jinbe has a 400+ million bounty? :blink:
Oh and…
SURUME!!
lol im surprised im the first to point out how utterly sad it was Sanji fell for woman ivankov.
chuckle Personally, I thought female Inazuma looked cuter. ;)
@Sniper:
I just drew this in paint.

I know this must have been based off Garp's current looks, but for some bizarre reason it reminds me of a buffed up Captain Haddock from the Tintin comics.
So Jimbe wants to protect "Otohime and tiger's legacies" which just so happen to be in Shirahoshi. Zero Difference
Unless you are trying to imply Fisher Tiger and Otohime had a sordid affair and Shirahoshi is their lovechild… NO!
Do try and understand the difference between a vision and a mermaid. shakes head I assure you, the difference is NOT zero.
jinbe wants to protect the 'seedling' so it can be a reality sometime in the future. that doesnt mean he has to stay to protect and make the 'seedling' comes true. that can be done by joining a human pirate crew and together they conquer the grand line. that way ppl will see that human and fishman can work together and achieve something great.
Beautifully put.
Maybe I was jumping the shark a bit (Pun not intended)
But personal interpretation or not. COME ON, seriously? Are people really going to eschew this statement so much? Its almost 100%
Shirahoshi HAS TO STAY with her people to spread the good feeling. Shes key in recovering their hearts
Jimbe stated he needs to protect her. There is no way around it. Maybe Jimbe is the one to lead Shirahoshi
@Jinbe:
Not to inherit the hatred… this is exactly what the great ones who passed away wanted!
That "seed" in you will grow and spread to the entire island.. and when the day comes when everyone could feel the same way,
that's when there will be no more fighting, or conflict between humans and fishmen.
We're not doing this to neglect your past years… please, it's our turn to protect that "seed" of yours you protected day after day, all by yourself
Jinbe is not talking about Shirahoshi. He's talking about protecting Otohime and tiger's legacies of ending the conflict between humans and fishmen.
JIMBE AND SHIRAHOSHI CONFIRMED NOT NEXT NAKAMA!!!
"That "seed" in you will grow and spread to the entire island.."
That pretty much confirms it that Shirahoshi has to stay on the island.
As for Jimbe, the translated manga is different from what the spoilers stated BUT according to the translation
"That small seedling you have protected day in day out…LET ME PROTECT IT FROM NOW ON"
And there you go, the fan clubs for both have been shut down by this chapter lol
Out of curiosity, do you understand the meaning of the word "confirmed"?
I'll give you a clue. It's not "speculation" and "personal interpretation" which is what you have been doing in the quote above.
Jinbe's "I'll give you meat to eat so listen to me" and Luffy's immediate "ok." was genius. It's so… Luffy!
loved this chapter. Yeah we knew the Strawhats would come and save the day, but the execution was amazing. Nami's role fit perfectly and shows how impressive her theiving skills are. Remember, even if she can pretty much become invisible, she'd still have to grab the stuff from whoever was holding it unnoticed by the other senses. Spread was awesome and Jinbe really does fit into that spread well. Also, given that Pappug was there, I'm pretty sure Zoro, Usopp, and Brook were saved by him giving Zoro the swords which was their plan. Still, we need a flashback or at least some exposition to tell us what Jinbe was planning and why he and Luffy stopped fighting
You know, I always thought Sanji was the strategic one of the lot. I wouldn't be surprised if he or Robin turned out to be one who came up with that plan.
Oh Luffy, only you would make your entrance being barfed up by a shark.
How can something be awesome and ridiculously funny at the same time?! almost dies cheering
You need to tell me who drew that because that is GENIUS!
Hm… from Wikipedia
"The person having his/her ears cleaned lies down with his/her head in the lap of the person doing the cleaning. The cleaning of ears is often performed by a parent on a child or, among adults, by one's partner."
That still doesn't answer the question does it?
Having the anime feature Law today was a bit of a boost for the opponent… Inazuma did a lot better than I hoped for though.
Maybe next year we won't keep getting paired against a ridiculously popular opponent in the first round >.>
Have you hugged a bear today? Law has.
[hide][qimg]http://static.zerochan.net/full/07/25/486257.jpg[/qimg][/hide]
Hm, for some reason that image isn't showing up for me.
There were a lot of nice details in this week's episode, from the map to island fade out transitions, the Hancock finger-puppet/watermelon show, Jinbe choking after being yelled at by Hancock, and Usopp's falling fire-stars for dramatic effect.
It would have been much better if whoever did the art did not space girls' eyes out so far apart. It was really off model. :( But other than that and the overlong eating scene, it was pretty good.
!
Law saved Luffy, but don't forget that Inazuma saved both Luffy and Bon Kurei too!
VOTE INAZUMA!
Bites nails… This is epic. C'mon Otohime!
How so? uhughigigi
Let me just repeat the point of contention:
Usopps not chinese, give him some damn eyes.
See the problem yet?
I find it fitting that Mihawk was the one who delivered the news of Ace's death (the guy travels on a coffin).
Huh, I didn't notice the correlation until you pointed it out. Nice catch.
Usopp NOW WHAT THE ****. WHAT THE ****. Usopps not chinese, give him some damn eyes.
Wow. Stereotype much?
The Robin was badly drawn, I agree, but that's just putting your foot in your mouth.
I found it hilarious how the revolutionary offered Robin a cover, and she kept it around her shoulders, leaving her bare chest exposed XD
Thanks for that. Bye.
That must be some sort of new record for shortest time before being banned…
Hiroy, your campaigns are awesome beyond words!
@Oga:
All those reasons too. But why would he be so friendly with Crocus.
Nyon, Rayleigh, Shakky, Crocus… Everyone older than 50 in this manga knows each other, apparently ;)
Well Shiki did have some measure of respect for Gold Roger...
I think it's more of a "members of the old guard" thing. You know, all the new Supernovas and young upstarts shaking up the New World, and with the death of Whitebeard, fewer and fewer of the old school pirates are left. I guess even if you weren't best of friends back then, the old guard are all you have left to talk to.
@Oga:
That must be Shiki. It's the hair.
And the striped cloak. And the fact Oda chose to obscure the steering wheel head and his sword feet…
Besides, wouldn't Yorki, presuming he wasn't dead, be a really old man by now?
Is that Shiki and Crocus on the front cover with Laboon? :blink:
! [qimg]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v165/otakufan/op_02.png[/qimg]
EDIT: Ninja'd (alternatively, I am just slow…>_>)
I was torn between Bonney and Hancock. Then I saw this page… I'd forgotten how much I loved that panel of straight faced Hancock with the fake moustache.
Hancock it is! Well done campaigners!
Original Character ?
That's what they're supposed to be, what you get more often than not are something else entirely… :(
Bloody hell, I wasn't expecting Dadan to make me tear up… T.T
