With the sixth season premiere less than a month away, thought it would be nice to discuss the escapades of Don Draper and Harry's evolution from total dork to awkward try-hard. It's going to be another two-hour premiere, really excited to see how much has changed in whatever span of time Weiner decided to jump to.
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

RE: Introducing a friend to One Piece
I'd suggest starting him off with the Arlong Arc, since that's when the series starts to become consistently great.

RE: The One Piece Podcast Goes to Animazement!
I was being too vague, the ticket I was referring to was:
I'll be there on Saturday for 1 day, and will come to your panel at 4. Apparently to "meet" Yamaguchi if you don't have a Friday pass you have to get a ticket at 11:00 AM Saturday and then in the afternoon he's available to get an autograph?
Got enough sense to look up how much a day pass costs, haha.
-
RE: The One Piece Podcast Goes to Animazement!
How much does that ticket run?

RE: Shueisha wants to get rid of free online manga
Actually, that's kindof a catch-22. Go to any random page of the Viz manga thread and you'll read about the censorship and spotty translations in the Viz manga too. ("Kami Eneru" comes to mind instantly)
I'm just singling out mangastream though. No seriously, just compare any given chapter with one of cnet's scripts.
And Viz is good stop being a lamer. :T

Get ready to hear a zany southern accent.

RE: Shueisha wants to get rid of free online manga
That's a great idea, you do it.

RE: Shueisha wants to get rid of free online manga
Alot of these ideas sound great, but it wouldn't do any good to just keep listing what could be done without any sort of effort at trying to pitch the idea to Viz. What good would it do? Probably none. Could it hurt? Sure why not. Am I gonna do anything? Nah, haha.
And mangastream's translations are spotty, Viz… does a fine job at what they're doing. And so I keep buying what they release.

RE: Open Audition for New Crew Member
Oh man, I'm totally sending in an audition tape.

RE: Rockman/Mega Man 10
^If that ever happens they should make it a PSN/Live/Wiiware game.
I'm glad to see other people who agree with that idea. The PSP is a pretty solid system, but… I'm not going to buy it.
As for this game, the DLC's going to be another kick in the balls. Tonfa said it best when he described the presentation of it as pretty poor. I'm still going to buck up and buy whatever looks interesting, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna like buying something already programmed into the game.
Also, SOLAR MAN. :cheerful:

RE: Forced Listening Thread
It came off as the kind of song that isn't particularly memorable (it mostly has to do with the tune), but wouldn't change the station if it was playing on the radio.

RE: Traveling Sketchbook 2.0
Only thing it might have on it is a bit of antifreeze from when I had to pour some into my car. But other than that it can be checked around the beginning of next week.
-
RE: Traveling Sketchbook 2.0
Yeah I'm not going into why it's still here aside from forgetting about it. It's still in fine condition though, so don't be frettin'.

RE: Oh it's time! Time for stuff by Solar Knight!
Practice bookmark for Animazement 2010, I already know I need to make it bigger.
http://solarknight.deviantart.com/art/They-re-always-getting-stuck-126547661As of right now I'm hoping to mostly do bookmarks, and since it's very cheap to mass-produce (got a nifty laminator, and it'll be on printer paper most likely) I'll -probably- charge $1 for original stuff and $2 for fanart.
-
RE: Missing Side Arc Images
Yeah, I'll toss my hat into the ring as well. All I require is someone to go over my stuff to avoid any sort of bias/false information. Demon Rin has a pretty good point concerning the wikia, but then again we all know one of the main editors there. ^o^

RE: Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver
In other news, all 493 Pokemon are capable of following you and each have their own unique way of communicating with the player when you speak to them.
I was already sold on this game the moment it was announced, but this just makes the deal even sweeter. Walking around with my buddy Zubat? Fuck YES.
Also, I'm wondering how the later-gen Pokemon are going to be handled in the wild. I mean the National Dex is obvious, but I hated how the "newer" Pokemon in FireRed/LeafGreen were only on the Sevii Islands. Those islands were… pretty underwhelming.
-
RE: Metroid: Other M
There was alot of skepticism about the Prime series until it came out, so gameplay isn't too big a deal for me as far as the actual gameplay (yeah yeah different developers rabble rabble).
The story's going to be pretty dang awkward though.
-
RE: Metroid: Other M
I've said this in several other places and I'll say it here, yay for Itagaki resigning from Team Ninja before he could turn Samus into Tits McGee.
At this point I'm honestly pretty indifferent to the game itself. I'm pumped for there being a new Metroid title, but I'd love to see some more footage. Oh well, time will tell!

RE: Why the Wiimote sucks
I'd rather get that Laser Keyboard, that looks amazing.
-
RE: Why the Wiimote sucks
I like the concept of motion controls, and the Wii is sorta doing an okay job with it. My concern is that Natal is another step in trying to create a new standard in gaming, which'll force developers into using this in most/all titles developed after its debut.
Also, it's an Eyetoy.
This is an elitist point of view because guess what? Both of those are used to play games on them.
Uh, not all games use motion control dude. So he's not really being elitist, just choosy.

Hey Dude, just PM or AIM me whenever your turn is done so we can sort something out. I'm still interested in this project. =B

@e1n:
like i said, it's not my idea to put it there. talk to whoever is in charge of the FH scanlation group.
Haha, I ended up sending a message to the staff at OneManga and linked them to this page expressing your desire to have it taken off.
Don't know if it was a coincidence, but whatever.

RE: Who Watches The Watchmen?
uum, what?
he didn't replicate the machine that created Manhattan, he replicated Manhattan's powers and made a Bomb out of Manhattan's "Touch someone and make them go boom" power, which we saw earlier in the movie. It doesn't break people apart at the molecular level as the Machine did to Osterman, it literally blows people up, you see blood and guys on the ceiling when he blows those guys up in the bar.
How is that a plothole?I don't recall seeing any remains in any of the scenes of the aftermath, point those out.Haha, we're both wrong. I hold this dude's word in a higher regard than anyone here, but then again I also know him.
Purple says:
What Adrian recreated was neither his -pop power- or the effects that changed him.
Purple says:
He was using Manhattens power to create a bomb. The bomb worked off the same priciple as any other bomb. It exploded and it's force destroyed anything it could in it's path.
Purple says:
Manhattens -Pop Powere- wasn't a power. It wasn't a gift. It was him manipulating people's molecular structure with his powers to cause them to blow to bits.
Rolas says:
Ah, now I get it.
Purple says:
Obviously Adrian could not recreate that effect because it requires a concious effort on Manhatten's partThat's… not exactly how it happened... First off, you don't have to "call" to find that out, it'll be all over the international news.
Second, The way it came across was that Dr. Manhattan's powers are rather particular in how they work, the whole world has seen the international news about him, therefore when a big Manhattan blast goes off, everyone instantly "knows" it was Dr. Manhattan, and since Russia apparently knew Manhattan had betrayed America by up and leaving for mars (there was an earlier scene where the War-room guys said Russia knew) Russia puts two-and-two together and comes to the conclusion that Manhattan has gone Rogue and is literally attacking everybody, therefore they think they have to unite. So basically in a time when tensions thoughout the world are pretty high, some unexpected attack throughout the world happened and everybody automatically knows it was the blue dude. Neat.

RE: Who Watches The Watchmen?
^FAKE alien attack to be exact;)
I actually had to point out it was fake? Heh, goes hand-in-hand with what I said about how they revealed who Laurie's father was.
-
RE: Who Watches The Watchmen?
Good movie, bad ending. Changing it from a random alien attack in New York to Manhattan allegedly attacking several cities throughout the world just begs a few questions:
Isn't there a chance of at least a few people putting themselves back together like Jon did? That's the first plothole. Second, who's going to call a country to ask about a bombing?
"Russia, I know we're bros and all but I can't have you bombing my cities. C'mon dudes, don't be a dick. Wait… you guys got bombed too? Well I'll be damned. WORLD PEACE."
That was something that mildly rubbed me the wrong way after watching it and talking about the changes with some friends. But what really got me while watching it was how dumbed-down they made a few parts of the movie. We get it, Blake's the dad. Stop repeating it fifty fucking times and just heavily imply it like it was in the comic. Unfortunately most people are too stupid to pick up on something that isn't directly told to them. Unfortunately.

RE: Pokemon Diamond and Pearl
Sure, I could give it a shot for the first time in months. Just send me a message on AIM or something.

RE: Oh it's time! Time for stuff by Solar Knight!
Alright, so last night I created a club account on dA. The idea behind it is to get a small community of comic artists and well… showcase their own 24-hour comics. Seeing as how I'm not that well-known, I was hoping to see if anyone here could help advertise it (I really don't want to go around spamming random pages, since I hate it when others do that). Just so long as my main account isn't mentioned at all! I just want to create a small community and have some fun with it, hopefully get my own comic up there too if I ever get around to creating one.

It's pretty much bare as of right now, but I'm hoping that'll change over the next few months. Hopefully.

RE: Arlong Park GOTY 2008
Going from that list, I'd have to say it's a toss-up between Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Professor Layton and the Curious Village.
The former… well... it mostly had to do with the Dojo, which kept many people (including myself of course) constantly updated on things, which really got me interested. I'll admiit that I haven't touched the game in ages, but the anticipation and finally getting to play the game was just fantastic.
As for the latter, I'd never really played many adventure games (I'd love to play Day of the Tentacle or Grim Fandago, but never got the chance). This was a pretty good start, despite not really being that similar to what I'd mentioned just a moment ago. Some of the inhabitants of the village were pretty meh, but there were still those that still had their charm. And the music, oh GOD the music. I'd actually set the music playing during the chase scene as one of my ringtones!

RE: The Nintendo Thread
The first time I check the Shop Channel updates in ages and find something worthwhile? Lovely.
Unfortunately that reminds me that I never beat the first Startropics. But eh, something to look forward to if I ever download anything onto the Wii again. Or even play it.

RE: Traveling Sketchbook 2.0
Yup, just take a look at how the path pretty much goes in one big circle on a map.
-
RE: Traveling Sketchbook 2.0
Alright, things are shaping up! When will this be starting though? And have you decided on what sketchbook to get?
Oh, and I apologize in advance if I start to get pushy with this Dragon Warrior. I'd just like this to go smoothly.

RE: Ninja is cooler than pirate
This thread reminded me of two things: how gay polls can be and this neat comic.

Added you sometime after seeing that, which was like a few days ago.
This thread's pretty big, so why not start fresh with a new one? That way everything can be all nice and organized~

I am such a tool for drawing this. But retarded Shadow is too amusing to draw.
First comic I've done in ages, much less an Aim Higher comic~
