This episode felt like half a chapter.

Just realized Franky seems to be bringing something big under a cover to the Sunny.

Some really beautiful pages this chapters, and I loved Zoro freaking out seeing Franky change his hair.

Is it just a coincidence that fake-Luffy has an X shaped scar on his body too?

I've been waiting for each chapter patiently from week to week since Alabasta started. So about volume 18 155ish.

I think the best thing to point to for why Luffy will get a huge bounty is the voracity with which the admirals went after him. The government fears his potential and recent events have further ramped up their willingness to deal with the situation.

Gotta say I'm really enjoying the late spoilers, makes it so much easier to not ruin the chapter for myself.

Create a new layer, set the layer mode to lighten, select the color you want, brush over the black area; works pretty well. Dunno if that's the optimal way to do so, but it gets the job done.

This chapters ending narration leads me to believe that it's very unlikely we'll see Shanks fight.

I was just looking on Amazon and saw that this cover for volume 50 got its color scheme changed to this.

I'm hoping it's just a mistake on viz or Amazons part, because that's my second favorite cover and the violet color is really off compared to the great looking gray/black.

Nakama is a Japanese word. Viz is in the business of translating everything on the page. Not teaching Japanese to internet ragemongers who have nothing better to do but dwell endlessly on their unwillingness to insert random Japanese words to satiate idiots.

I'd LOVE to see Lufy in an absolute RAGE/rampage after this. It's the most predictable thing, in the vein of Goku going SS from krillins death. But even though it's predictable, I'd love to see it.

Stupid Amazon, why is 32 not showing up as in stock. I want my full arc in hand before continuing reading.

The prospect of Whitebeard fighting without having to worry about friendly fire makes me pretty excited to see what's coming.

1. Bon Clays sacrifice.
2. The whole of chapter 552 after Whitebeard shows up (tidal wave, lots of Ace/whitebeard back-story, "For that man has the power to destroy the very world!", shit gets real all over the place).
3. Simply learning Whitebeards devil fruit/that he has one.
4. Luffy in wax armor is too awesome for Luffy.
5. All the escapees falling out of the sky onto the battlefield along with the conversations while it's happening.
6. The brief but no less great fight between Luffy and Blackbeard.
7. Luffy one shot knockout on Coby.
8. Ivankovs first chapter.
9. Bon Clay cheering/rooting for Luffy to survive.
10. Buggy, Mr. 1, and Crocodile riding a door across the Ocean being sped across the water by Jinbei.

It's not unheard of for a character to wear the same pattern/designed cloths but different colors at different times. coughLuffycough

God this chapter is awesome. It's not even the typical huge revelation, or crazy battle awesome. Just Oda has been building up and building up the Strawhats. They get knocked down a few pegs along the way. Then all of a sudden Luffy is surrounded by the big dogs and he's the center of attention and manages to get in the good graces of the strongest man in the world. I'm just loving every bit of this arc.

Also it seems as though we might start getting some pairing off if Jinbei and Moria are indicative of the pacing of this battle.

Um it's the group who scan/translated that chapter, not Shonen Jump. Also I think it looks fucking wretched. Like colorizing old movies or something else equally awful.

Gotta say, I just like having a physical copy I can read anywhere I want. It also supports the creator. It's not perfect, zolo and typesetting can be annoying but it's what we got.

Poor Mr. 3, doesn't get to join in all the full page spread posing festivities.

Franky's cover seems to convey almost zero narrative, hope next weeks is more interesting and informative.

I hope Oda leaves Bon bons fate up in the air for a while rather than him just being saved the very next chapter.

He has to be hit with a persons devil froot ability(this is kind of sketchy at this point since we've only seen him suck in a logia, what constitutes a zoan or paramicia attack). From this point on he can suck in the devil inside the person, and when in contact with them he nulifies their abilities similar to seastone. This is explained by darkness consuming all things, or something along those lines. It's never completely spelled out, like how Luffy's Gear 2nd is.

No, nothing can compare to the complete idiocy surrounding Haki. Haki has become "a wizard did it" of the One Piece speculation world, and even become the explanation for everything BEFORE haki was ever uttered. Crocodile punched through solid bedrock? It was haki. Shanks' scar? Haki did it. Sanji's burning feet? Haki did it.

Makes me want to throttle a bitch.

Awakened" Zoan is probably the most surprising bit of information from this chapter. Seems like the Government has figured out how to do what chopper does, for much longer periods of time and while seemingly keeping their sanity.

I see next chapter going down with a couple punches thrown by Luffy but Blackbeard not retaliating (at least not with any real harmful intent) and just saying he's here to give Luffy a lift. Blackbeard will have an ulterior motive, but ultimately it will benefit Luffy to go along.

Really excellent chapter, I loved the huge spread that was almost exclusively just the crazy bridge over fire (and Iva's huge hilarious head). I love Blackbeards character so much. His fat ass body with small little legs, his kind of pathetic beard and his great laugh.

Excellent job. Very clean, nice color distinction, good fonts and thank you for putting the English translation in the actual word bubble and the Japanese asterisked on the boarder.

Well that's the least substantiated thing I've read in a while.

First time I was genuinely shocked by a One Piece development in a tremendously long time.

Like I said in the spoiler thread this still sounds like the typical fake chapter fantasy that we see typically fool hyperventilating gullible fans . Some fan favorite powerful character just showing up out of the blue and the shit hits the fan.

Color me completely surprised. I'm looking forward to how this turns out.

I gotta say how warm and fuzzy it makes me feel that the One Piece chapter has been out for a few days before the other two.

Normal release time frame could not contain the awesomeness of this chapter.

Training arcs grind everything to a halt. They're always just some boring and or silly explanation as for why the characters skill/power/whatever jumps by leaps and bounds. The funniest one I've ever read had to be Naruto's. After a three year period of training he comes back, kinda sucks, then goes into some training arc where he jumps by a bigger leap than he seemingly did during three years of training did, in only a few days.

Then Luffy just sort of figures out how the CP9 guys jump while in the air, then he does it. Simple, believable and wastes zero time. The Gear 2nd and 3rd thing I attribute to him just having a better and better understanding of his body after so many battles. Culminating in him figuring out what he's capable of.

I get the impression Mihawk is in no hurry to fight Zoro before his peak.

So how are people getting these new bounties for the rest of the Strawhats besides Luffy? I mean, Zorro has been the only one to demonstrate to any Navy personnel that he's more of a threat than they give him credit for. Usopp hurt another Tenryuubito besides the one Luffy punched, so I guess that's something, no matter how incidental. Those are really the only incidents since the start of Thriller Bark that the Marines could have reliable info on. Unless Moria is blabbing about who beat who and so on.

There's an assumed increase after Thriller Bark that makes sense. But I have no idea how people are getting 100% or more increases on members who've done so little. People seem to automatically assume that every Strawhat is causing some huge ruckus wherever they landed. With as little info as we have this is just not logical.
