Sorry the amount and the length of these downtimes here are getting ridiculous and out of control.

Could be, but saying it definitively is not up to us. It's an interpretation for our headcanon.

As long as Luffy never fought Whitebeard and Roger in their prime, it's not just easy to say he will surpass them, as Luffy's story is more important.

Some time raw talent can carry you very far but it's not only that luffy has a crazy family tree , top class people that help and train him and he also lucky .

EDIT to give you some real world eg Tyson become WHC at 20 year old and the fight was easy and Tenshin Nasukawa was monster at young age ( these are combat sports)
Messi has been a monster since he was 16 ,Bolt was monster since he was in high school and the list goes on and on .

We can't use Messi or Bolt as real life sportler as comparison with a fictional character in a fictional story.

You do know that luffy got to kat level in CoO in 12 hours which something Kat has been doing for years .
Now fast forward 2 week his CoA that he was weaker in now get a major power up .
Yes he still weaker than those top tier people but luffy is only 20 year old which is why i said he still in the learning stage .
Like Roger and those guys are monster but there 40 years plus and have many years on him but that don't change how far he gotten , how much he has did and how stronger he become in such short time.

To use a real world eg, Luffy is Oda's protagonist, we are the endgame of One Piece so his development is exponentially too fast and to high, which is given due the endgame reasons understandable, but not logically believable especially his young age is absurd.

Bruh, its not a "2 week break". He is missing 2 rounds of publishing deadlines. He's not chilling for 14 days doing nothing. He probably got sick for a week, especially in a way where he missed the first deadline, then was recovering beyond the 2nd deadline. He is very likely back at work finishing up 992, editing 993 and doing the storyboards for 994 already. This TAKES TIME to do and play catchup.

Being sick with the flu or anything like it could have you out for weeks. Have you actually ever been sick lol?
