Gah! I've tried thinking some up but I don't watch movies that often. However…
Bon Clay - Jim Carrey. Game, set and match.

I find nothing puts me to sleep more than Honey and Clover. It's meant to be good, but it puts me out faster than anasthetic. I just find it too dry for my tastes.
+1 for Spiderman. It's actually pretty close at the moment. ^^
The original Tenchi Muyo (13 episodes) is one of my all time faves. Kagato was a badass villain, though he was offed in 3 episodes. Bah. There's 'more' of him in the new Tenchi Muyo, but the old one is a classic, IMO. It's harem anime done GOOD, and I'm a girl.
Other than that, I like Escaflowne. The setting, music and characters I enjoyed, especially Folken. Hitomi was also a pleasant character; she was quite plain looking, not overly beautiful, and I appreciated that.
EVA bored me rigid, so it's a matter of different tastes. No one anime is perfect or the best.
Lol, there´s isn´t much more else that could get someone interested in Trigun
Heh. Aside from Wolfwood, who was mentioned earlier, I like the Wild West theme. I should do, since I'm doing a Wild Arms cosplay. ^^
Love and Peace!
I hope Vash wins. His character is what got me interested in Trigun.
Thank you.
I've always found Sephiroth is overhyped and overrated. I can appreciate the fact some people like him, but to me I found him to be quite… boring. That's the only way I can describe it. He never caught my interest.
Rufus Shinra I found far more interesting, since he's an example of an evil human. Plus what someone said about Hojo... that guy is one good villain.
Then there's the Turks.
I second the notion for Secret of Mana. That game is a true classic. An awesome RPG, with the capacity for three-player play. Still, I'm surprised as heck no one has mentioned these two, especially the second:
Shining Force
Shining Force 2
These got me addicted to my old Megadrive.
Plus if we're talking about the old PS1, the Suikoden Series OWNS Final Fantasy.
Suikoden
Suikoden 2
Suikoden 2 is one of my two fave RPGs of all time.
Lupin… it's Lupin!
+1 for Lupin. He got my vote. Plus I'm not a big fan of FMA.
Well since other people have put up their sketches and art, I thought I may as well do so. I do CG work, and these are the lined versions of the final products. Some are fanart, whilst others are original characters. From time to time, I do One Piece stuff as well. ^^
Oh - I do not own copic markers or anything of the sort, so I have to use your basic gel pen. Yes, hard but CHEAP.
Original Characters:
Daitokuji Fanart:
One Piece:
CG Garfield was atrocious. I loved the original format. The Smurfs, however, I cannot stand in any shape or form.
Bleh.
1. Dragon Quest VIII (2004)
Fixed. DQ8 had me pulling an all-nighter where no other game, save actually playing PSO, had done so. Everything in it, for me, was perfect. Save Rapthorne's final form but that's a whole different story. FFVII is overrated and has lots of hype. Gah. Besides, I prefer Rufus over Sephiroth any day of the week.
Have I played a second time any of the top ten? No. DQ8 I did as soon as I finished it.
Well I just voted for Havok. I remember him from some of my old comics and always found him interesting. I'd have voted sooner but ya… I was busy with university work.
Vash.
Every Naruto character automatically loses in my book. I hate Naruto >_> Really.
Seconded. I dislike Naruto quite a bit, but Vash actually got me into watching Trigun. For love and peace!
I actually wrote this about just under two weeks ago and thought I'd upload it here. I've already put it on an archive. Sadly, there needs to be more Dragon Quest 8 fanfiction for me to read. Gah. Since I own the US game, dub/US names are used. Well, I'm also on my 2nd playthrough and intend to do the monster arena this time. (How I missed it first time I have no idea.)
Next, I've looked around and I think I can open this thread. If I can't, feel free to move or delete it. Maybe I can try writing for Red next. She was one of my faves. Anyway, the stuff…
Disclaimer: Dragon Quest 8 is not mine.
Spoilers: Marcello and Angelo, mostly. Basically, donâ€t read this unless you really want to or know about their relationship, or lack thereof. It takes place before you reach Maella Abbey. Secondly, this is my first ever Dragon Quest 8 fanfiction. I have completed the game, and I will try to get everyone in character, but if I do something wrong, please politely point it out and I will change it ASAP.
This is a small one-shot based on Marcelloâ€s relationship and feelings towards Angelo.
Vengeance
As the bird flew through the heavens, it glided over fields, rivers, mountains and copious amounts of wagons and people that traversed the roads beneath its wings. Leaving the tall mountains behind, it flew away over the hills, passing over an ancient abbey wrought from stone. This abbey was gleaming in the morning sunlight, its beauty enhanced only by the river that gently wound around its borders and down the valley.
Suddenly, the irate shouting of a man shattered this peace and tranquillity.
“I do not care about your reputation, or lack thereof! this man roared. “You are a Templar of the Goddess and shall conduct yourself accordingly! Do I make myself clear, Angelo? Your actions are bringing shame upon us all!
This irate yelling, which had now diminished to an equally irate growl, was interrupted by the sound of playful laughter.
“Donâ€t be so melodramatic, brother. People are not so foolish as to judge the Templars upon the actions of one man alone.â€? The second voice paused for a few seconds, pondering something. “At least I hope that are! I mean really – â€?
“Silence!
Rising from his chair, the first man slammed his palms down angrily on the table before him.
No, I should not lose my temper so easily…
Realising what he had done, the Templar Captain made do with curling his upper lip back in utter distaste. He would not let this man rile him so! He could not! That would only give his enemy the satisfaction of knowing that he had gotten beneath his skin. Not just that, but also the knowledge that once more he had intruded into his life, where he was not welcome.
Due to this silver-haired devil masquerading as a fun-loving angel, he had lost everything that mattered to him; his home, his life and his mother. If it had not been for this boy, his mother would quite possibly have survived and his life would be different.
Throwing himself back down into his chair, the head of which was engraved with the same crest as his ring, the black-haired man gazed coldly at his younger half-brother. This boy had everything handed to him on a plate, whereas he had been forced to make it on nothing but his own prowess and merit.
This boy had been born with a silver spoon in his mouth and no common sense!
Indeed, he would go so far as to bet that his half-brother had never had to deal with the likes of Rolo.
Rolo was a fat little man wrapped up in a cocoon of smug self-importance and greed. Once he became Lord High Priest (and he would), that squat pig would be the first to go.
The next would be his ‘dear brotherâ€, Angelo.
In his new order, privilege through birth would be abolished and replaced by a system that was fairer for all. No one should have to suffer the way he had in order to prove oneâ€s worth.
Well, no one except Angelo here…
Waving his right hand in a dismissive gesture, the Templar Captain closed his eyes in resignation.
“Get out of my sight; I shall deal with you later,â€? he ordered. He had no more desire to remain in Angeloâ€s company.
“Marcello…
“… Just get out.
As Angelo left the room, Marcelloâ€s green eyes watched his half-brother as he left. The door closed shut, leaving him, thankfully, alone once more. His eyes, however, continued to glare daggers at the door through which Angelo had left.
You stupid fool! Do you do this on purpose? Do you enjoy testing me so? Marcello thought. He leaned forward in his chair, rested his chin on his linked hands and continued to gaze at the door. Or do you try me and test me in the hope that you will find your brother?
Marcello stopped thinking, but it did not last for long.
Hah! Youâ€ll have a long wait! Do you even know why I treat you the way I do? Itâ€s simple; you took everything away from me, everything. You ruined my life. I tell you this; your father is no father of mine.
The Templarâ€s eyes narrowed in anger.
No father would treat his son as a spare and cast him aside once something better came along. I tell you this; I am glad your parents died.
Silence descended as Marcello fell quiet. It was as if he was subconsciously challenging himself to explain why he could be so cold-hearted as to wish such misfortune upon his younger sibling. After all, he knew the pain of losing oneâ€s parents, or at least oneâ€s mother.
Perhaps now you will understand what it was like for me.
Marcello stopped thinking. Rising from his chair, he gazed around at what was now his home. The room was quite luxurious, but not overly so; it was suitable for the commander of the Holy Order of the Goddess. However, it was not decadent, unlike some rooms he had seen. A wardrobe stood to the right of the door Angelo had passed through, and to his right against the wall stood several bookshelves. Upon his desk was a copy of the bible, whilst to his left, behind a blue curtain, dwelled his bed: his place of rest.
Closing his eyes, Marcello sighed. His mother had come here, seeking shelter for her and himself, but then she had died. She had gone, just like that. This abbey had been his home and things had started to look bright once again, but then he had arrived.
The young boy, dressed in red and white, had looked so lost and alone.
Feeling compassion, for he had also lost his parents, he had sought to offer this boy a shoulder to cry on. That was when he had learnt the boyâ€s name and his world had crumbled down around him.
Angelo.
Immediately upon learning this boyâ€s true identity, Marcello had closed himself off. That brat could take care of himself!
Something else, though, was eating away at the black-haired captain: Abbot Francisco.
This man had been like a father to him, especially when his mother had died. The Abbot had been kind to him when many others would have shunned him due to his illegitimate background. He had quite possibly found someone he could look up to. A father, if you will.
Then he had arrived; Angelo.
Angelo, Angelo, Angelo. Will I never be free of that cursed name!
Once Angelo had arrived, Abbot Francisco had been left with a new orphan to care for. He had been usurped, again! Why could his half-brother not at least let him have this? The love of one man who was like a parent to him; was that too much to ask for?
Turning to face the window, Marcello gazed out emotionlessly at the rolling valley that lay beyond. Down to his left could be seen the barn, from which they would take grain during the winter.
How does it feel, Angelo?
Marcello smirked. Now, for the first time in his life, he was the one in charge! Angelo had to answer to him and it felt wonderful!
How does it feel to be beneath the one whose life you ruined? Well the boot is on the other foot now, and I am going to make damned sure that I enjoy every minute of it.
If Angelo ever asked him why he treated him the way he did, he had a simple answer.
_Itâ€s quite simple; I want vengeance. You ruined my life and you shall pay for it, one way or another.
I will ruin you the way you ruined my life.
I will destroy you the way our father destroyed mother and I.
In the end, when you can take no more, I will finally find my peace._
YGO GX:
Pros: the art stays the same. That's about it.
Cons: THEY MESSED UP CHRONOS! Gah! Also, the voice acting is bad, there are very very bad lame catchphrases. It's Daitokuji, not banner. A banner is something you have in your signature. Everything else… Did I mention Chronos? ><
--
YGO: What others mentioned above. It was bad bad bad. Yet One Piece, IMO, came off even worse.
It depends. The first I actually saw was Akira. Personally, it bored me so it didn't make me sit down and watch it again. The first REAL anime I saw and tuned into the next day was… the dub of Sailor Moon ><. What caught my attention was the art style over the voice acting. It was something new and I liked it, compared to English cartoons.
Ah * wipes tears from her eyes * that was priceless! I burst out laughing at several times, especially with Jango in the second one. Plus Hina coming to spam them was a nice touch.
Bon Clay was… as Bon Clay as ever. Awesome job!
Welcome to the forum. It's nice to have you aboard. ^^
Ah, Christopher Lee, one of my favourite actors of all time. This promises to be quite enjoyable. ^^
+1 for Scarecrow. As someone who has been bullied, I KIND of wish I could get my own back, but just not to those extremes.
I don't like Naruto, but +1 for Kakashi. Heero p'ss me off.
On my second walkthough, I wouldn't mind getting Ultrus xd. The slimes are my favourite monster family.
I also agree with "£$"£ on Dhoulmagus, especially his second form. That for me was the hardest fight in the game.
I rented the game though im not very far i'll say one thing…the music is amazing!
I downloaded the soundtrack and love the music. My favourite pieces are:
Overture
Over the Sorrow ~ Hurry! We are in Danger
War Cry ~ Defeat the Enemy
Remembrances…
Sanctuary
Dormaguez ~ Great Battle in the Vast Sky
The bolded ones are my absolute faves. I got it from here:
And on a last note, Raphthorne was… odd. I wasn't expecting THAT! xd
Hmm yes, since from what I remember they target multiple enemies. Personally, though I only levelled up his axe skills later on and REALLY regretted using the scythe as much as I did. IMO, the axe is better.
Critical hits ignore Def, so one will kill a metal slime instantly. Use the Hero's Thunder Thrust/Lightning Thrust from the Spear Skills, or Yangus's Hatchet Man/Executioner from the Axe Skills. Lightning Thrust and Executioner are both upgrades to those respective abilities.
Seconded. That's what I used. I had Angelo use Metal Slash, and Jessica followed it up with an hit-all attack from the Gringham Whip. It levelled me up pretty quickly.
On another note, what did everyone think of Dhoulmagus?
I live in the UK and imported this, and I'm bloody glad that I did. I've not had an RPG keep me up till 6am dying to see what happens next. The only thing to do that was Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast, which is ollddddd and I only stayed up that late because of the mmorg aspect.
I beat DQ over Christmas, anyhow. The final boss's appearance made me go. whaaaa?
Personally, though, my fave character is Marcello. He's got an interesting backstory.
Though I may now start my second playthrough and this time do the Monster Arena.
A good place for metal slimes is the forest just before the Royal Hunting Ground in Argonia. You can get groups of up to 8 of them there, and they appear quite regulary.
I'd rate Kuro as a psychopath. He seems to have no moral conscience and we all know what he planned…
Well I haven't voted yet cus the forum was down ><
What about opening the poll for this weekend only?
I enjoyed it too. I completed it around three weeks ago, with my party being Jack, Aidan's Father, Achilles and Clive. Clive, ha ha.
What I found annoying is that when I started a new game and joined Theatre Vancoor again, I did NOT have the people I'd previously gotten. On my friends book, yea, but not on my party rosta.
I want to get Kain quicker, dammit ><
Oh, for me, the hardest battle was the two-battle against the Blood Orcs and then Zane and his three Light Elves. Though I did something interesting. Restarting the game, I kicked and then beat Lord Noguira with Jack on only Level 11.
Shakushi, well Bamf_Girl'll know, plus other Kuro fans. xd
It's his berserker-style attack.
Captain Kuro-swan~< 3 Favorite villain by far. So cute and evil and intellectual.
Seconded. Plus he's a butler! xd
I also liked his fighting style. No OTT Devil Fruit powers. Just ten claws, speed and a vicious ruthlessness.
Hey, who says someone has to be real for you to love them? XD I love Sanji. And welcome~
And we both know who else we like
Welcome to the forum, pirateneko.
toonmahavailo
Oh, I forgot to say. I've convinced my friend to go as Jango. If he gets the costume done, he'd be able to pull it off. xd He's tall and thin. So yea, opportunities for photos. Him snoring whilst leaning on my back. xd
I hope he does it, anyhow.
Sure. xd
Well, capewise, I have a plan. Basically, I bought a sheepskin coat for the brown tanned suede effect, then I'm gonna cut off the top and attach the lined cape beneath it.
Magneto hands down. One of the best developed villains ever in comic history. He is the only villainous character where the "I had a rough childhood so I´m trying to take over/destroy the world" doesn´t appear silly.
Seconded. And that is why I voted for Magneto. My fave villain apart from Dr. Doom.
I'm going to Ame, so I'll drag my Capt' Kuro cosplay along again. My plans are to go as this guy, too.
Cape… such a pain ><
I did this a while ago, but thought I'd up it here. The shading came out light in places, but it's not TOO bad, I hope.
I plan on doing other characters, like Mr. 2.
Kuro: I do not sound like I have a slimy voice. I see there is a crescent moon tonight. 4kids know who I am, and my identity cannot be revealed. All of them must die!
Bon Clay: It's not too late! Join the path of a human! Be one with the Okama Way!
I would suggest you add Kuro's 'Shakushi/Death Scoop' to the attack list, that one was badass. Anyway, here are my nominations.

Tashigi: If… if you'd like to leave a message, please leave it after the... ah! (crashing and banging sounds can be heard.)
Kuro: If I find out who is daring to ring me, I'll cut you open like a fish.
The gloves weren't heavy. They were a pain to get on though. Ugh. One hand gets in fine, then yea…
I liked that woman who did Bon Clay, xd.
Anyhow, I was on another forum and a person there PM-ed me this photo. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. ^^
My predictions:
Nami and Franky.
I actually want Bon Clay to win, though it won't happen.
Here are some of my faves:
"Oooh, so Mother Nature needs a favor?! Well maybe she should have thought of that when she was besetting us with droughts and floods and poison monkeys! Nature started the fight for survival, and now she wants to quit because she's losing. Well I say, hard cheese." - Mr. Burns.
Homer: I have a great way to solve our money woes. You rent your
womb to a rich childless couple. If you agree, signify by getting indignant.
Marge: Are you crazy? I'm not going to be a surrogate mother.
Homer: C'mon, Marge, we're a team. It's uter-US, not uter-YOU.
Marge: Forget it!
Homer to Marge: Marge, if the Lord wanted us to go to Church, he'd have made the week a day longer.
I vote for the Shredder. Ivy never really stood out for me.
Captain Kuro - Once a feared pirate of the sea, you now seek a more lonley life with what you love most - RICHES! You crave money and riches and are willing to give you your crew members, or wait several years to get it. You have extreme patience, and awesome fighting skills but be careful. Your pride will surely be your downfall.
Well, I don't make friends easily, I like my possessions and have pride. But yea, somewhat obvious. Eh heh heh…
+1 for Nami. She was already one of my faves, but the Arlong Arc elevated her up higher than Chopper for me.
These are my nominations:
Blandest Character:
Pandaman - he just doesn't interest me.
Kuroobi - same as above.
Best/Worst Villian:
Kuro, Arlong, Mr.2, Buggy - best villains
Pandaman - worst villain
Worst Outfit/Best Dressed Character:
Jango, Pell, Kuro, Crocodile, Mr.2 and Nami - best outfits.
Sanji - It doesn't appeal to me.
Strangest Looking Character:
Mr.2 - so weird, but so fun.
Jango - same as above.
(If only I could say Gaimon ><)

Nami, Usopp and Luffy.
Best Drunk Character:
Chopper
Monkey D. Luffy
Cutest Character:
Chopper
Funniest Character:
Jango
Tashigi
Mr.2

Vivi
Franky
Nami
Chopper
Creepiest Glare:
Kuro, Nico Robin.

Nami before and during the Arlong Arc.
Zoro.
Coolest Nose:
Usopp.
Best Role Model:
Smoker (xd)
Best/Most annoying laugh:
Buggy - best laugh
Pimpest character:
