Where are you guys buying them? I haven't seen any of Play Asia or YesAsia…
From what I've noticed most people that posting that have it were able to pick them up at a Kinokuniya store.

pandaman made a appearance… again
love how luffy is some nerd until gear seconds the school
brook made appearance! made my day
Well he was on the list on the first page of the comic which I have gathered from my limited Japanese came from a character questioner, that I'm assuming was for who people wanted to see in one of these comics. Shanks got first place followed by Ace, Bon Clay, Vivi, Paulie, Mihawk, CP9, Whitebeard, Pandaman, the Super Karugamo Unit, Brook and Buggy. All which made an appearance.
Is that bookcover?(the item under the poster)
the comic,IMO,seems to be some sort of school setting(if I am looking at it correctly)
can someone tell me how many pages this book has?
Yea, that's a book cover. The magazine comes with a poster, a book cover, two postcards, a puzzle, a sheet of stickers, the cardboard Sogeking mask and another sheet of cardboard for a game that the other side of the poster has the board for it.
It is indeed a school setting, the school is called Mugiwara High School.
The magazine has 226 pages.
That was nice to look at. Not so big on Robin smoking tho. Btw, what is this "Gokusen"?
Gokusen is a popular manga series for women. It's had a TV drama with a sequel made of it as well as an anime series. It's about the daughter of a yakuza family that decides to give up her place as heir to become a teacher and is given a class of delinquents as her first class. Shanks in this comic is definitely supposed to be the main character, Yankumi, with the long hair and wearing her trademark sweats.
Went to the Seattle Kinokuniya yesterday and found the magazine for only $7.70. I took a picture of all the goodies it came with which you can view here.
And later scanned the comic short at the end since I loved the idea it was pretty much an OP version of Gokusen.
Side note question, How often are the dvd's released in Japan? I won't mind if and when KF catches up to the dvd's. It will mean more bandwidth a month for me for other subs. Anyway, great episode, we see Chopper grow as a uhh..person here, a fun battle.
The DVDs are released monthly but it's normally only 3 episodes per disc, and sometimes it drops down to only 2 episodes per disc. IIRC, the last couple of DVDs for the end of Skypeia are only 2 episodes dscs actually.
Not sure if this is the thread to share this with but I have a pic of 'official' Pandaman cosplay. On the 4th and 5th volumes of the Japanese DVDs they have an extra of a real life Pandaman visiting the animation studio, TOEI. And here's a pic of him outside the studio building.
ok guys l33t-raws has released the special and its duration is 43:44 but the other one which one uploaded has duration of 42:34. haven't watched l33t's version yet so don't know whats the extra in it :glare: but will let you know after I watch it
They didn't edit out all the commercials which is probably why l33t's version is a bit longer.
I didn't know about this release so I was surprised to find it at the Kinokuniya in Seattle last week. It's really nice and I'm glad I picked it up.
This just didn't look right to me … or I have a dirtier mind than I thought.

Would it be possible for you to make a clip of the whole crew doing their attacks together from the second special for the PSP format? If it's not too much trouble of course.

Vivi probably won't be too bad. I really hope they go Austin Powers with Mr. 9 XD That might actually make up for some of the dub lameness. Just a tiny bit. But you know, enduring Goonji and Dubsopp is always going to be far worse than anything else they throw at us.

I don't know… I can see Bon Clay getting a voice on par with Goonji and Dubsopp.
I'm sure the Zolo thing in the Jump Super Stars commercial was just a typo. I've seen the anime goods that have been put out recently and it's still Zoro on those. And as it's been said before the Japanese have no 'r' or 'l'. They have a letter that can sound similiar to those two letter, but it's not the actual equivilant of either of them. So it's a guessing game on how names that are supposed to be romanized that use that letter.
On another note I found the Sept. issue of Shonen Jump at my local B&N and they mention that the first season of One Piece is coming to an end. I wonder if that means that they're going to begin repeats soon then.
Well Viz is putting three chapters a month in Shonen Jump more often than naught so that could be why there are more release dates.
Damn, at this rate K-F is going to catch up to the DVD releases in no time.

I dread to think Chopper's voice. It'll probably too sqeaky…I shudder in fear!

I'm scared that they'll give him the squeaky voice for his small form and then have his voice go deep when he transforms into his large form. shudder

They do finally show Sanji for the game and it looks like they just edited out his cigarette completely for it.

I'm still confused about the Navy thing. Was that changed along with Zoro to Zolo. Or was it always Navy.

I checked the first GN and it's always been Navy when they're talking but all the signs and insignias are still kept as Marines.
On a side note I picked up the Aug. issue of Shonen Jump and they kept the reverse swastika that one of the fish-men have in. They even added a foot note to explain what it is and its meaning.
I attempted to watch an episode a couple of weeks ago and quit after ten minutes in. I just can't stand to watch the dub at all. I'll probably make another attempt when Chopper is introduced, if just because I'm curious to what they're going to with his voice.

**Now we have reached a new level of eroticism. From The Navel of the Sea Special:

I can't believe I forgot about tentacle rape!Sanji. XP
I have a feeling they're going to cut all the Sanji/Zoro fanservice scenes in the later filler episodes. Since I don't think they'll want to show two of the main male characters almost kissing to the little kiddies. :P

btw, do Ussop and Luffy fight in this ep or in the next one?

The next one. they just yell at each other in this episode.
As angsty as this episode was, it had quite a few scenes that looked questionable.
Your Usopp x Zoro
And your Luffy x Usopp
I love Bleach. I follow both the manga and anime, but I perfer the manga.
I'm personally glad Rukia stayed in the SS. I liked her at first but she became so agnsty and useless during the SS arc that I really can't find myself caring for her anymore. Hopefully she'll get back her personality again before she shows up again.

**Oh no, I've stooped to making video clips now.Who said not having much time makes it impossible?
I think I flipped the wrong switch in my brain.

LOL, I never realized how out of context that scene can be taken until now. Such dirty minds we have. :P

I just thought of what they'll do to Smoker: They'll change his cigars or something. But, they'll still kind of look like them.

I'm curios about that one too. I mean after Smoker they'll have to edit Crocodile's cigar and if they ever get that far Pauly's. Since I highly doubt you could pull those off as 'lollipops'.
On a side note, I bet Kureha will be drinking a special medicine/health drink, instead of booze.
Ask them if they have the rights to the hour specials and the movies. And if they do, how do they plan on releasing them? (i.e. make the specials into two episodes, put the movies out in theatres, or just release them straight to DVD.)

Just finished watching the ep, and it has to be the best one for this arc yet. I can't wait for the next episode and I hope they don't take another week off soon. Though I can't help but think that might of been why the animation was as good as it was for this week's episode.
My vote goes to Chopper. I have a weakness for all things cute, and I just love his personality.
A lot of the non-violence cuts are usually made to give more time for commercials, since an American broadcast has more, and longer commercial breaks than a Japanese broadcast. It pretty much happens to all anime series that are broadcasted on a network channel unfortunately.

**> But, you have to wonder of the price of this.. what if 4Kids do a PokÃmon, and release the One Piece movies with a crappy pop soundtrack and terrible voice acting? - The horrorrr!I"ve heard rumors of a OP movie being released in the US. I don't know what format, or if it's confirmed, depending on how (un)successful the series has been.**
If they release the movies in theatres I have a feeling they'll probably release them as double features (kinda like how the Digimon movie was done), because of how short they are. Or I guess they could go the Yu-Gi-Oh! route and get the animators to make a new movie for the US market, but One Piece will probably have to be uber popular for that to happen.

**The movie shorts are GOLD. All of them. Jango's Dance Carnival is what I use to introduce my friends to OP, and it has NEVER failed to get them hooked.
ZORO IS A GRACEFUL BALLERINA**
I just love how they even have a rainbow in the background. XD

**You mean you went straight to Water 7 without watching Skypiea? Not a very good idea. Did you try the MSN group that has the manga?http://groups.msn.com/OnePieceManga

Yea, I know I'm missing a lot of the story but I'm very spoiler friendly so I'm not completely lost story wise. ^^; I don't mind waiting for the Skypiea episodes to be
released by K-F, and like I said I don't mind spoilers at all so I think I'll be ok. But thank you for trying to help out.
Up to date with K-F's releases and Gerusama's, so I'm missing everything in between those. >.< I'm also up to date with the raw episodes.
I'm behind in the manga, mainly because I can't stand to read manga on the computer screen, so I'm sticking with the US Shonen Jump release which is now ready to start up the Arlong arc. Someday when I have the money I'll try to get the Japanese volumes to catch up.
I've carefully avoided seeing the dubbed OP but after hearing all the compliants I decided to watch today's episode. I wish I didn't. I mean I could live with most of the other voices, Usopp's made me cringe though, but I want to cry whenever I think about Sanji's dub voice. Does he have a frog in his throat or something? Why the hell does he sound like Stallone from the Rocky movies? T.T
I need to go watch some of the Japanese episodes now and wish the badness away now.
Chopper is my #1, since I have a weakness for cute characters. Sanji is second and recently Paulie's really been growing on me.
I'm going to have to go with Paulie. Not sure exactly why he's my favorite so far, but I do.
I'm afraid to think of how they're going to edit the entire Alabasta arc, since it was pretty bloodly and violent. Especially when Crocodile starts putting holes through people.
