      @Smudger:

      does a philosophical view still have as much relevancy this far into the future? I mean at what point will it be invalid?

      One of the greatest mathematician of the 20th century, Kurt Godel, was a Platonist. Werner Heisenberg supported this view too.
      Heraclitus's view that All things flow is still valid even today. And probably forever.
      Though Logic have developed much, Aristotle still remains the most influential logician ever.
      And many more examples.

      My Greek reference point is all the ancient Greek philosophers.
      And I am learning Greek too.

      I would never say that I am better than someone in every aspect.
      And I think informing that I am being admired by first year philosophy students for philosophical ability is pretty fair. Originally I simply wanted to make the point that grades don't measure your real self-worth.
      If that comes off as asserting my absolute superiority, I apologize for being unclear.

      @BartArt:

      Whatever floats your boat dude. I'd just like to say that I think being humble is admirable and attractive in a person.

      To me, to be truly humble is about acknowledging one's actual ability while striving for the higher. The opposite of humility is self-complacency. The essence of humility is learning, and not watering down what one thinks of oneself or suppressing self-awareness.

      I see that even when we praise someone, we don't exactly want to see that person openly acknowledging our praises as true. And whereas we are pleased by praises, we are afraid of reciting the praises attributed to us. Is that a truthful and honest mentality, regardless of how odd or ordinary it is?

      Is it an act of humility to hide the fact that one is admired, which one knows to be true? If one avoids speaking out that fact, is one being true to oneself? What exactly is admirable about it? And who exactly does that kind of humility please?

      If one is truly humble, does one expect others to speak of themselves less than they actually are? Should one not instead focus on enhancing one's own ability, instead of being bothered by those who think highly of themselves? Does humility include being bothered by blunt self-acknowledgement in others?

      If I have annoyed you, my apology. If you are to point out the actual flaws in my thinking, I will be very pleased.
      Best wishes.

      I am pretty sure you shifted it towards yourself.

      I was giving information about myself to help someone else. I didn't ask others to comment on me, neither explicitly nor implicitly.

      @Monkey:

      How do you correct someone in a Philosophy class lol.
      Did they attribute quotes wrong??

      That happens sometimes, but often it is not about small things like that.
      For example, I objected when the teacher classified Nietzsche's ethics as deontological, and cited some of his writings (from memory) to demonstrate that was not the case.
      It is not all about information, but reasoning and other skills also. While most students here are passive in their learning, I am bold in critical thinking. You should know how dogmatic the education here is.
      Philosophy is not the only class I attend, of course.
      Though, do you guys really need to shift the topic toward me like that, lol?

      It is different in the class because:
      -I am nice to everyone
      -Helped them to study
      -My correction is correct
      -Didn't brag much about it.
      -Most of the time I am quiet, and only speak when the teacher say something wrong. And do so tactfully.
      -I know how to have fun.
      Got nicknamed 'professor'. Kinda like that eccentric, a little awkward but also quirky guy. Never showed the "I am superior to all of you' attitude. Never participated in conflicts between classmates.
