Where did you see that?
First time i noticed it was when ussop announced that he would become the bravest warrior on the Seven Sea's. Second time is here

Retcooned Idea's in One Piece
So, I'm reading some of the earlier chapters of One Piece and something caught my attention. They mentioned Seven Sea's which is strange because the World of One Piece has four seas not seven. So, I wonder, did Oda-Sensei retcon some original idea's in One Piece?

RE: Will zoro get a new sword in thriller bark!!?
And, who's to say Zoro won't be more active later on in the arc.
Seems to me Oda's saving the 3 powerhouses (Luffy, Zoro, Sanji) for use towards the climax of the arc. Why do you think he had their shadows stolen first?
I figured it was because they weren't going to be in this Arc

RE: Fishmen Island Theory, The Solution To Redline
Seaking its not as much about focus as it is horrible to read and straining on peoples eyes.
Colour codeing, underlining and bolding can be a nice way to make a presentation easier to read, if there is some kind of logic behind it. When it is as chaotic as you choose to do it on the other hand… it is just torture to any sane mind.Your seriously exaggerating, I never seen people whine about something so small and insignificant I guess this forum is special. It would be like me ranting about your avatar. You guys take yourselves way to seriously. You guys need to learn how to relax, IMO
-
RE: Fishmen Island Theory, The Solution To Redline
If someone is unwilling to read what I said because how I post it regardless of style type. Then said person isn't waste my time, I'm not a kind of person who really gives too much of a damn in what people think about me. Like I said calling someone an idiot because you do not like a presentation is idiotic in itself. That would be like me calling you a moron because of an avatar, but whatever.
-
RE: Fishmen Island Theory, The Solution To Redline
Oh, I don't lack any focus, you just type like you're missing three-quarters of your brain cells.
Just because the way I type, that would be like me arguing your intelligence because of your avatar.
You seem to be one of those guys who pick fights online just to feel important.
I thought you would notice how stupid it looks (and how much it annoys other users) if I pointed it out, but… it looks like you really just might be as intelligent as your typing indicates. Oh well.
You want some cheese with that whine?
Honestly, if a your immature enough to rag or be annoyed over a posting style I seriously doubt I would care about what you say. I don't see how it bothers posters considering I do not even frequent this forum or effect the thread with my style. Your just an picking a E-fight which is actually quite pathetic and I'm not going to help you do.
It's not like Ap Forums elected you to take me down, So, no need to speak for everyone.
If you don't like it, just ignore me instead of derailing this thread just to rant like a little girl. :)

RE: Will zoro get a new sword in thriller bark!!?
@Capt:
It's already been 31 chapters and I'm sure we still have quite a while before the arc is over. It was only like 45 chapters from when he lost his orginal ones to when he replaced them.
How long do you want him to wait?
I'm counting by Arcs and not Chapters. Zoro hasn't been active much in this particular arc. So, for him to just get up after the coma and pick up Ryuuma's blade would be strange.
My guess is that he''l get a new blade before they cross the Red-Line.
-
RE: Will zoro get a new sword in thriller bark!!?
Personally, I doubt Oda-Sensei allow for Zoro to inherit Ryuuma's blade. It's way too soon for him to get one anyway.

RE: Fishmen Island Theory, The Solution To Redline
@Zol:
Fishman Island could have an underwater elevator, similar to the elevator in W7. Example (forgive my lovely art skills)
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a233/Zoloster/Untitled-1-2.jpg
Good pic, Honestly though I don't think it will be a conventional island. Kokoro described it as a wonderland. So, I'm thinking of something way over the top.

RE: Fishmen Island Theory, The Solution To Redline
What is WITH your style of typing? You honestly do NOT need to type with every freaking word bolded and red/underlined. Do you realize how annoying and disruptive of any type of discussion this is, let alone how little others will respect your opinion when you type in such a ridiculous manner?
Not even one of those words should have been red/bold/italicized, except maybe One Piece in italics if you're one of those people, or maybe 'really'… minus the blinding red. Dear lord.
. . .That's just the way I Type If you do not like it I really could careless. . .I never seen people get so bent outta shape over something that's So trivial.
It's not like were discussing something that requires deep concentration. Were discussing, Fictional Sea Routes from a Manga.
If it's distracting learn to be ignore it, and honestly. If you can't concentrate over a color you lack focus. . .
-
RE: Oda's style
The problem there is that you're referring to the anime as Oda's art, while it's really just a crude imitation.
Crude is an understatement.
-
RE: Fishmen Island Theory, The Solution To Redline
This talk about **sea routes through islands makes me realise how great One Piece is. What **other manga is out there that allows for talk pertaining to **Navigation?
I'm REALLY hyped about this particular arc.******

RE: Untitled
I haven't read any of the manga since Raijin got cancelled. But I didn't like the animation of the anime series. Although I liked the animation of the OVA a lot, because it looked like the manga.
(Just saying what I've already said in this topic…but it's been a few years since then)
I can give you a link to the second a third series if you like?
-
RE: Untitled
The Anime is Godawful in comparison to the manga, even the OVA is better than the anime.
-
RE: Oda's style
Ok, i accept your arguments. But i think that you heard of something like taste. I have seen Tex Avery and i have seen One Piece and i DON´T find that they are similar. You also have to make diferences between manga and anime. And that he stated the golden age cartoons were an inspiration for him, accepted too. But he has so many various inspirations that i can´t count them anymore. I don´t say one piece reminds me of les miserables only because nico robins way and personality have some parts from that novel.
I was specifically talking about the presentation, besides anime/manga in general is borrowed heavily from Golden Age Western Cartoons that it's pointless to even mention it.

RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
Well, Oda did say Mihawk is above all the worlds swordsmen. One of the info books, I believe. The one that said he can deflect cannonballs and "cut the elements".
Ah, that's from One Piece: Off white
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
Maybe they had "legendary duels" over trivial little things, like who gets the last cupcake, or who's turn it is to take out the trash…
Knowing Shanks that's not too farfetched.
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
You keep changing the subject when you can't answer a question
I never changed anything, we do not know if Shanks was competing to be the best. . . We simply know they dueled an undisclosed number of times in the Past.
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
So you keep having legendary duels with a guy because you don't want to beat him?
Do we know how many Legenadry Sword Duels?
Do we know if there Rivalary was limited to Sword Duels?
Do we know who initated the Duels?
You keep on making baseless assumptions, and defending them as if they were truthes.
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
We know one is now the best and one isn't.
And, we don't know if Shanks was ever competing to be the best.
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
Mihawk is also a pirate you know, this is just your own image of a pirate.
How is it my image of a pirate when Oda clearly illustrates in the manga Pirates and Marines with blades all the time?
Mihawk has benn specifically stated to be a Swordsmen, Shanks has not.
And, we do not how there rivalary ended. . .
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
What is this this?
You expect people to take you seriously after a post like that^
Right, somehow the Worlds Strongest Man doesn't have enough power to use a cutting tool in ver threatning fashion.
You guy's are REALLY OVERRATING MIHAWK
Shanks: Actually I don't carrying this sword around because I'm a swordsman, it just happens to be the best way of opening bottles of rum.
Lets not question otherwise.
Using a generic pirates blade doesn't make you a swordsmen, It makes you a pirate. How many Pirates in One Piece use blades?
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
What? I'm curious to your definition of a swordsmen. True, anyone can pick up a sword and swing, but Shanks is in fact skilled with a sword, and someone who is skilled with a sword would have to be considered a swordsmen.
Your missing my overall point, just because he's powerful with the a cutting tool doesn't mean he's a Swordsmen in every sense of the word.
I'm Pretty sure if White-Beard used a cutlass he could cause alot of damage. Because overall, it's been hinted that he's a powerful fighter. The same can be said forShanks
Let's use some basic logic, which is pretty much restating what SuperStar pointed out.
FACT: Shanks and Mihawk are former rivals, and they often dueled each other, as Whitebeard stated.
Yes, they were stated to be Rivals and that Shanks was also capable of hanging with Mihawk. Nowhere does it say he's a swordsmen, and the two points are **seperate. Meaning he was a rival not specifically in swordsmenship, and they duled each other often
FACT: Shanks has had his sword since the beginning, and used it when WB attacked him.
And, Arlong used his **Shark Sword to attack a Luffy is he a swordsmen too?
Shanks is a pirate, it would not be too surprising for him to be using a generic pirate weapon.
We know that Shanks is still very skilled with the sword, otherwise, why would he still be carrying it around and using it?
Because he's a Pirate. . .****

RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
Info blurb on Shanks in One Piece RED (pg 152)…...
本来左ききであるシャンクスはかつて、右の腰に長剣を携えていた。 ミホークとライバルだった 過去からみて も、その剣の実力は世界でもトップクラスだったのだろう
"At first, the left-handed Shanks had simply carried his sword on the right side. When he was a rival of Mihawk, he was regarded as having some of the world's top-class skills."
Literal translation….....
"Shanks, who is naturally left-handed, once held his long sword on his right hip. Even looking from the past where he and Mihawk were rivals, that sword's skill/power was the top class in the world."
Not to mention it states in the Manga that Shanks and Mihawk had "Legendary Duels!" Now for some more canon…...........
Shanks ALWAYS had his "long sword" since the beginning of One Piece.
http://groups.msn.com/OnePieceManga/onepiecechapter01.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=29Shanks used a sword on Gold Roger's ship.
http://groups.msn.com/OnePieceMangav-2/chapter434hq.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=9746As you can see Shanks casually asks Mihawk for a match (That is what rivals do).
http://groups.msn.com/OnePieceManga/onepiecechapter96.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=1907Just another pic with his "long sword."
http://groups.msn.com/OnePieceManga/onepiecechapter234.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=4522And Finally attacks Whitebeard (The strongest Man in the World) with his Sword!
http://groups.msn.com/OnePieceMangav-2/chapter434hq.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=9751
Also Shanks projected a "Spirit" which KO'd the lesser members of Whitebeard's ship, an intangible power that something Zoro only has displayed, a SWORDSMAN.Shanks is a swordsman all the facts point to it and in my opinion Shanks and Mihakw WILL be the Final bosses for Luffy and Zoro!!!!
Nowhere does it mention that Shanks is a swordsmen. It simply states that he rivaled Mihawk and has is very skilled with a blade, That's it.
Having a sword doesn't make you a swordsmen. . .
Besides a Sabre is a very generic weapon for a pirate, just like a cutlass.
Also, your forgetting that Shanks is a very powerful pirate. So, I'm not surpirsed he's able to match a swordsmen with a average Sabre.Hell, even WhiteBeard could rival Mihawk if he picked up a cutlass.
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
For display purposes?
The red book makes it clear he weilds a sword, has world class skills and was Mihawks rival. So if Mihawk is above all swordsmen, he is above shanks, which makes him a better fighter than shanks.
Like I said before if shanks shows he isn't a swordsman then it will be unknown as to who is stronger
For your theory to be right we have to assume that Red Hair Shanks is a infact Swordsmen, despite it never being stated.
If having a sword mean't you were a swordsmen, then everyone from generic marines to generic pirates would be swordsmen for weilding **_cutlasses and katana's
Besides using your "logic"
Ace is a lancefighter because he can summon Flame Lances and he's a christian because he has a Flame Cross._**
-
RE: Will zoro get a new sword in thriller bark!!?
I was thinking the same thing, But I think it's better for ODA to hold his new sword until we get to Merman Island. I cannot wait for the next arc.
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
NOWhERe At all...just HE weIlds a SWord.
We can Assume HE is Aworse _swor_dsman But NOT a WORSE FIGHTER, that is speculation. That's what I said, By the way your posting style is Great.
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
Luffy isn't a swordsman, shanks is a swordsman.
Mihawk is above all swordsmen
Where does it State that Shanks is a SWORDSMEN?
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
Lemme get this Straight:
So, Because Mihawk is better swordsmen than Shanks. We should automatically assume he's stronger Overall?
How does that makes any sense?
With that logic I guess Zoro's better than Luffy because he's a more proficient swords men..
-
RE: Kage vs Puppet Power!!(spoilers!!)
And just what are said crews going to do to Mihawk?
Huh, what does being compared to Mihawk Have to do with the crewmen YonKou being equation?
It's not like Mihawk's strength is a Universal Standard in the Ouka Shichubukai.
Besides, how would Mihawk beat someone like say Flame Fist Ace?And chances the Shichibukai aside from probably Mihawk have their own "crews" or groups of strong guys.
Maybe, but so far there aren't any that can really compare to that of the YonKou.
And Ace is Rockstar really a good example of the strength of the average RH Pirate crewman? Wasn't Rockstar some sort of personal messenger? I'd say the fact that Rockstar was Shank's representative to Whitebeard implies he is somewhat special.
I was never really talking about the **average canon fodder crewman, though.
@$abZ:
Unless you're saying 7 Shichibukai = 4 Yonkou and their crews, which I believe is wrong.
I agree.**
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
Remember, Kidou could also be a marine.
That's Exactly what I'm betting on.
EDIT: Why do people believe that Mihawk is Stronger than Ol' Red Hair?
-
RE: Shichibukai Discussion
I don't believe that OZ or whatever is affiliated with either the YonKou or Ouka Shichubukai. It would be too much if ODA unleashes Two big guns during this Arc.
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
Crocodile was also pretty undercover until he got found out which was all thanks to the Strawhats doing.
Actually, there were Marines investigating Baroque Works prior to the Mugiwara arrival on **Arabasta
True there is no Marines following them now, but once all the shadows are returned it is not too far fetched that many of the victims will return home and tell what happened. And since Moria will be obviously defeated it will be just a matter of time until the WG deals with him.
Yeah, I see your point, your most likely correct.**
-
RE: Kage vs Puppet Power!!(spoilers!!)
@$abZ:
Didn't need to. If you go back about 2 pages, you'll see why I made that equation. And last I read, the Yonkou are the four strongest pirates in the New World… Garp didn't say anything about their crews.
Regardless if Garp said it or not, do you honestly believe characters like Flame Fist Ace is a non-factor?
EDIT I went back and read what you said, but even if Mihawk can compare to a individual YonKou captain does really that mean he can comapre to an entire YonKou crew?
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
Well, Moria is kinda going on with the whole Pirate King business and all, which I believe the world government has something against…
Also I'm pretty sure some conservative old men sitting at Mariejoa would have something against necromancy, too.
But, he's certainly more clandestine than crocodile whom threatened an entire nation. I doubt he'll lose his position because there are no marines active in this arc.
-
RE: If the Shichibukai are so strong, then why havent they found One Piece?
@MonkeyDMalcolm:
I think its safe to assume that Moria will lose his position as Shichibukai after he is defeated by luffy.
How did you come to that conclusion?
-
RE: Kage vs Puppet Power!!(spoilers!!)
Oh in that case than yeah.
But wouldn't the Shichibukai have commanders and subordinates as well?
Well, most of them should have crew memebers, but there could be **exceptions like **Mihawk who is an obvious loner.
Personally, I don't believe that the Ouka Shichubukai crew man are on par with that of the Yonkou.****
-
RE: Kage vs Puppet Power!!(spoilers!!)
If by crews you mean the subordinates and commanders such as Ace or Lucky Roux then yeah. If by crews you mean the members who aren't commanders and the normal people then no.
Really I don't see why people make a big deal about the Yonkou's crews. I haven't seen any evidence that the average (i.e. not like Ace or Marco) Yonkou crewmember is significantly stronger than the average marine. And we all know that marines are cannon fodder….
I bet Crocodile or Moria could kill most of the Yonkou's normal crewmen.
And the Marines have of course the marines. And chances are the Shichibukai have their own private armies.
I was refering specifically to the commanding crew memeber. I seriously doubt that the regular crewmen are nothing more than Canon Fodder.
-
RE: Kage vs Puppet Power!!(spoilers!!)
@$abZ:
See Garp's statement.
If you think about it, if 4 = 7… then the quantity value of each quarter of 4 is higher than each seventh of 7.
It's like pie. Cut 4 pieces of pie, you get 4 equal sized pieces. Then get another pie and cut seven pieces, they are all smaller pieces.
You forgot to include their respective Crews into your equation.
