The kickstarter just ended with a total of 3.98 millions which make it the most funded game yet. That's pretty amazing!

I think the game look quite promising and that's coming from someone who is not a big fan of zombie games. Here is a first impression of the game :

The numbers were explained… just not directly in the show.

Basicaly they are are the core values of the Valenzitti Equation, a mathematical formula designed to predict the end of humanity.

Leveling.

Totally revamped, no more class selection at the start of the game, every skill you level contributes to your overall level. And each time you level you get extra health plus the ability to get either more health, magicka or stamina.
Each level also brings you perks. Cool abilities I guess like in Fallout 3.
Also, the leveling was moved from 1-25 or something like that to 1-50, but 50 is soft-capped, you just advance really slow after that.

Skills.

Mysticism is gone.
18 skills, down from 21 on Oblivion, and 27 on Morrowind.
Tries to accommodate players who want to specialize in a certain profession (like mage or thief), while at the same time giving room for players who like to do plenty of everything. They want to keep a special care so that this feels good, not prone to cheating and organic.

Story.

200 years after Oblivion. Set in Skyrim, a region north of the imperial city, where the Nords live.
The dragons are returning, as it was prophetized. You are gonna be trying to stop the wicked dragon god. You are a dragonborn, a dragon hunter. Your mentor is one of the last blade, voiced by some old dude from Shutter Island and Minority Report.
Also, there is a civil war, since the king is dead.
Enemies include were-yeti's, giant spider, dragons and other cool creatures.

Combat.

They want to make it more dynamic and tactical. You have to assign each hand with a function I think, either magic, 2 weapons, a weapon and a shield, etc.
You can also waste stamina by sprinting, allowing you to get access to tactical positions.
Emphasis on really improving the combat this time around.
They are also putting care on how each weapon feel on your hand.

Quests.

Quests are much more dynamic now. The quests are now more determined by how you build your character, individual actions and overall much more dynamic. Examples provided: If you are more of a magic user, some other mage may approach you who may not have had if you were just a melee character. Or if you killed some dude who owned a store that was gonna give you a quest, his sister would inherit the store, but she may resent you before giving you the quest. Also, if you drop a weapon in the street instead of selling it, it may just dissapear, some kid may get it and give it back to you, which would lead to a series of stuff, or some dudes may fight over who gets it.
Also, it said that the quests you are given would be modified by how you have played (I guess like scaling the quests). For example, the location of a rescue mission would be determined by which location you have visited (it will try to give you a dungeon you haven't been in) and I guess also giving you appropriate enemies to your level.

Other.

Third person view has been improved
5 massive cities, more variation in caves and underground stuff.

Gameplay Elements
-Duel wielding is added
-Children are added
-Random encounter QUESTS are leveled
-No Mysticism skill (could be moved to Alteration or something -shrugs), less skills in this game than Oblivion. (This probably means they combined mercantile/speech craft)
-Enchanted is added
-Dragons to be included
-No HUD (or at least the option)
-"Dramatically improved faces" that show a much wider range of emotions
-Rain and snow collision (lol Oblivion)
-Much better looking water
-Increased view distance
-Much more things to do in towns (actually crafting weapons realistically, by heating them, forging them, etc.
-Better third person view
-Better character models
-1 PLAYER GAME ONLY
-Leveling up will be based on all skills, not just the six that you choose at the start
-No major/minor skills
-You level up faster by using one skill instead of spreading them.
-No level cap

• No dialog zooming
• More voice actors

• 5 major cities
• tons of scattered settlements, nordic ruins, caves, etc.

Not sure why you can get the anime but not the VN? You know that there is a fan english translation for the VN right so you can get the japanese version of the VN, apply the patch and you're ready to go. And the anime do suck compared to the VN!

I agree. Guild Wars 2 look so much better than FFXIV (and most mmo for the matter) and there won't be any monthly fee! Now that's an mmorpg i'm interested in!

You sure have been! You should at least try Super Metroid (on VC) which is one of my favorite game!

You can't instantly retry but often there is a save point near the mark so you can just quit/reload if you don't get 5 stars. It's not as bas as the Treasure Hunter trophy. For that one you have to get all the accessories and weapons (fortunately not all at the same time). That mean a lot of grinding (hours and hours) to get all the gil and item needed for the upgrading.

That episode only covered a little more than half a chapter. Wtf!?

Not bad but i'm a Quebecker too so I don't like the accent that much. I would prefer an international french version but we never get any, whatever the anime. It's kind of sad.

Apparently we don't know yet. Greg's post was a april fool but it only mean that there was no confirmation. It could still be canon.

Fadroh from Baten Kaitos. Stupid skill Orb of Magical Offense that made him way too powerfull. It probably took me 20+ try to kill him! If you were lucky, he would not use the skill at all.

And in Baten Kaitos Origins, right after changing for disc 2, they ask if you want to save so I did. (i had only one save file) Now you have to start by fighting that monster (the HoloHolo bird) and you don't have a choice. You can't level up or buy new stuff. After 20 tries, I knew it was impossible for me to beat that bird and i had already played for 20 hours so i was quite frustrated. I didn't want to start a new game. I found later that there was an option to make the game easier so i tried it and i finally beat him (but it was still quite hard).

Of course the difficulty of those fights all depends on what lv you are.
