The greatest action film ever made!
Director John Kennedys had us in stitches with his last off-the-wall comedy but now he's gone and made…a serious (?) film?!
Jesu (Tom Ray) has his homeland destroyed by demons but when he spits fire onto his fist, those demons won't know whats coming when he retailiates with sanctions-of the burning fist persuasion!
Hell is what you make of it in this action-packed comedy!

I'd argue both of them while flawed are way more interesting than Fairy Tail x Naruto

I would say black clover takes all the bad tropes and makes it good/tolerable at least compared to stuff like fairy tail and bleach when things just don't make sense. Can't blame the series when certain series made tropes horrible for other reasons

On demons plan tho, that was just a train wreck waiting to happen when shit didn't even start to make sense at the 2nd chapter

Edit: generic is not always a bad thing, especially in shounen

Nah I mean, I love this manga dearly, but it's because of that that I think that it's appropriate it has a short run as well. No need to drag it out when it's perfectly appropriate for what it is.

Like Bakuman, its best to end it early without dragging just like their final series

While what you said is kinda right (storytelling and character motivations have definitely taken a backseat), I feel the author found its true calling by turning this manga into a succession of zanny adventures mixing crazy scenarios, cooking, creepy psychopaths and slapstick comedy.

I mean, right now it's a three way race to reach a treasure. That's it.

But the stuff you get during this race is outrageous AND outrageously funny.

And the last chapter is probably the craziest thing we've seen so far. It was impossibly creepy yet. . .weirdly cute?

honestly it has to be because of Tsurumi's affinity for all things creepy and depraved that it became bearable to look at the things Norman Gein does and wears without getting creeped out. If it was someone else, it would just be very disturbing, shocking, and creepy

but aside from that, this chapter was straight up hilarious in almost every single way. The panel where Tsurumi looks like he's about to blow a load while Edogai shoots his mother brought me to tears

A lot of people say this is similar to Naruto and Fairy tail… i just don't see it tbh.

The one series it similar to from my POV is NNT (both have really similar settings)
Both have a lot of British Influence at display in their settings which make them really similar, the difference would be BC has more magic and it has less people wearing armor.

They are so close that i feel like BC was WSJ reaction to NNT success.

I can understand the comparison to Naruto (underdog mc , and never giving up logo) well Asta is not that similar to Naruto when it first started.(he was a prankster coward looking for attention)

Can't understand the fairy tail comparison though...

the naruto and fairy tail comparison is highly evident in the first 10 chapters, almost as if every bad and/or overused trope was set to 11

but it evolved to something much more than that and gave it its own identity

Gin's Bankai had a noticeable difference compared to Shikai.

The way Kenpachi is written, it probably wouldn't be questioned by anyone if he was doing this same thing without even activating Bankai.

yeah except he prolly couldnt do it against an opponent that can regenerate and get stronger because of it. I appreciate the simplicity of his bankai because kenpachi is and always has been a powerhouse and I would not accept it to be something completely different

edit: I understand he's a one-dimensional character and his red skin is designed to evoke a change in his being but yeah

also what's the noticeable difference on gin's bankai? it's been a far long while since i read those chapters but his bankai adds speed + length to his shikai

the latest 2 chapters (apparently someone would hate me calling it a double chapter) wrapped this arc up in a non satisfying way and hibanas progression was pretty awful in the end. hopefully the newer arcs can prove to be better
