Logia can't regenerate. Those bones are staying broken. Sandersonia hurt Luffy be sqeezing him with Haki so we know Haki works with more than just strike attacks.

RE: Chapter 662: Shichibukai Law vs VA Smoker
I still don't see how people think Law is Broken. Smoker already almost got him. He wouldn't have reacted quick enough if that were a Jet Pistol instead of a Jutte trying to pierce his face. Luffy dodges any slash and punches Law in the face faster than he can swap.
-
RE: Chapter 662: Shichibukai Law vs VA Smoker
It only happened because Smoker has a seastone in that weapon.
All seastone did was stop Law from slicing the Jutte. The Jutte didn't make any contact with Law. Had nothing to do with him being choke slammed.
-
RE: Chapter 662: Shichibukai Law vs VA Smoker
Nice to see Law get choked and struggle a bit in close quarters. Really shows he is not as physically strong as his peers.
-
RE: Chapter 661: The Lake of Bandits
Correction 21 foot tall bear-man.
Who thinks Law dodged Smoker's attack with pure speed or can he move instantaneously in his room like Kuma?
-
RE: Chapter 661: The Lake of Bandits
Don't really like the idea of "haki levels".
-
RE: General Blackbeard Thread
He just got the names mixed up. Sandersonia was hurting Luffy by squeezing him before slamming into the ground.

New Warlord will be fodder for someone like Kidd or Hawkins to destroy
-
RE: Chapter 656: "Adventure on the Burning Island"
Why is nobody commenting on the guy's "more allies of the Shichibukai" line? Law is likely there but it doesn't mean he is actually the Shichibukai. You don't refer to a bosses subordinate's as their allies so it sounds like a team of important players not just one person and his goons.

We've seen Raijin zero times. We saw a landmass with lighting down on it. Not what was on it.

RE: Things That You Would Like to See in the Manga
What is your deal? I say his bounty could be slightly lower than the rest because he doesn't have a fruit that can destroy the world and doesn't kill or enslave millions of civilians and you somehow have a problem with that position?

RE: Things That You Would Like to See in the Manga
What the goverment fears of Shanks is his influence and his personality. He may seem relaxed and peacefull but they know but he can turn the world upside down in once.At the moment he must be the most feared yonkou out of the 3(+1 BB).
Kaido (Seems like he was easily intercepted from Shanks before attacking BB.In any case he either LOST or Runned away)
Big Mom (She is the weakest of the 4 yonkou because she will be the first yonkou Luffy will be facing.Oda is always like this , and it is logical for Luffy to fight the weakest yonku first.Like on the east blue , he first took on Buggy 15M then Don Krieg 17M then Arlong 20M.)
Blackbeard (The 2nd biggest threat after shanks. He is the first man ever to have eaten 2 Devil's Fruits and he is at the moment powerfull.BUT what he lacks is mental power. He is reckless and dont know how to use his powers and he is a total 0 on strategics. He will be ass kicked sooner or later without having done anything serius prolly.)Shanks.(Pirate King's crew mate + Have been to Raftel + He knows about Void Century + Haousoku Haki + Prolly knows some things about the Will Of D + Powerfull and loyal mates + Strategically and mental power) are enough to make him the biggest of the 4 for now.
Pretty much all conjecture for why he must be the most threatening. Being particularly nasty and violent is a very good reason to have a higher bounty than someone who is just a potential threat. Big Mam and Kaidou threatens dozens perhaps hundreds of Islands right now every day. Shanks is a guy who parties, minds his own business, who is potentially dangerous for the info he may have. Though there is really little reason to assume Roger took cabin boys and a load of fodder to Raftel, Shanks would know much about the void century(Robin doesn't really share that much info with the SH now), and I doubt the other two don't have Coc just because Fossa didn't say they did during the war. Even if they don't why would that be such a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

RE: Things That You Would Like to See in the Manga
Uhh, I don't think that was ever stated. Also… what's with the approximately? How could you know that.
About the Okama thing... I really, really hope that never happens.
Ehh, I like the concept, but I think I'd rather see bounties. Oda just has to not make them anything ridiculous. I remember Jinbei's being 400 billion, and that's not too bad. Oh... and Shank's wouldn't be considered good in the government's eyes. In fact, outside of Dragon he'd probably have quite the high bounty because of his connections and interruption of the war.
Jinbe's bout is 400 Million. A Yonkou and their top men bounties would obviously be much much higher. No way they wouldn't get ridiculous. Don't get what you're saying about Shanks. Both Sengoku and the Gorousei talk highly have had good things to say about Shanks. I'm only saying because of that he would have a lower bounty among the Yonkou who have committed severe atrocities.

RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
Giant is Broggy. Pretty sure that is not proto-wyper. Boa and Broggy are close and Samurai is also very detailed so the cannon dude will likely look relatively close to that image. Not like old badass/kinda generic pretty boy Hyozo who was just a quickly done sketch.
-
RE: Things That You Would Like to See in the Manga
A Most Wanted List. Oda seems to be keeping the big players bounty a mystery likely because they are likely obscenely high. I don't think I'm alone in saying I don't want to see many bounties in the billions. Also don't want the anime to just stop telling us how much of a threat Luffy is becoming. Instead a New World Most Wanted List could be introduced to show us how threatening the M.trio, Kid, Law, etc. are becoming by having them rise in the ranks without actually disclosing most Top 100 Bounties. We just get hints at how high they are from other character bounties in and out of the top 100. We'll know they have become a big deal when they break the top 25 and then single digits.
So #1 Dragon, #2 Teach, #3 Kaidou, #4 Big Mam, #5 Shanks(lower because he's good).

RE: The Great New World Discussion Thread
We're not getting chapters like that again unless another big event like the war happens which won't happen for years. We got those recap chapters to set up future plotlines involving all those characters. Now we have to wait until they reappear to see what has happened these two years.

RE: Chapter 655: Punk Hazard
I'm pretty sure this has already been brought up by the usual suspects (blue-san, etc.), but didn't Zoro specifically state that Ryumma was a Samurai from Wano Country after he defeated him? I also remember he said they should pretend this match never happened, but still…Oda might have to explain that in the SBS later on.
Oda already did confirm Ryuuma from his short is the same Ryuuma Zoro defeated. Zoro saying he wants to pretend the fight didn't happen is because he feels/understands that he did not defeat the real Ryuuma but an upgraded Brooke doppelganger. So he wants no recognition for defeating the real thing.
No, we saw the seas when Sanjuan Wolf was standing in the waters and it was not on fire. and the seas were not red. The land was on fire because two pirate crew had fought- Bonney pirates that were throughly kicked by the Blackbeard pirates. IT was not the same island.
No that Island was clearly on fire long before BB set foot there. It was simply a different Island on fire.

RE: Chapter 655: Punk Hazard
Do you guys really argue about something that trivial?
Believe me I'm more blown away than you. I make a comment about Luffy not taking the heat in stride and….
-
RE: Chapter 655: Punk Hazard
so you can decide what i mean by immune yet i can't decide waht you mean by resistance?
And no resistance to heat does not mean "he feels hot but isn't bothered enough to take off his shirt or comment about it" What you are saying is he tolerates heat up to a certain point. If he was resistant to heat he would not feel it at all. When i am cooking I put on heat resistant gloves to take stuff out of the oven. Or When i am working with electricity I may wear rubber gloves to have a electrical resistance.
Stop talking to me. You are in another world and I am done with you. You go from one extreme to the next. From the wrong interpretation of "resistance" to now the ultra-literal and narrow definition of resistance.
-
RE: Chapter 655: Punk Hazard
And you sir are being an idiot. I have clearly stated in all of my posts about how Luffy was in the heat area for what all of a few hours. And that was years ago. NO WAY would that ever build up a resistance to heat.
And yes resistance and immunity are same damn thing in this case. If someone is able to walk around a freezing cold antarctic in their t-shirt and shorts, they would be considered immune to the cold. Makes more sense saying that than saying they are resistant to the cold.
How can you decide what I meant by resistance? Immunity to heat would mean he wouldn't feel hot at all. Resistance simply means he feels hot but isn't bothered enough to take off his shirt or comment about it. I used it in its proper form and you're using it in its general vague sense then begin to argue based on that incorrect interpretation despite me correcting you on my stance. Now you're on this name call bullshit and bringing up some non-applicable nonsense about Antarctica? Like I said you're unbelievable. Arguing against an idea I never had. You even say what I meant in your post and when I say "Dude that is what I meant" you still argue something else entirely. I don't even know what that kind absurdity is called?
-
RE: Chapter 655: Punk Hazard
^^^^
Nope, but people seem to feel that everything in the series must be either a DF or Haki now. -
RE: Chapter 655: Punk Hazard
resistance, immunity same thing.
You're unbelievable. They are two completely different words with completely different meanings.
I just skimmed the rest and see how entirely hopeless this conversation with you will be.
you just become more used to it the longer you are in it. Doesn't mean you still aren't hot.
Guess what. This is all I was talking about. I wasn't talking about Luffy evolving his body like a Toriko character so he can handle heavy gravity, extreme heat, not breath white breath in the cold, or developing antibodies for poison. I was talking about Luffy taking the heat like a man with few signs of being uncomfortable. That is all.
-
RE: Chapter 655: Punk Hazard
I actually like that the crew members feel the weather around them. Makes it more logical. In quite a few series characters are in the same exact outfits for the rest of the series, regardless of heat, cold or other weather conditions, or in general, sometimes it's just wierd.
Yes but in this case it makes perfect sense for our superhuman characters to not be effected by weather extremes. Better excuse than the "Because we're awesome", excuse given in other manga.
@Hinscher.
I said resistance so why would you repeatedly mention "immunity"? -
RE: Chapter 655: Punk Hazard
I'm disappointed that Luffy is effected by the heat at all. His second run of Level 4 ID they all ran around just fine and he just spent 2 years on an island with crazy weekly changing weather. I know its for comedy&fan service but it would be nice if Luffy showed some resistance to weather&temperature extremes.
@Donkey:
I have a small theory. Dragons became extinct few centuries ago. Dr vaga punk conducted experiments on this island to genetically resurract dragons from DNA (much like jurrasic park), he was successful but dragons were dangerous and out of control , so the facility got destroyed by dragons. The samurai are there on punk hazard to hunt dragons as it seems history of wano is some how associated with dragons.
Best theory. Actually the monster mark on the door and the giant skull may indicate Vegapunk tried to resurrect many different types of mythical creatures not just Dragons. Samurai on the Ice Half to keep other would be hunters away

RE: The Great New World Discussion Thread
Exactly. At that point in the story we didn't and weren't supposed to know Crocus was a member of the Roger Pirates. So what we were shown was not an image from Crocus's memory but an image of a random mysterious island at the end of the Grand Line meant to keep us readers in suspense. You weren't supposed to reread that chapter 300 chapters later and go, "OMG!!! That actually was the real thing".
-
RE: The Great New World Discussion Thread
@Miss:
That's the definition of an inconsistency.
What we were shown thus far was not Raftel. It was Generic Ominous Island B.
-
RE: The Great New World Discussion Thread
We were shown a generic ominous Island. Nothing more. It won't be an incosistency if Raftel looks absolutely nothing like that.
-
RE: Chapter 654: GAM
I haven't really noticed, but did it get less violent since then?
Watch climax tothe Lucci fight, Zoro vs. Das Bones, Kumadori vs. Chopper, or Ussop getting Shiganed by Jyabura then watch MF or Moriah getting owned by N.Luffy. Big difference with spit substituting blood in Moriah's case.
-
RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
Yeah I know but I thought that page was just Akainu. I don't remember seeing Kizaru in that at all. Did I really block out lightman's image?
-
RE: Chapter 654: GAM
New timeslot? Is it possible it won't be a morning kids show anymore so it can be as violent as EL again?
-
RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
I just noticed there is somebody behind Akainu? Who is that? Kinda of looks like that sword weilding Garousei.
-
RE: Chapter 654: GAM
Smoker deals with Haki users the same way he deals with non-Haki users. The only difference is that Haki users are able to hit him, so he has to put a bit more effort against them (actually dodge or block oncoming attacks).
By deal with I mean Smoker will be used to give us a detailed explanation on how the Admirals dealt with attacks from Jozu, Marco, Vista, WB, and likely each other over those ten days. Right now all we do is guess.
-
RE: Chapter 654: GAM
Smoker can't do anything to Luffy anymore? If anything Smoker is our first explanation on how Logia users can deal with haki users. He hasn't spent his time in the New World dealing with nothing but fodder.
-
RE: Chapter 654: GAM
Im pretty sure that was the point though right?
Point of showing Smoker was to piss people off when the SH don't go straight into battle with him? Oda is not Kubo and I'm just explaining others frustrations not my own.
-
RE: Chapter 654: GAM
People wouldn't have much of a problem if Smoker wasn't hyped up like he was.
-
RE: Chapter 654: GAM
Damn it. This means Smoker won't even notice they appeared elsewhere in the NW until he hears news of further exploits. Unless they are only kind of far away and they'll be spotted by lesser marines soon enough for the pursuit to begin. Think we'll get a small EB style arc before seeing him the way Oda has it set up. Urouge's island as good a guess as any.
I wonder if the water is red because of algae?
-
RE: General 'Four Emperors' Discussion
None of us thought Pekoms was strong at all, but then he 1 shotted Caribou, can use haki and has a 330 Million Bounty. Baron Tamago clearly looks the stronger of the 2, hence why he was more diplomatic….
**He'll probably be a strong fighter usin his legs…**and a likely oppenent for Sanji….imo..
Well that is kind of racist….I kid but I think he'll fight more like
minus the flight. -
RE: General Marines Thread
I don't think he should be a marine. He can hunt down those bastards without that title. Admirals are needed for other kinds of things.
Also, as mentioned above, rank skipping would be strange. Especially when we have a bucketful of Vice-Admirals waiting for a
raisepromotion. He wouldn't be promoted to Admiral straight away after ditching his warden job. He'd start reasonable high like Commodore or Rear Admiral and has had two years to work his way up.
-
RE: Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
Mihawk is simply more skilled with a sword than Shanks is (but that doesn't mean that the former is stronger than the latter).
You really didn't explain anything better than sneaky did. I think he is right. Mihawk is the one who can effortlessly slice icebergs and fire battleship sized air-slashes while Shanks is better at predicting his opponents moves, repelling attacks with CoA while holding a sword instead of with his palm, uses CoA on a generic sword to not break against graded swords, and his offense is only a bit weaker than Mihawk's.
-
RE: Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
Wasn't the Seatrain supposed to take Tom to ID? If so where are the tracks leading to ID? Or did that train take him somewhere to get on a ship to ID?
-
RE: Chapter 653: The hero's hat
So chapter confirms Urouge and Capone must fail at navigation, Hawkins must be sailing relatively safely in the New World since his fortune telling skills tell him exactly what route he should take even if he doesn't have a NW log pose, and Bonney and her crew must be pretty good at navigation if they able to find Teach so quickly or at all. Kidd I'm guessing does go the most dangerous route all the time and Apoo the opposite while Law and Drake have specific routes in mind.

RE: Shichibukai Discussion Thread
It's just a question for people who seriously think Buggy can get away with it as a Shichibukai despite not being strong. Suppose the govt. wants him to do an amazing feat of strength, what can he do if he wants to preserve his position?
You're talking nonsense. You say "seriously" as if its some bogus theory when there is barely a 1% chance Buggy is not a Shichibukai. I'll ask again why would I suppose something that will never ever happen?
Warlords do not do what they are supposed to do. He will keep his position through luck, nothing more. And once again it's not as if the WG doesn't know Buggy isn't really warlord material to begin with. All the big players in the war knew he really wasn't a threat but like WB the WG will see his usefulness anyways. You should stop the improbable Q&A and prepare yourself for all the wacky ways Oda plans for Buggy continue to rise in the world's hierarchy through no merit of his own.
For two years Buggy likely didn't have any problems getting by with his reputation. Most people not wanting to test him, some stronger rookies trying and loosing to the ID prisoners, and strong guys not paying attention to him because he is just Buggy. The next time we see Buggy he'll obviously be forced to prove his worth(since otherwise why reintroduce him) and somehow some way he is going to succeed and you're going to laugh or not laugh at how it goes down.

Or simply someone who looks like an animal.
http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090908085743/onepiece/images/4/48/Masira.png
Another ape passing for a human works. A cartoon cat not so much. Black house-cat zoan that looks goofy because oda wishes it works for me.
Mashira's tail may be fake like Mag's horns.
-
RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
That person in Hawkin's crew may very well just be a zoan or even a mask.
-
RE: Shichibukai Discussion Thread
Why can't Alvida get stronge? She has always been a brawler so unless she has been coasting on the ID prisoners reps she should be stronger just being on the Grand Line or possibly New World for 2 years. It's the other two Buggy pirates I think would get by solely on their bosses new found reputation.
Okay, suppose let's say… The government tells him to do something spectacular that will prove his strength all by himself. How do you think things are going to turn out?
Since when do Warlords do what they are supposed to do? Why ask questions about never-gonna-happen hypotheticals? Pretty sure the WG themselves know perfectly well Buggy isn't a Warlord in strength. Won't be a joke only the readers and Alvida&Mr.3 understand.
-
RE: General Marines Thread
What about Kuzan then? Now that he's not part of the Marines, it wouldn't feel right to call him by his code name.
He's been called Kuzan plenty of times so it won't be weird to here it more often just like it won't be weird to here Blackbeard more often than Teach from now on. Kizaru is still a marine though.
-
RE: General Marines Thread
Speaking of Akainu/Sakazuki, I wonder if people will keep calling Borsalino "Kizaru". With Sakazuki promoted and Kuzan gone, it would be weird if Borsalino kept being called by his epithet due to the thematic of the Three Admirals being destroyed.
Kizaru is still his code name. Don't see how his compatriots being gone changes that.

RE: Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
What do you mean never worked? You make it sound like WB is fire immune lol. It didn't work because WB was awake and ready to deflect his attacks. If Ace managed to hit WB in the head with a fire attack he would be fucking dead. And when i say head i mean piercing his brain exactly in the middle of his forehead with a fire lance while he is sleeping. So basically what you are saying is that because Ace couldn't kill WB with his Fire powers he could do so with a kinfe right? Are you even serious?
So if i cannot kill someone with a bomb i might try to cut his throat, just to see if it works, right? You're an idiot. Please don't respond back with "Why because you can't understand my questions blah blah blah". You're just a troll at this point….and an idiot. I know disrespectful comments like that don't transfer very well over the internet but I mean it so very much.
But what exactly do you mean when you ask the bold? How can you possibly not know what that means? WB can obviously tank fire way better than Teach did and Teach did it very well.. Scene was showing how desperate Ace was becoming in trying to harm WB. There are any number or reasons Ace didn't use his fire lances. Like they simply not working like you think they do. Seems they just enable Ace to burn you internally but they do not actually puncture flesh like solid lances but I'm sure you'll very abrasively disagree with yet another reasonable explanation right.
