I like Robin's expression. I'd like to think she knows this thing is extremely stupid and is dying inside.
Also, notice Sanji. He's holding an orange, or some other kind of piece of fruit. He's staring into it, while not really looking at anything else. You know what I think that is? Cause a chef of his caliber isn't going to waste his time or attention on greasy fast food.
The only way this advert would have made sense for me is if it was something like a "Vega" burger or some actual food directly inspired from the manga.
Like "oh cool there's a Vega cola and Vega burger exactly like in the manga" etc.I totally agree with your post honestly, this collaboration may make sense in terms of money and marketing, which is good for McDonalds, but for the rest..it's 100% stupid.
The picture of Roger about to be sentenced to death and who only thought about fulfilling his last "duty" and making sure someone will go search for the One Piece, has been turned into a picture of Roger holding what? A burger...! It's worst than a parody in my opinion.
Okay this is just marketing, I shouldn't take that too seriously, but still...

RE: "One Piece Color Walk 10: Dragon" will be on sale 4th April 2023
Did any of you buy it already? I saw some photos on a certain birdsite and it looks way bigger than the previous Color Walk! It looks like an absolute must-have, and it's the first time that even the most recent color spreads are included in a Color Walk volume

@electricmastro Yeah I agree with you, I have a similar point of view on the matter.
Higurashi, with her "Mane Mane" fruit could copy anyone's appearance, so technically she could have taken the form of someone like Big Mom who has the same height of Kaido and then...well I don't need to describe the rest I thinkI imagine that Kaido said "okay I'll come to your country if you can provide me weapons...but I also need a heir..you! Do it!" and Higurashi probably replied something like : "nikyokyokyo if that's the only price to pay, the pleasure is mine".
Kaido : "Let me warn you. This child will be mine, my heir, my son. You won't have any right over him, he won't know his mother, he will be an Oni"
Higurashi : "I've never liked kids anyways, not that I care, the Kurozumi family already has a successor ni kyo kyo"
Higurashi prob approached Kaido with an offer for an heir that most people before never got the courage to do because Higurashi might have known him even before the Kurozumi and Beasts Pirates allied. Higurashi had copies of Shiki’s face and possibly even Stussy’s, so it could delve into this idea that either Higurashi was part of Rocks or was a close affiliate of them.
Yes, absolutely.
It makes no doubt to me that Higurashi was either an official member of Rocks or affiliated with them. I'm pretty sure that's how she got to meet Kaido and to know about his passion for war and weapons etc.
And the fact that the Kurozumis got as far as having a child named Tama 8 years ago could also give leeway for there to be multiple other Kurozumi descendants to be out there in Wano too.
Exactly, and maybe they curse their name because, just like all the other people in Wano, they suffered a lot under Orochi's tyranny.

RE: Greg: Teacher of SUPER " OP " course !
@electricmastro said in Greg: Teacher of SUPER " OP " course !:
So although the "Kurozumi Tama" detail was revealed in SBS instead of in the manga itself, I suspect this will play a bigger role in the future of Wano in light of Oda emphasizing on how discrimination persists in society even to this day. How would you guys think this would affect Tama and those around her?
Personally, I don't think this point will be important in the story. I assume that the next time we see Wano, it will be attacked by someone who's after Pluton. So I don't think Tama's true name will matter if it's a war context.
By the way, I don't think the heroes will blame Tama for being a Kurozumi, even though Hiyori said hm..what she said. The Kurozumi clan used to support the Kozuki clan for centuries until one of them decided to betray them. Orochi, Kanjuro...they all turned totally evil because of that, but now this is history, and I'm pretty sure Kin and the others will never blame Tama for what happened in the past.
To me, it seems like everything is back to order.
The fact that Tama is a Kurozumi or not doesn't matter, and I think it may be why Oda decided to reveal that detail in the SBS instead of the main story. It's a way of telling us : "look, Tama might be a Kurozumi but she suffered like all the other people. Her parents died not because of the Kozuki, but because of Kaido and Orochi's tyranny. Whatever her name is, she had all the reasons to hate Orochi for what she had to live, so the fact that she's a Kurozumi is a detail now, and she's free to live her life without having to carry the weight of the past".

RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
My theory regarding Yamato's origins is that she's the daughter of Kaido and Kurozumi Higurashi. It would have been some kind of deal and the "only" way Kaido could have an heir.

If I remember well, Oimo and Kashii used to think that their captains were dead, that's what the Marines told them and why they remained at Enies Lobby.
Just a small correction: the marines told them Dorry and Broggy were imprisoned in Impel Down. Oimo and Kashi made a deal to guard Enies Lobby for 50(?) years, in exchange for their captains' freedom.
Thanks! I had forgotten about this part
@cavendishsama said in Chapter 1076: Old Friends:
@Ryuga-san
The fact is, they continued fighting for more than 2 years. Now they've stopped, so we need an explanation. If Oda wanted the duel to end because they didn't have their weapons anymore, he could have done that, but he didn't.chapter 431. "If our captains are still dueling, we can't go near that island. We're gonna stay hear for a while before returning to Elbaf"
Next time we see them: Cover of 490. Oimo and Kashi return to Elbaf.
We need a clarification from Oda, yes. Even if Oimo and Kashii didn't go to Little Garden, it doesn't sound unrealistic to me that Dorry and Broggy decided to go back to Elbaf on their own.
Maybe they got bored and it was the right moment for them.
I guess we will have the answer when the straw hats go to Elbaf. -
RE: Chapter 1076: Old Friends
@cavendishsama True, but when we see them fighting post-timeskip, they weren't using any weapons.
They are both best friends and "rivals", they like to compete with each other, it's part of their nature, just like we like to compete with our friends on video games just to see who's the best for example..this is how I see their post-timeskip fight.Their weapons were worn out already and completely destroyed after the LG arc, I think that for them fighting without their beloved weapons wasn't just the same.
If I remember well, Oimo and Kashii used to think that their captains were dead, that's what the Marines told them and why they remained at Enies Lobby. I'd have to look for that specific scene, but I think they told Usopp that they were gonna look for their captains.
-
RE: Chapter 1076: Old Friends
@cavendishsama In a way, their fight was already over at the end of the Little Garden arc, their weapons were completely destroyed after they used that "Hakoku sovereignty" move.
I suppose Oimo and Kashii somehow made their way to Little Garden to look for their captains and they all went back to Elbaf after that. Now I'm curious about the circumstances in which Shanks met Dorry and Broggy. It's safe to assume that it was on Little Garden, and I suppose that Shanks was very young at the time, he certainly wasn't a yonko yet.
It sounds like a nice story to write.

RE: Volume 97 Predictions/Discussion
Agree to disagree I guess. I think it's always a fun novelty to see the little bit extra when it comes up when they show the manuscripts or when a page is misprinted, but as an actual aesthetic/readability thing, the empty space and awkward speech bubble placement aren't worth it for a full release. You don't have to characterise it like I'm justifying something unacceptable to myself because I feel I've got no choice, it's just a fact that we're already seeing the manga as it was intended to be read and there are good reasons it's done the way it is.
Agree to disagree yeah completely. But courteously!
You have your opinion. It may be a fact for you, for me it's an opinion and vice versa, what is a fact for me is an opinion for you.
I won't try to win this debate by stating "facts", this is pointless. In the end, nobody can't deny that there's a difference between the Spanish, Japanese, and English versions. That's all.
I'll stop here for my part, this debate is pointless because it won't change anything to the situation itself. It's just that one will feel like he won and the other like he lost. Let's say that I lost and you won
Have a good day!

RE: Volume 97 Predictions/Discussion
But is that unfortunate? The art is designed to look the way it's displayed. Having the art run off the page means all the page is used (and given how busy the art is, means it can be displayed as large as possible) and gives the story an impression of being too big to be contained by the book. Look at all the awkward empty space beyond the speech bubbles on the top, right and bottom edges of the page, compared to how the ones on the inner panels and the left edge (which faces into the spine of a physical book in this case) are snug up against their panel boarders. There's not much we would stand to actually gain from having a "full panel" release. Oda's been doing this long enough to know not to put anything he considers important outside the edges.
You are right, we don't miss anything really important.
But, I have to disagree because I think it would be better if we had a full version, or at least, one like the Spanish official one (which is cropped but not as much as the English and Japanese ones).
I understand your argument though. When we face something like this, there are always two options. We either choose to complain about it, or see the good side and try to justify it to reassure ourselves. That's human. I noticed this problem long ago and I used to have the same reasoning.
Obviously I won't try to find any justifications for this anymore, because the Spanish version shows that if they wanted to give us a near full page (with minimum cropping) that would be possible (particularly digitally). It's just a convenient choice they made. I still hope we'll get a "full" version (and when I say "full", I mean like the Spanish one) someday though. Somehow.
-
RE: Volume 97 Predictions/Discussion
Prettymuch every page of One Piece is cropped. I'm pretty sure it's been literally decades since we had one without art running off at least one edge of the page.
But sometimes there's a milimetre or two of difference in how the magazine and volume versions are cropped (and apparently between the English and Spanish official releases too) so it was worth checking if there was any change, given how much debate that one page sparked back when it came out.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Oop, there it is. Imagine the stir the closer cropping would have caused if we hadn't already got the real whole crew at once panel.
That is totally true. Every page of One Piece is cropped, and in every version!
The only exception is the Spanish official version, which is the least cropped from all these versions. I once asked Redon if he had a backup of these Spanish chapters, but sadly I never got a reply. If anyone has it that would be awesome!!
An author does know what the margins are, so anything they want to be sure won't be cropped, like word balloons and such, goes well inside that margin.
Of course margins do exist..but, if you saw the raw art of each chapter, you'd notice that each frame is closed.
Take a look at this :
!
If they wanted it, they could release a full panel version…
Unfortunately, we have to accept the situation as it is....

RE: One Piece Color Walk 9 will be out soon (interview with Eisaku Kubonouchi)
First cover in there is the one of volume 82, last one is volume 91. And yes, chapter 921 color spread is the chronological last one in there.
Thank you! That's what I thought.
It's logical since chapter 929 was released in 2019, and the CW9 includes content up to 2018. But I had some hope
-
RE: One Piece Color Walk 9 will be out soon (interview with Eisaku Kubonouchi)
Gracias Redon for all the pictures!
Can you tell me which is the last color spread in the artbook? It's the one from chapter 921, isn't it?
I had a hope the color spread from chapter 929 would be included but I don't think it is :wassat:.

RE: Strong World Artbook (HQ)
Thanks a lot Al!na !!
I didn't think anyone in the world would be able to "sacrifice" a full artbook for others  this is just…WOW !
I saw that raw-paradise stole your scans, but one day after, they had to close their site...You're too powerful Alina :ninja:
Thanks again !

RE: Ryuga-san's gallery
Thanks for your comments guys ^^
Yes wintergt, I'll certainly keep drawing Boa Hancock (I'm a fanboy ), and to be honest, I've made many drawings of her, but not all are scanned, and I don't know if I'll share them on the internet. This last drawing of Hancock has encountered a lukewarm, ambiguous succes on Deviantart (the site where I upload my fanarts)…But since I don't have a "premium" account, my works can hardly be found by many users...
Anyway, I've spend the most part of my life drawing, so I won't stop now
Thanks for the informations The Sea, once the final rounds begin I'll try to make some draw campaign
-
RE: Ryuga-san's gallery
@The:
I understand your feeling.
Nice drawing. To be honest I have never seen any style familiar to Oda that much. If you have time, draw some campaign for the character tournament 2010 in this forum. That way you can be more sucessful. Thanks for your comment ^^. Yes that would be interesting, I surely would have some time for that, I should contact the responsible of the character tournament , could you tell me who he/she is ?
Awesome drawing of Boa :D
Thanks ^^ !
-
RE: Ryuga-san's gallery
Thanks ^^ but it's less successful than other drawings on this forum …
Many thanks for your comment anyway ^^ I really appreciate it !
-
RE: Ryuga-san's gallery
A new one, all Boa Hancock fans should appreciate :ninja: :
!
-
RE: Ryuga-san's gallery
What game is she playing?
Don't know, it can be any game : Zelda, God of War, Bayonetta… :ninja:
-
RE: Color Walk 5
Nice. What's it going to be, after Lion and Eagle? Whale? Shark? Blobfish?
Haha it may explains why they take so much time to release a new color walk :ninja:
-
RE: Hottest OP-girl
I'm a great Nami fan but I have to admit that Boa Hancock is sexier in my opinion
-
RE: Maggie's dumping ground
I really like your art !!
Sometimes it reminds me of Samuraï Champloo, there is a kind of likeness. Anyway, you really have your own style, that's a good thing ! -
RE: Ryuga-san's gallery
Thanks a lot for your comments ^^ !!
Here's a short sketch I made recently. It was inspired by the thread about Ivankov's powers :
I guess Sanji would be scared to see himself like this XD It'd be funny . I'll try to upload new drawings when it's possible ^^
-
RE: Ryuga-san's gallery

Here's a special fanart for Christmas :

Merry Christmas to all of you ;)

RE: Color Walk 4
Very good news !
I really can't wait for this new color walk, I've been waiting for it for more than 3 years now. The last one (color walk 3) was quite disappointing in my opinion, it's certainly why I never bought it contrary to the two previous color walk.
I hope that the new CW will include more unseen drawings than just the chapter illustrations we all know. -
RE: Ryuga-san's gallery
Yeah thanks for your comments !
To be honest, the "comics style" is my original style but I do like the "manga style" also :). But I'll do more comic characters for sure !
Meanwhile, here's another drawing :
Full version available on my deviantart :) -
RE: Volume 54 Discussion Thread (Cover is OUT)
It's a fantastic cover for sure ! I'll get this volume as soon as it is released ( I mean when the japanese shop where I go import it :ninja:).
The colors fit the different characters quite well. I didn't expect Sadi to be orange-haired but it doesn't disturb unduly :). -
RE: Enel vs. Hawkins
I voted for Eneru ! I completely agree with Gomu Dakara !! Anyway Hawkins is not so bad, I like his attitude and his powers so it wasn't easy to choose between them…the adventure of Eneru on the moon settle the issue for me
-
RE: Ryuga-san's gallery
jamjamstyle==> Thank you ! I've made other Hancock drawings, maybe I'll upload them later and a doujinshi is in preparation
MoonNeko==> Thanks ! I'm a great fan of Nami, that's why I draw her so passionately XDAnd one more drawing, of Luffy (and not Luffyko)
!
Full version on my deviantart, as usual ^_^

RE: Ryuga-san's gallery
Thanks to all of you for your comments !
As every person who tells me that he/she likes what I do, you give me a good reason to go on !!
About Luffyko's breast : haha they are already very big indeed but hidden by the clothes
About Batman : Thanks tigerlilly ^^ !
So here's a new drawing : Boa Hancock !

RE: Chapter 538 "Lv5.5 New Comer (Kama) Land" Discussion
Wait Wait Wait!!!!!!!!
Do the Okama's have enough food for Luffy? I mean, Luffy has never been this, well, empty.
And he was hungry before the healing. It has been, what, 24-26 hours since his last meal (not counting the roasted hummingbird) That is 15 meals right there, without him using energy fighting. Then all the fighting, and now this?
I hope so but I think they will have enough food. If no, they could ask to Hannyabal, Magellan and the others XD and maybe Luffy will be son hungry that he'll eat the wolfes who tried to attack him
-
RE: Luffy`s lifespan
I think all have already been said about Luffy and his lifespan : he's not a normal human being, so 10 years for a normal guy could represent just 5 years for him.
If we want the debate to be richer, we have to wait that new elements about it be introduced in the manga. Right now, as we all say approximately the same things I'm doubtful about the utility of this thread (for the moment) :ninja:… -
RE: Chapter 538 "Lv5.5 New Comer (Kama) Land" Discussion
@Sven:
I think I like Bentham more than Luffy's real crew now. He's a man that REALLY cares about his friends. As much as Luffy himself, even.
And as Bentham can impersonate Nami, Zorro, Chopper, and Usopp, it's as if they were all present .
But of course Bon-chan is Luffy's nakama, he's proven it enough by his behaviour towards Luffy at Impel Down and when they had to escape from Hina.
