Right now I'm reading "The Great Gatsby", I've read "Enduring Love" a while ago, and found it to be the….most pathetic excuse of a book since HP.
The writer manages to make a story containing Erotomanic, violent, homosexual themes become as dull and tiresome as watching trains pass your platform for four hours in a cold night.

For surely if when Luffy was being held hostage, Shanks' and a few others, done an almost chemical warfare style bombing of the atmosphere with haki, it would've never lead to him losing his arm?

Luffy was still a kid back then, and standing right in front of that bandit captain. I suppose Shanks didn't want to risk the kid's brain exploding from his haki or something. We saw what happened to all those people at the auction house.

Sanji-Chopper. Not Sanji x Chopper, just the two of them going to bars and getting drunk, while complaining of the haughtiness and general cruelty of life. Afterwards, Sanji tries to drag Chopper into brothels. In the end, they always wake up hungover and alone.

This is what happens when Sanji is feeling left out. Still, it's better than Zoro x Apis…

No offense, but I think that'd be a bit cheesy. Ace's character has already been used to develop BB's character. Oda's laying the smack down on Ace pretty rough. Now he'll be a helpless "babe" waiting to be executed while WB fights for his life against the marines and/or BB.
Also, while the Biblicard is definite foreshadowing for things to come. I'd like to think that an Ace rescue mission isn't one of them. Luffy rescuing Ace does nothing for the SHP, and it would be a major drag on the storyline IMO.
I'm feeling you on Luffy meeting up with WB at least once. The only thing is though… WB is so damn arrogant, I don't know if it'd serve any purpose. He'd just think Luffy is some punk kid. I'm actually more interested in Luffy meeting up and talking with Dragon. Don't know why that popped into my head, but I think that'd be a star wars worthy scene for One Piece

Either WB barely manages to free Ace before his death or capture, or Luffy and co can save him.
Hell, maybe Garp even tries to help save his grandson.
Also, maybe Ace joins the crew, his goal being to defeat Teach.
Damn, I hate the idea of WB dying.

Everyone who knew Roger, instantly thought of Luffy being really similar to him.
So no, WB and Luffy shouldn't meet, unless Luffy gets a huge power-up.
Because WB would just get so pissed, and try to kill Luffy.

He said once, right at the start that Sasuke was his favorite character to draw, we should've known.
Also, he stated that he didn't like drawing female main characters…due to being sexist or something.

Man, that comparison shows it all.
pt1 looks like more time has been put into it while Shippuden is just rushed.

I think Garp is 2 proud to hid like that. It's not as if him being a Vice Admiral isn't anything to be ashamed of either.

But the Tenryuubuto are entitled to Admirals and them being the way they are, they would just complain about it and try to contact a real admiral.
But yeah, Garp got away with helping Luffy once, I don't think he'd be able to pull that sort of stunt off.
Unless he answers that message/call before anyone else notices.
