I've read half of the posts in this topic and I agree that a crime as badass as attacking EL should make Luffy in term with Shichibukai.
I mean come on the guy is a Pirate King wannabe, son of Dragon the revolutionist, defeated a former shichibukai (which was, btw, 80 mil or something), attacked and escaped EL, escaped the buster call, defeated CP9, have Zorro the pirate hunter, Sniper King (which as declared war with the WG), Robin (demon of Ohara), Franky (who held blue print of Pluton), Mr.Prince (Sanji's self nickname - defeated a whole train of marines and almost trash 7 marine ships).
So the reasonable prize for SH is:

• Luffy: 300-400 not less
• Franky: 100
• Sanji: 80
• Chopper: 60
• Nami: 60
• Robin: 120 - 200 mil
• Zorro: (formerly 60mil) 100 - 200
• Usopp: 5mil
• Soger King: 90mil

That said, it could work on other DF user, and does not have the same effect on different DF.

The way I see it, there are many kinds of DF:

• Basic element DF: extremely and most powerful DF, including fire (ACE), ice (Aokiji), thunder (God Eneru)…
• Secondary element DF: not as powerful as Basic Element, including: sand (crocodile), buble (kalifa), candle (is it? - Mr.3), rubber (Luffy)...
• Animal Transform DF: bird, animal, human, fish, you name it. I.E: human (Chopper), horse (God's ride, the horse-bird), elephant (CP9 elephant sword - frunkfried), bull, giraff, hawk, wolf, dog, ...
• Transform DF: DF user who is able to manipulate the form of their body , including: copycat (Mr.2), flower (Robin), Seperate (Buggy), Jaw (Wapol in Rum Country)...
• Object Transformation DF: transform into object: steel, spike, spring ...
• Psychic DF: can manipulate other's thought/behavior, including: Painting (MissGoldenWeek), Mind Control(Donflamengo), Spirit (Shanks - I'm just assuming)

We only see what happened to Chopper, a human transform DF. But we don't know what will happen to other type of DF user. They might have other unpredictable effect. The only thing I'm sure about is they will get stronger (and weirder).

Well Luffy's last Gear only last 1 minute. What if he can lengthen gear 2, to 3 mins or more using Rumble Balls? Chopper used 3 Rumble Balls and turned into Monster, but considering Luffy a monster already maybe he can handle … 8 RB and last Gear 2 to half an hour ?

That means Rumble Ball can be used for other DF users, not Chopper alone, right? Do you think in the future, Luffy will use Rumble Balls to get to gear 2 - gear 3? It does say that Rumble Balls can only last for 3 min though.
Do you think Chopper will ever sell Rumble Balls for SH travelling fee? That's gotta be some hot stuff on the market.

First of all the WG didn't make any Shichibukai. The shichibukai originally are pirates (they still are). But they grew stronger until they are too powerful the WG had to have a TRUTH with them. That's said the Shichibukai is regconized by the WG, they can legally do pirating if they like. The Marines won't touch them if they do their jobs. There are conditions though:

• They can not attack a Kingdom under WG rules. (Remember there are many islands that doesn't have Government, or Kingdom that have but not regconized by WG)

• They have the right to exterminate small fry pirates for bounty. (I don't think normal pirate can do that, considering they will be captured by marines the moment they appeared)

• Shichibukai can't attack marine's ship and/or the WG officers

Ofcourse, since it is a TRUTH, it could be changed. And since Shichibukai are pirates, they don't really love the WG that much. They are pirates after all, and all pirates have their goals.

The way I see it, the One Piece world are divided into these small forces:

• Small pirates (but lots of them) >><< Shichibukai and Marines
• Independent Islands and/or Kingdom that doesn't join WG >><< Shichibukai + WG + Marines
• The revolutionist >><< World Government
  ==>> All of them can be call the Fourth element, but since they are isolated and independent, they are not considered as the 4th Element. But they are still a very large and strong force.

Now Marines work for WG and is a part of it, right?
Shichibukai are pirates, (too powerful for WG to handle alone) but play by WG rules
But the Yonkou doesn't play with anybody rules, that's why they are so dangerous and considered as threat to the WG MORE THAN Shichibukai.

And so the WG let the Shichibukai take care of the Fourth element, so they are free to watch out the Yonkou (or the other way around, I don't know)

Well. Oda did plan to make this manga short. But since OP gained its publicity, he extended the story until now and probably for a long long time to come. But, as I said, since he planned to make this manga short at the beginning, he had already planted all the clues and hints for the story at the very first volumes. Such as how the grandline works, the world map of OP, Gold Roger story, hell even Garp has appeared very early with Coby and Helmeppo as training marines (see side-story one first pages).
So I can say, hints and clues of Raftel and the Ancient Kingdom are all over the place in One Piece. He might be able to twist it (it's ODA man) but not much I may say. Because otherwise, if he goes too far on twisting it, the clues won't match any more.

But I agree with you that ODA has more to plan. And if we 're able to figure ODA's story all out, then there's no fun any more. I hope ODA will keep up his work and constantly surprise us as he did.
Now for our part, following Oda's bread crumbs and theorise his story is the most funning part, is it not? We do not expect it to be true since we all expect Oda to surprise us but that doesn't stop us from doing it.

I don't think SHs will need anymore crewmember after Franky:

Luffy: captain

Zorro: supper swordman, battle type. former pirate-hunter (which was very famous), so he switched sides.

Sanji: both battle type and intelligent type. Chef. Battle with knifes and feet. His movements are unpredictable. He is not as strong as Zorro, but he doesn't have to win it all with muscles.

Chopper: doctor, both intelligent and battle type, animal (at first), he can speak animal's language. Transformer, scientist in some sort, DF user. While Nami navigates the ship, I think Chopper drives it. (sorry I don't know the word, but I think he does take care of the wheel)

Robin: archaeologist, scientist, battle type, DF user, girl, extremely dangerous criminal.

Usopp: sniper + longrange attack. Scientist in some sort, good with machines and gears. Good with explosives. Good … runner, good ... liar, good negotiator.

Nami: girl, navigator, money-keeper, kind of like magician with the weather staff. Smart type, just like Sanji. She has interests in gardening and mapping.

Franky: Rockstar (??), cyborg, shipwright, good with machines and carpenting, scientist in some sort, good with explosive (possibly), dance :D, fight with heavy gears, guns, cannons.

What they need:

• Diver (someone who can battle under water. mermaid/merman is good)
• More Girl
• Tailor (maybe)
• Spy master, who can change appearance of SHs. + could be a tailor as well. ~> use scissors
• Marine? (Zorro was pirate-hunter, would that count as side switcher?)
• Alchemist (actually both Usopp and Chopper qualifiy as alchemist)
• Entertainer (Usopp is great story teller - and liar too, Franky always sing and dance)
• Botanist (Nami knows how to plant trees, not to mention Chopper, as a doctor he should have known how to raise herbs and stuff)
• multi-personality crew member ? multi identity ?

Although I read a post earlier and I agree that SH should not have more crew members, since 8 is too many to focus on.

This is really bull. Someday I tell you, I'm gonna sue the Nazis and any Nazi or anti-Nazi related organization to take back the BAN symbol. Anyone who relate the BAN symbol to the swastika will have to pay me.

I would like to point out that the Nazi symbol is the adding of 2 Ss together.
While as the symbol used by ODA (and thus white beard) is a Buddhist symbol of reincarnation.
It is pretty common for people in China and my country (Vietnam) to use that symbol on their graves and it is a reverse of the Nazi symbol (which should be 2 Ss)

Once again I tell you that Laboon wasn't Gol D. Roger's whale it was part of the Lumba Kaizoku-dan and was left there with Crocus 50 years ago by Yoki (name found in One Piece BLUE - Grand Characters) the Captain of the Lumba Kaizoku-dan and it's stated he died in the Grandline

The part that was sent to Skypiea was the holyland with the gold city (City of Cyandora) . And it WAS sent to the sky by the knock up stream, 400 years ago.

Oda never said such things as the third Ancient Weapon. But there could be others aside from Pluton and Poseidon.

The Giants did invite Usopp to their homeland Elbaf so why not? There's a possibility here. And the Yans86 dude stated something very interesting about the Greek mythology too.

Personally, I don't like these Ancient weapons myself. One Piece is a manga about individuals, about friendship, about each other's dream. Seeing them fighting hand to hand to achieve their dreams is great. But IF someday people have to use Ancient Weapons to settle things, it's no fun any more. I mean it will turn into a gear battle, who has the most powerful gear (weapon) will win. Where's the fun in that?

I think that 3 admirals = Shichibukai (7 of them) = 4 emperors.

Shichibukai is at an advantage right now since they lost 1 out of 7
The Youkou are as strong as admirals in 1-1 combat, (some are stronger, like Whitebeard) but since they do not cooperate (pirates like to go solo) they are considered not as strong as the marines. I think it is the same with the Shichibukai. But that doesn't mean the marines would like to risk it attacking them, in case they just decide to unite and beat the crap out of Marines and Shichibukai.
As I said, the 3 forces are in balance, so none of them want to go to war first.

I'm telling you man, the Ancient Kingdom were the one that created devil fruit.
They were powerful but they have a weakness: they die in the ocean. That's why the pirate (WG nowadays) used Poseidon to flood the Ancient Kingdom. That's why they lost the battle 800 years ago.
I think skypiea is a part of that nation that was destroyed too.

If 1 chapter a week ~> around 40 chapters a year (52 but Oda might want to take a break from time to time)~> 4 volumes a year ~> 80 volumes in 20 years.

Ok, so correction of my theory: Raftel (or Rough Tale) or Ancient Kingdom, is flooded by Aqua La Guna, and only surface from the ocean 3 days before the next Aqua La Guna. The 4 emperors have never found it because of that reason.
A limited time to find the island and the entrance to it will make to story more thrilling, considering Luffy and SHs will have to fight their way through alot of enemy to get there.

Talking about the 3 weapons, : Poseidon (ocean), Pluton - Hades (Hell), and the Zeus (Sky or Heaven). I have 2 theory:

• Eneru/Enel 's ship : shouldn't it be a Zeus figure? Since it was made in HEAVEN by GOD Eneru, it float in the air, and it use Electricity (more like Thunder).
• If there was such a weapon, the Giant in Elbaf should have it. Since Giant was born first, before Zeus.

Edited: Oh, by the way, did you notice that Clover and the Whale Guy is pretty similar? Do you think they are related? (a flower head and a leafhead, funnny huh?) If they do in a way, then prob the whale guy also knows the secret of the Ancient Kingdom too.
Do you think the giant whale that Roger's crew left behind is the clue to find the underwater Raftel?

I'm not sure because in the giant whale story, the pirate crew were from west blue, the place they brought the baby whale from. And at the end of that saga just before Luffy and the SHs get to Cactus Island (where they met Princess Bebe), the old man said something about Gol D Roger.
I guess the pirates could be Roger's crew before they became famous, and that was after they have been to Raftel - the final destination.
I could be wrong though. But let's not talk about that since it is not our main topic

Do you think that since the Aqua La Guna was created by Poseidon (my theory) to sink the Ancient Kingdom, could it mean Raftel was the highest part of the Ancient Kingdom? Hell, Raftel could be under water. That's why the 4 emperors could not get to that place, since they have to wait for a whole year, just right before the next Aqua La Guna, to visit Raftel. Since it must be the only time of year that Raftel is higher than the sea level. And on that day, there is only 1 passage to Raftel that the 4 emperors have to fight each other to get through. That would make a nice ending you know? Since all the pirates + WG + marines + Shichibukai + 4 emperors would go on a major fight and the winner get to go through the passage.

Now, my understand is that the waves from 4 oceans combine at 1 place and then all go down into Grandline. That was where the SH first enter Grandline (where they met the giant whale left behind by Gol D. Roger).
The normal waves can't possibly be strong enough to push a ship up a mountain. The only explanation would be this:

• The world map on the other side of the world:

Enes Loby is the hole where the waves all coming from. The sea water goes upward created Aqua Laguna for the nearesr island (water7) and created the waves for 4 oceans. When all 4 waves from 4 oceans meet at the starting point of grandline, they raised the sea water on that used-to-be-continent, flood the Ancient Kingdom that was at the bottom of the mountain (might as well be on the west side - west blue - end of grandline)

Gol D. Roger was a powerful man, who revealed the truth of Poneglyphs. The truth will lead to One Piece - the final treasure. But that treasure is not monetary, it is a truth and a big secret concerns the making of history and even the world. To achieve the final goal, to achieve One Piece, a pirate alone cannot do it. He needs an army the size of half the world population at least. There is no way in his life time he can creat that large army, with the WG and Marines after him and all. That's why he wanted and did become PIRATE KING to build his credit. And later on, turning himself in to the WG in purpose, so they can executed him. That way he can tell the world about ONE PIECE in the hope to creat a new era, and he DID creat the pirate era by doing so.
Why is it important that he was dead?

• If he, being a normal pirate, no one would care of his death. That's why he had to make a name for himself, just like what Luffy tryinh to do now.

• If Pirate King said that he had left his treasures in One Piece, it got to be true, being Pirate King and all

• If Pirate King escaped from his execution and stay alive, says forever … (:p) then nobody would have gone after One Piece, since NOBODY is expected to be as strong as him to try to rob PIRATE KING off his treasure.

That's why Pirate King must die so that people would go after One Piece. Gol Roger doesn't care if he must die. His purpose was to make an army, and he did. Pirate God bless him...

The 4 emperors, Shichibukai and the rest of Pirate World could not find One Piece because:

• They can't read Poneglyphs
• They are not strong enough to follow the clues
• They just can't do it alone with their force.
  As for the emperors, I think some of them must have known about One Piece but like I said, they can not do it alone so they are waiting.

As for the WG, we have never seen any WG or Marines that go after One Piece. Simply because they don't have to look for it, because maybe (?) they already have it, or destroyed it. Their job is to cover up One Piece and the truth behind it.

Nami will have the Franky Family steal the seastones from Garp's ship. Then the SHs ran away into Calm Water (in their new ship carved with seastones ofcourse) . That will get rid of Garp and Coby, at least hold them back for awhile.

One Piece is a kingdom, a kingdom I tell you

Like I said, I combined the theories that have already been posted. But I have a gut feeling that this theory could come true.

Blackbeard is Ace's father ::wut: Blackbeard knows about the will of D. One day, he decided that he need to do something: join the world Government as a spy. In other to do that, he recruited his own crewmates from Ace's fleet (since he is Ace's subordinate) and kill the rest of them. Ace is pissed, and since he has no crew left, he has to go after Blackbeard himself.
Since Ace and Luffy have different last names, I assume they are half brothers.
Or I could be wrong, just a theory.

To sum it up, SHs gain knowledge of something terrible about WG. And they decided to rush to some place. On the way, they were stopped by Shichibukai. And then the 4 emperors appeared: we don't like you SHs, but we have bussiness to finish with these bumps. Go ahead, I'll take care of them.
SHs runs, and they met Marines. S***, this is like the all out war. But wait, there are ships everywhere, and not all of them are WG and Marines… There are pirates (who were defeated by Luffy), the revolutionists (lead by Luffy's Father), The United Nations (places that Luffy have been to, like Alabasta, Skypiea, Water7, Cold Island ...), Giants ... "Go ahead Luffy, leave them to us".

But then, damn, Black Beard...

There was once a kingdom called Ancient Kindom. It was a whole continent with mountains and cities that linked together.
Their inhabittants had advanced technology. But since they were so peaceful, they get lazy and clumsy. To make up for that, they make devil fruits to give them super strenght and powers. Since they lived in mainland, they didn't care much that devil fruit user was useless in ocean.

One day, a group of pirate attacked their kingdom. Thanks to devil fruit, they were able to defend their nations. The pirate, desperately weak against DF user, found a way to steal blueprint of Poseidon, an Ancient weapon from Ancient Kingdom so powerful that it can destroy the world.

The Ancient Kingdom didn't know about the pirate's plan. They go on living until the day Poseidon was activated. It created a big hole in the ocean which open a gateway for seawater to flow upward and flooded the whole continent and the Ancient Kingdom itself. Every year, the hole is opened and creats a new wave called Aqua La Guna that can sink any ship. The hole is called EL later on.
In a day the whole nation was flooded. 99% of its inhabitant died. Only those that live in the mountain survived. Weak and confused, people of once a big, united nation (ONE PIECE) was isolated, the mountains they lived in turned into islands. They were easily conquered by the pirates, who knows the sea well and good in sea battles.
The stones where the hole was opened called sea stones. They were under water for million years, but was destroyed by Poseidon, letting the water flow through, upward. The current was so great, it changes the surface of the earth completely. For one thing, it washed all the sea creatures (sea kings) all the way to grandline, where the current can't go anyfurther. It creates Aqua La Guna on the way there, and make the magnetism messed up in grandline.
Before falling to the hand of pirates, the Royal family of Ancient Kingdom flee away in a super boat called Pluton. They were lost but not lost hope yet. Since the EL hole was created by Poseidon, there is a way to reverse it, using the weapon again. But the weapon was destroyed by the pirates, and to make one again, they have to find informations from the poneglyphs. The blueprint of the Ancient Weapon was somewhere deep in the water, where Ancient Kingdom was. It's impossible to find the place in the middle of the sea, but the survivals from the Ancient Kingdom knows a way to pinpoint that place by connecting the islands, once was the mountains of Ancient Kingdom, to creat a map. To do so, they created the poneglyphs to point directions to the next islands (the next used-to-be-mountain) Eventually, the poneglyphs will point to the next islands and make a full circle around the world, along with grandline. To read and map them all, you need to travel along grandline. The only one who have traveled farthest into grandline was G. D. Roger
The pirates, after conquering the islands, make themselves governments, and united all the country and islands and call it World Government. The used to be pirates are now Marines.

The Royal survivals escaped from the pirate - now is the marines and WG. But they were not strong enough to take over the country again. They had to go into hide out and eventually changed their names. To make remembrance of the once Royal blood, they named their middle names D as in Descentdants or Defender. They forever carry with them the secret of Poseidon and WG, the Ancient Kindom that they call One Piece now.
Years later, a descendant of them, Roger, using Pluton, the ony powerful enough ship to travel grandline, and discovered the truth. Marines eventually gets him. WG could never have able to catch him, but ROger knew he couldn't taken the WG alone, so he turned himself in inpurpose, so that he will be executed in front of the world. Just before he dies, he tell the world about ONE PIECE, thus creat a new age: Pirate Age, in the hope that they, inspired by the story, will stand up and be strong enough to fight back the WG and find out the truth.
Knowing the power and the danger of pirates, since they once were pirates, WG tried to cover up the story in one-hand, and make a deal with the strongest pirates they can find - the Shikibukai, make them an oppresor of other pirates, and give them alot of privileges and power, turned them into hunting dogs. Full and satisfied, Shikibukai works for the WG, hold onto what they have, forget about One Piece, and kill any pirates who get in their ways.

The SHs find out the truth about the WG. The news is the bomb and turns the whole world upside down: The WG actually were the pirates who invaded the Ancient Nation (which was united as one kingdom, or ONE PIECE). (ooh~~)
Ultimately the whole pirate world divided: SHs + small fry pirates + united kingdoms (Alabasta-sand, Water7-water, Skypiea-sky, the ice country-ice, …), 4 emperors, the shichibukai, the revolutionists.

SH's finished them all. Luffy was voted to be Emperor, but he left the throne to Aokiji and left with SHs in the pirate ship after stealing all the treasure from the country's vault. "I never wanted to be an emperor, I just want to be Pirate King" was the last words he said.

Anyway, this is how I imagine the story would go:
Nami heard about the seastones, and she asked Franky Family to steal them from Garp's ship. Franky then installs them to the new ship. Garp finds out and he comes back to get Luffy, but the Strawhat had already headed for Grandline and the Calm Water. Since Garp's ship lost seastones, they had to fight their way through waves and waves of seakings while SH sailed away. That will keep Garp and Coby off Luffy back for awhile.

But then the SH was lost in Calm Water. Although Nami was the best navigator, she could'nt sail the ship if there were no wind. SHs have to row by hands for miles and miles for days and days. Luckily, they have those 2 monsters named Luffy and Zorro so they barely made it through.
While they were in calm water, they almost starved to death. Then Sanji had a good idea: use Luffy as (rubber) bait for sea King. Zorro cut the poor creater in thousand pieces the instance it bit Luffy, and Sanji makes one hell of a feast out of it. Chopper had to take care of the big wound in Luffy's a** but the guy was full so he doesn't care.
They are full but thirsty. Nami uses her staff to make a storm so they would have fresh water. But they don't have any water container, so Luffy steps up and turns himself to a huge funnel to catch the rain (just accept it, don't try to think or imagine guys).
Days later, Nami saw something that looked like an island. So she asked Luffy to give her a lift. Luffy asked: how high, and he extends his hand, grab her way way high up so she can see. The more he extended his hand, the weaker it is, so Nami is more heavy. He asked: you're too heavy, can I put you down? Nami heard that and pissed: "DIE you rubber foul !" and slapped Luffy unconcious.

I guess that was enough for the next 2 chaps huh?

Nami will make her weather staff eat a thunder devil fruit and turn it into Pikachu Staff. Maybe she can make it eat water, wind and fire element DF too and she will be commanding them:

Nami: I call you, pikachu, squirtle, charmeleon, pidgey.
squirtle, creat bubble defense…
pikachu, use thunder to hit them...
charmeleon and pigey, use fire and gust to creat a storm and wipe them out...
lol

HUh, I see. So if a pirate ship has DF, it will be the ultimate weapon then. Just like the sword-elephant, if the pirate ship can turn into a T-rex with gun power (1-8 cannons) it will be awesome But then again if a ship has DF power, would it … sink like a stone in sea, like human DF user?

Secondly, where has it been conclusively stated that Marshall D. Teach is a relative (or a member of the "family") of Luffy/Ace/Dragon/Garp? I'm thinking the next big "shocker" in one Piece may be when it's revealed that not everyone with a D. in their name is related to the others. There's a difference between speculating that all the Ds are related and actually trying to use it as fact when it hasn't been officially confirmed. That, however, is simply my personal opinion, and everyone is free to disagree with me as much as they like.

I believe the giant Saul have said that everyone in his family has a D. in their name.
In the family ~> Has a D.
But has a D. ~> not neccesarily be in the family.
As for myself, I do think that all the "D."s have something to do with each other

They manage to get it working in the last second, but it malfunctions,
sending Usopp to one time and Luffy+Zoro to another.

• 36 years before the great pirate age. -

Luffy and Zoro land in the middle of the grand line, hitting their heads on a piece of rock.
They both get severe amnesia. Zoro's need for craploads of sleep turns into Narcolepsy.
Since there's no Coby in this era, they eventually manage to end up in Fuschia Village, East Blue.
Zoro hooks up with a chick, has a few kids, but Luffy's blood makes him itch to sail the seas.
He becomes a pirate, going by the name Gol D. Roger.
As there's no one of Coby's caliber around, his infamy skyrockets.

After nearly two decades, Luffy returns home for a short while and knocks up Zoro's 16 year old daughter.
Zoro's pissed.
He decides to join the navy, and using the name of Garp and a piece of a dog to cover most of his face,
he starts hunting "Gol" Down. During this time, Zoro's daughter gives birth to Luffy and Ace's dad.
The baby manages to give her an internal bleeding by kicking her in the womb as it exists. She dies. :sad:

After another 15 years or so, the navy manages to catch GoLuffy'DRoger, now known as the pirate king.
ZoroGarp laughs heartily as they shove long, sharp things deep into Luffy's body.
Then he goes home, adopts his grandson as his son, and never mentions Luffyroger being his "son's" true father.

What happened to Usopp, then?
Well, he eventually got his wish and became a captain.
