Guys, I stopped reading One Piece like 4 years ago. D: But, I'm finally crawling back into the fandom, and I'm wondering, does anyone know where to find the raw manga, starting from chapter 1? I've started taking Japanese since I stopped reading it, and I'd like to both get back into reading it while trying to further my language skills at the same time.

RE: New One Piece OP Oct. 4 "We Are" BACK!!!
Hoshit guys, look who it is! ME!
Yeah, I haven't read or watched or had ANYTHING to do with One Piece since last September. It was simply a massive change of fandom, but I'm gonna try and catch up on the last 50 or so chapters tomorrow or something.
So anywho, I was checking out the LJ community for my favorite band, and saw something about them singing a 'new' theme song for One Piece. Lots of flailing happened on my part.
Anywho, the band's name is Dong Bong Shin Ki, known in Japan as Tohoshinki (they also go by multiple acronyms such as DBSK, THSK, and TVXQ). They're a 5 member boyband from Korea, but have a large following in Japan, having topped the Oricon Chart with their last 3 Japanese singles. Go Wikipedia TVXQ if you wanna know more.
But yeah, favorite band + once favorite anime = epic happiness and nostolgia for me.

RE: Bleach Discussion Part 2
I thought Aizen said he needed Orihime to restore the hougyoku every so often because using it like he is was somehow effing it up.
Somehow maybe possibly perhaps?

RE: The Villains
That Don Krieg is probably the greatest thing I've ever seen on these forums. No joke.
And those fruitfish are positively adorable. Strawberryfish is my favorite. :)

RE: Bleach Discussion Part 2
@Impel:
I dunno, Renji and Mayuri's Bankais aren't that versatile. It's just that they fucking smash stuff, and that's about it. Renji's only fights have had him just slashing a lot, firing off one big blast to finish something, or him just losing by slashing around uselessly. Mayuri won against Szayel pretty much without his Bankai, instead using his inventions and whatnot.
I think Hitsugaya can potentially do some cool stuff with his Bankai. Like that big move he used against Luppi was, to me, pretty awesome.
Edit: Anyone remember this guy?
http://www.onemanga.com/Bleach/178/07/
If Vasto Lorde and Adjustas are smaller than Gillian, then what's that thing?I forgot that ever even happened… Without rereading the whole chapter, I can't even venture a plausible guess.
However, I think I'm one of the few people here that actually likes Shuuhei. He needs more screentime...

RE: Bleach Discussion Part 2
Hai guyz.
According to the footnotes in my version of Macbeth, "vizards" was a Shakespearean/Elizabethan word meaning "masks".
You might've been over this already, but still just felt like… throwing that out there.
And I'll always <3 Nnoitra. He shall be missed. D:

RE: Pokemon Anime
I sat around yesterday and watched Pokemon for ten hours straight, including the tenth movie dubbed. It was pretty good in terms of fights and whatnot, but none of the movies ever managed to have a plot as good as the first two.

RE: Bleach Discussion Part 2
@Fire Fist:
I always pictured him bleeding green, for some reason. Like the color of Wasabi. or Acid. Wasabi would be more interesting. Get it in Kenpachi's eyes.
Like Vulcans! Or Romulans…

RE: Stuff that I compiled
I'm suprised I never ventured into this thread before… Your art is positively amazing! I'm loving every bit of it, especially the way you draw Zoro.
ahh, it was in your other thread. I saved your Hidan picture too. Awesome stuff.
And I demand to see this Hidan picture… please. :D

RE: What pisses you off?
@Sandai:
You got
GTA IV
Dark Sector
White Knight Chronicles
Prototype
Ninja Gaiden 2
Rainbow Six Vegas 2Ninja Gaiden pisses me off, just because I've been stuck on this one boss battle without elixers since about November. It's still my favorite game, though, and now I need to go buy a 360…
And I get pissed off at people who INSIST on turning their blinkers on in the turn-only lane. It's so... pointless. And they all blink at different speeds, so none of them match up with eah other. Aaaaaargh, rhythmic chaos...

RE: Bleach Discussion Part 2
Possibly, but I can't see any panels with Ichigo in them. 3 Kenpachis, 2 Nnois, 1 Yachiru… and something really blurry in the bottom left. The only obvious thing going on is that Ken's back on his feet.
Unfortunately, I've been rooting for Nnoi ever since he sliced Grimm down, and that still hasn't changed. He'd better not end up with his ass kicked all of a sudden...

RE: Who here is thinking of writing a manga series?
Sooooo… I've had this idea spawning and multiplying in my head since early summer, simply because there was this blonde guy on my brother's softball team nicknamed 'Yukon'. Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who thinks they have a good idea, but absolutely knows they can't draw. However, I'll go ahead and throw out some of the basics of my story, just to see what ya'll think. No character profiles or anything yet, just some backstory (and maybe some plot).
Title: Yukon (simply the name of the protagonist)
Backstory: (I'm just pulling most of these names out of my ass… they really don't mean much)
Several hundred years ago, there were four main villages which ruled over the continent of (haven't thought of a name yet... we'll call it Laden for now).
Nari, the central village, was the main center of trade, as it was a fairly equal distance from the other three villages. Fish was their main export, and the village was constructed so as to withstand against the near-constant downpours.
Telako, far to the north and directly seperated from Nari by a sheer cliff wall, is located in a frigid, icy region, but was established to take advantage of the local trees (haven't though up a name for these yet). Their wood is immensely strong, and was used mainly for building weapons, but in some cases was also used for construction of buildings and the like. A flume system was constructed to transport these trees through Nari and on to the southeast, where the village of Savin is located.
The Savin region is horribly arid, with the surrounding desert providing little to no resources, save for a home to the inhabitants loyal to their homeland. The economy is poor, but the village has been known to churn out several excellent warriors and brilliant tacticians, greatly aiding the other villages in times of need. Telako's flume system transports much needed wood to Savin, picking up vital water in Nari along the way.
The final village, Dorascus, was located in far-western Laden, and was known for being a strong mining village. The surrounding land was immensely rich in minerals, but many Dorascuns wanted a tighter control on the distribution of metals, and thus began mining out even the smallest locations near the other villages. About 60 years ago, after careful deliberation, Telako, Nari, and Savin confronted Dorascus, demanding a fairer distribution of the resource. Dorascus refused to give up their monopoly, and war broke out between the mining village and the alliance of three. Savins brought in a tactical advantage, but Dorascus, having metal to aid them, was able to fend off the superior numbers, their resource not only giving them stronger weapons, but allowing them greater technology advances as well.
About 30 years ago, a man known only as Harmen became the new leader of Dorascus. Despite an overwhelming advantage of weaponry and technology, the entire village seemed to collapse and decay mere months after he came into power. In less than a year, there was practically no trace of the village, or its people. Dorascus had been taken down, but unfortunately, that wasn't the original intent. There was now NO metal being regulated, and the substance became extremely rare. That which still existed came in the form of communication/transportation lines linking Nari to the other two villages, a few weapons reserved only for those who could wield them with extreme care, and a few various items left for study. The lack of metal led to a lack of knowledge about what to do with it, and metalworking became a lost art, studied more than practiced, and even then only by a handful from each village.
No trace of Dorascus or its metal was ever found, and search attempts were eventually called off. The west wasn't resettled, and the three villages were able to live in a (somewhat uneasy) state of harmony.
Aaaaaaaand, that's it for backstory. I'd rather not go into plot until I actually get more of a summary hammered out for it. (if I tried to post something now, it'd just end up as random details vomited onto the computer screen. I need to connect them all somehow…)
So, yeah. Yukon. Any thoughts, hopefully?

So Kaiencar and his mullet are gone for good?
Hopefully?

RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
(Like during the incident Carter was banned for)
I was ghetto and somehow managed to miss this entire incident. Someone wanna be kind enough to… enlighten me as to what/how/where it happened?

RE: Bleach Discussion Part 2
Something else I really like about Nnoitra's release is that it actually provides a reason for why he has the strongest Hierro out of all the Espada. I thought Kubo handled that remarkably well, unlike the Le Roux/fastest Sonido fiasco (which I still can't seem to make sense of).
And…....
We got to see Nnoi's nipples this chapter. I am content.
-
RE: Bleach Discussion Part 2
I liked him from the beginning, guys.
Mmmm, same here. I remember the good old days when I was trying to defend him against complaints of his overtly sleezy personality and physics-defying weapon. It amuses me to slowly watch everyone convert to actually liking the guy…
Anywho, I had called either Cobra or Mongoose on Nnoi's release, so I was WAY off. However, I've gotta say that his actual release is pretty damn badass. Fits him in an odd way, too. Unfortunately, his horns are bothering the shit out of me. GODDAMN ASYMMETRY.

RE: New Forum Updates
I've always loved dark skins (easier on the eyes), but I have to admit I've had the Christmas skin up ever since Ocean mentioned it, and it's positively fantastic.
I'm sorry to say I don't know how to help with that reverting problem though, seeing as how mine works fine. Perhaps it depends on which page you're viewing when you set it? Or how many cookies you allow the internet to store on your computer?

RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
I see absolutely no resemblance to a bumble bee, whatsoever.
Before I started reading Naruto, I was all, "WTF, Toki's not orange…" That picture always confused the hell out of me...
-
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
I admit that made me lol a little. But at least wasting panels with angry Juugo is better than wasting panels showing Itachi put his arm through his fricking sleeve.
-
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
Its not even his face. It's Hidans.
I have to admit that that was the first thing I thought, but once I got over his face, I started liking his bipolarity and tallness and whatnot.
I always end up liking the characters no one else does…
-
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
What's wrong with Juugo? He's more interesting than the other two.
-
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
@Impel:
Hey
Remember Sugietsu and Kisame?
Why must you fail to mention Juugo?
-
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
I… apparently didn't really know what I was doing with that sentence...
D:
-
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
Well, that's it then. Just finished catching up.
The Deidara vs. Sasuke fight was by far one of my favorite moments of the series (so far), but since then, things became sort of… meh. Uchihas are cool and all, but I'd like to see Juugo and/or Zetsu do something for once.
Nothing to do now but wait with the rest of ya'll...
-
RE: Bleach Discussion Part 2
I seem to be one of the few people that actually liked Nnoitra from the very start…
-
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
Playing trumpet sideways = bad tone quality.
-
RE: The designs that got away
I really liked both Zaku and Dosu back when they were first introduced, especially around the time when Zaku went and got his arms snapped by Sasuke. So much for them, I guess…
However:
!
These three were all, "Yaaaaaay, trio!" …and not much really happened with them after that... Shikaku had about two fairly good scenes with Shikamaru, and Chouza showed up in some ancient flashbacks, but Inoshi/Inoichi/whatever just went and... sold flowers for a few years, I guess. He had a pretty badass design, too:
!

RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
^Who the hell is this guy?:wassat:
I really don't know how to respond to that other than I'm me. You're going to have to define your question a bit further. :getlost:

RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
COhohfKPAusho, hoshit!!!!! Just finished chapter 347, and DAMN, was it epic.
It made me choke on my oyster crackers. D:
-
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
…I think that picture just made me an Itachi fangirl... Goddamnit, and I'm still like 100 chapters behind.
-
RE: The Official Honey Bunches of Oats Thread
I refuse to eat Grape Nuts unless they've been sitting around in milk for at least ten minutes or so. They're pretty much the only cereal I'll eat soggy…
And why has no one mentioned Life yet? One of the greatest cereals of all time, ever.
-
RE: The Official Honey Bunches of Oats Thread
Berry Berry Kix > everything else.
-
RE: The Official Honey Bunches of Oats Thread
Cookie Crisp is just a bunch of mini cookies that you put milk over, REAL ORIGINAL (and healthy).
It WAS original. Then Oreo O's came along and gayed everything up…
-
RE: The Official Honey Bunches of Oats Thread
CooooOOOOookie Crisp.
As soon as the Naruto thread gets on track, the rest of the forum goes straight to hell…
-
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
Bah, I should have guessed… Just read through the fight in the manga, and it was pretty damn nonexistant.
I have to say that the anime handles fights pretty well... even if they're NOTHING like they're supposed to be. Especially Naruto vs. Gaara from way back when... Watching it before reading it = disappointment.
-
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
:D Poor Gaara… I learned my lesson after watching about 3 episodes of Inuyasha. Honestly, that show... I think it's enough to cure anyone of quick judgement.
-
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
I actually thought it was quite awesome that at the same time we learned about Sasori's fightin style it turned out that Kankuro had to go up against the master of his trade.
He never had a chance of defeating an akatsuki anyway so i don't mind the "inconvenient coincidence".
Yeah, I guess it was kinda cool. The odds of Kankuro just HAPPENING to go up against such a guy were just a taaaaad too much for me. But meh, there have been times when I thought such coincidences were cool. I just need to tone down on my upset fangirling and I'll be fine…
Anywho, I lied. I went ahead and started Part 2, and I REALLY like it so far. Bells. Goddamn bells. I found it extremely cool how they were kicking it retro style and bringing the story around way back to its roots. And Kazekage, WTF. Go Gaara.
-
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
Are we talking Sasori vs. Kankuro? Or did he fight someone else somewhere? Anywho, I saw that particular fight on YouTube, simply because Kankuro's one of my favorite characters, and it was pretty good.
Up until it was all, "Yaha! I made your puppets! Behold, inconvenient coincidences." As long as there aren't too many of those running around, I'll probably be pretty happy.
-
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
Fighting, fighting, crying, fighting, fighting, hoshi-! Orochimaru in the shower, fighting, and more crying.
Aaaaaaaaaand, that's it for now. Finally finished Part 1. I'm an absolute pansy, so I have to admit that at least 3 or so of the chapters practically had me bawling my eyes out, especially right towards the end. 60 chapters in two days is a bit too much for me… Think I'm gonna have to put off starting Part 2 until tomorrow.
Speaking of which, I've seen quite a bit of disappointment from people as the series goes on. However, is the beginning of Part 2 still quite good, or do things start going downhill right off the bat?
-
RE: Bleach Discussion Part 2
Maybe it's because I've done practically nothing but read Naruto ever since 305 came out, but after finally seeing Bleach again, this chapter seemed so incredibly fricking amazing. Hell, I've missed Mayuri and Nnoitra…
Goddamn, I fricking love the way Kubo draws hands.
-
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
Noob time again…
Chuunin exams are taking waaaaay too long, but at least they get pretty exciting every so often. Gaara's getting raped in the face by Lee. And that's about all that's happening right now.
Sort of almost at chapter 100, woohoo...
-
RE: Most Moving Game Music
I recently booted Civ IV and I was reminded why Cristopher Tim is such a great composer. Civ III had a very good soundtrack but the guy overdid himself with Civ IV. Hearing "Baba Yetu" again made me feel all sort of emotions.
yWNS_GY8Kfs
That song is so incredibly epic. I'm ashamed at myself for forgetting about it…
Please tell me you'd be willing to play against me at some point in the near future.

RE: Post how your day was
WOOOOAAAAAAH, crazy storm outside! This is retarded Nevada weather at its finest… It was freakishly warm on Christmas, and now there's nearly half a foot of snow outside. Hoping there's even more tomorrow... I was building a snowGodzilla when some guy drove by pulling another guy on a snowboard behind him. He totally wiped out when the truck turned, but it was all good.
So... Pretty much been at home reading, playing Trivial Pursuit with my mom, and watching the Stargate Atlantis marathon all day. New episode in about 20 minutes! Woooooo....
-
RE: What book are you reading now?
Mmm, just finished Oedipus, and now I'm about to start The Three Musketeers.
Because hoshit, I need to read the entire book by Monday. -
RE: Naruto Discussion III [Redux]
So I've finally started reading Naruto… Zabuza was epic, so seeing him go sucked. But now Rock Lee's wearing his headband thing like a fannypack and Sasuke's getting all orgasmic while thinking about Gaara, so I guess things are getting good again.
Yeah, just thought I'd show up and be a total Naruto noob for awhile...
-
RE: What would you do if you were the opposite sex?
First I'd turn gay. Then I'd try jacking off, most likely end up confused about exactly what to do, then go attempt some fun stuff with my epic man biceps.
And yeah, standing while peeing would be a definite go.
-
RE: NYE Thread of drunkin' ramblings & keybard mashin '07
Happy New Year everyone! Even though I'm over an hour late… Hope ya'll had fun partying and drinking and whatnot. No booze for me... But sparkling cider and badass Reno fireworks made up for it.
Whoooooo, graduation year!

This is… a kid's site. But I used to use it all the time whenever I wanted to try messing around with Geocities or something. You're probably more advanced than this, but here you go anyway: http://www.lissaexplains.com/

RE: Bleach Discussion Part 2
@Mr.:
More like Kurotsuchi tugging off his shirt with the words VOLUPTURE ALIVE in magenta
I would die so hardcore if that happened…
In other news... Yeah, I can't find the new chapter. I always use MangaShare's scans, and they're being ghetto and merging (resulting in some sad inability to translate Bleach all of a sudden), so... Anyone know where else I might find a good scanlation? Hopefully MS will be back on task by next week... Thanks in advance.
