About Luffy's fist going through Kaido's face:

I think people misunderstand what's happening here. Luffy doesn's punch through Kaido, but he punches so hard that Kaido's face stretches along with the fist (which can happen because of Awakening I presume)
The same happens with Kaido's eyes; Luffy doesnt go through his eyes, but he stretches them over his hand like a rubber glove (again, though being Awakened I guess). I think it's hard to see because of the black/white nature of manga.

(I could be wrong of course, but this seems like the most logical explanation)

Edit: The some logic applies when Luffy uses his Gum Gum Balloon inside of Kaido. Kaido himself is even surprised by this and states: "Curses!! What's wrong with me?! My body isn't made of rubber!!"

The thing about colour spreads that makes them so fun to me is the fact they show us the much needed interaction between the Strawhats. The manga itself has these moments too of course, but it's mostly at the beginning of an arc when the stakes aren't that high yet and we see the crew exploring new islands. Even though these spreads are "non-canon" they show us these brightly coloured personalities interacting with eachother in wacky situations. It makes them feel like a very close family and they really add something as One Piece as a whole.

Random thought after a reread. I'm currently in Enis Lobby. Is Monster Point of Chopper the hito hito fruits awakend form? Was Chopper the very first awakend ability shown in the series?

Many fans have speculated that Crocodile's fruit was already awakened during the Alabasta arc.

They met Laboon and were told the story of the Rumba pirates way early on, and Luffy wanted a musician from he start.

Brook specifically wasn't teased in advance, but the setup for his backstory was, so it hit hard when we finally met him.

Don't wanna derail the thread too much, but I think Brook was supposed to be Yorki in the chapter where we see them meeting Crocus. When we look at the concept art of Brook he was originally going to wear the cowboy hat, and I think Oda made up Yorki when he settled down on Brooks current design. So in a way, he did try to specifically tease Brook in advance. At least, when I'm right that Yorki was a last minute addition.

Black Maria is the first to show a transformation like that. I wouldn't mind if it was just the "spider-centaur" appearance, what makes me suspicious is the spider half having its own head. That implies it has some independence, a lot like the SMILE users. But, since her powers is confirmed to be an Akuma no mi, the upper human half being a decoy while Black Maria is actually the spider makes perfect sense. It would also allow for a second reveal of her fruit, showing its true hybrid form.

I think the second reveal could be the key here. I can see Who's Who and Sasaki going for a round 2 by having awakened their fruit, but I'm of the opinion that it would be too much if Black Maria is also on that level. That way she can make a "comeback" without being too strong.

Well, according to todays chapter he had his reasons for picking Yamato for future shogun.

Isn't it more about the fact that Kaido is an outsider (a pirate even) and Orochi is a Wano-ese? That way the local people dont feel like they are surpressed by an outside force, while still resulting in Kaido being in control

I don't think it's a very controversial opinion, but I believe the awakening of devil fruits is one of the worst additions Oda made in the story. It adds nothing new or creative, makes things needlessly complex and seems like a Deus Ex Machina waiting to happen when characters (protagonist or antagonist) need to be stronger. The awakened zoan fruits at first seemed fine; although they are just stronger and more durable the "devil in the fruit" seemed to have taken control over the user's body. But the paramacia-users ruined it completely. What use is changing your surroundings in strings when you already can create an infinte amount of string out of thin air? Who cares that Katakuri can create more mochi out of inorganic materials while the more interesting part of his fruit (the seemingly logia-like nature of his fruit) has nothing to do with the awakening of it?

I also like Yamato's explanation for staying, he couldn't swim and had unfinished business. A far better excuse than, Queen put explosive cuffs on his hands.

Can't really believe that was the end of Franky's fight. I wonder when the Straw Hats will face an actual challenge in the new world. I loved WCI because it was pure survival mode. Big Mom and her kids felt appropriately terrifying for an emperor.

Now with how the flying six are going down. I can't help but wonder how the beast pirates are a threat to the Marines. Send nearly half the marines and they would absolutely wreck the Beast pirates.

I would like to hear other people's opinion on this either. I would assume Kaido didnt get the fruit so he could eat it himself (as he already has one) and I don't think he acquired it just so he can sell it. So maybe he had someone on his mind already. Maybe one of his calamaties before they had their fruit (Jack?)? Or maybe Yamato's mom, so they would be a couple with the strongest Zoan fruits? Or maybe someone else entirely? (He acquired it for 'Joyboy'?)

I think you're right. The other islands they visited (like Cactus Island or Little Garden) don't look like Autumn islands. Maybe Mihawks island? Which was again only visited by Zoro btw.

I think Yamato opens the door for Momo joining the crew.

Somebody has to inherit Odens Will and with the appearance of Yamato we have someone who can fulfill that role. This way Momo can join the crew to explore the world, and just like Oden, form his own view of the world and become his own person an not just Oden's son.

The pages on Mangaplus are misplaced. The page where Oden discovers Neko and Inu as stowaways on Roger's ship is in front of the page where he leaves with Roger's ship…

I agree with you btw, the gag of Sanji being a pervert is funny especially because it's so absurd. Sometimes I think people just say they hate his perverted actions because they think they are supposed to say that? The fact that he does something that is obviously not ok makes the joke funny. But hey, if people wanna make a fuss about an obvious joke, I won't stand in their way.

I presume King is a sky-islander with those massive wings he got. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen a sky-islander among Big Mom's crew/children. Or am I mistaken?

In this image, we can see there are at least six more "spaces on the wall" (architecture is not my passion) besides the one with the strawhat.

I actually liked the arc. I know we heard big Mom talk a lot about the cake. But it wasn’t as dragging as “señor Pink vs Franky”, “whoops, another string illusion” or “we gotta stop the birdcage”. Luffy “only” beating the commander instead of the Yonko gives him potential growth while still achieving stuff (getting sanji back, getting Poneglyph copy, getting new allies and show their achievements to the world through Morgan). The setting was nice, the characters colourful and well designed; and we had some great worldbuilding. I had fun with this arc!

Maybe we will meet some Charlotte family members in a future arc, if Oda won't be able to introduce them all during the current one. Love their designs.

Does it matter? These are just the demographics of One Piece readers. Fact is, One Piece appears in a magazine whose primary target audience is young adult males (more then 60% of reader of age 14 and below), so therefore those are the people of note. Not the exceptions.

Well, to be fair, some of those theories are pretty good.

In europe it's common to have courses where you learn how to read and talk a certain language. But don't need to write, spell and know the exact grammar. I can read french, english and german besides my native language because of context, but I wouldn't know how to properly spell and write it.
