Same here. It's silly how people here are underestimating Sentoumaru to the point of thinking Luffy will just breeze past him.

Even if Luffy does beat him alone, it will be after a moderately tough fight at the mininum.

Kidd and Law will be among the new era's greatest pirates and at least one of them will be the new era's Whitebeard. Zoro is the first mate of the next Pirate King. Coby is the boy who will help reshape the Marines into something kinder after the current regime is toppled. Sakazuki is certainly the current Fleet Admiral who will lead the Marines down a darker path.

These guys are all leaders/future leaders who will shape the world's history. The potential is there.

Okay, I admit Sentoumaru could work fine as just a wall for Luffy. However I'm expecting Luffy to not steamroll Sentoumaru if that's the case.

Like who? The imposters are pretty clearly not the main problems here, and Sentoumaru's team is currently the only WG force around that can really challenge Luffy. Vegapunk's bodyguard and 2 Kumabots are tough enough to be good punching bags for the SHs.

On top of that, Sentomaru fought Luffy practically alone last time. They're the only ones with history, so why wou Sanji and Zoro join in?

I'm assuming he's a good enough punching bag for the MT to defeat since the Kumabots willl be taken.

Wait, I figured out a better way to say all this. After 2 years story time, or a month for us, why should the final fights of this arc boil down to teams ups again old opponents cause the Strawhats are still too weak to fight them! Showing off how weak our protagonists are after a timeskip where they trained to become stronger is like shooting yourself in the foot to relieve a headache.

The Strawhats below Sanji would have taken down monsters who were capable of making the entire team sweat. And I'm expecting Sentoumaru to be beaten by the MT without too much trouble.

Just because Luffy doesn't steamroll Sentoumaru doesn't mean the timeskip is ruined.

The story can afford to have some Kuma bots get there asses kicked. They're small in the grand scheme of things.

I didn't deny the Kumabots would lose. I said up front that the Mid and Weak Trios would tackle them. Which shows the team's growth nicely considering the trouble they had last time.

The current Admirals are people who can fight on par with guys like Marco and Rayleigh.

Luffy might be able to stall one of them for a blip, but he'd go down without too much trouble on the Admiral's part.

To let the world evolve after the war and let the Strawhats grow. Don't know where you got the idea that the Trios would merge.

also Brook pretty much solely focused on music while a lot of franky's stuff is to the ship and Robin probably learned more tactical stuff and more about islands around the world. Usopp's training was solely fighting and not only sniping, the only other people with just fighting based training are luffy and zoro.

No. All of the Strawhats got stronger by a significant amount over the years. Robin for example said she did want to become stronger.

Hence the timeskip.

For some reason I doubt that the Mid Trio will be left out of the big fight.

I see the future fights going like this:

Monster Trio VS Sentoumaru

Mid Trio VS Kumabot

Weak Trio VS Kumabot

3 opponents for the 3 Strawhat tiers. Pretty obvious as far as I can see.

So what can we say, Luffy is really fast with his gears second and also strong. He has defeated all the guys above and has fought vice admirals. And he was 17/18. I would rank him as a low Vice Admiral there.
Now 2 years later, he has grown a lot stronger. He is 2 years older so he should be more manly and be physically stronger. With all the training he mostlikely also got a lot faster and he now can use all sorts of Haki.
He is atleast at the level of a High Vice Admiral and strong enough to hold out against an Admiral (not defeat but atleast hold out long enough to make a run for it)

The current Admirals are guys who can fight on par with Marco and Rayleigh.

Luffy's not up there yet. We aren't even at the NW yet.

mihawk is the best swordsman period. shanks would most likely beat him in a fight since he is most likely a great swordsman and a fighter as well. i imagine shanks being zoro and sanji rolled into one. well he would obviously have to fight with his legs since his one hand is busy with the sword. although i'm sure he would still be a great fighter with his sword gone. i don't know if mihawk would be able to still beat a good fighter without any sword or knife.

Mihawk would certainly be very strong without his blades. His physical fitness would remain the same.
