Oh you! This doesn't make me happy at all!
!
It was another fun year. Thanks to everyone for playing and I'm already looking forward to next year.
Guess it is time to step out of the fantasy and pay attention to the real football playoffs.

Good luck in the championship 1PceXperience. I'm hoping I don't become like Buffalo in the 90's lol.
I always forget eventually. Like this week.

It usually does that 45 or 30 minutes before, I can't remember which. Pretty much when the draft becomes available to enter, it sees you have an uneven number and changes it.
Who ya taking with it? Sanchez? He should be big this year.
Well it will most definitely be a Jets QB. But I'm leaning toward Geno. Honestly, I might go Geno and Sanchez with my firsts two picks. Oh who am I kidding. There is no way I could steal them both!
Yeah I'll be there, ready to take my number 1 overall pick :ninja:
I always hate having to find a new time when I am commissioner of a league. All the closest times are always unavailable and you usually have to push things back to where you again have to confirm that people can make it. The burden of being the big guy in charge lol.
The league got switched to autopick because we didn't have an even number of teams in the league.
I'm in favor of the default scoring system, especially the 4 pts for a passing TD.
Thank you :)
Happy birthday to the other July 18ers out there too.
Always hard to tell how the rookies will do. Almost all of them will be riding the bench with little playing time their first year. But down the road one could blossom into a star. Thunder have been trying to draft that future star big man for a few years now. One of these days they'll draft him. Or pick one up.
Lots of moves to be made now. Players will switch teams, new super teams will be formed, and injured players will get healthy.
Chris Paul is staying with the Clips. Expected after getting Doc.
Howard… jeez, I am tired of Howard. I don't really care where he goes. I feel like he is overrated now. Few years back, he was beastly. But now, he is a whiny idiot with some health issues. He put up the numbers last year, and that is why teams are still interested in him. But I wouldn't want him on my team. Looking at the Lakers, I'd say that his numbers don't make up for his personality.
I'd like back in. I have never had keepers, but don't care really. Whatever everyone else wants.
I always like seeing Kiper and company go on about how some dude is about to get picked… and then it doesn't happen lol
Tampa got Revis and Goldson. Two Pro Bowl O-linemen are returning after missing the season with injuries. Young players on both sides of the field have had another year of experience and growth. The coach is entering his second year after changing some things up on the team.
Yeah, I am cautiously optimistic. I feel good about where the team is heading, but you just can't ever know for sure until you see the team on the field. Can't wait.
And I am watching the draft, but when my team doesn't have a top pick, I am not too interested lol I usually barely make it through the first round if that is the case haha
Going for KU and Iowa State now since they are the only two Big 12 teams left. My Cowboys let me down :'(
And of course, within the first wave of games, my bracket was ruined. Amazing how quickly it happens every year.
Hardball and Gran Torino have made me sneak my hand up to wipe a tear or two away.
Yeah there is nothing fearsome about those either. Which is why I wouldn't pick those for my team. Just my preference. I wasn't too hot about Thunder either, and I still think that logo is lame. I'm just picky about my mascots, in all sports. But like I said, I do like that Pelican logo so I am fine with it.
Clippers can't seem to get it done without Paul. They better pray for his health in the playoffs.
I think Pelicans is a silly mascot. But I tend to like strong menacing mascots for sports teams. I understand that it has some significance for the state.
That said I do actually really like that new logo. It looks cool. I didn't think it would. I guess I was thinking they would go with a more cartoony look. This doesn't look out of place for an NBA team at all, imo.
LEDIAN I FREAKING LOVE LEDIAN
I also love Ledian. Looks so cool. I just wish it was stronger :(
Congrats on the championship Nex. You had the best team all year.
I went 0 for 2 in championship games last week. I kept saying I just don't want to lose them both! haha oh well. Already ready for next year.
The playoffs this year are shaping up to be very exciting. No clear cut Super Bowl favorites but plenty of teams who seem to have what it takes.
Yeah they do. And with their running game and Wilson playing very well lately, they are scary.
They put up 50 in two consecutive blowouts. Idc who the opponents are, that's impressive.
Points, rebounds, and assists for the Thunder's big three in the finals.

So yes, both KD and RW did their part. I suppose in my mind I downgraded them from good to ok because they kept losing lol
But like Urouge and I both pointed out, Harden didn't do his part. In 3 games, he was pretty much a non-factor.
I thought for sure OKC had the bench advantage, but their guys got hot and started nailing threes and it wasn't close.
I do know where you were coming from with Westbrook. God knows I have been frustrated with him plenty of times. But he gets a little better each year and I love the guy. One day I hope to see those selfish moments and terrible turnovers erased completely.
The finals performance was pretty disappointing all around with the Thunder. Westbrook and Durant didn't take over in any games like was needed, but I felt they were ok. Not great but ok in the finals. It was Harden who inexplicably went completely cold and started dragging the team a bit. I'm still happy they got there though. I've been proud of them the last few years. They keep improving and keep gaining valuable experience. First they just made the playoffs. Big step in itself. The next year they won their first series and went on to the Western championship. Then they won the West last year. That next step will be tough but at least they have some experience going that far now.
I agree on Love for the most part. He is definitely the more solid player. I think the biggest thing hurting him is all those games he missed.
Westbrook is averaging 21.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game for the team with the best record in the league.
He has in the past had a problem knowing when to take his shots and when to look for others. However, he has really been better this year. He is distributing the ball well, evidenced by his increase in assists. The whole team is passing the ball a lot better and assisting more. Both Westbrook and Durant are more consistently finding their teammates.
Westbrook is one of the hardest PG to guard against in the game. He is bigger, stronger, and faster than most who guard him. He blows by guys to get to the rim and can post up smaller guards. His 3 point shot has really improved as well.
On the other end, he has become a great defender. Just like in the Olympics, he hounds opposing guards, getting steals and breakaway layups often.
He sadly doesn't get much respect because he doesn't play like a traditional point guard. It is true that he doesn't. But he does fill the role of a secondary option for the Thunder. He scores because the team needs him to, and because he can. He is a match up nightmare.
He was an All-Star last year. He is having a better year so far this year. He deserves a spot.
(This has been my case for Westbrook for All-Star and one of the best PG in the game)
Very true. Yi Jianlian flirted with making it his first year too.
I like Lin, but I think it is ridiculous if he finishes higher than Westbrook in the All-Star voting.
I'm pretty nervous myself. If you score 169.26 again, I'm done for! Even if you don't go that high, I expect a close game. You have a good team.
I have the same problem. I tend to be 1st or 2nd seed more often than not, but always get upset in the playoffs. Then last year I was like 4th or 5th seed and thought I had no chance. I made it to the ship and just barely lost. Can't get that championship formula down. A lot of things come in to play. Who is hot, who is injured, who is resting and not playing, etc.
It has been a while since I won football (in basketball I have won one league with my friends 6 times in a row lol).
The Bucs losing to the Eagles pretty much erased their playoff hopes :'(
Oh well.
Fantasy playoffs are well underway! I want that trophy!
Thunder have won 9 in a row. Lovin' it.
Thoughts on the year so far.
My surprise team so far in the East has to be the Knicks. I thought they would be in that role as the mediocre Eastern Conference playoff team again. I didn't think Amare and Carmelo could work together (maybe they can't, still haven't seen it yet this year lol). So to see them at the top of the conference!? Definitely surprising.
Surprise team in the West for me is the GS Warriors. They are 15-7 and 5th in the West right now, plus they just beat the Heat on the road. I am rooting for them now because I like seeing Mark Jackson succeed. I don't know if they can make any noise in the playoffs, but just getting there would be more than I thought possible for them. I could've gone with the Lakers as most surprising, but really, I'm not TOO surprised. Yeah, I didn't think they would be off to this bad a start, but I didn't expect too much from them. Takes time for new players to mesh and injuries right off the bat made it unlikely they would get off to a blazing start.
My favorites to win the West are the Thunder (shocker). But they look great and aren't showing signs of missing Harden.
In the East, it has to be the Heat. The East is, as usual, overall weaker than the West. I don't see anybody legitimately challenging them in the playoffs. I know they have been slumping lately, but we all know they will step it up eventually.
And speaking of the Heat, I read an article about the Heat's financial situation after this year under the new luxury tax. Basically it said that they will be required to pay and ungodly high luxury tax and that there would be next to no chance of keeping all the big 3. If that happens, it's hard to see the 20 rings LeBron promised to ever come. (it was 20 right?)
Whoa, just saw I was nominated. I wasn't expecting that! Thanks joesephes, I appreciate it :)
Alas, it wasn't meant to be. Maybe a rematch will happen in the playoffs.
Ol' Dougy Martin has decided to tear it up the last couple games. And suddenly Tampa Bay is sneakily in the hunt for a wild card spot.
Thunder fan in Oklahoma here.
I love Harden. I really wanted him to stay. This sucks.
However, as far as the trade goes, I'm ok with what they got. Martin can score and they got some good picks for the future. I don't think the team is going to be hurt much…only my heart. :cwy:
My only question is, why so fast? They still have a few days before the deadline. I feel like they could have at least waited a couple more days to see if the deal could have been made.
