I'm thinking it's that he is a left handed boxer, so he needs to change his stance.

RE: Hajime no Ippo
I think this fight might be longer than we think. He is probally going to go through a pissed off period in the match where he takes wild swings and misses a lot, then he will get beat half to death before he realizes that he needs to calm down and focus back on the coaches teachings.
I hope I am wrong though.

RE: Katekyo Hitman REBORN! Discussion
It protected Tsuna from a attack of Byakuran.
Oh yeah, that's right. I just thought that the ring would be some kind of a special ring like the hell ring.

RE: Katekyo Hitman REBORN! Discussion
Has anything ever happened with that other ring that Tsuna got from that guy way back towards the beginning of the series?

RE: Worst: Shonen Manga
Love the series and its predecessor Crows (check it out!). Does anyone else but me have an extremely difficult time keeping track of who all the characters are given that most of them look almost exactly alike?

RE: Air Gear
I don't know what it is about this series, but it is quite hard to follow what is happening at times. Can someone explain why Rika got kidnapped, and what is happening during the battle?

RE: Naruto Discussion V [Re-Re-Redux]
But the thing is, has Kishi ever made any attempt to make any of the side characters relevant to any of the central plots of the story for longer than a few chapters, even back in part one? (Sasuke Revenge, Naruto catching up to sasuke, Naruto's goal of saving Sasuke, Akatsuki)
I know that they all went with Naruto on the save Sasuke arc, but Kishi made sure that noone but Naruto had any contatct with Sasuke during the whole ordeal. You could say that they were just along for the long deadly ride.
I also know that they fight with Naruto against the Akatsuki, but with the small possible exception of Team 10, none of the others have any ties to them that makes them a relevant character.
To me it just seemed like he was just fleshing out the story abit with characters of Naruto's age, and to keep them from being TOO one dimensional, he gave them a backstory. I know that many people, including me, love these side characters, they love their designs, jutsus, and personalities, but we have to realize that most of them were never meant to have a strong presence in the story on a long term basis. They served their purpose back in part one and and small peices of part two, and to keep from dropping them completely, he shows them sporadically.
This may not change your mind robby, but this is just how I see what he has done with their characters.

RE: Chapter 503 "Striping Up The Island" Discussion
If I'm not horrendously wrong they fainted before Shanks was in view.
I suggest you take another look at page 16 of chapter 503.
They did notice that they were prisoners, that somehow got free on their own, and was pretty intimidated by the idea of taking them on (at least the giant). My bad, my bad. I haven't looked at the chaper since last Thursday. I was completely wrong. But how did he knock out Disco when they were in the cages? He wasn't even paying attention to him and he still got knocked out.

RE: Chapter 503 "Striping Up The Island" Discussion
Shanks used it when he went to meet Whitebeard on his crew yet you do not mention that time. The concept of aura was carefully introduced before Thriller Bark began yet you did not complain about that time. Why is it so different that Rayleigh uses instead?
Also it is extremely ignorant to say that he did it to save pages. Most probably he did it to show case Rayleigh's incredible power able to take out a room full of weak-willed people already putting him at Shanks level and showing Luffy just who he was dealing with.
And we pretty much "got" that. You just refuse to see it due to your bias.
I sort of understand what Crossword is trying to say. In both of the cases that Shanks used the aura ability, his victims were focusing on him and realized how dangerous he was. When Rayleigh just did it, almost noone knew he was in the room and, if they did they didn't know who he was. This gave his spirt burst a sort of Professor Xavier psychic burst type of quality rather than an intimidation quality like Shanks' was shown to be.
