@Darkstorm:
It's not a suggestion, it's fact.
I second that.
Although BB wants to become the PK, he realised that u have to be very strong to do that, and in a sea full of DF users, the logical thing is to find the strongest of them all (which, in his view would be the dark dark fruit), and the best chance to find it would of course be in the strongest man's ship. Although there is no guarantee that the fruit hasn't been eaten yet, or if they will even find it, BB was willing to bet that chance. So IMO, yes he has a very strong ambition.
@Darkstorm:
You think Luffy would give up his dream.
Really now.
Someone with that strong ambition won't give up his/her dream that easily (including Ace and BB), it will take some drastic turn of event or someone with an amazing charisma to change that ambition. Such event happened to Ace (total defeat, and I would have to assume that someone with WB's caliber will be very charismatic). If, and I say IF, the same thing happened to Luffy, there is a chance he will accept the offer and joined Shanks crew, but since this is a shounen manga and he is the main char, I think its safe to say that wont happen
@Darkstorm:
So there are rules to how you become pirate king? You have to do things fair and square?
They're pirates.
I agree, they're pirates fer cryin' out loud. If u want to see fair-and-square-and-all-that-chivalrous stuff go read sumthin else
@Darkstorm:
So you think Ace giving up one ambition for a second and then having the former handed to him on a plate by Newgate is a good thing that proves his worth?
If u put it that way, it will of course diminish his "worth". But this is one of those times where the process will make him prove his "worth". So far we have seen his determination to hunt down someone who disgraced his "father", although everybody told him not to and stuff, that at the very least proved his loyalty, if nothing else.
@Darkstorm:
This has so many problems I don't know where to begin. So you think Ace, (who you believe didn't change from leaving the village to fighting Newgate in the new world) lending his strength to the Strongest Man in the World can have his resolve differentiated from Luffy or Teach(who have both proved that they are willing to die for their goal, and are both actively striving to come closer to that goal), by this "backup", where unlike Teach or Luffy who have constructed their own crew, whatever crew Ace formed has been subsumed into Newgate's, so while Teach and Luffy attempt to reach their goal on their own merit, with their own crew, Ace has walked into an incredibly strong crew that someone else built.
U were basically agreeing that Luffy n BB were greater then Ace in terms of their resolve towards their dreams right? No objection to that
@Darkstorm:
So you think he's crying about how great Newgate's power is, not that all his friends have come to rescue him?
LOL, maybe theres a dust caught in his eyes. Sarcasm apart, yeah the second fits better
@Darkstorm:
This just shows you don't understand Luffy at all.
I agree with you, I dont see Luffy as someone who will let someone just hand him the plate, he is more of a lets-get-the-plate-together kind of guy. So there is still a chance that he might work together with Shanks
@Darkstorm:
So joining the "Man closest to One Piece" is the most logical thing for someone who themselves wishes to be pirate king?
I'm not sure you fully grasp the concept of logic.
Is logical, if u were also planning to backstab the "Man closest to One Piece", this goes for BB. But in Ace's case, I think its clearly shown in the manga that he has abandoned the dream to become PK himself.
@Darkstorm:
Leaving the poorness of the analogy aside, firstly there are a lot of people who would wish to stand alone. Secondly, what makes you think Ace knew Newgate wanted to make him the pirate king?
Yeah, I also think that analogy is irelevant. Since Ace didn't know that WB is in fact helping him to become the PK
@Darkstorm:
Right now he's in the prime position to have his head removed from the general vicinity of his body.
LOL again. couldnt agree more
