Perhaps I misread… but are you saying that the art style itself lends to a possibility of fanservice or that there is fanservice in the manga? Because from what I've read, it pales in comparison to Fairy Tail (at the least) and thus not even close to some of the worst offenders. If you're just writing it off because the art looks like it can adopt some fanservice (I suppose if you get off to people with no skeletons…) then... yeah. Dumb.

Also this manga is nothing like Parasyte.

It's so good and Oda is so dedicated to working with his fans that everything else I'm told to read just ends up paling in comparison in one way or another be it JUMP series or monthly series, what have you. I really feel like getting into Fairy Tale because the tanks just have this warm ethereal quality to 'em that beckons me, but if it's a dry series without at least showing the signs of potential for depth (ie. OP we already had a growing crew, Devil Fruits to wonder about, the mystery of GL, sidestories for past characters, heavy-duty drama, etc.) then I don't wanna dedicate myself to it. Not asking for plot details, just whether it shows these qualities or not.

No real depth. They're hinting at some Mage Council having some huge importance later on, but that's it. Each of the stories before that are all self contained, wrapping up at the end of their respective arcs. It only started though.

Anything else I can tell you is worthless. Whether you like the characters, can tolerate the fanservice, and enjoy the pacing/panelling of the fights and events is up to you…

I heard some people on various forums have the first 31 chapters RAW, but considering I'm only a member here (and only wish to be a member here) getting it from them is a problem. The Good News: This place has chapters 17-27 The Bad News: It doesn't have 13-16/28-31. So I ask (with sincerity) does anyone know where I can find the rest?

As far as impressions of the manga, the fight between the girl with no skeleton and the girl with the huge scythe is crazy…

Didn't the Rave anime suck? And aren't most Shonen Magazine manga -> anime panned by fans and only 26-52 episodes long (like Air Gear or Kekkaishi)

Let's hope you don't base the entire library of either console on this shit…

I have no idea what everyone's expecting from Toriyama, personally. It's a really good sketch, and probably the same quality (if not slightly better) than some of his other recent art.

Maybe people were expecting Luffy to have Goku's face or Trunks' eyes or something.

It looks half-assed to me. Like someone nudged a napkin towards him during a dinner party and told him to draw Luffy. He sketched something in less then 30 seconds, blew his nose on it and threw at back at whoever gave it to him. I'd say only Kubo's work looks less effortless.

Also, will I get banned if I use the naked Straw Hats from the Midori no Maselkjaer artist?

a) Shonen isn't a genre it's a demographic that changes with time.

This was considered shonen when it was released. As mentioned before Jojo, Hokuto no Ken, and Kinnukuman were all considered shonen in their day but are now aimed at older audience.

b) There are plenty of unique shonen, the problem is that they're not popular with foreigners. In other words, they haven't been translated, so unless you can speak Japanese you can't really read them.

c) There are plenty of non-moe anime currently, in fact I'd say the saturation is equally balanced between moe and non-moe.

To answer the question: Apocalpse Zero/Kakugo no Susume if you exclude the story, as the premise and the fights can only be descibed as "unique"

Um… Death Note was already licensed by Viz. And is Eyeshield even popular (the manga) in the U.S.?

And let me get this straight. Does the spoiler indicate that someone behind the scenes issues an order to "capture" Naruto, or does the Naruto Leader himself tell the blue haired girl to capture Naruto (meaning there is no one behind the scenes)? The only reason I doubt the latter is a line specifically devoted to some behind the scenes action, but the spoiler pics themselves show the text bubble telling someone to capture Naruto coming from the AL himself… so I'm confused.

my explanation was shit, but prediction algorithms ARE what is used in online gaming. Just can't explain how it works because I'm a noob. Point is, fighters can't have those, and thus they are hard to implement online.

Networking doesn't work that way.

There are no prediction algorisms. Networking simply tries to establish synchronization between two machines. In other words, ensure that what happens on one machine happens on the other. There are multiple ways to do that, but none of them (well, I guess the most ineffective way) has anything to do with prediction.

The easiest way to explain it is… the network checks one machine to see what it's doing and checks the other to see if the other machine is doing the same. If not then (and this is where net code differ) it tries to find out how to make them the same. That's where you get into the algorithms and differences in net code.

Mario kart is a kart racing game. Its pretty easy to predict what you will do next in that. Like FPS and sports titles. Have prediction algorithms whose sole purpose is to send information by mathmatically predicting what you will do next.

Probably explained it wrong, but this is what the jumping is in alot of online games. game predicts you will move forward and will send this when your connection can't or something. Not an expert on it.

Thing is, it is impossible to write one of these for fighters, since they have many more options and stricter timing.

This is the reason why there are no fighters online, and the ones that are suck ass(xbox version of vf5) and people just stay away from them.

Its easier for 2d fighters since they have a lower framerate. It'd be really hard to send a 3d fighter successfully through wifi. At least to where it is still fun(unless being hit by a giagato pistol before you even see it initiated on your screen qualifies as fun)

Dimps (DBZ Budokai) made it actually. That could explain it's sluggishness since Budokai is the same.

Arc Sys' only fighting games are GG, Battle Fantasia and HnK. Sammy published both Rumble Fish and GG though. Battle Fantasia was either published by Arc themselves or Taito. So if there was a Sammy vs. Capcom and they were ONLY going to use the Arc properties that Sammy published, they could only really use GG. But like I said, Sammy has published other games, fighters included.

Wish it was that Sammy vs Capcom but unfortunately, Sammy doesn't have a lot of characters to choose from. There's Guilty Gear and Rumble Fish and that's it. Unless they randomly decide to throw Hokuto no Ken fighters in there.

But anyways, hope this turns out to be a worthy fighter. Been anxious to play a new non-suck fighting game from Capcom for a while. The last good one was Cvs2.

I feel I should be gentle, but… Sammy and Sega merged, so theorhetically they have what Sega has (Virtua Fighter, Sonic, etc.) even if it just includes Sammy, there's all the Atomiswave games (Demolish Fist, Dolphin Blue, and that one hentai fighter...).

Yep, heard the same thing Carter. Gonna be developed by Arc. Well considering Arc consists of old Capcom and SNK employees, it'll feel like good ole Capcom again. Although I'd rather a SF4 instead, but this will do until then.

Oh yeah, don't lose hope for SF4 yet, SF's 20th Anniv. is next year and Capcom said they'll definitely be a new game and a movie. So hope the game is SF4 and not a game based on the movie.

As for DS, It'll probably get an HD remake like SF2THD. Capcom said they'll be doing more HD remakes should the first be successful.

How the hell can the DS get an HD remake when it's native resolution is barely larger than the original Capcom fighters.

P.S. if it turns out not being a Sengoku Basara fighter, then it's probably this.

I actually never played SFIII on a console since it never came out for PS2 in Europe and I never owned a Dreamcast. But from the memories I have from the arcade version it was really awesome.

You do know that the CPS3 hardware that SFIII runs on has recently been emulated, and that all 3 SFIII games can now be played on the PC, right? Of course if your PC is as shitty as mine, then that hardly matters…

That said, there are rumors that the fighter may be based on Sengoku Basara (and developed by Arc Sys Works, the people behind Guilty Gear and The Fist of the North Star PS2 fighter). But the website says it's an original fighter so... probably not a sequel.

There's another manga, but it's a gag manga. It uses the characters from the original game (or maybe the anime) but I don't know in which magazine it's serialized or whether or not it's a 4 panel or something. The anime also (sorta) follows the game, but it throws in some fanservice of it's own (approved by Toriyama himself!) so all the purists that frequent this site probably won't care too much to check it out.

And in last week's chapter they said they were going to just go ahead and fight the evil lady who pours liquid all over her body.
