    • RE: Chapter 1,048: Twenty Years

      @Monquito:

      I originally thought he was going to show up, we've seen him a couple times, invading Teach and in the fb fighting Kaido, I also thought the whole narrative of The Death Coming for Orochi But as of right now, its just too late, and there really are no signs pointing to his presence. Its not only that he would have to cross thru the Charlottes/WG grand fleet, and enter the natural defenses of Wano, but ALSO, he would have to know where the battle is happening, which heck, not even the Wano-kunians know about it, and lets not even talk about how he would get up there

      Moria doesn't need to know the specific location, only the country. And he knows where the battle is taking place as of this moment, courtesy of Blackbeard who fed him the details. How's he going to get there, you ask? If he's coming along the Blackbeard pirates you can be damn sure he'll make it. The WG fleet and the Big Mom pirates won't even be a problem.

      Its just better to end the battle now, stretching it will only make things much less satisfying.

      Sorry, but that ain't how things work.

      Oda is the writer of this story. Oda's the one that decides when it ends. For almost a decade Oda had been talking about Wano, and how the aftermath of it would shake the very foundations of the world. If there's an arc he had plenty of time to plan out thoroughly is that one.

      This is the last time I've said this.

      I'm doing a quick reread of Thriller Bark, and this may sound presumptuous, but I think Oda had long foreshadowed how are they gonna ultimately defeat Kaido.

      And act 4 will have hoe may chapters until 5?

      Act 4 is comparatively shorter. Much, much shorter. Act 3 spans what, around 100 chapters so far.

      @All:

      Luffy said he's gonna punch Kaido all the way to the bottom of hell.
      Would be nice if he actually does send Kaido all the way underground, seemingly victorious, only for awakened Kaido to emerge out of Fujiyama.

      Took the words right outta my mouth.

      Luffy knocks Kaido down > False hope > The festival ends > Kaido backstory > Kaido awakens > Tragedy ensues > End of Act III with the worst case scenario.

      Here's some good advice for those who want the arc to end asap: take a break.

    • RE: Chapter 1,048: Twenty Years

      People have been saying how this arc has been going on longer than any other. And you think Oda doesn't know? Why do you think he structured the arc in acts, and in between each act he did give us a breather from the arc before going back to the main stage.

      And in true Kabuki fashion, third act is the longest, with most of it taking place in one location. But who said it will be over like this.

      –- Update From New Post Merge ---

      @Monquito:

      There would've been foreshadowing of his arrival already, and the two main entrances are occupied by the Charlottes in one side, Zunesha and the WG Fleet in the other.

      Oh, but there's. Last we saw of him he was making a ruckus in Blackbeard's turf. Oda can just end the third act and show us Moria heading to Wano before going back.

      Kaido won't go down until Moria shows up in Wano.

      Yes, this may sound like a joke to you, but is not. It's clear to me that Oda never intended for the most important of all arcs to end in the traditional way. I know something BIG will happen after Luffy's final attack seemingly K.Os Kaido.

      I like Electric types. Electricity means Speed, with some exceptions. Pure Electric types, while only strong against Water & Flying types, come with only one weakness, and in the case of the Tynamo line, no weakness. They are also quite versatile, having a wide range of varied moves to learn.

      One could say the mascot of the franchise was specifically chosen because of that.

      I plan to do my next PLA playthrough with certain rules: no purchasing any items that are craftable, no level grinding (natural progression), no alpha or legendary in my team, there can't be more than one of the same type or types, no using revives during battle…

      I suppose Gen 9 will also have item crafting since it will be full open world, so I'll also start with that same setting.

      Also, i don't remember the millets having any other property other than taming animals, so that's really its only ability. Millets are just the mean through which the effect is obtained.

      @Coookie:

      The Hana Hana no Mi and Nikyu Nikyu no Mi would like to have a word

      Hana (Flower): The name comes from granting the user the ability to bloom limbs like flowers.

      Niktu (Paw): Grants the ability to take and reject in the form of paws.

      Kibi (Millet): The user can make Millet from the body, and it also tames bea-, excuse me? That's two different abilities in one DF.

      I'm not saying the other option, the Uo Uo no Mi isn't valid. I still consider Kaido's DF the top candidate. But there's something about Tama's DF that strikes odd.

      @Chams:

      Kaidou's fruit, and Kaidou himself was also under the WG's custody many times. They experimented and tested him, and Vegapunk even tried making a copy of his fruit. Shouldn't that mean that the Fish Fish Model Dragon wouldn't be talked about. Or was it only the Awakening of that fruit that has been a legend for centuries?

      If it's the awakening, that would explain why they would want Luffy dead asap. They feared he might push Kaido past his limits, causing the DF to awaken.

      Thing is, the name of each fruit correlates with the kind of abilities it grants. A person can correctly guess the fruit's name through its powers.

      Yet Tama's DF name contradicts what it can do. The inhabitants of Wano don't even know DF are a thing, they call them "magical abilities". Even so, the name of Tama's DF Kibi Kibi no Mi is not what the name implies, and that's a first in the department of devil fruits.

      The Gomu Gomu no Mi was in custody of the World Government before Shanks stole it. Yet they were last seen talking about this legendary DF whose existence was unknown even to the elders themselves. Doesn't that mere fact invalidate any chance of it being Luffy's?

      And Zunesha was featured in the panel with the bubble speech talking about the DF. Isn't Uranus also related to elephants? Because that discussion is brought up after one of their agents stationed outside Wano informed Lucci of a huge shadow looming over them.

      To me these are hints that whichever is the true name of that legendary DF, it has got a connection with Zunesha. And Zunesha is an animal. And guess who in Wano can tame beasts using her DF abilities?

      That's right: Tama.
