I personally have never cared about animation style when it comes to OP. We can all agree it is not the best, but it's not the worst either.
Now, I love this arc and it's still currently my favorite, but here's my one complaint:
This arc borrows more ideas from DBZ than any other arc. This Rokushiki is a mixture of various DBZ elements and the whole power level thing was kinda pointless and also reminded me of DBZ.

How did fans actually react to 4kids getting One piece. Were they still hopeful that there would be some good voices and not a shitload of edits?
I just thought "Finally, One Piece is coming to America!" I didn't really think 4kids would do a bad job, and I happened to have liked 4kids at the time. After sitting through the dubbed Drum Kingdom, I finally discovered the original and gave up the dub.

Well, the first few episodes didn't really seem that bad. It's just that Nami acted like more of a bitch, and they made Sanji weak by having him get beaten easily by some guy in an old-timey Eva.
I found Goatsex to be mediocre, but far more tolerable than Rainbow Mist. At least both of them weren't nearly as awful as the Apis arc.

There's no One Piece next week, just so you know, as there is a day-long Pokemon marathon. Yes, even the untouchable Naruto is preempted next week. Anyway, my guess is that CN will just air the next seven episodes in the next seven weeks, ending Alabasta, and then on the eighth week, the last Saturday of July, they'll air the last six episodes of the dub in a marathon. CN has aired six-episode marathons of Naruto on Toonami countless times, so it's not farfetched.
They'd better! I'm tired of the wait. I want to see if FUNimation really is that good!

That's very funny. A lot of people do think they're responsible when in reality, it's only because the merchandise wasn't selling. Heck, the ratings for the dub were actually quite good. In reality, it had little to do with us.

I personally always believed this was the one thing 4kids did right. Face it, is it not disturbing to see this big serious-looking gorilla monster with a high-pitched voice?
I noticed that it happens more frequently to all vids now. Seriously, last month, videos lasted at least a month, and that gave them partial immunity on the site. Now, things are being taken down within the first 3 days. Any recent uploads are less safe than anything from last month and beyond that.
Sadly, I think I know why, and it's a tragic one. It's partly our fault. We keep trying to tell those damn users to grow up and accept something that they don't like on the site, we spread so many subliminal messages, and what does it do?
It pisses them off and practically forces them to take their anger out on us and make us suffer more by removing everything that user who tried to spread the message uploads no matter how good it is.
I stopped watching that show because it made me too hungry in the mornings. Tempt me not with fried rice, when all I have is cold bran.

100% agreed. I can no longer put my stuff on the site because retards had me banned twice because they thought I was trying to rip off Dub Piece. Okay, maybe the first one I did have a few that I forgot to credit them for. Sadly, there really isn't anything funnier than "Condom". Luckily, I did come up with a very original one that nobody has ever tried before:
Mario D. Luffy the Italian Plumber of the East Blue. I have no idea where I came up with that, but it seemed to be a success (I got about 5 comments saying that the viewers liked it) so I just decided to stick with it. Sadly, I still recieved spam like "Your voice is queer" and "You suck, asshole!" (That second one was actually for writing a positive comment for OP episode 175, an actual episode that deserved good comments from everyone)
Why not diss redmetalpirate for "Hashcake"? Geez, I could even credit Dub Piece for a joke I might have accidentally (And they often are. My stuff in unscripted) put in there and they still call me a thief. Well, actually it's more along the lines of "Magically change your voice in an illogical fashion so we can enjoy your videos!" now. I think people have stopped the whole "stolen jokes" rant now and have moved on to various things that can't be changed, like the horrible voice I was born with. I remember there was also a guy who put up a Jango's Dance Party fandub (It's still up today) and the first comment he got was "This is a Dub Piece ripoff", and you know what his reply was? He said that he'd never seen Dub Piece! The fact that Jango sounded like Michael Jackson had 100% to do with his appearance and nothing more. I mean, who wouldn't do "child molestation Jango"? Well, I had to change my original plan to make him Frank the Pitchfork from Conker's Bad Fur Day. His appearance kind of fits that voice for some reason. I can't explain it.
Geez, I'm wasting space, but dammit, I'm making a statement that it is not illegal to make your own parodies! Same goes for YGO Abridged. The second that came out, YGO Improv Dub lost its popularity even though it came first! Honestly, I assume some of these creators do feel like sh*t because their stuff is always being compared to others as horrible and they probably can't stand it! Hell, any Abridged Series that doesn't even so much as have a cameo of LK is considered illegal even though LK supports other people making their own parodies!
Besides, ever consider that it's FUN to dub One Piece because One Piece has lots to make fun of? Yeah, consider that! You know, I bet if somebody made a super-successful Azumanga Daio fandub, Azumanga Daio fandubs would be illegal from that point on. or something like that, it made me sick to my stomach. Who does than when begging for mercy? Honestly, even when 4kids does a good job, they take away drama. Whenever I watch a 4kids dub, I feel like I'm watching a third rate fandub rather than a legit dub because everything is different. (Although your point about Shaman King is very true. That dub was at least true to the plot to a good extent)

This reminds me of the old Dragonball (Not Z) movies, because they were basics redone versions of every arc, like how movies 2 and 3 completely ignore the show's timeline. This is a very interesting idea and I'd love to see how this whole storyline is cleared up in slightly more than an hour.

The guy who does Usopp/Yassop is also replacing Drummond as the VA in the Sonic the Hedgehog Video Games, and has already played Shadow the Hedgehog in a few of the newer games, and then gave the part back after getting Sonic.

You know, I'd understand if the English eps were being removed too, but no. 4kids is just having the Japanese episodes (Including the songs, which they didn't license, along with filler arcs) removed in order to force people to watch their version. Why else would the English dubs still be on the site if the Japanese ones are being removed?
Still, at least when one episode goes down, another comes up, so it's not the end of Japanese One Piece on the site. It just jeoparadizes lots of accounts. (I still think Toei should have some say in the matter if it was possible to contact them, even if they're not the original American owners. Why did their contact link stop working?)
Whatever, at least Water 7 seems to be safer than other arcs, and those are the ones most people come to see.
Oh, and let's not forget that they only remove subs! Even amvs are being removed for use of clips and songs that 4kids doesn't even own. Or maybe they can come to their senses and change the intro the second Robin joins the crew! Face it, there'll be way too many characters to fit in the with the intro after that, so they should just go back to their original plan and show their version of the We Are, which had more to do with the series anyway. Either they can do that or just write something that has to do with the plot and basis of the show.
Their major problem is that now, when they do a theme song, they always feel that they have to mention every character if they feel it necessary. Like, they just felt it their job to list random useless points about the characters and make it out to sound like a stupid show about retards who go around fighting and looting for no reason.

Personally, I don't give a crap about that kind of thing. I still think it's cool. It's different and maybe not as good, but it's still tolerable.
I hate that fact in the dub. He hardly ever improves in the dub. Naw, just because he uses a slingshot doesn't mean that he sucks. He's awesome with the slingshot. If he had a rifle, would his fights have explosions and entertainment value? No. His enemies would probably die in 2 seconds. I was only disappointed with Sogeking because all he did was fire a ball at a marine and cause a smokescreen. In fact, when it was his moment to shine, he accidentally locked handcuffs with Zoro and was useless throughout the entire fight. Besides, Usopp's one of the most lively characters in the show.
(Mind you, he did command 2 giants and at least 8000 marines for a while)

Yeah, okay, so I was dead wrong and I'm willing to accept that now. But there was a lot of misleading evidence. The first was an ad in Shonen Jump issue 6 saying that movie 4 was going to be dubbed. Who knows? Maybe 4kids cancelled the idea when they licensed OP. Also, I saw a section on www.movietome.com titled "One Piece: The Movie" and the summary sounded exactly like Dead End Adventure, and movietome is an American site, so I dunno if they were right about that or not. Also, I sent the subbed movie to my Email buddy in New Jersey and she wrote back saying "This is way better than the MOVIE we got here". You already know where New Jersey is located, right? Sorry if I sound like I'm trying to convince you otherwise. I'm really not. I'm just saying that these are some good reasons to believe what I did. Who knows? Maybe some other company planned on dubbing it but 4kids beat them to the legal rights thus the movies might never come to America.
Good for you! Yeah, it's easy. Only flaw is that Windows Movie Maker lags like hell and you have to wait at least 3 minutes for it to save one image that you've imported. (So don't save too often. It'll take forever if you do that) I mean, I have over 10 fandubs saved to my vids section and a bunch of other things I did with my voice. (Though more than half my dubs don't exist anymore. Why won't the site accept my Goemon dubs?)
I think a lot will be merged when Usopp and Chopper fight.
I regrettably went against my non-4kids code and did the unspeakable… watched for comparison's sake! I didn't see any merging, but it's not worth every second. I'm glad they kept Usopp's dramatic speech, but his voice and Ms. MC's rhyming ruined it.
