Kannazuki no Miko

Kannazuki no Miko is the story of Himeko and Chikane, the reincarnations of the Solar and Lunar Miko, respectively. They are two high school girls going to the prestigious Ototachibana Academy of Mahoroba, Japan. When an ancient evil rises once more, the girls are plunged into destiny as their long-sealed personas awaken to defend the world against the eight Orochi, who are the eight heads of Yamata no Orochi of Japanese folklore. When the Orochi awaken, it is the first day of October (called kannazuki, lit. "the godless month," in the traditional Japanese lunisolar calendar), which just happens to be Himeko and Chikane's birthday. The first Orochi who tries to kill the Miko is Sōma Ōgami, the boy in love with Himeko. However, after a blinding flash of light brings him to his senses, he rejects his fate and vows to defend Himeko against the other Orochi. The Miko must awaken Ame no Murakumo in order to combat the threat while Sōma repels the Orochi efforts to kill them.
The manga goes into more detail on the relationship between Himeko and Chikane, though it is not as focused on it as the anime is. In the end, Himeko chooses to be incarcerated forever in the shrine with Chikane. At the end it also shows that a number of years later two twin girls are born and are actually Himeko and Chikane.

Okay, I just got in some news about Frioniel's EX Burst. It turns out that it involves Frioniel using all 7 weapons against his opponent then using his bow to fire all of his other weapons at his opponent's face as a finishing move. Bartz has the ability to use the moves of the other heroes, making him somewhat of a Mime, a job that made its debut in Final Fantasy V. In one screenshot, he is seen using Onion Knight's Flare spell. He has also been shown using Squall's Gunblade, as well as Zidane's Mage Mashers and Cloud's Buster Sword, and can apparently dual-wield as well, as he uses both the Buster Sword and the Gunblade at once. Exactly how this ability will work is unknown. In his EX Mode, "Brave Blade", three yellow stars, a sign of Job Mastery in Final Fantasy V, appear above his head, and he also gains the red cape from the

Mime job class in said game. In his EX Burst, "Rapid Fire Dual-Wield Spell Blades", he combines all nine weapons of his allies into one for a powerful attack. @Hakuro- I get what you are saying… but as was mentioned by Daz and Shmeckie, the antagonist and protagonist of ffVII have more going on, than simply being "Emo"... I'm not saying they're personalities are great or completely redeemable, just not as pathetic as what "emo" means nowadays (to me it's a frivolous trend. These characters actually have decent reasons for their actions). Seph going insane over his birth and cloud having communication issues or being a flaky asshole doesn't count as Emo in my book. Angsty and Emo are not the same thing.

I Think the main problem with the Ps era FF Games (FFVII,FFVIII,&FFTatics,Not Including IX) Is that the heroes reflected the gen-x stereotypes that were all to common in popular media at the time.

Now we can look back in 2008 & dislike characters but at the time come on we all loved that kinda style
& to me at least thats why FFIX didnt do well with consumers at the time

WARNING: Anti-FFVII Rant follows. Please do not read unless you either also do not like FFVII, do not care about FFVII, or you can respect someone's opinions. Note that I do not bash the fans in the following rant, so rest assured!

! I will admit that FFVII was decent, but here's the deal. Take away it's advances in graphical and musical quality for just a second, the storyline just wasn't that great in comparison. Most of FFVII's hype started out with it's enhancement in graphics and music over the past Final Fantasies. That hype was further proceeded by a villain they supposedly thought whose personality and appearance was 'unique'. That was an illusion. His personality was pretty much a rehash of Kefka, just adding in emo tendencies and mommy issues. His appearance was a rehash of Setzer, just with less flash and more black to them. Everyone thought his 'One Winged Angel' form was badass and also unique. Kefka's god form did it first and did it better, sorry to say.
! The Storyline of FFVII, as I have said, isn't all that great. You start out as a former soldier for an electric company (In FFVI, you were a former soldier of an Empire) who seeks to stop said electric company from seizing control of a power source (Empire taking control of Espers from FFVI…? anyone?) Along the road, the main character has a flashback to a person who had a very high rank in the electric company's military (Terra had a flashback which had Kefka in it about as early on... yeah...) Throughout the story, they gain a colorful cast of characters including an airship pilot with a very large ego (Setzer...?), another fellow traitor from the same electric company (Celes...?), a ninja (Shadow...?), a talking animal from the mountains (That qualifies as either Mog OR Umaro), a person whose past is shrouded in mystery (Gogo or Shadow, take your pick). Along the way, they find that the president of said electric company has been struck down by said antagonist (Emperor Gestahl was killed by Kefka)...
! I need not go on. But can you see my point, with the exception of a few specifics, a number of changes to the cast to make them seem more unique, the entire story of FFVII is so much like FFVI, it's not even funny. There are only two differences that make FFVI better. First, Kefka actually attained godhood. Second, FFVI's storyline was written first. Also, the writing quality of Advent Children seemed more fanservicey than anything I could really say was good. Do you guys want more Final Fantasy VII? Sure, we can do that! Want more Angsty Cloud scenes? Fantastic! We got just the thing for you! Want Aeris/Zack/Sephiroth to make an appearance in the movie? We can do that! We can even throw in a Cloud vs. Sephiroth scene for you just for kicks!

Now you can keep a hold of your liking for Final Fantasy VII in any form that you've played it in, be it Playstation 1, PC, even one of the many spinoffs on DVD, PS2, and/or PSP… I won't hold such things against you personally because I don't enjoy doing so. However, I think I'll hold onto my Final Fantasy VI and I believe I adequately explained why above, thank you.
