I just heard about Cole Brown's passing. He was great as Blackbeard, especially just seeing his work recently in Marineford, and I really liked him as Saul too. He was on one of the recent commentaries too I believe; he talked about how he was really getting into the story of One Piece and had started following it. I was really excited to see what he was going to do in the role post-timeskip. Also read that he was a firefighter and paramedic. He was younger than I thought he was. Condolences to his family and those who knew him. R.I.P Cole…

RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
Well, I missed so many movie days. Look like I miss out on some good movies. Well here's to hoping I get to make so of the upcoming viewings.
Anyway, I voted Alien/Aliens, Kill Bill Vol.1 & Vol.2, and Pan's Labyrinth. If you haven't seen these vote for them.
Alien/Aliens: Ridley Scott and James Cameron do an amazing job. Both the best movies of the franchise.
Kill Bill Vol.1 & Vol.2: My favorite Tarantino movie(s. It had to be split into two) It has great action and arguably one of the best female heroines of all time. I've always felt Uma Thurman as The Bride is a lot like Nico Robin and vise-versa.
Pan's Labyrinth: It's one of Guillermo del Toro's best movies. The imagery he creates in this movie ranges from inspiring wonder to scaring the pants off of you. Even if you're subtitle-averse, this movie is worth watching.

RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
I envy all of you who have gotten to watch S7V1 online early. I luckily haven't had issues with my Rightstuf order and it should be here by Monday according to tracking.
I got a chance to check out the clips of some of the new voices. I think all the Supernova voices are very solid. I like Hawkins, Apoo, Urouge, Kid, Capone, and Law. I thought Shakky sounded a little to close to Robin for me. Of course I only got the chance to see one 5 minute clip, so I can't wait to watch more on Monday.

RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
I'll nominate John Carpenter Month again. He has a good handful of movies great for a whole month.
Some should do an Arnold month. So many fun one liners!
-
RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
Damn, I totally forgot to vote this week! But I'm glad some good choices won.
-
RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
I'd like to nominate Hulk Vs to add a little Marvel flavor to animation month.

RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs

RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
I dislike all three of those people . Especially Will Ferrell.
Then this movie is definitely not for you, especially since the main focus is on all three of their characters. No worries though, I get where you're coming from. A few of their other movies have been underwhelming for me.
Took me a minute to realize who Qwen Wilson was.
Fixed. I totally missed that I did that. That's what happens when you type late at night, I guess.

RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
Lots of good choices this week. For those unfamiliar with it, Zoolander is also a solid choice. It a movie with some of Ben Stiller's, Owen Wilson's, and Will Ferrell's best performances.
Go Zoolander!

RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
Hey, so some Shield news. Adrianne Palicki is now a series regular so that means we're getting more Mockingbird.
http://www.thewrap.com/adrianne-palicki-upped-to-series-regular-on-agents-of-shield/
Also Edward James Olmos is joining Shield too. Maybe as a villain? Ya Adama!

The March mid-season premiere should be fun. -

Here's a quick plug for the Jerk:
Go out there and be somebody!
-
RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
Well, the movie runtime today is 110 minutes. This one's gonna be a fun one. Just like the last two weeks of course.
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
I think they might announce the other supernovas too. They've probably been negotiating for up to the time skip. I see them doing it like many of you. Sabaody to Impel Down for Season 7 and then The Marineford arc to just before the time skip for Season 8.

RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
For those of you who have still not voted yet, may I suggest you include Weekend at Bernie's in your vote. You may be asking yourself, "Why vote Weekend at Bernie's?" The question you should be asking yourself is, "Why not?"
But don't just take my word for it, let's see what audiences think!
Give a vote for Weekend at Bernie's! -
RE: Water 7 Arc- Toonami Talkback
I'm glad One Piece did well given the time shift. I'm interested to see what kind of ratings pattern we'll get the next few weeks.

RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
Very exciting news that Sony and Marvel are collaborating on Spidey. This was inevitably going to happen sooner or later given Sony's recent trajectory as a studio and with how they've handled Spidey as of late. We have the leak of the original negotiations to thank for this, because fans' response to that leak is what probably brought both sides back to the table.
I'm just glad to see Marvel and Sony work together and respecting each other to reach a common goal where both sides can win. (take note Fox)
Apparently, Sony is still moving forward with their spinoffs without Marvel and Kevin Feige. I don't get why they want to do those so soon. I hope Sony will at least wait and see where the new Spider-man ends up plot-wise before pursuing those.

RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
Despite being behind in the poll, I'm still going to campaign for my nomination:
Vote Weekend at Bernie's!
-
RE: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)
Well, I pre-ordered my copy of Season 4 from Best buy. I went with the house Martell special packaging. They also have house Tyrell this year too. If Best Buy somehow screws up my pre-order, I'm gonna flip out.
-
RE: NBC's The Blacklist// Spinoff: Redemption
I enjoy the show too. I'm glad to see there's final a thread for it. I've also been watching from the beginning as well.
James Spader is obviously the bast part of the show, but I think the other actors do a decent job too. It's more entertaining than a lot of the other NBC dramas, at least that's my opinion.
Ron Perlman was a great guess star for the past 2 episodes.
-
RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
These words together in that particular order. They make no sense to me.
That's usually true. He's not great at writing comic arcs, especially the ultimates universe, but he has done a good job producing on the Marvel TV side of things. So I was just giving credit where credit is due.
-
RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
The Chris's are class acts. That was the most awesome Super Bowl bet ever.
On another note, Daredevil looks great! I have got to get Netflx. Jeph Loeb was right, it does look like they're going darker than what you've seen on network TV Marvel shows. Can't wait to check it out.

RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
In an effort to campaign for Weekend at Bernie's, I've changed my avatar which I have not done since I joined AP in '08. So I mean serious business.
Vote Weekend at Bernie's!

RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
I'd like to nominate one of Steve Martin's best films for Week 4: The Jerk
-
RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
Hey don't forget Blazing Saddles for Gene Wilder month.
-
RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
I'd like to nominate Weekend at Bernie's for week 3.
The streams working great so far for me.
-
RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
The Zardoz trailer was a bit too trippy for me though. I don't want to rock any boats the first week, but come on how could you not enjoy this.
!
Rin brings up a good point.
Don't hold it against me, but I'm gotta vote for Gremlins.
-
RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
You'll be able to nominate for week 3 on Saturday though.
All right. That sounds good.
A lot of good choices this week, I'm stuck in a 3-way tie with who I'm going to vote for. It's between Brazil, Street Fighter, and Gemlins.
-
RE: Arlong Park Movie Nights
Movie Nights sound like an awesome idea. I'm definitely on board. I don't know if I can make it every week, but I'll join in when I can.
Is it too late to make a nomination for week 2?
-
RE: Water 7 Arc- Toonami Talkback
All I try to do is to tune in each week to One Piece and a few other shows on the block. I pretty much assume any other factors like scheduling and fluctuating ratings are out of our hands anyway, so the best we can do is just support One Piece and watch instead of worrying about the block changes all the time.
For fun, I try to follow twitter's reaction each week to see their reaction to each episode and One Piece in general. It's always mostly positive, something from the episode usually trends, and One Piece seems to be the highlight of a lot of people's Saturday night Toonami watching. I think we can look to that as some indication of the positive exposure the show is getting on TV, at least that's my opinion on the matter.
-
RE: Marvel TV Series Thread: The Inhuman Cosplayers
I really enjoyed the premiere of Agent Carter. Peggy and Jarvis work better together then I would have originally thought. In the preview for what's coming up in future episodes, it looks we'll be seeing more of the Howling Commandos which will be exciting too.

RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
My Voyage 3 should be here tomorrow. I'm still undecided whether or not I'll get the box set. Some of the extras look neat though.
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
My S6V2 is on the way too. And I'm about to check to see if my Voyage 1 is in the mailbox.
-
RE: Water 7 Arc- Toonami Talkback
Now… I wonder if they'll show the shorts. I believe these are the episodes where they scrapped the endings, so it'll be interesting to see what Toonami does.
They would be crazy to not do the shorts. Those are the best part of the flashback episodes.
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
My copy of S6V1 is on the way! Hopefully they send out Voyage 2 soon too.
-
RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
Today was one of the best Tuesdays of my life. So much good news! I can't wait to see the glory of Phase 3. I think the ordering they came up with is the right move.
-
RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
My eyes and ears can't stop watching this trailer. I'm so pumped right now I can't even sleep. It looks so beautiful. I knew James Spader would be perfect when they cast him. I knew the trailer would be great, but this has exceeded my expectations above and beyond!

RE: Filler Match! Best One Piece TORSO
…………………The fridge is just genius. That's all.
-
RE: Toonami on Adult Swim
I'm curious to know if Kai will take the 12:00 spot or be positioned a little later in the line up? I'd like to see One Piece move up a bit more and Kai air right after it, personally.

RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
I saw my copy of the movie earlier today. I really loved the job that Funi did. I also wish Kizaru had more of his speech quirks in his dialogue, but they'll fix it for the series. Kizaru's and Zed's Vas were great, and it was nice to hear more of Brook and Akainu.
All the Straw Hats were excellent as usual.
! With the age change, Luci and Brina did great but I really like how Stephanie did the slight adjustment for 18 yr old Robin.
I thought one of the best performances for a secondary character in the movie was Jason Douglas's Aokiji. I can't wait to hear more from him in the series.Liked the embossing on the packaging. Wished there was more of an effort on have commentary for the special features too.
All in all, really enjoyed Film Z.
Off Topic Easter Egg:
! Did anyone else notice that the sea train light signal had Los Angeles, CA written on it? That stood out to me for some reason.
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
My Film Z from Rightstuf says it's reserved for my order. Just waiting for the shipping now.
-
RE: Marvel TV Series Thread: The Inhuman Cosplayers
I really enjoyed the premiere too. I agree with what everyone has said so far, and I liked the parts with Talbot too. "What is this, your honeycomb kill room?!"
Also the line about the snorkel was great too.
! I hope they use Lucy Lawless more too. She has too much talent to be one-offed liked that. I'd like to see a fun twist with her.
-
RE: Kuzan vs. Robin
I like both characters so much. I'm ok with either winning, and Kuzan is behind right now, so I'll go with him. Robin will still do good though.
Plus, Kuzan would totally watch the entire Simpsons marathon.
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
Well, I'm finally up to date on all my pre-orders. I'm really liking the new Voyage covers as well.
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
I'm curious to see how the box sets will evolve from now until release. I could go for it if it's really top notch. Your move Funi.
-
RE: Usopp vs. Zeff
Going with Chef Zeff. He needs the votes. Usopp is great too though, and he'll probably win.
-
RE: Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs
I picked up the Deluxe version of the Guardians of The Galaxy soundtrack. I would definitely recommend it. It comes with Awesome Mix Vol. 1 and the original score as well.

RE: Robin Williams
This is another one of my favorite Robin moments. Also very relevant for those who are feeling depressed and alone. I wish Robin had reminded himself of this.
