Monet IS a logia, although her heart can't turn into snow in that box, as we saw with Smoker…

Coby, The marine super rookie.
I think every shichibukai turned into one to plan something, nobody did it to be famous.
Im still waiting for Mihawk's and Kuma's reason.
We also dont know if a shichibukai is forbidden to look for one pieceWe already know why Kuma did, it was so he could get in good with the WG for the Revolutionaries.

RE: What do you think of the way women are portrayed in OP?
I think in a lot of ways the amount of skin shown (which is steadily increasing throughout the series), is a detractor to One Piece. Just look at the beginning of the series (Buggy and AP arcs), and tell me that Nami's design is better now than it was then…I think most people would prefer the "old" Nami from way back. Elfin Lied is an anime series where this was a problem, it is an excellent series with a great story and really pulls at your heartstrings at times, but because there is so much nudity, it is hard to take it seriously.

RE: Chapter 657: A severed Head
Laboon looks really happy in that shot and the hair kind of matches Captain Yorki from the Rumbar Pirates. Remember we never had any proof that he died.

RE: 536: ''Decisive Battle at Ryuuguu Palace! Zoro vs. Hody''
The water pressure underwater at Fishman Island is not the same as the water pressure outside Fishman Island. The water inside the bubble is like normal surface water, it is only outside the bubble that it is crushing. We've seen that with Nami + other Strawhats just using bubble heads instead of full body bubbles.

RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
Sciene would allow using the corpse for study - medicine, human anatomy, ect., those are fine and allow to help humanity.
But animation? To make a mindless soldier?
That is still a very big taboo in the 21st century. Even someone of little to no religion,- agnositcs and athiests- will not promote using corpses to make a mindsless solider.I'm not convinced they Vegapunk is actually using corpses. Think about it, Kuma himself is not a corpse, and modifying other people's corpses to look like Kuma would seem to be unnecessary (in fact, a variety of forms would be more useful). I think it is more likely that Vegapunk has some way to actually clone (make copies) of the original Kuma, and uses these copies to improve the design.

RE: Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
Apparently he was called the Tyrant because of how cruel he was…his personality must have been changed a lot since he started being a part of the Pacifista project.

RE: Chapter 647: "Stop Noah"
Full Metal Alchemist, Nausicaa, and Monster both have loads more character development than One Piece and tug on your heartstrings a lot more IMO. However, not all of those mangas can beat One Piece for fight scenes and none of them were weekly format either. Full Metal Alchemist in particular really benefitted from only being a monthly release.

RE: Dumb Predictions
Chopper spends a lot of his time experimenting on himself to make himself look "cuter", this is why he gradually changes in appearance to look more and more "cutesy", it's all part of his diabolical plan to mutiny by making the rest of the crew slaves to his cuteness (Luffy is immune due to being so adorable in his own right).
The first part of this isn't actually a dumb prediction. It has been shown now that Chopper can gradually change how his forms look either through experimentation or training…his forms were all somewhat cutesy before (with brain point or whatever his small form is being cuter all the time it seemed). Now his forms are very athletic and less human-looking.

RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
I would think not, because to be technical, although his fruit is referenced as a "darkness" element, it is more of the traits of "gravity." If he becomes gravity, attacks are pulled in to him. Other logias don't absorb attacks, they "dodge" them by using their intangible state to not get hit. Blackbeard can turn into "gravity" but when he does that he still gets hit anyways because instead of dodging attacks he attracts attacks. So really, the only good thing about his fruit is the ability to negate Devil Fruits. Otherwise, it is pretty lame imo (except maybe the move where he sucks everything up).
-
RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
Blackbeard still BECOMES gravity. He just can't dodge attacks like other Logias because gravity pulls everything into itself, it is a side-effect of his element type.

RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
Where was this stated?
From what I've seen Buggy's body gets sliced and is then split. What makes you think this? It has been shown pretty much every time Buggy has appeared that he can split his body at will. He doesn't need to get sliced to split, he does it all the time for convenience.

RE: Chapter 622: "The Pirate of Sun" Discussion
I feel with this chapter that Kizaru actually has some sort of connection to the Tenryuubito. Maybe the only reason why "a Marine Admiral" shows up is because Kizaru is one, and he would have shown up whatever rank he was.
Also, Strawberry in standard marine cap was hilarious. Now we finally know what is under his hat.

RE: Dumb Predictions
Sauza, I gotta admit all the pieces fit together there. I'll be watching for characters with hats from now on!

RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
I actually like the nano-theory of Devil Fruits, but there is a huge problem with it - if Devil Fruits are caused by technology (which can be replicated), why is there only ever one of each fruit? Wouldn't it make sense if the government knows how to make them for them to replicate the really awesome fruits (such as Kuma's) and give them to all their top officers? What if all the Navy Captains and above had fruits as good as Kuma or even just as good as Kizaru? Pirates would be in deep shit.

RE: Most Despicable Villain(s) so far…
He just likes being a bully. If you don't like it, just put him on your ignore list.
-
RE: Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
Also, he was the bearer of pretty much the most terrifying devil fruit power in the One Piece world…he could not only attack your island but sink it completely.
-
RE: Chapter 618: "Proposal" Discussion
I hope not that would make the timeskip seem like quite a fail if they needed to double team a guy already
Not to mention I doubt Zoro would accept help in a swordsman's duel anyways.
-
RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
This would lead me to believe otherwise
http://www.mangareader.net/one-piece/605/12
my thoughts are that sanji can now use Geppo and Rankyaku due to the fact both need extreme leg strength to work, and Geppo is hinted at in that page
Not to mention on that page he also charges diable jambe while underwater, meaning he can't spin on the ground like he normally does it…unknown how he is doing it?!?
-
RE: Things That You Would Like to See in the Manga
Didn't Keimi already answer that the first time they met her? Sanji flipped out and pretended like he didn't hear…

RE: Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
Yet Japanese people also love American comic books. I would also note the quality of art in the mainstream American comic books (beautiful inking and lush colors) doesn't lend itself to scanning very well. Making a black and white manga turn out right when scanned is much easier and less time consuming.

RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
I thought it was the big monster shown in the mist at the end of the TB arc.
-
RE: Most Despicable Villain(s) so far…
Wolfwood has got the right idea on the possible fatalities. It would be much better for the Marines in the long run to eliminate all the pirates now than to wait for them to attack more Marines later when those Marines won't have such an advantage.
However, you'd never see a real world military act like the Marines did at Marineford. Their main base was destroyed and they had taken massive casualties, both in dead and injured. With the enemy in retreat and your main mission objective (kill Ace and Whitebeard) completed, a real world military force would fortify their position and tend to their wounded.

RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
In fact Majora's Mask was voted one of the best games of 2000-2010, but it hardly invented the idea of a moon falling.
-
RE: Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
Speaking of Oda's art, does anyone else PREFER the art from the beginning of the series? I kind of liked the most young feeling of the people at least. Obviously for backgrounds there is no comparison, but for the people I think it was better at the beginning.

RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
We've seen Mr. 2 protecting plenty of people with his wax. It isn't perfect, but it has been effective in all but one case.
-
RE: Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
Nope. The real Perona has never been seen flying like that. Also I've argued before that Shiki's doesn't count because technically is isn't "flight", more like levitation. I believe Pell was only talking about fruits that allowed for "flight" the way a bird "flys"…otherwise pretty much all the Logias we've seen so far would count, which they clearly don't.

RE: General Blackbeard Thread
I would peg either Van Auger or Laffite as being the second in command. Although when Shanks' crew sent a message to Whitebeard, they did it with a low man on the totem pole, not with the second in command. But perhaps they had to send Laffite to the WG since he is obviously good at sneaking in places.

RE: Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
The "border control" on the East Blue side is Loguetown. I assume that all the blues have such a place, near Reverse Mountain, where pirates can be picked off as they stock up to enter the Grand line. Also, you have to worry about the big pirate ships that can go through the Calm Belt.
-
RE: Dumb Predictions
Fishmen's Island is the Poseidon ship (similar to the Pluton) - and Robin is about to find this out after she read about where to find the Poseidon in Skypiea…
So Luffy needs to destroy the Poseidon in order to prevent it to be taken by either Caribou, Jones, Vander Decken or anyone else...
That's actually a pretty good theory and could be possible. I don't think it is dumb at all.

RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
Wouldn't making the Princess huge actually help because it would make it harder for people to steal her?
-
RE: Chapter 611:"Hodi Jones" Discussion
Enel´s a human. He won´t make the fishman believe he´s a god.
It was a metaphor comparing these characters to the ones in the Skypeia arc, read the rest of the post…

RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
There is at least one good reason Law could show up: The Strawhats no longer have a bubble on their ship and Law has a submarine…

RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
They've already said in the manga that Vegapunk was the one who figured out how to put Devil Fruit energy into items. Once he figured out the technology there is nothing to stop the government from using it any time they want, whether Vegapunk is actually there or not. There is no reason Mr. 4 or Spandam have to have any personal connection to Vegapunk.
-
RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
@Sniper:
That's a good theory, I agree with it.
So it's like…A buncha bananas are on...a tree...and then the "devil giraffe energy" goes into them and the become a Devil Fruit!By that theory, is it possible that the Elephant sword or the Dog Gun was just a regular sword/gun and then the "Dog/Elephant Devil Energies" goes into them...?
So what I mean is...What if these "devil energies" can go into ANYTHING...? Then this would be cancelled out by the fact that we've only seen TWO inanimate objects have devil fruit powers...
Perhaps this is how Vegapunk gets the energy into objects. Maybe the government kills the person with the fruit and somehow forces the energy into an object instead of a new fruit. That would make the creation of Devil Fruit-empowered objects pretty sinister.

RE: Colours prediction thread ver.2 (sp)
:) Thanks. Cannibalism at its best. XD
Ooops. Oda was asked in an SBS about Hachi running a takoyaki stand (weird because he is an octopus fishman). Oda replied that the takoyaki at the stand is actually made with squid, not octopus. Perhaps the same is true here?

RE: Do Buggy and Shanks know about Raftel and One Piece?
We know One piece is something important to roger.
I believe One piece is the Straw hat! In a recent flashback we saw Roger was wearing a straw hat, maybe after the crew broke up Shanks went and got the hat and later passed One piece on to luffy.I will explain why this is impossible…Shanks was already wearing the Straw Hat while he was on Roger's crew. Roger had by that point switched to a more traditional pirate's hat. This can be seen in the flashbacks with Shanks and Buggy.

RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
No way. It's been seen directly in the manga that just one bite is enough (Kalifa and Kaku did not eat all of their fruits, they were too grossed out).
The rest of the fruit that is left just becomes a disgusting tasting fruit once that first bite gives the powers to the eater.
-
RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
I choose to believe that Ace became solid on purpose to save Luffy rather than that Akainu was hotter. That is just a stupid idea, even if it is what Oda wrote.
-
RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
What about Ace's flame lances? They went right through him, but no holes when they went away?
-
RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
There is a shot of Magellan with his legs melted away into poison, but I've been shouted down as that was just artistic license and not signs of Magellan being a Logia.
-
RE: What do you think of the way women are portrayed in OP?
Keep in mind that Oda has also admitted he is very bad at drawing women (pretty early on in the series he admitted this).

Oh most fearsome of fishmen. Definitely villain material. There is already a bubble-eye fishman, one of the slavers that captured Hatchi is one of them.

RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
Also the fragility of the actual element doesn't matter. Ice is quite fragile and can be destroyed by normal blows (we've seen this before with Aokiji). That doesn't mean it actually hurts him though.
-
RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
What I mean is that if you cut off a Logia's arm while they weren't in their elemental form, they couldn't grow that arm back…Logias like Croc only appear to do so because their reflexes are fast enough to react to damage instantly and change to elemental form.
-
RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
I agree that Joz is probably a Paramecia, just saying it was never confirmed.
And I don't believe an injured Logia could just regrow the body part. Otherwise Marco's regenerative power wouldn't be that great, if every Logia could do it.
-
RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
This is probably a bit nitpicky, but I don't believe Jozu has been confirmed as a Paramecia. It is still possible he was a Logia and just doesn't keep himself transformed into Diamond mode all the time.
-
RE: Chapter 604: "Into the Depths" Discussion
Chopperman is not by Oda, all the comics in Saikyo Jump are knockoffs of Shonen Jump mangas by different artists.

RE: General Devil Fruit Discussion
But Kumadori also used Life Return to make his hair come alive and do things that hair doesn't normally do…a good Life Return user could possibly do extra things with a Zoan fruit when thought about this way.
