    • RE: Chapter 652: "Grim Prospects Ahead" -Discussion

      @kevo_koma:

I am a little bit confused with the G-5 marines, as it was stated they have no order and presumably no discipline, they are more or less like Pirates heck they even look like them(I think they are the first marines we have ever seen acting this way), So why are they still functioning if Akainu is the Fleet admiral, I don't think he is the type that can condone such behavior from his men and especially leaving them in a Marine base, I don't know they don't seem to fit into what I pictured the Marines to be when we heard Akainu was fleet Admiral.

First, it takes time for a new leader to put his "stamp" on an entire army. Regardless of that, you are always going to have people that will not follow orders irregardless of who is in charge.

      @kevo_koma:

There are also some confusing things about Jinbei. Basically, unless I am wrong, he kind of "gave" FI to big Mum, and I don't get why, Fishman Island was whitebeards territory and unless they were disbanded the Whitebeard pirates should be defending his territories, but Jinbei kind of ignored this and asked Big Mum for help?? I don't know something just doesn't add up, and why did Blackbeard allow Big Mum to take such a valuable and strategic territory, since he has apparently conquered most of the others, why did he leave FI alone long enough for Jinbei to make his deal with Big Mum?
Isn't jinbei leaving with the straw hats and inevitably going up against Big mum kind of make him become an oath breaker? because I am assuming the candy thing was part of the agreement that Jinbei obviously consented to, so him claiming to be going against Big Mum to me seems kind of out of character.

Pure speculation, but I don't think the Whitebeard Pirates are strong enough to proclaim that entire areas in the New World are under their protection. Jinbe did what was best for Fishman Island. Big Mum is an extremely powerful pirate and a great candidate to carry on Whitebeard's role as protector of the island and therefore keep relative peace.

There isn't any important reasons why Blackbeard would care about Fishman Island.

So based on what I have read in Mangastream regarding Akainu and Aokiji, it makes me wonder who exactly makes the decisions in the World Government.

So you have the retiring Fleet Admiral recommending Aokiji and you have some in the "upper" echelons of the Government pushing Akainu.

Kind of wondering where Kong and the Celestial Dragons fit into this picture with regards to decision making as oppose to two Admirals fighting it out to settle things.

BTW, when does the Aokiji for new crew mate start 😁?

      @Baou:

Im surprised that the government would allow Aojiki to roam free, especially with that power,I would think theyed lock him in Impel Down.

I guess I kind of am as well. After all, they wouldn't allow Sengoku or Garp to outright quit the Marines.

More importantly, the guy surely has a lot of knowledge about the inner workings of the government and some tightly held secrets.

But as already stated, it isn't like he is a criminal.

      Sweet chapter, lots of information.

Kind of sucks that Aokiji is not in the Marines anymore but I have to admit, it would have been odd to see Akainu reporting to him. It would interesting if Aokiji decided to turn pirate.

So the stage is being set for the Straw Hats to save the world from two extremes, the Blackbeard Pirates and this new Marine Corp styled after the extreme Akainu.

      Good chapter as always.

      Interesting chapter.

if Hodi Jones is the "Boss" of Fishman Island, then I think Fishman Island is going to be a disappointment.

If this is the case, I am hoping there will be other big revelations such as Fishman Island having a Poneglyph, a Big Mam introduction and learning more about the Celestial Dragons.

      @Therrester:

So, from what I got from this chapter, after the war, Jinbe returned to Fishman Island but, since he lost his Warlord status, the discrimination was too much and he went into exile with the original members of the Fishman Pirate. This probably lead to the creation of the New Fishman Pirate. Brilliant.

I didn't come to the same conclusion about Jinbe.

Keimi seems to indicate that since Jinbe lost his Warlord Status that he and and everyone associated with him had to leave Fishman Island. The pressure most likely came from the World Government ala the Marines.

In general, I think Jinbe's message is going to denote another meetup spot in the New World.

Also, I would not be surprised if Jinbe has joined forces with the Whitebeard Pirates.

The only problem I have with the Arc at this stage is that it is not Chaotic in Fishman Island.

Based on the way Jinbei talked, without Whitebeard's influence, FI would be in total chaos, which is kind of the opposite of what is going on right now.

At least in the part we have seen.

I think it is painfully obvious that the new boss isn't Squardo or Arlong.

The key is how the New Fishman Pirates first interacted with the Straw Hats.

If the Boss is Squardo, then there is no way his subordinates would attack an ally of the now deceased Whitebeard and someone who fought against the Marines at Marineford.

If the Boss is Arlong, then the New Fishman Pirates would have attacked the Straw Hats, instead of stating that they don't know if they were friend or foe to the Fishmen and they definitely would not ask them to join.

      @romolis:

actually i don't think that is arlong his brother maybe but i have heard no mention of a brother besides arlong was captured by the marines. Also im betting that it is some subordinate of jinbe or fisher tiger that stayed in fishman island, waiting for luffy

Its highly doubtful that he is a subordinate of Jinbei, given the fact that his subordinates in turn attacked the Starw Hats.

What's troubling is that Luffy is not automatically deemed a friend due to his relationship with Jinbei and he faught on the side of Whitebeard.

Jinbei either has no influence among the Fishmen or hasn't returned to Fishman Island.

It is very clear that this mysterious figure isn't Arlong. When the NFP speak about him, they clearly speak in a way that suggests that Arlong and the Boss are two different people.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if this guy isn't the main Boss of the Fishman Arc and actually becomes an ally.

I think he will be a mini-boss or an ally.

Besides, if The Boss was Arlong, I doubt the New Fishman Pirates would even give the Straw Hats the opportunity to join their crew.

Again, most Pirates, in the Grand Line and the New World are "weak" when up against an Admiral or Yonkou.

Blackbeard's crew is full of the most notorious pirates in the world and they all wet their pants and ran away upon hearing Akainu was in the area.

Besides, even after the time skip and power up, if Kizaru would have been summoned to SA when the Straw Hats appeared the second time, the same exact thing would have happened.

The Time Skip was all about getting Luffy familiarized with the basics of Haki.

Before the time skip, the Straw Hats were on par with the other Supernovas who have done just fine in the New World.

Do you honestly believe that he still wouldn't be outclassed by all those top fighters even after the time skip?

Was anybody else expecting Fishman Island to be a little bit more chaotic then this? I know it is early in the Arc but throughout the series, Oda made it a point to let us know just how big a deal is was for Shirohige to declare Fishman Island his territory.

Keimi mentioned a section of the island called "The Fishman District" and said it was kind of scary, so maybe things are more chaotic there.

      @Vongola_Boss_XI:

The manga would suck if every villain was just fodder from this point forward. Luffy trained for 2 years to just be able to SURVIVE in the New World. He's still too weak for Shanks, Kaidou, Big Mom, Akainu, Aokiji, Kizaru etc. Luffy's at "rookie Pirate in the New World level".

      I disagree with this.

Luffy trained with Rayleigh because he needed to start gaining a basic understanding of Haki and to develop a decent foundation to build upon.

Similar to the Grand Line, the Straw Hats were more then strong enough to enter the New World before the time skip.

Also, I would posit that most of the pirates in the New World are "too weak" for Admiral and Yonkou Level fighters.

Very good chapter, finally we are heading to Fishman Island and the entire crew is back together again.

I was hoping Rayleigh didn't sacrifice himself so that The Strawhats could escape and it doesn't appear that he did. The guy is just too old to go to prison 😁.

So, will the individual stories about how each person spent their time the last two years be hashed over during the trip to Fishman Island or will it be periodically be mentioned throughout the Fishman Island Arc?

Now all the "Perona is the next Nakama" talk can finally die forever.

The only negative about finally going to Fishman Island is that we will start to see all the annoying and repetitive posts about how it is a big disappointment. My guess is that we will see these types of posts after the first chapter on the Island.

So now I want to see if getting to Fishman Island is very easy once you have a coated ship or will there be other challenges, similar to Reverse Mountain when entering the Grand Line.

      @Hinscher:

I don't expect us to fight anyone.

Chopper's naiveness managed to make the WG thing the fakes were INDEED REAL.

So now we have all the WG people going to grove 46 to take out the strawhats and all these allies they have. The real strawhats are unknown to them right now. Chopper trying to find Robin will use his NOSE, like he did in enies lobby. Now using his nose instead of being fooled by his eyes he will accidently find the REAL Robin. Thus all 9 of the strawhats will be at the thousand sunny and head off peacefully to Fishman Island, while the fake strawhats get taken by the WG.

The WG eitehr thinks they have SH or else they realize by now they were fake and are like "damn i guess they are dead" But then our outrageous actions at fishman island are known when we leave there and we are world famous again.

Encountering the WG now causes toooooo many complications. First we have to not only beat them here on shabondy, but they KNOW that we are then heading and will be at fishman island. So we will have to deal with them there and when we leave there. The WG will send forces and strong guys to fishman island, and they will have guys waiting on other side of Red Line for us. THus it turns into just running from WG mainly and we miss out on a good fishman island arc

      I disagree.

I believe a Luffy/Sentoumaru showdown on SA is imminent.

Loved the chapter, especially Zoro cutting the pirate ship in half with his sword.

It's fitting that cutting a ship in half with his sword is the first thing Zoro would do after being trained by Mihawk, since this is what Mihawk did when he first met Zoro.

Until otherwise confirmed, I still believe Zoro has use of his left eye. I think there may be some other reason that he keeps it closed.

We finally get to see who Luffy gets to display his powerup against and that person is Sentomaru.

What remains to be seen is if Sentomaru will be treated like a "boss" or will Luffy be able to display his new skills without having to outright defeat him.

I'm a little surprised that some want a two year arc. That just seems a little too long for me.

Looks like i'm in the minority but I felt Skypea was one of the weaker arcs. It may have had a lot more pertinent information to the overall storyline, I just thought it was too long and I personally didn't like the main antagonist as much as some of the others.

Again, it bothers me that Fishman Island has been hyped up but the participants of the war at Marineford and even the Supernovas just bypassed it. I just don't see how this arc could be at least two years.

Also, someone stated that the Mermaid Princess has been mentioned twice. The only time I remember her being mentioned was the chapter where they showed what Keimi, Hatchan and the others were doing on Saboady.

Back on Saboady, Keimi and Hatchan talked about all the places they should take the Straw Hats once they get to Fishman Island and one suggestion was taking them to see the Princess.

I don't think there is any question that Fishman Island will have a huge Arc.

I've been bothered by how much hype Fishman Island has gotten only to see the participants of the Marineford War and Supernovas just pass right through it. However, things may not take a turn for the worst right away and 2 years would be ample time for things to totally deteriorate.

I'm still wondering if we get to Fishman Island by the end of the year.

I don't know that I would call Mihawk training Zoro pathetic but it is kind of a head scratcher.

However, I think it is kind of obvious that the Mihawk/Zoro rivalry has been softened a bit with the introduction of Shiryuu.

Personally, with the way Mihawk is portrayed, I just never could imagine Zoro and Mihawk having a knock out/drag out fight to the death. I always felt that there would be another character more powerful than Mihawk introduced who Zoro would have to defeat who was a lot more menacing.

Mihawk training Zoro is as big a head scratcher as all the New World Pirates and Supernovas just passing by Fishman Island when it has been hyped up and there have been rumors of how chaotic it will get with the death of Shirohige.

But at the end of the day, I believe we are witnessing a "masterpiece" and I won't complain too much.

      Great thread.

I don't want to go into great detail, as it looks as people have covered just about everything that may happen.

However, the the plot/theme I will be most interested in is who gets taken out by the Strawhats and who gets taken out by the Blackbeard Pirates.

I believe Luffy and Blackbeard will defeat a similar number of rivals in the New World as the 2 crews continue on their destined collision course. For example, I believe that Luffy takes out Kaido and Blackbeard defeats Shanks.

Also, I am uncertain if the big battle with the Government will come before or after the Strawhats battle Blackbeard. My guess is that the Strawhats will defeat the Blackbeard Pirates and then take on the Government.

True, but there is no doubt that members of the Strawhats being trained by legendary figures who are literally the best in the world at what they do will give them a huge edge over other Supernovas.

After 2 years of training with Rayleigh, Luffy should have no trouble dealing with Kidd. I understand Kidd and the other Supernovas will get stronger but it is highly unlikely they will be trained by the level of fighters the Strawhats are being trained by.

As far as the Grand Line, yes, it was hyped up but the crew didn't need to be trained before going there. When they got to the Grand Line, they got stronger.

But theoretically, Luffy is being trained by Rayleigh so there won't be a repeat of what happened in Saboady Archipelago.

I am in agreement with those that felt the 1st half of the story ended on a very strong note. Should the 1st half have ended with the Strawhats in the New World, maybe but i'm sure it won't take long for them to reach Fishman Island, once the 2nd half starts.

The only "theme" that troubles me is the idea that the Strawhats are not ready for the New World but you see the other Supernovas already in the New World and you even see Kidd claiming that the New World is "disappointing".

Also, I could see how some would feel that Luffy being trained by Roger's first mate and Zoro being trained by the world's greatest swordsman cheapens things a little bit. I think a lot of fans looked forward to the Strawhats fighting other Supernovas like Kidd/Killer but once Luffy has been trained by Rayleigh and Zoro has been trained by Mihawk, it just seems like the Strawhats should be able to defeat any Supernova fairly easily.

Personally, I would have liked to have seen Luffy get trained by the inhabitants of Amazon Lilly and Zoro spending his time fighting even stronger gorillas. These guys are being trained by the best and it kind makes the Strawhats go from underdogs to odds on favorites.

At the end of the day, Oda did his job. He introduced so many interesting themes and plots during the 1st half, that he forces the fans to continue to continue reading.

It is obvious that Bonney is affiliated with the Marines somehow and I believe Blackbeard knows what the affiliation because it would just seem odd for a turncoat and wanted criminal to negotiate with the Marines, unless he had something extremely valuable to them.

The 5 elder stars themseleves have done nothing indefensible if the Void Century is as dangerous as they make it out to be (and it almost certainly is).

True, but what gives them to right to keep this information from the public?

The only right they have is that they are currently the rulers of the world.

That's the beauty of One Piece, things are not black and white.

There are good and bad elements on both sides.

One can make an argument that the Five Elder Stars could have a mixture of good and bad elements, just depends on your point of view.

Similar to what Doflamingo quipped during the Marineford Arc, history is exactly that, History, meaning whoever wins the war becomes the moral authority.

Finally got a chance to sit down and read the chapter.

I thought it was excellent and Oda is really at the top of his game. A lot of times writers have a hard to keeping the reader's attention after an action filled event like the Marineford Arc, but Oda keeps throwing out nuggets that force you to keep reading.

As others have said, Kong serves as a conduit between the Five Elder Stars and the upper brass of the Marines. It is very common for very large organizations to have a position such as the one "Kong" has. I think Oda showed you that Kong has real authority as he basically tells Sengoku that he cannot retire and forces him to stay in the Marines. Now he was very smooth and passive aggressive when he did it but that was basically what happened.

Boy, the inevitable fight between Koby and Luffy just got a lot more interesting. I believe at the end of the series, Koby will be an Admiral level fighter. I could even see a situation where Luffy and Koby are much like Garp and Ace and Luffy eventually entrusts his child to Koby, but that's just a theory.

Anybody else glad Blackbeard got rid of Capone Bege? Out of the Supernovas, I thought he was the least interesting.

Also, when the Five Elder Stars were asking themselves, who could stop the rise of Blackbeard, why did one of them say, "The Four Emperors", when there is only 3 now?

    • RE: Chapter 593: "News" Discussion

Not sure what Luffy has done.

My only question is, is it something that he has done on Saboady Archipelago?

I don't think it is something he did on Amazon Lilly because nobody would know about it.

If it was something he did on Saboady Archipelago, it wouldn't make sense because he would just draw attention to himself, his ship and his crew mates trying to reach him.

It would be interesting if the big news is that he got married to the Empress of Amazon Lilly.

I honestly cannot begin to speculate what he has done because the last time we saw him, he was in a very isolated area. Maybe what Rayleigh had in mind wasn't training but something entirely different.

I hope Luffy didn't return to Marineford lol.

      @Chikmagnet7:

For those of you who missed my take, I'll repost it

! What was the "news" about Luffy all those characters kept reading about? Here's what we know.
      ! FACTS:
! 1. It was Rayleigh's "plan" that would allow Luffy access to SA without as much of a risk to himself and his crew. The initial interpretation of this proposal was simply that Luffy had to get stronger. But there are other options (or combinations of options).
! 2. The world knowing about it (through the "news") is a part of the plan (we find this out from the revolutionaries + Crocodile). In other words, Rayleigh was counting on the fact that this huge "incident" would be picked up by the newspapers.
! 3. Chopper's reaction tells us it's something outrageous, and his words can be translated as either "why again!!?" or "what now!!?"
! 4. Sanji's reaction is that of surprise.
! 5. Robin's reaction is that of amusement.
! 6. A revolutionary described it as a "big incident."
! 7. Iva-san's reaction was that of surprise and said that Luffy's actions reminded him of Dragon's antics.
! 8. Vivi asked, "is it for fashion? no it can't be… it's Luffy after all"
! 9. Croc's reaction to it was "Right after getting their lives saved...just what are these idiots thinking? They must be planning something. If not, they've gone mad."
! 10. Daz bones reaction: "strawboy is wounded. Do wounds disappear that easily?"
! Oda did a great job of telling us a lot whilst telling us nothing at all.
      ! ANALYSIS:
! From Crocodile's and Daz's reactions (9 & 10), we can conclude that whatever Luffy was reported doing (or having done) in the paper was extremely dangerous and would require a healthy Luffy. We know that it has been 3 weeks since the WB war ended and one week since we last saw Luffy with Rayleigh. That means they have had 1 week to carry out their "plan." We know that Trafalgar Law told Rayleigh that Luffy would have to stay put for another two weeks in order to heal. This leaves us with two options (that I can think of):
! 1. Luffy did in fact do something outrageously dangerous, and he healed in half the time,
      ! or
! 2. Luffy has not done anything outrageously dangerous, but it was just reported that he did.
! Fact #2, along with Law's warning about Luffy's health, leads me to believe that analysis option #2 is more likely.
! But whichever one it is, the purpose is ultimately the same: to allow Luffy an opportunity to meet up with his crew and continue on his journey without having to go through the same problems he and his crew encountered on SA (namely admirals, Pacifista, general marine/WG involvement). Remember, the world government and marines know what happened to the strawhats – that they were sent flying by Kuma to distant lands (even if they don't know specifically what lands they were). This was part of (if not entirely) the reason why Kuma was altered by Dr. Vegapunk in the first place. That being said, the WG and marines know that the Thousand Sunny is harbored on SA, and they may be waiting for Luffy and his crew to return to their ship unless….
! Luffy is off (or at least reported to be) causing mayhem to some WG island that would cause the WG to shift its attention away from SA and towards another island or area on the seas. This is also supported by Iva's statement (7) about the similarities to Dragon, who no doubt constantly fought against (and continues to fight against) the WG. This is also supported by the revolutionary, who called what Luffy has been reported as doing a "big incident" (6).
      ! THEORY:
! AL is technically a government-allied island, as it it home to the royal shichibukai, Boa Hancock. I believe that it was reported in the news that Luffy declared an attack on Kuja Island and its princess Hebihime. This is not to say that it was announced Luffy necessarily "took over" the island, but instead that he was launching a powerful attack with the help of Jimbei and other allies. Thus, it would not seem unreasonable or make Hancock look weak if she called out to the WG for help/backup against the powerful enemies. An attack on Boa and her island is technically a call to war against the WG and marines. This would explain a number of comments and reactions from people we've seen (3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10).
! * It would explain #3 because it is an outrageous thing to do, and technically it would be waging war against the WG "again" and targeting another shichibukai "again."
! * It would explain #4 because it is surprising.
! * It would explain #6 because it is a big incident.
! * It explains #7 because Iva would be surprised and such an action would remind him of Dragon, who likes to fight against the WG.
! * It explains #9 because, as Crocodile seems to think, whatever it is Luffy was reported as doing is something really stupid for a rookie like him. Declaring war against a WG island would fit that bill.
! * And it would explain #10 because, like #9, Luffy would need to be healthy or at least not "wounded" to be in a position to actually make such an action possible.
! That leaves Robin and Vivi.
! Robin could be amused for any number of reasons. She may think the picture of Luffy is funny. I personally think that she is amused because threatening an entire island controlled by a shichibukai with deep connections to the WG is such a strange thing to do (I can imagine it accompanied by a picture of Luffy with a really serious face), and it sort of brings back those weird memories of her ridiculous captain.
! As for Vivi, I think people are reading too much into this. I don't think her reaction is as important to the content of the article as some of the other reactions. But her reaction could be based on a couple of things. It could be something as simple as the photo of Luffy having him wearing some new AL clothes (possibly with frills?). But here's what I honestly think: Vivi's words can be interpreted as pondering whether Luffy's actions were based on "fashion," "style," or general outward appearances. But then she says to herself "no it can't be, it's Luffy after all." Vivi knows Luffy, and Luffy usually never does anything for purposes of looks, fashion, style, or any form of outward appearance; that's just not the kind of man he is. But her facial expression and confusion belie what she's saying to herself; it's as if she can't believe what she's reading and is attempting to convince herself that it is something Luffy would do and not simply something for style or appearance's sake.
! But of course it is for appearance's sake, as it will give Luffy time to reach SA without the government's tail and with limited interference. He may already be near or approaching SA with Jimbei (and Rayleigh?) since it's been a whole week. Meanwhile, the government is notified of strawhat's (and his allies') attack on Kuja kingdom (with a pretend photo–possibly funny/stylish--taken as evidence). Therefore, the government disregards SA as the place where the strawhats will be and focuses on Kuja Kingdom. By the time marine reinforcements arrive, Boa will simply claim that Luffy and company escaped by stealing a ship after causing massive damage and stealing some treasure. Of course, she will tell the government they went in a direction away from SA. This will ensure Boa keeps her title as Shichibukai as well, since she fought off Luffy.
! The strongest argument I have seen against this is that Sengoku is an extremely intelligent commander of his forces, and he wouldn't send all the marines to Kuja island. Of course, I don't mean to say that he will do anything of the sort – only that Luffy's "incident" will shift the focus of the world government's attention from SA to AL, giving Luffy just enough time and leeway to enter SA, meet up with his crew, and escape from SA unscathed. Nor do I think that Sengoku won't send backup to SA just in case Luffy happens to show up. Hence why the new "mindless" Bartholomew Kuma has shown himself on SA as we speak.
! Obviously, Oda could pretty much do anything, but currently I believe this to be the likeliest scenario.
      ! Thoughts?

This is a very well thought out and plausible theory.

Besides all the annoying "references" to what Luffy did, this was a fabulous chapter.

Disappeared after the war, but then reappeared and pulled off that big stunt

So is the bridge the Celestial Dragons are forcing people to build, just a way to keep hands from becoming idle and punishment or is there some other reason they are building it?

Anybody else get tired of all the references to what Luffy did?

So, Dragon thinks the "structure" of the Government will change. I'm not sure why the structure of the Government will change. No major marine was killed and the marines accomplished their objective.

I loved seeing Hatchan and Keimi talk about what they plan to do when they go to Fishman Island. I am in the minority but I still think Keimi could be the next crew member.

So it looks like Kuma is going to end up being the "final" boss of Saboady Archipelogo? Looks like Kuma will be the first person Luffy gets to demonstrate his new Haki abilities on.

Oda is definitely not done fleshing out Crocodile's character. It will be interesting to see what role he will play in the New World.

Chapter ends on a pretty decent cliffhanger, I wonder what the Government want's with Buggy.

      @BeeExAre:

Nothing ever suggested that Moria was being attacked by wires. The only attack we saw that could have been hitting Moria was an explosion caused by the Pacifista's lasers.

True but if the Pacifistas were capable of defeating Moria alone, then why was Doflamingo charged with killing him?

The Pacifistas were probably there solely for numbers, backup and possibly to serve as witnesses to Moria's demise.

I have serious doubts that the 5 Elder Stars would just take Doflamingo's word that he killed Moria. I believe that somehow the World Government can view what the Pacifistas see.

I agree, we have no proof but Moria was totally surrounded by Pacifistas and Doflamingo.

Unless Moria was able to cut a sweetheart deal with Doflamingo, the guy is dead.

Also, would the 5 Elder Stars take Doflamingo's word that Moria is dead or would they request some type of proof of his demise?

The only value Moria would bring to the story is that he has some valuable information about Kaidou that the Strawhats don't but once the Strawhats get to the New World, they will slowly gain that information.

      @maxterdexter:

Ok, we don't know how the pacifista lasers work, but why people insist saying that they are "transfered" from kizaru? Isn't more logical that he dind't transfer powers that untill blackbeard did it was called impossible, but instead he study the effects of the light fruit and imitated the results?

I think the difference is that Pacifistas are not human, they are robots, so maybe it is a little easier to "transfer" Devil Fruit power to them. For Dr. Vegapunk to attempt this on a human would require him to kill some of them, in the quest to find out how it is done.

Also, I personally don't believe it is logical that Dr. Vegapunk just studied the Devil Fruit. I think he physically needs to take something from the Devil Fruit user's body, in order for Pacifistas to use the Devil Fruit.

      Sorry Moria fans 👅.

Can you imagine the PR nightmare the World Government and the 5 Elder Stars would face if Moria was found to be alive after the World Government announced that he died?

Also, I think it is too early in the story for the 5 Elder Stars to not be able to accomplish a task, which was to kill Moria.

      Moria is dead folks.

The 5 Elder Stars would not have it reported that Moria is dead, if they didn't have complete assurances from Doflamingo that he did carry out his mission, which was to eliminate Moria.

There really is no real value for Moria to be alive and his death serves to show the reader just how serious it is for a Schichibukai to sink so low that they become "useless" to the World Government.

Mihawk is only confused by the circumstances of his death.

That tatoo Akainu is sporting is pretty interesting. The flowers just don't look right.

I'm with the group that believes Moria is dead. Mihawk is just confused about the circumstances surounding his death. Also, it would be a huge blackeye for the World Government to report that Moria is dead, only to have him resurface in the future.

Very interesting story told about Dr. Vegapunk and how he cared for his people. Does he have this same kindness or has working for the military hardened him? I wouldn't be surprised if Dr. VegaPunk is possibly being forced to work for the military.

I bet Franky takes some of Dr. VegaPunk's blueprints and uses them to help the crew in the future.

So I guess the apes in the bottom right panel here that are after Franky, are the same apes that Zorro is fighting?

The "Steve Urkel" moment Franky has is hilarious. Assuming the Marines know who Franky is, blowing up Dr. Vegapunk's laboratory has got to result in a very huge bounty.

So Brook has been taken prisoner but he is still on an island that is in the Grand Line. I wonder if the kidnappers are going to take him to a place that the Strawhats have visited before and he will receive help from past friends?

Anywho, decent chapter, I'm just bored with the separation and just ready for everyone to get back together and get to the New World.

It's painfully obvious that what Rayleigh has in mind is to teach Luffy something about Haki.

A while back, I stated that it just wouldn't make any sense for Luffy to arrive at a place such as Amazon Lilly, where Haki is a way of life and then have him leave, having learned absolutely nothing about Haki.

Now you have Oda name the very chapter after Rayleigh's response to Luffy wanting to go back to SA and afterwards, Rayleigh states that he has another idea.
