RE: Untitled
what role exactly do the male members of Luffy Harem play?
you don't let them have any fun. i would be totally on board with it if it was equal opportunity.
-
RE: Untitled
now I understand why luffy/hancock has never been something i'd actually ship. pedohancock! i love her anyway though.
as for fighting/no fighting, i understand that the constant zoro/sanji needling could be entertaining, but if you look at the dynamics of sanji/nami it's WAY BETTER so let's all ship that. especially when sanji's character gets rounded out a little.
(i won't try to argue zoro/luffy because i know nobody agrees with me) -
RE: Who has the highest status in the One Piece world?
yeah, the wg does technically maintain control of most of the world…the grand line is chaotic and somewhere is the rebel army, but that seems to be the exception not the rule.

RE: Who has the highest status in the One Piece world?
Don't you think Shanks could give him a run for his money?
for sure. If the Yonkou weren't at least in a league with each other, it wouldn't be 'the yonkou.' it'd just be 'the whitebeard.'
also, how do the yonkou compare in strength to the admirals? it seems to me the yonkou are stronger, but then i think of aokiji and go hmm.

RE: Straw hat's Separation Series
I think I mentioned this in the spoiler thread, not sure. But about the shadowy figure that Zoro meets with, I can only assume it's an older character because he's shadowed in the first place. Either that or a clear obvious relation to another character we have seen already. I just can't see Oda shadowing some mysterious swords man in a cover story unless we've seen him before.
People mentioned the idea of it being Shanks. Yeah they have similar swords as far as the shadow goes and it is the right hand showing, hahaha. But the fact remains that Shanks was probably well into the new world when this happend. But then again, when exactly do these stories take place? How long was Luffy in Amazon Lily? A week or so? If so I just can't see Shanks and co' making it from Zoro's island back to the other side of the red line to stop Kaido in time. Unless Zoro's island is extremely close to the red line.
I hadn't heard about the Shanks possibility…that would be really neat! and I agree that Oda probably won't just pop out a totally new character. probably. I don't think it'll be him, though. It seems like he's usually with his crew, and I can't think of a good reason for him to be on a ruined island...of all the separation arcs, I am most curious about Zoro's. I really, really hope Perona gets a big part in events to come. we'll see.
but who else could it be? I can't think of many swordsmen we know who are at loose ends, especially with the war on. -
Melantho draws
roronoa in a picture that was supposed to look kind of old-fashioned japanese:
oda's freaks:
nami, drawn before i realized that one piece art is better if you think about one piece style: -
RE: Untitled
i'm with you on franky/robin and lack of partner for brook and chopper.
apart from that not so much.
zoro/sanji makes me inexplicably irritated.
i can see what you mean with usopp and nami, but poor kaya!
luffy and boa is funny. -
RE: Next Crew Member Speculation (Ver 3.0)
as far as ~nyan bs goes, so far Oda has parodied that trend, not gone with it…those brothers in kuro's crew way back then were pretty blatantly poking fun at the 'sexy cat-person' image. hopefully he won't decide it's ok with a mink.
I'd have to meet them to find out...I think a dwarf would be cool, a merperson would be pretty inconvenient but a fishman would be good, if a longarm is like apoo then maybe? and longlegs are completely unknown i think so no call there.

RE: Venture Brothers
from what they were saying in panel it sounded like things would be a lot more scattered…but at least they seemed to be making a replacement for 24. kind of.
also i am totally pumped for what they said about dean and triana. hahaaaaa poor dean. -
RE: Ivankov's Gender-Changing Hormones!
Thanks so much naniyo! I'm trying to find something that works…

RE: Ivankov's Gender-Changing Hormones!
now I think i need to draw some gender-switches.
i seriously would not have ever considered it before reading this thread.
ooooh dear.EDIT:
Zoroko! cropped off the legs cause they sucked.
http://blueaorta.deviantart.com/art/zoroko-140259480can someone tell me how to link an image right onto the page? the little picture icon totally failed…what url are they asking for exactly?
don't kill me if i'm being stupid. i just want to participate. -
RE: Hello AP!
Hello!
Welcome to AP! I just joined a few days ago.
yes, it's better to talk OP when not in class. -
RE: If you were to redo the One Piece anime, what filler would you remove/keep?
I loved G-8. It's not Oda, but it's the next best thing. Otherwise I would keep cover stories and in the One Piece spirit have the filler arcs be a little more fun and random, a little less drama.
and for god's sake cut the apis arc. whatever it's called. -
RE: Which Devil Fruits do you think could've been better used?
Smoker is plenty powerful already, but the obvious way to use smoke would be suffocation. not that he needs any help being strong, but I was surprised to see the smoke df user not using the natural properties of smoke aside from intangibility.
I agree about Robin's and Miss Valentine's being particularly underused.

RE: Straw hat's Separation Series
fat female usopp is funny but i'd miss skinnymanusopp in the long term. and I noticed in the anime that Robin's story was darker than a lot of One Piece…pretty grim, and very little comic relief. which was then balanced by usopp's section in the same episode. Toei seems to be doing a pretty good job with the filler overall...though I have to disagree with everyone else and say that Nami's was the weakest.
I'd love to see more of all of them, though...I'm missing the crew a lot. -
RE: HOW do You read One Piece?
I read it online (usually at onemanga, it seems to load fine for me) and instead of starting with the new chapter, I reread last week's so I'm all up to date and in context, and then go through the new one once quickly and once slowly.
the smashing pumpkins seem to do a lot of good soundtrack songs.

RE: Untitled
ZOLU is the best pairing in OP. Hands down
YES PLEASE. the two most hopelessly non-shippy crewmembers make the BEST PAIRING EVER. it is FACT.
-
RE: Untitled
HAHAHA
I think we can all agree that crack pairings are way more entertaining than comparing OTPs. (I do have one, but I hate arguing it out. and I ship the characters' friendship as much as their romance.)let's all say HEY to
buggy/alvida
perona/usopp
and
kidd/law. or any two supernovas, really. just pull any two supernovas out of a hat and you've got a sure win. -
RE: Next Crew Member Speculation (Ver 3.0)
I love Bon Kurei. He or Buggy would make great additions to the chemistry of the crew, and clearly Oda likes them a lot.
…but there's always the male-female ratio issue.
and for that, we have the contenders of Boa Hancock and Perona. I really like both of them, but if I'm rooting for one over the other it's going to be Perona. Both she and Hancock have good comedic potential, but I think Perona's power level is closer to that of the average Strawhat, and I definitely agree with those who have cited Hancock's position as empress of Amazon Lily as an obligation for her. They'll find some way around the lovesickness, or, as was said earlier, she'll be available to have Luffy's children at the end of the story. -
Heso!
I've been reading One Piece for three years now, and after seeing all the response to the character tournaments on here (people posted fun stuff on dA) I needed to join. I also do some OP art myself.
and I love reading the SBS.
so hello, One Piecers! I look forward to lots of forum-ing.
