    • RE: Next Straw Hat Crewmates (Vol. 9 - Yamato vs. The World)

I'd honestly be surprised if Yamato doesn't join the crew.

As for Carrot, I'm not sure - the scene with her in 1056 seemed like it was meant to wrap up her storyline until the Minks and everyone else returned for the final war, but if that's what it was meant to do, it seemed like a really awkward/rushed way to do it, with Carrot being forced into a role that she has no desire to fill and no confidence in her ability to do the job in question without having any say in the matter, and her only qualifications being "well, you left Zou for a week, so I guess that's good enough."

I don't know if it was hastily included as a way to acknowledge Carrot's popularity, but if that's the case, then you would think that she would have been convinced by the end of it, and she still looked unsure. (and the "your heart carries Pedro's will" claim seems weird in this context, since Pedro's will had nothing to do with leading Zou)

Either way, hopefully this will be made clear in the next few chapters. I'm guessing that Kinemon and Momo will get their big dramatic goodbyes next chapter, and the Straw Hats will be out at sea in 1058 - if either of them are joining, whether they got on at the end of Wano or have stowed away, it seems like it would be revealed there, though maybe we'll get reactions and news from around the world before we go back to following the Straw Hats out at sea.

      @electricmastro:

Also, I originally wasn’t going to say this, but after realizing how long I’ve been seeing it, I have to mention that it’s getting a little ridiculous how often Carrot is getting brought up to counter just about any point with Yamato, as if Carrot is at war with Yamato. lol

I think it's because we're in an unusual case where there's two popular choices for the next crewmate who aren't competing for the same role like Franky and Paulie were, and the reasons why people view each character as being likely happen to be reasons why the other seems unlikely.

      Carrot:

      • strong bond with the crew, or at least the Whole Cake Island team (especially Nami, Chopper, and Sanji)
      • very clear potential for a role on the crew (lookout)
      • not much of a bond with Luffy (a few little moments, but not much)
      • not much focus during Wano (even her plotline that had been built up since WCI was resolved in a way that seems weirdly pessimistic for One Piece)

      Yamato:

      • a large amount of focus since the character's introduction
      • a strong bond with Luffy (at least, he trusts Yamato and said he owes him one, and Yamato knows Luffy's big dream that Roger also had)
      • the rest of the crew barely knows that Yamato exists
      • no clear role on the crew (sake brewer feels like a stretch to me - it seems like saying that the crew really needs a diplomat, scientist, or astronomer because someone really wants Vivi, Caesar Clown, or Monet to join and is working backwards from that)

I'd love it if both of them joined, but regardless of which one joins, or if both of them do, it's definitely being handled in a weird way. (I've only been around for Franky, Brook, and Jinbei joining, but in those cases, you could clearly call it well in advance, whereas in these cases, it feels like some significant pieces are missing from the puzzle)

    • RE: Next Straw Hat Crewmates (Vol. 9 - Yamato vs. The World)

At this point, I'd honestly be surprised if Yamato didn't join; I've seen some people bring up alternatives, but none of them have really made sense for me.

      • stay in Wano as the shogun/guardian deity? Yamato's current goal is to get out of Wano as quickly as possible, and the only person pushing for Yamato to act as the shogun or guardian of Wano is Kaidou.

      • stay in Wano as Momo's bodyguard? Momo already has the Nine Red Scabbards, Shinobu, various Kozuki loyalists, and in all likelihood he'll also have Tama and the Gifters to protect him, on top of him being physically older and having a better understanding of his DF. Not sure if the people who say this think that all of the Scabbards are going to die - if that's the case, I'm not sure if those people have read One Piece.

      • form a crew with ex-Beast Pirates and join the Grand Fleet? Yamato's dislike of the Beast Pirates seems pretty clear, and it's getting exhausting to see the Grand Fleet get used as a dumping ground for potential crewmates because the commenter doesn't like them or want them to join. (Ex. "Despite a decade of build-up, Jinbei's going to join the Grand Fleet with his former crew instead of becoming an actual Straw Hat Pirate!" "Despite being among the youngest and least experienced of the Minks, Carrot's going to form the New Nox Pirates and they'll join the Grand Fleet!")

      • setting out to sea solo? Luffy only survived that by pure luck in the East Blue, and this is the New World. Yamato's never even left Wano, as far as we know, and hasn't left Onigashima since the age of eight. Yamato's sailing knowledge, navigational skills, etc. are likely non-existent.

      • dying? I don't even know why people would seriously consider this an option, but it gets brought up from time to time, at least on Reddit.

I'd like to see Carrot join the crew as well (she seems like she'd be a fun addition, she has some build-up towards the lookout position (which hasn't been filled on the Straw Hat crew), she's already gotten parallels with how Nekomamushi and Inuarashi joined Whitebeard and Roger, and it would be bizarrely downbeat and mean-spirited for Oda to end off her plotline with Carrot being told that she's worthless garbage and having the story do nothing to refute this), but unless she starts getting focus, I'm guessing that it won't happen. (at the very least, it's hard for me to be optimistic when her storyline that had been built up since WCI and followed through with seems to have ended with Carrot losing off-screen, and Perospero getting beaten by someone with no connection to the events at WCI while Carrot contributes absolutely nothing)

    • RE: Chapter 1,026: The Pivotal Clash

Luffy splitting the sky was great, and a definite sign of how far he's come, but otherwise, I wasn't a fan of this chapter. When I saw the early spoilers, I thought I might be jumping the gun, but my issues with those spoilers seem even worse in the context of the chapter.

A minor issue that I had was Momo biting Kaidou and making him scream out in pain. Given that Kaidou's skin has been built up to be extremely difficult to get through, with Luffy needing to specifically train in advanced armament haki to be able to do it, and the Nine Red Scabbards barely being able to pull it off, it seems weird that Momo can just do it without even knowing that it's a big deal. (it seems to undermine Kaidou's threat as a villain when someone who was an untrained eight year old five minutes ago, and still is one mentally, can make him scream out in pain)

My bigger problems were with Jack's portrayal and the whole Perospero plotline. When it comes to Jack, he's one of Kaidou's top minions, and yet he didn't even get a named attack, let alone a full chapter worth of fighting. (instead, throughout the arc, we've gotten a few snippets of fights that happened mostly off-screen, and the snippets that we got involved Jack getting his butt kicked) I get that he's been treated as though he's not as tough as King or Queen, but he's still a juggernaut with a billion Berry bounty - it seems weird to give him less focus than the Flying Six, or for someone like Holdem to have more named attacks than him. It would have been nice if it seemed like it took some actual effort to beat him, rather than having him go down in one good hit from a single member of the Scabbards. (I get that it's personal for Inuarashi, given what happened to Zou, but Jack's defeat seemed so effortless)

And then there's the Carrot-Pedro-Perospero plotline - what was the point of it? If it had just been dropped after Whole Cake Island, I could assume that people (myself included) were reading too deeply into a few panels, but then Perospero made it to Onigashima (the only member of the Big Mom Pirates, aside from BM herself, to do so), Carrot specifically went after him to avenge Pedro, and it seemed like the plot was actually building up to something…

...and then Carrot was beaten off-screen and mocked by Perospero for even thinking that she could stand a chance. Still, villains act arrogant in their own abilities all the time, and Perospero only won because the moon was covered up, so maybe...

...and then Nekomamushi, who had no idea who Perospero was, beats him in one attack while Carrot can only sit on the side and watch, despite the fact that Nekomamushi going into the Sulong state meant that Carrot should have been able to as well.

It just raises the question of why Carrot was involved in Whole Cake Island (if it was to make us feel sad about Pedro's death or introduce Sulong, Pekoms could have done both of those things), or why Perospero was brought into the raid when all he accomplished was allying with Marco for a chapter and occasionally attacking Marco or Chopper, or why that plotline was built up over the past year (more if we count Whole Cake Island) if all of that was going to amount to Perospero being beaten in one hit by someone who had no idea who he was a few minutes ago, while Carrot (who actually saw what happened) contributes nothing. Considering that Oda's someone who brought back the plotline of Captain John's treasure years later, across several arcs, it seems weird for him to abruptly rush through an entire plotline and two separate fights like this. (it also ends the plot on a note that's weirdly pessimistic for One Piece, with Perospero telling Carrot that she should have stayed home and never gone out to sea - that seemed like an opportunity to Carrot to prove him wrong and contribute to his defeat, but instead, we're left with the feeling that Perospero was right and Carrot should just stay in Zou instead of seeing the world)

Maybe I'm jumping the gun, and Jack will get up later to get an actual on-screen fight (he's been shown to be durable), or we'll get a conclusion to the plotline at the start of next week's chapter, but given that the narration at the end seems pretty definitive, I have my doubts.

Sorry for the rant; like I said earlier, I liked Luffy splitting the sky, but the rest of the chapter just seems like wasted potential.

      @starlalilymoon:

The more I see advertising for Yamato like this is making me think this is a huge sign that she might join even more? First the towels, and now figurines? Hmmm. Or maybe it is all a coincidence with the timing.

It could be a sign that Yamato's joining, but it could also be taking advantage of Yamato's massive popularity. (seeing as she placed eleventh in a worldwide popularity poll before even appearing in the anime) From what I've read, Law was treated in a similar way in earlier pieces of merchandise.

It's been posted elsewhere, but the first part of the colour spread for this popularity poll has been released. (I'm assuming we can talk about it, since the chapter's been officially released)

I'm thinking that all of the Straw Hats (and a few others, like Crocodile or Enel) will be in the second colour spread, while the Roger and Whitebeard Pirates (and some others who are affiliated with them, like Sabo, or don't fit into other categories, like Carrot or Woop Slap) will be in the third. (I'm guessing that Shanks and Blackbeard will be in the other two corners, rather than Shanks and Whitebeard)

I find it weird that King had three separate introduction pages (I think - there were at least two), and yet his bounty's being revealed in a Vivre Card.

I feel like no matter what's listed for Yamato under gender (whether it's "female", "female (heart of a male)" (similar to what Kiku had), "female (heart of Oden)", or something else), there's going to be plenty of outrage.

I saw this on the One Piece subreddit:

This would be the ideal scenario for me; it would be great if both of them joined.

The story seems to clearly be building up to Yamato joining, given lines like "I'm going to sail the seas with Luffy, after I drive you out of Wano, Kaido!" (we haven't really gotten Luffy's perspective on it, but I don't see why he'd say no, even if we probably won't get his point of view until after Kaidou's beaten), but Carrot meshes well with the crew, and she'd make for a great contrast with Nami, Robin, and Jinbei, at the very least. (seeing as she's goofier than Nami and Robin and more willing to join in with Luffy/Usopp/Chopper's shenanigans or stuff like Pirate Robo: Big Emperor, and Jinbei and her have sun and moon imagery, along with Jinbei being an serious veteran who's unprepared for the wackiness of the Straw Hats while Carrot's a naive newcomer who goes with the flow of the crew)

I realize that people are likely going to prioritize different details for why someone should join (in this case, whether it's more important to interact with Luffy or to interact with the crew as a whole - Yamato has more of the former but barely any of the latter, and Carrot's the opposite), but I don't see why it's impossible for both of them to join.

      @Blowfish:

I still think there's a decent chance they both join to be honest.

I think so too. At the very least, I could easily see it happening, and Moria (who has a grudge against Kaidou) is being set up to do something with Blackbeard. It would be kind of weird to bring Moria back into the story, in the arc where Kaidou is the main antagonist and his child is a front-runner for the Straw Hat's next crew member, and then kill Moria off-screen or something like that.

I've already stated my thoughts on Carrot elsewhere (the first Sulong appearance felt like a potential Straw Hat moment to me, like Brook slashing the spider-monkey or Jinbei being lined up with the crew at FI, and I've wanted to see a woman who would take part in Luffy/Usopp/Chopper's shenanigans join the crew), and Oda's clearly going somewhere with her story. (it wouldn't make sense to kill Pedro, have Carrot want to avenge Pedro, bring back the guy who got Pedro killed (and only him, not the rest of that crew), and then have Carrot lose off-screen and nobody ever mentions this plotline again)

Both of them joining would be ideal to me; here's hoping that it happens.

I'm guessing that the unexpected character is going to be Cooler, and if that winds up being the case, then I think we'll get a fusion between Cooler and Freeza. (they brought up fusion to Freeza in the last movie, and I figure they're going to follow up on that at some point)

Though maybe they should go in a different direction than that; the previous two movies and the final arc of Super had Freeza as a pretty major focus.

Which only adds negative numbers when considering why it's never been mentioned in 23 years of serialization, no one officially holds it, and heck, the original sketches of the crew included a Botanist, but not a Lookout at all.

Can't get any more obvious how the author is not interested.

Weren't characters or jobs erased from the original drawings to avoid spoilers?

I'm not sure if a job not being mentioned on the original sketch of the crew (or at least, the versions that we've seen) means that it won't be included. (as far as I can tell, a helmsman wasn't listed in the first drawing, but that doesn't mean that we weren't going to get a helmsman)

For me I don't think it's a question of 'why is Oda building her up as a crew member this way?' but rather 'why is Oda building Carrot up at all?'

If Carrot is just going to go back with the minks and become another one of the mink members then what is even the point in any of the Pedro or Perospero stuff? You could argue that Carrot's whole point in coming along to WCI was just to show off Sulong and nothing else but if that was the case why in Wano do we get her hanging around with the crew more than the minks? Why do we get her having her own fight? What is the narrative purpose of all of this?

My thoughts exactly - if she's not going to join the crew, then it has me wondering why she was even brought to Whole Cake Island in the first place (Pedro and Pekoms had more of a connection to it, and either of them could have been used to demonstrate Sulong), or why a grudge was established with Perospero that carried over to the Wano arc (to the point where he's the only member of the Big Mom Pirates aside from Big Mom herself to make it to Onigashima, just so that plot point could be resolved), if it doesn't serve any purpose.

      @Monquito:

It wouldn't be so bad if there was actually new stuff to discuss, but nope, it still goes back to WCI.

Carrot vs. Perospero is happening right now, which has been built up since Whole Cake Island, but from what I've seen, that gets dismissed as being a sign of her possibly joining for the following reasons: (not a complete list; just some that I've seen brought up in this thread and elsewhere online)

-the fight's been off-screen for too long, so therefore, it's unimportant
-Carrot's being "selfish" for wanting to avenge Pedro, so therefore, she's in the wrong and she's not joining
-Carrot's putting revenge before helping the Straw Hats, so she's never going to join
-Pedro is still alive somehow, so therefore, Carrot's not joining
-Carrot's currently in her Sulong state, so that means she's going to lose off-screen and stands no chance of joining
-Sanji's going to show up and beat Perospero instead, meaning that Carrot stands no chance of joining
-Carrot didn't get much focus in Wano's first two acts, so even if she wins this fight, she's still not joining
-even if Carrot wins, she'll only win because of her Sulong form, so she's too weak to join

As far as I can tell, it seems like no matter what happens (even if she gets a complete on-screen fight against Perospero and wins it, in addition to any build-up done in Whole Cake Island or Wano), people are going to twist that into proof that she stands no chance whatsoever of joining the Straw Hats.

Since chapter 1000 is officially released in English now, Yamato's moment where he said that he'd never mock Luffy's dream (because, according to Oden's logbook, Roger said the same thing) felt like a "they're a potential Straw Hat" moment to me. (like Brook's introduction (or, at the latest, the point where he said that he's a musician), Jinbei being lined up with the Straw Hats at Fishman Island/the volume 64 cover, or Carrot using Sulong for the first time/the volume 88 cover - I started reading around Franky vs. Fukurou, so Franky joining was obvious by that point, and I'm aware that one of these is not necessarily like the others)

I'm still don't think it's a guarantee that Carrot or Yamato will join. Both would be ideal - if they need to make it so the Straw Hats and Blackbeard Pirates have the same number of major members, they could have Moria take Blackbeard up on his offer, since Blackbeard beating Moria wouldn't really prove how strong Blackbeard is by this point. (Moria's fallen extremely far since his backstory, or even since Thriller Bark)

I still feel like a lot of it depends on how they're handled going forward (is Yamato going to stick with Momonosuke for the rest of the arc? Is Carrot vs. Perospero going to be finished off-screen? If the answer to either of those is "yes", then I don't think that character's joining), but for me, it's a closer race than it was before. (though again, I'd have no problem if they both joined)

This just seems like it's twisting the events of the series so that, no matter what the outcome is, it's somehow proof that Carrot won't join.

If she fights Perospero, it means she's "putting revenge over helping the Straw Hats". If she didn't fight Perospero, it would probably be taken as "she's not important enough to get her own plotline/fight in this arc".

(Even Chopper's little sister figure gets a higher bounty than him)

No. I don't know why this point needs to keep being nailed into peoples' heads but he didn't specify that two members of the Crew would join in succession. Based on the timing of when he said this (around 2010) and the context of it, it's pretty damn clear what he meant was that more than one person would ally with the Strawhats in quick succession.

In the same way that people for 10 YEARS have claimed "Oda said the next nakama would be a former boss character" when the context shows he clearly was referring to the characters from Impel Down joining up with Luffy for the breakout.

Using a decade old half translated accurately quote doesn't do anything to help a point you're trying to make in 2020.

He made the comment about the Straw Hats getting new members "in quick succession" or "one after the other" in 2014.

      http://www.onepiecepodcast.com/2014/07/04/eiichiro-oda-interview-with-china-times/

I'm not sure what the original quote was, or if the term "nakama" was used (I think that's generally used to refer to Straw Hat crewmates rather than allies, though I could be wrong), though based on the timing, it could be referring to the Grand Fleet.

Kiku seems like an odd choice; I can't recall her doing anything that's visually interesting, compared to the likes of King, Queen, or Jack.

I figured Oden was coming, and Kinemon probably should have been in there from the start since they made a model for him and he plays a major role in Wano.

Not a fan of Killer's inclusion (when it comes to gameplay, he seems generic), but Urouge, on the other hand…

…probably won't be crazy interesting from a gameplay standpoint either. (though at least he'd have more going for him visually) Surprised that Apoo isn't in there, given his Devil Fruit powers and his role in the Wano arc.

"Traveling to the past" isn't a limitation; if anything, it's an upgrade.

As far as we've seen, Toki's Devil Fruit only lets people travel to the future, because traveling back in time would break the story in hundreds of different ways. Among other things, the tragic elements in Oden's flashback wouldn't happen because as soon as Oden's blackmailed, captured, or killed, Toki could send people back in time to stop Orochi from rising to power, and that's just based on how Toki would use it.

Even if it was just a limit of being able to travel back a few days, it would still completely change the story. (and cause the Wano arc to go on for even longer than it already has - it's already on track for being the longest arc in the series, if it hasn't reached that point already)

I tried out the DLC characters. Out of the three of them, Cracker seems like the most fun, since he has a transformation special and he can summon Biscuit Soldiers with his heavy attack. However, it's kind of weird - he had a unique line when fighting Perospero, but not when fighting Katakuri or Big Mom. (I'm not sure which missions have him teaming up with either of them, but I can check)

Shame that we didn't get any new missions, or even costumes, though. You'd think that the developers would have jumped at the chance to include Wano costumes for Usopp, Robin, Franky, Brook, and Chopper, at the very least. (I'm kind of surprised that Chopper hasn't gotten any alternate costumes, all things considered)

I'm still supporting Carrot, or at least I feel like she's got the best chance out of any currently-introduced characters. Yamato seems like a possibility, but from what we've seen, their goals are based entirely around Wano, which doesn't seem like a good sign given that the same idea can be said for Vivi (save Alabasta), Momo (save Wano), Wiper (reclaim Upper Yard), Rebecca (save Dressrosa), etc. It doesn't seem similar to the goals that the rest of the Straw Hats have.

Maybe that will change once it's revealed that the Scabbards are alive, or maybe it will be expanded upon by the end of the arc. I just feel like it's too early to act like Yamato's a sure thing.

As for Carrot, I just figure that she meshes well with the crew, I've wanted to see a woman on the crew who'd take part in Luffy/Usopp/Chopper's antics rather than staying out of them like Nami and Robin do, and her inclusion in Whole Cake Island seemed weird to me from a writing standpoint. (she's not there to motivate the Straw Hats to go somewhere like Vivi, Momo, Law, Kinemon, etc., and she's not there to provide exposition like Hatchi, Johnny and Yosaku, Pedro, etc., so it raises the question of why Oda has her traveling with the Straw Hats so consistently)

She still needs more focus (though Perospero arriving at Onigashima could provide that), but at the very least, I figure she's more likely than the rest of the characters that we've seen.

It's not like Onigashima is the perfect place to show off her capabilities, or anything...

You people give Carrot Zou, WCI and Wano to prove that she's Nakama material, but Tama doesn't get the chance in her first arc.

It was made clear from Carrot's first appearance that she can take care of herself. Tama didn't, and arguably still hasn't, shown that she can do that. (she can get animals/gifters/Zoans(?) to work for her with dangos, but if no animals/gifters/Zoans(?) are nearby, she's a defenseless eight year old)

Tama wants to get to that point (especially since it's the only way she could fulfill the promise she made to Ace), but she wants to become a ninja, and anyone who could possibly train her to do that is on Wano.

Not bad just hard and tedious.

I had the same mindset as you after having played through Golden and Portable i.e. I got through those games just fine, now I want to see what the other games in this case Nocturne was like.

Can’t count on both hands how many times I got kicked to the game over screen while I was playing though Nocutrne and the experience sure as hell didn’t get better with SMT4.

      @zeltrax225:

Nocturne is..a difficult entry into the SMT series. Have fun. P3 is a great shift in tone compared to 4 and 5 and it might get mundane and overly dramatic sometimes but I always felt that out of all Persona, it was the best written one.
I'll recommend SMT 4 AND 4A if you ever have the chance, really great games.

Thanks for the warning/heads-up. I'll probably look into reviews first to be on the safe side rather than jumping right in. If Persona 4's any indication, I'm guessing that Persona 3's going to be about 40-50 hours at least, so it'll be a while before I decide on whether or not to play SMT Nocturne.

I took a break from it to play through Doom Eternal and Kirby Planet Robobot so that I wouldn't be playing through two long RPGs so close together. Both games were fun, though Doom Eternal was much more difficult than Doom (2016). Kirby was just the kind of relaxing game that I needed.

      Favourite character/pairing?
Which one do you believe have a better plot? I live in a city so P5 felt more relatable but I loved the closely knitted community of 4.
P5 is pretty watered down in terms of difficulty probably because of the change in its target market
If you have the time, I would recommend the Megaten series and their spin offs

Not sure about pairings (though not counting the player characters, I could see Kanji x Naoto happening for Persona 4), but as far as favourite characters are concerned, I liked Ryuji, Makoto, and Futaba from Persona 5, and Chie, Nanako, and Dojima from Persona 4.

In terms of a better plot, it's hard to say - Persona 5's plot caught me off-guard in several places, but that's because I hadn't played any other games in the series before. The mystery in Persona 4 felt "fairer" by comparison, but it felt similar to P5 in terms of its structure, which made it easier for me to see certain plot points coming.

At some point after I beat Persona 3, I think I'll give Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne a try. (all I know about it is the "featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series" meme, but I figure having a familiar character might help to get me into the game)

You should've quoted my first post.

I don't know what Tama's dream is, if she has one.
It would help to know Tams's reasons for wanting to leave Wano.

If it's something like to see the world, then it's not necessary for her to become a Strawhat.
After Wano opens its border she can do what ever she wants.

The only reasons I see are: being lonely not having anyone besides Tengu, the state of the country, poverty, hunger etc.
All of that will be gone, therefore she wouldn't have a reason to leave any more.

Don't get me wrong, she's one of my three characters who have a chance of joining, and if it were up to me, she could join without any reason at all.
But the people are using the same arguments over and over again, I only try to think about the things that could happen in any case.

From what I recall, Tama's dream is to become a kunoichi/ninja. Seeing as she has no training at the moment, she has a long way to go, and it seems like she'd accomplish it by sticking with Shinobu or Raizo rather than leaving the one place in the setting where ninjas can be found.

During this quarantine, I beat Persona 4 and Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the first time.

I hadn't played Persona 4 before, and my only experience with the series was Persona 5. I'm not sure which I liked more - Persona 4 had a less interesting supporting cast, but that meant I could spent more time bonding with the main characters, who I found to be more interesting than Persona 5's. (Persona 5 had a great cast, but I found Yusuke and Haru to be forgettable, whereas that wasn't the case with P4) However, I found Persona 4 to be more difficult than Persona 5 - I never had to go out of my way to level grind in Persona 5, whereas I had to do that for three separate bosses (the fourth, second-to-last, and last bosses) in P4.

For Ocarina of Time, I had played it plenty of times, but I always reached a point where I got stuck, either in the Water Temple or the Spirit Temple. This time around, I used a guide to get through both, and I also managed to complete the trading quest and get the Biggoron's Sword, which was a huge help. I didn't beat the game 100%, but I finished with 17 hearts, all of the items but one bottle, all of the Great Fairy upgrades, and 66 Golden Skulltulas defeated, which I thought was pretty good considering that I wasn't going for 100% completion.

I'm playing Persona 3 right now, though I might change to Doom Eternal if I start to feel like I'm having deja vu from playing two Persona games so close together. Doom Eternal's fun, but I'm finding it to be quite difficult, even on the game's equivalent of "Normal" difficulty.

      @Solid:

I really like the idea of Carrot resurrecting Pedros expedition and gathering up the remaining poneglyphs for Luffys and Robins sake, theres still a lot of poneglyphs left, and it would be kind of cheap if Luffy just found them all in one place, and it makes sense with her mentor being Pedro and all.

The crew doesn't need to find all of them, though. There's the four red poneglyphs (of which they've already found three or know where they are) and nine poneglyphs about the true history (Robin's already found four of them, apparently). At least one of the poneglyphs that Big Mom has seems like it would contain information about the True History, and going by chapter 934, there's a poneglyph (not a red one) below Orochi's castle.

That leaves only four poneglyphs that Robin needs to find for the sake of the story (one red and three historical) by the time that this arc is over, maybe three if Kaidou has one of the historical ones. (either way, between Big Mom's poneglyphs and any that are on Wano, I'm thinking that we're going to get a big info-dump at the end of the arc)

Plus, I'm not sure if Carrot would bring back the Nox Pirates - she only learned about Pedro's involvement in that while they were at Whole Cake Island, and she doesn't seem like the type to take charge of a group of Minks and form a pirate crew. (it seems telling that, when her and Chopper were working together, Chopper took charge, and he's not exactly a leader figure to begin with)

Monet has a 0% chance of joining in my mind (she was involved with drugging and murdering children, and was so loyal to Doflamingo that she was willing to die for him), but if it hadn't been so long since Punk Hazard, I could totally see there being a cover story about the wacky misadventures of Vergo's severed head and Monet as they free Doflamingo's lower ranked minions from Impel Down (but not Doflamingo or the elite officers), manage to escape, and start a traveling circus or something like that.

I've completed the game 100%, at least as far as the in-game percentage is confirmed. Still haven't played as all of the characters, though maybe I'll try that if I decide to pick the game up again.

The biggest oddities about the roster, at least from what I found, are that Kuma isn't playable (he basically had a model in the game itself, since the only difference between him and the Pacifistas is that one has paws while the other has laser cannons), but Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji all are. I haven't played as them much, but from what I've seen, Ichiji has a special where he summons the other two, which raises the question of why all three of them needed to be playable when in theory, Ichiji could cover everything.

The game's fun, and 100% completion isn't as hard as I expected, though some characters are clearly better than others. Chopper's light attacks have zero range, since for whatever reason, they decided to have all of his light attacks be in his default Brain Point mode. You'd think that they'd have him shifting between forms (even if it's just his human and deer forms) for some variety with his light attacks, rather than having him flail his little arms around and barely hit anything.

The past few chapters literally are the ones with Wanda, Sicilian, Concelot and Giovanni. This is the only one chapter where there's a small panel of Carrot.
And that's just as picky as Oda showing us Okiku, Raizo and Kawamatsu in Law's submarine, but despite being there too, we cannot see Inuarashi and Shinobu.

I'm not sure what you're getting at when you say that this is the only chapter where Carrot's in a small panel like this. She got similar reaction shots in the past few chapters, while every other Mink that's on the Sunny wasn't grouped with the Straw Hats like that:

      http://i8.imggur.net/one-piece/976/one-piece-13512307.jpg

It's not much, and maybe she's only included because she's the only Mink present with a connection to Jinbei, but it seems harder to dismiss it as purely being a coincidence when it keeps happening, even before this.

if we up to consider the previous chapters, Wanda, Sicilian, Concelot and Giovanni are there as well.

Maybe I misinterpreted what Vongola Boss had originally meant when they said that there's a difference between how Carrot is treated compared to how Wanda, Giovanni, etc. were being treated - I thought they were talking about how they're treated in general.

Over the past few chapters, you don't see Wanda, Giovanni, or Concelot lumped into group/reaction shots with the Straw Hats - if not for the establishing shots of the Sunny when the Straw Hats arrived after Oden's flashback, there'd be no indication of the last two being on the ship at all. (And Wanda's only appearance on the Sunny aside from that shot was cropped out of most scans, including the official release)

It's just something that disturbs me in my subconscious and upsets my moral compass.

Like how in the original Dragon Ball,
Black tried to fly away in his mech, terrified of Goku.
Then Goku yelled "I don't let bad guys get away!" and exploded the mech, killing Black in the process.
Yet I'm sitting here saying "but….you let tons of people get away... that's like... one of the things you're most known for."

He only really got that way after training with Kami - as a kid, Goku built up a higher body count than what you'd expect. (most of them being robots and monsters, but he had no problem with Tao Pai Pai apparently dying)

He kept Piccolo (Junior) alive out of necessity, since if he died, then so would Kami, and the Dragon Balls would no longer exist. That worked out pretty well for him, so he stuck with that attitude until Freeza.

I dunno why but after Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors I was hoping a lot of the stuff for the extra mode would have rubbed off them. Nope. A list where you can use anyone. I played as most of the chars then just defaulted back to Robin as she's now incredibly OP (finally, she's usable) but just got bored quickly.
