OMG THAT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!
First, Bartolomeo is such an awesome dude, I really hope he joins the crew at this point, he will make a great addition…plus he's pretty strong...
and I am so happy Sabo is finally revealed to be alive. Finally the debates can stop. He's going to win the tournament by taking Luffy's place. He's going to beat Jesus Burgess and Rebecca? He must be really damn strong. Luffys crying face was epic. Damn epic chapter.
I knew it would be a cop out. The scene was amazingly depicted, but I knew it would be like how Toriko Nd others feasted on the 4 beast, the image in the head. Dissapointed but not unexpected. If they seriously killed off that dude, it would have made the manga way more epic. Oh well.
Maybe the Island will be destroyed and they will need to board Noah to survive? Kinda like how Noah survived with all the pairs of animals in human mythology.
The day that must come, seems like another prophecy. Does this fit in with the prophecy of SH destroying the island?
So now we finally have seen a glimpse of everyone's power…they seem way to strong for the fishmen.
I found Shirahosi's reasoning in not telling ANYONE the true killer is Hody to be stupid…I have to agree with Hody on this one. Sure they had no proof aside from an eyewitness whale...but if they at least knew it was hody, they could have kept an eye out for him. Possibly even prevented some of his plans.
Also, I just think Otohime saying not to hate the killer was kinda silly. Well, she probably thought the killer was also a human, that a fish person wouldn't stoop to that level, so that's why she wanted Shirahoshi to keep that promise. Where is the justice in letting a killer go loose? Forget the hate for a second...knowing the killer is out there would be pure torture for anyone.
The chapter was still pretty epic, predictable, but still very well done. Unlike some people, I expect Hody to come back and fight Luffy...I don't expect Hody to roll over that easily. He's popped enough pills, he can withstand lots of dmg.
wow…what an epic chapter! I get now why Luffy is so desperate to be "free" and be able to roam around the sea without restrictions...why the meaning of being the Pirate King is not one with lots of treasure or land, but the freedom to do anything at anytime.
I hope Sabo is alive, he was such a cool character when he was young, can you imagine how awesome he would be grown up? There seem to be so many bad strong guys, it would be nice to see a strong good guy
does this mean they won't be raising the bounty for Luffy for literally destroying ID with his antics?
Technically, he failed in his attempt to save Ace, so there is little reason to raise his bounty by TOO much especially if they are covering up the ID debacle.
I gotta agree, it was a bit anticlimactic indeed. What happened to the gun pointed at Kizaru? He told him to freeze but Kizaru attacked the sub anyways, and they didn't stop him. The Admirals did their darndest to destroy the sub even with shanks and crew there.
Well, I'm glad this arc is over…BB is going to eventually fight Shanks, he said so himself in this chapter...to early for a fight between them eh? hmm
Maybe coming back from the break would be a good time for a timeskip…I dunno, I'd also be interested to see the SH reuniting. Particularly, I want to see how Luffy can continue leading his crew, he would be very pissed he couldn't save Ace. How can he protect the rest of his teammates? There is no way that in the next arc, he will not have learned how to use Haki. Without it, he is simply far too weak and cannot lead a crew into the new world.
So next week I hope Shanks assists the WB pirates to escape. If we don't get a timeskip, I'll be happy to see reactions from the world over. If we do...well ...Oda is the master, whatever he does, it will be EPIC.
Aokoji himself once said that "absolute justice sometimes drives a man insane" so based on that…I don't think Akainu is evil, but rather slightly insane. Sure he could be less ruthless in his drive to eliminate pirates, but maybe in the past he was leniant and it backfired. Perhaps his family was killed by pirates and he has no tolerance whatsoever. We just don't know and just because he is the current antagonist...we can't call him despicable...
Tenryuubito on the other hand…they seem like little children who always get their way. I voted for them since there is no option for "corrupt WG system" and its despicable actions. Tenryuubito embody everything that is wrong with the WG.
Once Blackbeard stole the Gura Gura no Mi, that would have been a perfect time for all parties to make their escape.
Blackbeard has done the opposite and is now trying to destroy the Marine Icon, Marineford.
To me, this and the fact that the Marines have not suffered any casualties to major characters, tells me that one of the top brass in the Marines may die and I really believe it could be Garp.
So, in the end you believe that Ace, WhiteBeard, AND Garp will end up dieing?
Luffy is going to lose both his brother and grandfather at the same time? Unlikely. If a major Marine character needs to die, I'm hoping it will be Akainu, that asshole is gonna get it
perhaps he didn't consider the revolutionaries to be a big enough faction to be mentioned. Like little ants crawling around on a giant. Sure the ants can be a pain in the butt…but the pirates and WG are bigger factions at the moment.
Anyways, now that BB is more or less confirmed as the final villain, it will fall to Luffy to defeat him. When does this inevitable confrontation take place? On or near Raftel I'm thinking, with One Piece at stake. What could be more epic for the final arc of the series? If BB gets the One Piece, the world will be ruled by him, and Luffy has to stop him.
BlackBeard already has quake fruit to destroy anything, the blackness fruit to nullify all attack and powers...yet...BB is still a mortal.
One Piece...could it be the...
IMMORTATALITY FRUIT?!!! (or even a fruit that STEALS youth from others)
If people are truly right about BB being able to absorb one last fruit in his trio of souls...it would be an epic last battle :)
Crazy theory eh?!
Yet, the difference in power levels between the two crews puts SH's significantly lower at the moment. SH's need multiple people at the level where they would be imprisoned on level 6 in ID. What an insane crew BB has collected.
amazing epic chapter once again by Oda…the man keeps topping himself. I think it's one of the very few certainties of life, Oda just doesn't seem capable of putting out a bad chapter.
So the sole reason BB became a WG "dog" was to get into impel down. He obviously recruited his crew for a specific reason, I'm sure one of them has an idea of how to get to Raftel. I could see it as a race between SH and BB pirates to see who can get there first, then have a massive battle near/on it.
BB isn't part of the legendary Will of D? hmm...perhaps the "D" folk are kind and generous, kings of a kingdom that opposed the WG? All the D's we have known have been honest individuals who do not like hurting other people. I wonder if Oda knows what One Piece is...he must right? How can he keep something like that a secret for decades?! it must drive him insane. We still don't know if the 5 star general dudes are evil or not...maybe they are protecting the world from a greater evil?
very glad BB got beat down...BB isn't immortal after all, Luffy has a good chance of beating the crap out of him now that his aura of invincibility by beating Ace is gone. WB is such a monster! Wouldn't it suck to be so incredibly powerful but die to disease? Imagine how Roger felt...maybe he got the illness from Raftel? A curse....
WB is such an amazing character and this reminds me a lot of how Teresa in Claymore never really got to show her true power. All we can do is wonder how powerful WB and subsequently Roger must have been. In the end though, I don't think Oda wants people to be afraid of Luffy like they were of Roger...Luffy is too nice to be afraid of!
I'm just thinking how everyone in BB's crew is extremely above average in height. How exactly are the SH pirates supposed to compete….they will look like midgets compared to the shortest BB pirate.
I hoped Akainu would be killed outright...but if not killed, at least he should be severely damaged. I hope it's critical damage, kinda like how Ace had his insides burned away. I can't believe people are satisfied with a couple of (earth shattering at least) punches. HE KILLED ACE. I doubt WB will be satisfied till Akainu is DEAD. Two punches =/= death of ace.... only akainu dead will make it all equal.
Anyone think that once Akainu is no longer an Admiral, Coby might be able to work his way up to that position? he's got a long way to go, further than even Luffy, but maybe Garp will train him?
I can't believe Oda really killed Ace. :( I would say I can't wait for Luffy to explode and destroy akainu, but I need to get over Ace's death first. I guess Oda was saving an on screen death for Ace.
After reading this weeks chapter, all I can say is "Wow" and feel numb.
hold on a second…do people really think Ace is gonna die? The author who didn't even kill Pell who carried a massive bomb into the sky and came out perfectly fine?
I understand WB's death...he has to die to end an era, but Ace cannot die. He's part of the new generation that WB is sacrificing himself for. Can anyone possibly think WB's sacrifice will be in vain? The entire arc to be in vain with Ace dying as they are escaping?
Come on.
P.S. Hasn't Boa openly defied the World Government? She can't stay on that island anymore than the pirates...anyone think she will help Ace/Luffy out and escape with them? Small chance I know...more likely Squardo will do something to furthur repent...I'm trying to guess who will sacrifice themselves to save Ace/Luffy
Well…we did see WB destroy the building from the bottom...I assume with it falling all over the place, it will present a distraction for the marines so it would help the escape. It's gonna be awesome to see WB fight without regard to allies being hurt. I expect this will spectacular, ESPECIALLY, since it will be his FINAL battle. Does ANYONE believe WB's FINAL battle will be unspectacular? I believe it will take all 3 admirals + sengoku + garp and possibly some of the 6 warlords there to take him down for good. Remember...this man defeated the other super strong dude. The levitating dude who was only beaten by Sengoku + Garp.
Personally, I was very dissapointed by Sengoku in this instance...we knew Garp would take a fall for his grandson, but Sengoku got owned. Maybe vs WB he might show his power a little more...but he had the whole battle to basically get ready for anyone who gets close. Sure, having Mr. 3 posed as a guard was unexpected, but allowing luffy to help Ace escape or let alone survive their brief encounter proves that in the future...Luffy will be able to last much longer even in a 1vs1 battle to the end.
I'm also pleased Luffy acknowlodges Ace is still much stronger than him. It was nice seeing them so co-ordinated. I was surpised when Luffy suddenly ducked and ace did a one hand stand on him to take out both enemies at the same time with his fire.
P.S. That 'bear' hammock thing Nami is sitting on his cool.
4. WB death will make things more interesting for the world…it will create chaos because his territory will vanish (example fishman island will lose its protection that keeps it safe from the evils that seek to taint it)
I. If this were to happen it would make passing through it more difficult for lets say the strawhats when they get back together (would create a scenario for them to save fishman island thus adding on to the list of achievements they have accomplished!
I don't expect the WB pirates to dissapear after the death of WB. WB has already decided to make Ace the Pirate King, which means he will take over the control of the WB pirates in his stead. To think WB respects Ace that much will make all the people who helped to free him realize Ace is the heir to WB.
It's possible initially the WB will be weakened to not help due to thinning of the ranks…fishman island for instance, Luffy + crew manage to stave off what would happen without protection. In addition to helping save Ace, the WB pirates have another reason to help Luffy along the way. Having the new WB leader as your brother will give Luffy another neccesary ally.
Probably the reason why one crew does not conquer the NW, not only can they not read the ancient language to find whatever One Piece is, but they are deadlocked in battle with 4 yonkous. We know Luffy has the assistance of Ace as well as Lola's mother who is probably really high ranked...possibly another Yonkou. Maybe the two battle the other two leaders of the New World and Luffy squeezes through.
You hated the Merry farewell? It was brilliant imo, that was a great way to let a character pass away Merry was an inanimate object but somehow it had a life of its own. It was so full of emotion and stuff, It hit the mark by my standards.
Oh well, having no ambition may be resolved by a loss of special person. Death change people in certain ways.
The Merry farewell was awesome. I wonder if their new ship will also develop a personality.
Cmon guys.. Stop arguing with this stupid garaa.. I hate reading his post every week
Simple solution to garaa…http://apforums.net/profile.php?do=addlist&userlist=ignore&u=14719
I honestly cannot believe you guys keep posting the same responses to him, he willfully ignores them, and you people respond again and again. All I can believe is he's trolling…nobody can be that silly...can they?
If for some reason you want to actually read his post while he's being ignored, there is an option that says "view post" and it will temporarily show you :)
anyways back to the topic at hand...what does luffy using king's haki entail for his future? He's already such a big pain the butt for the marines, can they focus even more ppl to catch him? Maybe promote Smoker to full time luffy hunting?
@Kairouseki:
I want Sengoku to do one of those face-faults like Enel and Perona.
that would be majorly EPIC, and I'd like that look mirrored by PWNGOAT AS WELL.
I don't really see either side emerging as "victorious" per se…both sides will be inflicted with massive casualties, but yeah, I expect the WG to come out on top overall. With WB losing his position, it will create a vortex in the power balance which will cause even more things to go out of control. Maybe Squardo is planning to take advantage of such a situation to cement his place (possible alliance to BB? still don't know what BB was doing in Impel Down eh?).
Honestly, it was truly surprising to see Squardo betray WB like that...I remember him being mentioned by WB earlier in the war and was happy to see such a strong character would help lead the charge, and turns out he was planning to betray WB all along...Oda keeps us on an amazing roller coaster ride!
I think the stabbing serves a dual purpose. We already know WB is not at full capacity having seen him on IV's and all. Still, he's still yonkou level having crossed blades with Shanks, and Shanks allowing WB to go save Ace as opposed to going himself. So that means Shanks believes in WB's power. I think one of the purposes Oda allowed WB to get stabbed is to show his epic willpower. We already know he has a hax DF, great leadership skills, strong allies...but what happens when he faces nearly insurmountable odds? My mind goes back to Zoro standing like nothing happened when Kuma transferred Luffy's pain/fatigure over, covered in blood. I believe it will be something amazingly epic like that, with WB saving Ace regardless of the cost to himself.
P.S. I hate to even consider the possibility since I've come to love his character so much and it would tear me apart to think he would do such a thing, could it be possible the reason BB entered Impel Down was to retrieve a certain person...who can shift into other people? Everyone has been expecting a straight out betrayal or Don Flamingo pulling the strings...but really...what about Bon Chan? The scene with him sacrificing himself for Luffy and Crew was awesome, but wasn't BB still there when that happened? What's to say Bon Chan wasn't working with BB all along? I know, my mind spins at the thought, just throwing out an (im)possibility? Or maybe one of the BB pirates has the ability to temporarily leech the abilities of another DF user...would be hella scary.
If only she were the "snow" witch things would be easier. A snow logia would be… um... (no pun intended) cool. Wouldnt be too bad to have a cool cool fruit (opposite of that anime filler's heat heat fruit).
Why not an ice paramecia to throw things out of order?
heh, I could see Iceberg "san" getting an ice power :D
still you have to admit, any noob with the power of a sand logia would be pretty powerful
the difference is Crocodile figured out different methods of using his powers, which probably inspired Luffy to do the same.
also, there are probably limits to what you can do with your fruit…being able to make glass from sand seems too much power in one logia, considering a glass power could also become a fruit power.
my guess is that oda is making us believe that WB is causing it but in the end it would be Blackbeard's doing.
that's a good thought, sounds just like something Oda would think up
after all, why would BB go through all the trouble of gaining a warlord title to throw it away during his invasion of ID? There must be something other than a new crew member at ID, maybe a ship of some sort.
After all, his crew is strong (even stronger with new member) and he has his devil fruit power that held him back from showing his power till now…what else does he need?
Blackbeard, as we all know, is cold and calculating, being able to wait decades to achieve his goal. Part 1 was getting the devil fruit...part 2 was capturing a major pirate in an attempt to gain a warlord title. He probably assumed that once he had the title, getting into ID without suspicion would be quite easy. Once he saw the repercussions of his capturing ace and the subsequent war with WB, I suppose he must have assumed getting into ID is still pretty easy, with everyone focused on the war.
For the longest time, a lot of people assumed BB would eventually challenge WB for the title of "Strongest person in the world"...the question is...why would he do that? As we have been show so far, he cares not for title, but is rather interested in becoming Pirate King...since the strongest person isn't the PK, I doubt BB plans to go that way.
Perhaps ID is the storage location of a ship, or a map that gives hints to OP or even one of the legendary ships. What better place to keep it than one of the major strongholds.
well…technically if you want to count Merry, the ship was beat up and past it's prime. In that context, you could say it's like an old man, and it died a natural death Sure it "fought" in many battles, but in the end, it wasn't sunk by an enemy ship, it just took too much damage over the course of its life and passed away :D
Still, I think about how emotional that scene was, and I have to wonder...if Oda can make the death of a SHIP that emotional, how emotional will it be if a human SH dies?
Hell, the scene with Bonchan was intense, if he somehow lives, I would ABSOLUTELY support him joining their crew. His sacrifice was so great, he saved Luffy twice. For that reason alone, I must thank Crocodile for making Bon chan cross paths with Luffy.
rereading one piece is one of my fav passtimes :D
Either way; if it was up to me though I'd have someone like Magellan on the front lines rather than Impel Down.
Poisonman is scary.
Nah, who's gonna be stupid enough to attack marine HQ (is that the front lines)
On the other hand, prisoners need to be kept in line, poison is a scary ass threat to make prisoners scared. He can torture you in so many ways.
I think he would be at least Vice Admiral status, considering he's one of the leaders at their main prison. That carries quite a status.
I don't know…was Lucci vicious and cruel because he was a government dog or was that his personality...if it was his personality, then Luffy did change him
cover's get animated too? Cool….I haven't watched the anime in years....
I'm super excited about Franky though, he seems like he might be on the verge of a breakthrough.
I expect all the SH to be a lot stronger, especially considering Luffy discovered Haki in all it's glory...how will the others keep pace?
I don't know…I don't see ANY SH's dieing to be honest. However, if Oda does kill a major character soon, I might change my mind. Well, I do expect to see WB dead soon, but of natural causes...if someone dies a VIOLENT death, that changes things
hahaha, nice poll, I guess people didn't get the Dragon Ball Z reference :D over 9000!!!
Hilarious stuff, I crack up everytime
i don't think oda will handle whitebeards death with humor. it will end up being an emotional death with whoever kills him being shot up to number 1 pirate after he kills whitebeard which i think will be blackbeard.
my thoughts exactly, Oda is one of the rare mangaka who knows how to put on a comedy moment, but also extremely sad moments. It would be funny for .02 seconds if Buggy claimed to have killed WB, but then, what about the repercussions? He simply cannot defend the title of the strongest and would be massacred by both sides.
I just don't see Buggy taking the credit for defeating Whitebeard…I'm sure at the last minute or something he will realize by doing so would make him target #1 throughout the world, both with marines gunning for the pirate who toppled WB to pirates looking to make a name for themselves.
I do see him taking credit for something else though, that is less dangerous but more beneficial to him. Such as when they escape from marine HQ, he will lead the charge, so not only has Buggy escaped from ID, but from marine HQ as well. Something like that or like others said, defeating some minor marine and or stumbling on the 'corpse' of a major character. After all, he wants to make a name for himself, he doesn't want to become THE name.
Maybe Whitebeard or someone else will have broken through the gate before they reach it?
It would be so epic and awesome that if they are dreading the arrival of GoJ, thinking how will we open the gate doors, and we finally get over the horizon to see a massive hole smoldering in the very gate itself. Everyone would KNOW that Whitebeard is on the scene. The very idea of seeing a massive hole in those insane gates gives me shivers.
Got a question, what exactly is going on with Jimbei and him reminiscing about Arlong???
there was mistranslation in the onemanga scanlation, but he's basically feeling guilty about Arlong and what he did, so he wants to thank Luffy for taking care of the situation
I figure that the only person who could BREAK through the gates would be someone who has more power than the entire Buster Call…such a person could obliterate multiple islands simultaneously....which in the New World does not seem impossible
on the other hand, I think a trick of some sort, a fruit that enables them to teleport through for instance, or phase through the gate is a plausible solution, aside from the obvious someone ELSE opens the door for them on the inside.
It is time for… Gomu Gomu no... Giganto Gatling!!!
The Gates of Justice are MASSIVE, it would take hundreds of Giganto Gatlings to budge it even an inch
Look at it http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/548/06/
once Luffy gets to Marine HQ, he will have laid waste to two of the main 3 places Marine's control….EL was demolished by the buster call, ID is in pieces with hundreds of prisoners escaping, and now he's heading to marine HQ....the trend continues and Marine HQ will be in ruins
Hmm, my thoughts are that the prison will go on like normal…you have to remember that Luffy, Crocodile, and Jimbei, as well as the queen okama RAN away...nobody could quite match the poison fruit. If bon chan didn't sacrifice himself, they wouldn't have gotten away. There would have been NO escapees from Impel down.
Also, most people think Luffy's notoriety will go WAY up. I think that's a mistake...WHO throughout the arc has been taking credit for whatever strawhat did? yes....captain buggy! I expect his bounty to go WAY up, and perhaps even claim he was the one who single handledly broke out
Aside from that, EXCELLENT chapter, I knew bon chan was AMAZING, but this is FREAKING EPIC.
Considering that BB's goal is One Piece, and level 6 is full of prisoners who have been deemed to be the most dangerous of all threats to the WG…what if there is someone in level 6 who has information regarding One Piece? No doubt that person will be super strong as well, perhaps that's why BB is there to recruit, not merely to add strong crew members.
Or like other people have suggested, this person could have information regarding a ship or something.
Somehow I doubt someone with information regarding One Piece would be be willing to share the information with BB since the only people who have been to Raftel are Roger's crew, thus only loyal to Roger.
I don't see how Luffy can beat BB yet…I don't think they are even going to fight, something will get in the way
btw, did Luffy fall asleep due to the sleeping gas? Is that considered a type of poison? If so…he hasn't become immune to poison like we thought he might have? hmm
i think he will beat the ever loving hell out of croc if croc screws up the ace rescue .. seriously
Jimbei's the one who is gonna beat up Croc if he tries to betray them…oh and Iva too
I wonder though, how exactly is Crocodile going to "drill" through the stone? That should be interesting to see
I am amazed at your patience to write so many words in explanation. Oda does not work as hard as ten years ago(in his first 100 chapters there was not any break at all). However, he deserves the vacations just as anyone of us.
LOL, yes I'm sure YOU would know how hard Oda is working right? You know him personally and can monitor him 24/7?
10 years ago, he had how many projects going on besides OP? How many projects does he have to work on besides OP now? You must also take into consideration what else he is working on besides OP.
Regardless, the point that everyone should acknowledge is that Oda's work simply outclasses any other manga…with or withou breaks, OP covers more content than Naruto and Bleach without a doubt. Honestly, as long as the quality remains the same (sometimes I think it's exponentially getting better) I have no complaints.
I bet Zoro's life was pretty great up until he met Luffy. Then every fight he got in resulted in gallons of blood lost, scars on thars, and broken swords.
in a way I guess that's true…but, the purpose of his life was to become the greatest swordsman in the world right? Well, then what was he doing in East Blue? He didn't realize how great the gap between him and people like Mihawk was until he went out with Luffy and battled his arch nemesis Mihawk.
Can you imagine the heartbreak for him if he trained for 20 years in East Blue to become the best there, then went onto face Mihawk and get obliterated simply because he didn't realize the level needed to be the best?
If anything, his life now is pretty great...every battle is leading him to become the strongest swordsman in the world...and he's competing at a world class level, not just East Blue level :) the fact that he's so badass he could be a captain of his own crew is a testament to his growth. For now, I just can't view Sanji on the same level as Zoro even though they are thought to be relatively of the same strength.
P.S. Though it's gonna be agony to not have OP for 2 weeks, I have to mention that a single OP chapter usually has at least twice the content Naruto has and at least 4x content that Bleach has. Honestly, I can't believe how low Bleach has fallen.
"he want's panties! show him the panties he desires!"
LOL…man, Luffy and now Brooke both struck gold, though Luffy doesn't know it yet...poor Sanji...got the short end of the stick...literally :P
and <3 Boa...comes out just as they say shave me a mohawk if she really said it...and she says it :o
can you imagine a super hot girl asking for 5 meals, all at least 100kilos? sheesh
Wait, if Luffy has a kid with Boa, won't the child be a female? Didn't I read earlier in the manga that all kids born of the women from that island are female? Does that mean the end of Luffy's male line? Let's say he has a daughter, won't that daughter also have only a daughter and so on? Or am I mistaken…women from this island can give birth to males too?
And now that Bancock is in love with Luffy, a possible queen to the future pirate king, would she really join HIS crew? Would she accept being "under" his rule? I doubt it. If anything, now that she's a love interest, she will have to be more independant and be her own leader. A worthy mate for the king.
I pick Margarette to join the SH now. She seems the most involved.
@Kuso:
Only problem with Margaret joining is how Oda will introduce her past. I mean shes not gonna come by and tell Luffy, "Hey you wanna know my past I
ll tell you for no apparent reason!"Whats the situation now that can give us a heart aching past from Margaret?
many chapters left for her story to be revealed…I'd rather go with Margaret than Caimie...Caimie is way too weak. Just like Vivian, she was just not strong enough
I'm not really sure why people think Hancock might join…sure her background story is tragic, but are we forgetting she's the leader of the Isle of Women? The WG do not attack the island is because she is one of the seven warlords. In the past, she was doing this partly due to fear, she most likely thought that she herself, or even younger women on the island might be taken hostage during the fight and end up with the world nobles. So she avoided fighting and remained in her lofty position.
Now however, she seems to have grown over her fear, seeing Luffy's incredible will power and relentless drive. I don't know if she will publicly renounce the WG or simply sabatoge from behind the scenes, but I think whatever she does, she will remain behind to protect the Island. Vivi couldn't leave because she had responsibilities. She fits well and her followers love her. How many of the other strawhats have shirked their responsibilities to join the crew?
Luffy was pretty much always solo. Zoro was always solo. Nami was protecting her village, once that was done, she could go solo. Usopp was also solo dreaming of being a great pirate, didn't really have any real responsibilities where hundreds or thousands look to him for help. Sanji had his restaurant, but was being held back by that, since he wanted to achieve his dream. Chopper was a doctor, his ambition was much larger and more doctors would be trained anyways, he wouldn't be as needed as much. Franky was a leader of his crew, but also wanted to be a pirate in his heart to follow Tom. Robin is always solo too...since her childhood home was destroyed. And Brooke, well...all his crew dead, no responsibilities.
Basically, I think that we will not see rulers of countries join the SH, forget the fact that Bancock is way too strong, it would upset the delicate balance in the crew.
With all that being said, its still possible Oda might throw us for a loop, get Nyon to take over as rule and have Bancock join the SH. Well, until we learn about her ambition that's not going to happen...I could see her joining Dragon to destroy the WG, but that's not really Luffy's goal, he just beats up those who get in his way or hurt his friends.
Personally, I don't want her to join. I don't feel like she adds a unique perspective to the crew...we already have Nami who was literally used as a slave. What weakness does she help fill in the SH crew? Being another powerhouse isn't really "filling a hole"...what are they still missing? I think they need someone who excels in underwater fighting. Of course.....someone who knows Haki and can teach or explain it to the rest of the crew might not be all that bad...so Hancock isn't out of the running completely, neither is Margarette who ISN'T a leader of anything, and already has a repore with Luffy...he risked his life to unpetrify her. I could easily see Hancock telling Luffy that although she would love to join him, she has to look after her people....but Margette would love to join.
The three sisters were captured by slave traders off their Kuja ship…what happened to the other pirates? And was the empress at the time Nyon? Why were they travelling without her...hmm
god damnit, I love one piece! it's epic every single week. No other manga can even come close.
