@Robzilla:
There has to be some actual link to the person who would seek the revenge.
Like what? You can post whatever definition that suits your argument the best. It doesn't mean a thing. There are dozens of reworded definitions of revenge.
I'm dropping this part of the argument. It's pointless and a waste of time.
Luffy did not want revenge against a pack of barely sentient, hungry wolves.
He wanted to protect his friend.
This isn't a hard distinction to grasp.
Right, cause angrily biting a wolf when he could have knocked it out with CoC was called for. We can argue about this for days. Of course he wanted to protect Mr 2 but that doesn't mean that he didn't intend to harm the wolf for harming him. You cannot disprove this since there's nothing contradicting my perception of the scene. You're merely acting as if your perception of the scene is the one and only.
Like I said before, this part of the argument is dropped.
This is the only one that bears any resemblance to revenge.
However, considering that Luffy just happened to run into him, and left after a scuffle, does it really seem like Luffy is a man motivated by revenge?
He hasn't shown any indication that he'd like to get even with Blackbeard since then, when the man happened to be right in front of him.
So you finally admit that Luffy attacked Blackbeard out of revenge? That's all I needed to see. The rest of your post is irrelevant to me.
That's like saying there's no point in stopping a thief because they've already stolen
The two situations bear no resemblance.
If you can get back whatever the thief stole then you wouldn't be attacking him out of revenge or for no reason at all.
Luffy went after mohji and Richie after witnessing that store being burned down to beat them up.
He himself flat out said " I don't need an apology because it won't bring back Shushu's treasure. And you… I came to get payback from you. He flat out stated that he came for revenge.
Becoming an infamous pirate, being able to become a shichibukai as a result, being able to infiltrate PH because of that status, destroying the SAD room on PH and recruiting the SH's to maneuver Doffy into a confrontation with Kaido etc.
Becoming a shichibukai and everything after was meant to get revenge on Do flamingo. There's nothing that says he became a pirate just for that.
The last 13 years of Law's life have been all about one ultimate goal, and that is to kill Doflamingo
This is proven false by Law himself. Back before the time skip he said that they were going after the one piece.
Hell, he was willing to die himself just to make Doffy vs. Kaido more likely.
So what? That was the same case with Ace.
